My son is currently 4 months and weighs about 15 pounds. This float was easy to assemble and a breeze to blow up.The shade is a bit low, but worked fine since my son is young. I can see that it would be an issue for any baby that was a bit taller and older. As long as the sun was behind the float than it shaded just fine, which is the most important to us since we are in 100 degree weather in Arizona. It also was nice because the mesh in the bottom of the float enabled us to sort of recline my son (always watching and holding him of course). He really enjoyed himself.
All in all it was a great price and I do think we will get our money worth on this product. It is not as nice of a design as the $35-$40 floats but it blocks the sun and enables my son to have a good time in the pool!
