Little Tikes Discover Sounds Hammer

This hammer was purchased for my son for Christmas. HE LOVED IT! However, I noticed that there is a "film" almost skin-like peeling from the blue handle. I thought at first it was just a result of him playing with it (sticky hands, etc) but upon further investigation, I noticed that a clear plastic film is flaking from every spot on the handle. I don't know if this is a product defect or if it is harmless, but either way, I have taken it away from him and sent a note on to "Little Tikes" expressing my concern. He enjoyed this toy so much... I will have to find something else to entertain him and his desire to bang on things.

We bought this for our daughters since they love to bang toys on the floor. I figured I might as well make it somewhat productive, so I bought it. They also have a hard time getting it away from me as I love to hear the sound effects. It's a durable toy with a rubber grip and rubber hammer head, so you won't see any dings or scratches from their hammering. Five stars!

My son loves to bang things to hear the noises it makes, but it wasn't always pleasant to us. I saw this hammer in the store and I put it in the cart immediately. He has loved this toy for a good long time now. If he gets into his banging moods I get his hammer and tell him to bang with it. It makes cute noises and is safe.

I got this for my son and he isn't able to pick it up still since the grip of it is too big. This isn't a small hammer but a pretty large one. I'm sure once he's much older, he will like it more but don't buy this product for a child under 18mo
