I'm just not sure what age this toy is for. When my baby was about 7-9 months she would turn it over and look at it. That's about all the enjoyment she has gotten from it. She just hit 1 year, so we'll see if she picks up on flipping the little pieces or becomes interested in the colors and shapes.
My son loves this toy! We got it for him for Christmas when he was 4 mo. He still plays with it at 14 months. The reverse side ( not shown) has a face painted on the middle part and the "petals" all around can be twisted and are quite flexible because they are attached with heavy duty string that has some elasticity. Now that he is older he tends to use it as a top spinning it bell side up, due to this the painted face on it has gotten a little scratched but I think it just adds a kind of "well-loved" charm. I have many fond memories of my son gumming this particular toy in his carseat. This will definitely remain in our family for a long time.

My older son had an older version of this toy that he loved until he was 3he would spin it on a hard surface that would keep him entertained for quite some time! We bought this one for our youngest, hoping it will be as big of a hit!
