North American Bear Baby Cozy

I received this as a baby gift. I was worried about putting anything in the crib with my infant son, but this was a great and safe option. He is 2 and a half now and still sleeps with his "hippie" (actually with two of them). It is extremely soft and he loves to "snuggle" it on his face at night. I have ordered many for back-up, but we still have our orignal. I wash it regularly, and it has held up so well he cannot tell them apart. I highly recommend it as a safe and snuggly option, in lieu of a blanket, that little hands can hold on to.

I bought this toy after purchasing the pink elephant for my daughter when she was about 6 months. She loved these toys. They are the softest toys and she would just run her hands over them again and again. She also liked to play peek-a-boo with them. The head is stuffed and the body is flat. The size is perfect because it fits in a diaper bag, purse, and/or pocket! We would take this everywhere! And if it gets dirty, just toss it in the wash and its all clean! So easy and durable. Mine was washed many times and she is now 17 months and it is still like new. Great stuffed toy!

Okay, I have to take responsibility for expecting this to be more substantial, so my star rating is based on my disappointment when I opened the package. I intended to send it right back, but on reading the mostly glowing reviews I will send it along as a baby gift IN ADDITION to another gift.

I would just recommend that buyers check very very carefully about the dimensions etc so they know this is an extremely small 'blankie substitute'.

I just ordered a second one of these to keep as a backup when I'm washing the original. My 3 month old daughter LOVES this. We have the pink Flatophant since it matches her zoo nursery decor. She rubs it against her face as she's falling asleep for naps or for the night. It's the perfect size for her to manage (small and lightweight), and there are plenty of ways for her to grasp onto the lovey. There is NO rattle or crinkle sound which makes it perfect for sleep. Also, this is a great option because this product appears to be continuously produced... unlike my son's original Carters frog lovey that we bought on sale at BRU and then had to pay a bazillion dollars for another one on ebay!

Both of my girls have North American Bear flat animals. They love them and they really serve as a comfort item when they are going to bed at night, traveling or going into a new situation.
