The Stoplight Golight Timer has saved our lives! It allows us to sleep in until 7:30am on the weekends! It's AWESOME! We have a 3 year old and a 5 1/2 year old, so this hasn't happened in quite sometime.

We also use it for timeouts for our 3 year old and for reading time for our 5 1/2 year old. This is definitely a useful tool for children of all ages.

The light turns "red" to have the child STOP and focus on the task at hand, and then when it's "green" the child knows that "green means GO" and it's time to move on to the next task. As a matter of fact, when I use it for my 5 1/2 year old's reading time...she typically reads for 5 extra minutes everytime, because she doesn't realize the light has turned green (since I don't use the audible alarm). Haha! Gotcha! Love that I can control good behavior tasks (waking up late (for mom and dad), reading, teeth brushing, etc.), as well as not so good behavior tasks (timeouts, etc.) with a couple of clicks of my Stoplight Golight!

This stoplight is so great. Compared to other visual timerslike the OK to Wake (which I borrowed from a friend and could not even get it to workbesides I don't have time to be programming a clock!!). The lights are easy to see and my toddler understands it even though he doesn't seem to completely know his colors. This helped us with the "staying in bed" issue almost immediately. I plan to use it for many other timed tasks in the future. As a former special education teacher, I know that visual cues are important for kids.

We've been using this light for over a year with our 3.5 year old son, and we love it! Without this light he'd be up at the crack of dawn, waking us up! He actually won't go to sleep without it. We actually forgot it on a trip and it took a while to convince him that he could go to sleep without it!

We also use it for time outs and iPad or tv time. It's very portable because of the batteries, so we can bring it wherever we need it.

The yellow light doesn't turn on but I read that it's because they didn't want kids focusing on waiting for the light to turn from yellow to green when they should be focusing on reading or homework time. Makes sense to me and my son doesn't care.

There are seriously so many uses for this. I'm glad we found it! It's a great product!

We ordered this to use with our son in feeding therapy. I should have read the description more thoroughly because we need something that is green until the time is almost up, then turns yellow, then red. This sits on red until the very end and then turns green. The yellow light doesn't work, it's there just to complete the stop light look. If you need something basic and are willing to spend about $40 for it, buy this product. If not, shop around. We're returning this light and buying a different, cheaper one.
