I got this for my daughter for Christmas. She was about 10 months old at the time, and LOVED LOVED LOVED it. It is still one of her favorite toys. She is almost a year now and can hold it up and swing it a little better but even if you lay it on the floor next to the baby they can pat and pound it to make the cymbols sound. They are totally enclosed in a nice thick plastic so they still make noise if it's laying down on the floor. This also protects the cymbols from damage and protects children from getting hurt. It's also fun for me! I put it by my foot when I'm playing guitar and tap it with my toes while playing. My daughter loves when I play her songs and this just adds to the fun. I would suggest this to anybody young or old and can see this sticking around for years to come. It is really well built and was worth every penny. I know Hohner is a quality company that for the most part makes pretty decent instruments for a good price.
I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

I like that the metal castinets are enclosed in plastic, so they don't get dirty or rust. My 18 mo. old doesn't play with it much, but she's probably too young to appreciate it. Has a good sound!Want Hohner Kids MT608 Musical Toys Percussion Effect - Assorted Colors Discount?
This is a high quality tamborine that doesn't sound much different from our professional quality tamborine. It is little heavy, but my six month old really had no trouble holding and shaking it. Couldn't be more pleased with this purchase.I was so glad to find this item! My baby loves grasping it and hearing the sound when he shakes it! The metal pieces are completely enclosed with durable plastic. I wish you could choose the color, but luckily I got what I wanted.
