Our son is 8 months old and we still use it (started using it when he was 2 months old). He loves looking at it and the mechanical noise mentioned by others is kind of rythmic and neither him nor us mind it at all. Be ready to replace batteries every two months or so (with daily use). Side note I find it kind of funny it has 6, not 8, legs... Fantastic purchase, really worth the money. We're keeping it for our next kiddo.I wanted to do an underwater theme for my son's room and loved this mobile when I saw it. After assembling it and putting in batteries, we attached it to the crib and. . . . it didn't work. The music played, but the mobile didn't move. That was kind of an important part as my boy wanted to watch something and I can get a radio to play music. It randomly started one time after that and then never again. It was sent back.I bought this late December 2012. By the end of January 2013 the mobile stopped rotating. I had only used the mobile a few times and turned the button to the off position to save battery life when it was not in use. At first I thought it needed new batteries, but after I installed fresh batteries, the mobile would play music but still did not rotate. After reading more reviews on this product, I realized I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. For the amount I paid, I expected a better product. Lastly, this mobile is quite heavy. The strap securely locks in place, but I was concerned about it ever falling if the strap somehow came undone. On the up-side, Fisher-Price did send me a refund certificate for the amount of my purchase.Thursday, July 11, 2013
