Kid O Squirrel Pull Toy

I bought this toy last year for my nephew, who is now 18 months old. First of all, it's gorgeous to look at, and generally of very high quality. I love how when you pull it, the squirrel's little tail thumps up and down... so cute. There are some issues, though. First of all, the cord is very short (I'm assuming it's a safety thing, so they don't get wrapped up in it). Adding to this is the fact that the cord comes in 2 pieces with a connecting plastic bit that snaps off, really easily. I assume that's also for safety, in case it gets caught in something, but it's so annoying. I ended up tying the cord in a knot because every time he played with it the darn thing snapped off. Then there's the general design of the squirrel. He falls over really easily because the wheels are so narrow. For a long time my nephew would just drag him on his side and just get bored with him. He finally is getting it that if he's patient and watches what he's doing, his squirrel will stay upright and do something cool (he has to walk backwards to do this, which I kind of don't like). That look of joy because he accomplished something is just golden. So, overall, I feel I have to keep looking for a better pull toy that will be easier for the little one to enjoy. He'll probably keep playing with this one, but it just requires so much effort for a little kid.

My kid loves this rolling squirrel she has named Kiko. It is well put together without too many moving part. Its color is what attracted her and she loves it. If your child points this out grab one, it will make them happy.

This product didn't even make it 2 minutes before I popped it back in the box for return. Its cheaply made, something you would buy at a 99 cents store. I would have been embarrassed to give it as a gift.
