i put it together and the rails are not really anchored to anything. they were just hanging off the side so i took them off. i gave three stars cuz my 2yr old loved it and the toddler mattress fits right in. but still i worry about him falling out of the bed

Would give it 4 stars; however, received bed with one of the frame pieces necessary for assembly with no holes drilled into the metal where they should have been. Needed to go to the hardware store and get a metal drill and file and make the hole myself in order to assemble properly.
