Both my 4 year old and 1 year old loved this toy when we got it. had fun with the boats separately and with the whole thing together, but there is a serious flaw in the design (as others mention). The battery compartment door is held in place by 3 screws, but that isn't sufficient to keep the water out of it after a while. The tighter you screw down the door, the longer it will last, but there's always the corners that aren't directly held down that can and will leak.Things to keep in mind:
if you have one, or decide to get one anyway, really tork down the screws to make it as tight as possible. They did put metal sleeves for the screws, so you shouldn't crossthread them or pull them out.
OR
go ahead and silicone or caulk the battery compartment closed after installing the batteries. I think a thin bead around the edges would keep them in place. You don't want to do it inside, because then you couldn't cut it open easily.
Don't let it run without sitting in water, most pumps will burn out very quickly if you do.
If they had a working website (it says, Under Construction) I would have asked them to replace ours based on the flaw.
Edit: As someone else points out, you can overtighten screws and deform the gasket, although given the location of these screws, that would really only potentially be a problem with one of them.

Our 12 month old great grand baby loves this toy. She figured out how to work it by herself within minutes. Only problem is getting her out of the tub now. This toy has occupied my little one and his parents for many, many baths. Exploring the different pieces and how they fit together is great fun. If you don't mind some splashing, I would HIGHLY recommend this fountain.
