I received this book as a gift when my daughter was born. From the very beginning the pictures held her attention; then, as she grew, she became fascinated with the different textures used on the animals, the crinkly parts of some pages and simply the indescribable joy of being able to turn the pages by herself (at eight months, she's just now starting to be able to turn board book pages without my help). I expect that the book will continue to interest her as she gets older: the text is very simple and easy to read, and one can also play "find Baby Tiger" as he is hiding in a different place on each page. I like it because it washes well (although I do dry it on the "delicate/low heat" cycle so that the crinkly bits and the squeaker in Baby Tiger's nose don't melt), I don't have to worry about her chewing on it, and even after eight months I can still pull it out when she's getting grousy, say "Want to read Baby Tiger?" and have her take the book and settle in to look at it happily a true godsend when in the car or when she's stuck in her crib or playpen while I finish up a chore. I would definitely recommend this book! When I was pregnant, I carefully studied Amazon's best-selling baby items and read the reviews and created my baby registry based largely on that. This book got such glowing reviews that I added it, and, when no one got it for us, bought it myself. I have no idea why it got such good reviews. This is the entirety of the book:
Title: Baby Tiger's Jungle Adventure
The zebra has stripes
The Lion ROARS ROARS
The Peacock has Feathers
The Crocodile is Bumpy
The Elephant is BIG
My Daddy is Orange
The End
The pictures aren't that interesting, nor the "interactive" features (mainly little flaps where the little tiger is hiding), and, as you can see from above, some words in sentences are capitalized for no reason (one of my pet peeves). I expect more from a book that costs almost $15! My baby shows no interest in it whatsoever. Waste of money.

It's hard to really write a review of a children's peek-a-boo book, but I'll try: this book serves the purpose of being "interactive" but it's just not all that exciting. The "flaps" for kids to look behind are pretty small so they seem almost incidental rather than intentional. However I guess you could argue that's good for fine motor development? Regardless, the interaction doesn't offer that much of a reward (e.g. half of what's behind the "flap" is already exposed before you move it). I'd suggest looking for an alternate to this one.Read Best Reviews of Manhattan Toy Tiger's Jungle Adventure Book Here
I bought this book for my 6 month old grandson because I needed another purchase to reach my free shipping with Amazon. I chose this book because of the cover. My grandson loves it! His mother "reads" it to him, he scoots to get it when on the floor, he chews on it, and it still looks as good a new. Terrific buy and the service was very fast. I will probably purchase more of these books.I like the idea of the book but my daughter just did not seem to get into the textures although she normally really likes books. Her favorite part was the velcrow that holds the book together.
