Buy Sassy Clink 'N Chew Keys Now
Yes, it's true, the paint does come off a bit. However, my daughter gnaws, chews, sucks on everything, so it wasn't a bit shocking. Most of the paint scrapes, etc. on a lot of her toys. However, toys are made with non-toxic paint (well most of them anyway-and those that aren't are recalled). The sound is a bit annoying at times, but she LOVED this toy. In fact, it's how we taught her to crawl. She was so determined to get her favorite toy. All in all, it was definitely worth the money, despite the minor sound annoyance. The black paint on the white "key ring" chips off, and the white paint "spots" on the royal blue "key fob" also chips off. Do NOT buy this toy. It really seems like a lot of fun, but I would never have let my child play with it if I had known what would happen.Tuesday, July 2, 2013
Sassy Clink 'N Chew Keys
My twin boys enjoyed this toy for a while, but I noticed that the paint on the key fob was chipping off. The toy is designed for young, teething babies. Having the paint chip off in their mouths is unacceptable! Based on the poor construction of this item, I do not recommend it.I tried out this key teether in the store, trying to find the most fun one for my 4 1/2 month granddaughter. Some kids like one kind of a sound, other kids like another. I shook it, pressed the buttons, felt around the edges, etc. It all seemed very pleasing. However before I got home from the store, it quit working (OK I admit it, I was the one playing with it I call it testing ;) So I went back a few days later to exchange it. Of the four still on the shelf, three did not work. That means that only one in five were actually working :( The cashier and I could not find a way to open it up to replace the batteries. So then I came online to make others aware of the problem and I read the reviews about the paint coming off. I don't care WHAT a baby does to a toy. The paint should NEVER come off in their mouths or on their hands. I would never have bought it if I had read the other reviews first. Kids have teethers for a reason. It is supposed to be something SAFE to put in their mouths (as opposed to random things that are *probably* safe but why take any chances). I'm stunned that they even made such a lame teether. Sassy is supposed to be a reputable company. I am going to be VERY wary about them as a company when I consider my future purchases.
