Tomy Starlight Dreamshow Musical Baby Night Light

I bought this light show for my two year old son. He has never been a good sleeper and it takes him a long time to settle down at night in his crib.

The positives He loved the light show on the ceiling and it calmed him instantly. Of all the light shows, this one is definitely the cutest. It has pretty colors and adorable animals. People wrote that the volume is too loud, but I don't agree. You can't adjust the volume, but it is at a good level.

The negative what I really don't like about this product is that it shuts off after 5 or 10 minutes. Those are the only two time settings on the unit. If your child doesn't fall asleep within 10 minutes in bed, don't buy this. It would instantly calm my son and I was thrilled!! BUT, as soon as it shut off he would scream and be wide awake again. I started leaving it on the floor by the door and timing it. I would have to do an army crawl on the floor so he wouldn't see me and reset the thing every 10 minutes. Very frustrating!!

I ended up buying a homedics soundscapes lullaby projector. It doesn't turn off!! You can also set the timer up to 60 minutes. It plugs in, has a volume control and 3 different light shows to choose from. It also plays a lot of different sounds and songs. It is equal in value, but a lot more for the money.

I bought this toy 4 years ago after having my first child and it's a great product and not many places sell it. Fast forward to today and the light bulb has never burned out and the display on the ceiling moves along like a movie as opposed to other light shows that only project a still image on the wall. It's traveled with us and has had it's fair share of kid-handling. I pulled this toy out recently for my second child who is 2 who has started to have problems going to bed and it soothes her. She asks for her "light show" and hunkers down in her crib ready for the show to start. I'm going to buy another one.

Since my little one enjoys various light shows, I picked this one up for her and she uses it just about every night. The only thing that I do not do since she is 14 1/2 months old is hang it in the crib since she can now pull it from the strap that keep it in place and pull it down. So I place it on the floor next to the crib and it does the job!

This projects a very cute little scene on the ceiling with a basic lullaby. We love it. It doesn't run for too long and you can turn it off at any time.

I got this for my 6 month old because I could not get him to sleep at night, well unfortunately it did not help with that ( nothing did!), but my then 2 1/2 yr old started using it instead. He loves it we keep it on the floor and use rechargeable batteries, it has not failed to work ever. I can attest to it's durability since it has been dropped and kicked over by my sons many times. It is very cute and plays nice music, as far as noise level when it's quite at night anything seems louder, but it's not obnoxious. It helps my son get to sleep every night, and staves off any "dark" issues. I will say when the battery power starts to drain the first function to go is the spinning of the picture, Changing( recharging) batteries saves this, or let it play without for awhile, I do! If stopped working today It would stink, but I would at least feel I've gotten my moneys worth!
