Juno Baby - Super Duper Deluxe Edition

The question you need to ask when you consider Juno Baby is your tolerance for annoyance if it brings a smile you child's face. My wife and I can handle about 10 minutes of the *vocal* portion of the cd before we switch over to the instrumental portion (which is very well done). Let's be clear the words of the songs are imaginative and educational. The arrangements are very professional (and not the dreaded synthesizer garbage you get from some other children's cds) and well done. The problem is (for adults) is that the vocals are done in character. This is tolerable when you are watching the animated show, but for some reason it becomes very annoying when it is on an audio CD.

A few other notes

Our personal favorite is the song "Broccoli" it is a very cute song

Again, the vocals can be annoying BUT there is an instrumental portion of the cd and it alone is worth the cost of th cd

The songs do support the Juno jr. Dvds and videos. if your child has never seen any of the Juno Jr. videos they may not *get* the music, and it would certainly lose some of its charm.

Also, if you are looking for a Juno Jr. video, I would recommend Juno Jr. -The Day the Music Stopped which is very well done

Final Verdict I will echo everyone else in saying that the vocals are annoying, BUT there are still redeeming qualities which make it worth consideration.

I was given this CD as a gift and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. My kids (2 and 5) were held captive by the characters voices and I found the music to be not at all grating (like most kids' cds can be!). We had seen the dvd's before at a friend's and my daughter was drawn to the character's (in particular the cat and the bumblebee) and she loooved it. Happy to be listening to something other than Elmo!!

My 5 year old loves music. I try to expose her to a wide variety, including top 40, hip hop, classical, country, etc. She loves Juno Baby! I knew she would, since she loves Disney's Little Einsteins.

This CD gets played quite a bit. I'm glad my daughter is learning such an important appreciation for music as well as having fun.

I will definitely purchase more Juno Baby items!

My 2 1/2 year old daughter has enjoyed the songs on this CD and asks for it in the car now. After 3 listens she is already singing "Broccoli". I suspect that being more familiar with Juno products will lend more meaning to some of the songs. While most children's music or shows prove ultimately irritating if heard or viewed enough times, this one at least doesn't irritate right away.

The CD is absolutely wonderful. My kids listen to it in the car (and sing along of course!) and before bed (and sometimes all day long) LOVE it. Though geared for kids, the music is sophisticated enough that as an adult, I love it, as well. Not something we'll get tired of, like most other kid-based programs out there. This is a truly wonderful company with an amazing line of music/dvds.

Note, we did view the DVDs with the kids first before playing the CD; you will appreciate the CD (sing along songs) so much more if you watch the DVDs first. The kids love it because they knew exactly which character is singing which song. The orchestral songs are perfect for bedtime, too :)
