THEY ARE NOT LARGE FIGURES. The zebra is about 4 inches long at most and about 3 inches high. I look at this size as a positive, making them perfect to keep in the car, diaper bag or purse to play with on the go or while waiting at a doctor's office for example. Each little wooden cube is about as wide as my pinkie finger [1 cm?] These will work your child's fine motor skills, and as they get bigger and are able to manipulate the limbs more intentionally I think they hold even more power for development exercise.
Honestly, these are not my son's favorite toys in the least. But if he is getting irritable while we are out and I hand him one, it does keep his attention for a bit, which makes them great in my book! My son is 14 months so he cannot 'poze' them the way they are made to be. The blocks are slit in such a way that they will only bend on the (thick/strong) rubber string in certain directions, which is why I said they would also be nice for older kids because it takes more thought to bend them. Overall, they are well worth the $1.97 price tag and then some. I think they are ideal for an Easter basket, stocking stuffer or even for party favors at an animal themed birthday [that would be a great one!] I would recommend these to a friend, I already did on one of the messages boards I'm on around Christmas time. And to top it off I feel the safety and green aspect make them that much more appealing! These toys are small, overall height of perhaps 4", I was under the impression they were larger. Also, the strings that hold them together don't feel very strong, I am afraid one will give and my some will be stuck with a small wood block in his hand. They are cute and brightly colored, but my expectations were higher. Also, company ships UPS, so shipping was 3x more than cost of toys.
