Sing & Sounds Farm

Sing & Sounds FarmMy now 8-month-old daughter has been playing with the Sing and Sounds Farm since she was 3-4 month old. At first she was drawn to its bright colors and silly sounds, and once she developed, she began to explore its functions. She loves playing with the doors that make the sounds and recently began flipping the entire farmhouse over to examine the back and the underside. We keep this toy in her play area and she always goes to this toy first. My only concern with the farm house was that an adult has to hold it steady once the child begins trying to flip it over because it can fall and hit the child. My daugher now learned that the toy will fall if she flips it, so now she gets on the side of it, and flips it away from her. Overall, I give this product 5 stars for value and quality. The current sale price is great, I wish we had the same deal when we bought it a few months back. Makes a great gift.

This is definatly my 11 month olds fav xmas toy she got. When I purchased this from amazon it was only 9.99 So I am REALLY happy about the deal I got. Even for 19.99 it still seems worth it. It's very well made & my daughter knew how to operate it without me even showing her. She played with this for almost an hour this morning & did not touch the several other presents she got. Buy this with confidence I am sure your baby will like it as well.

This farm was purchased as a gift for my 9 month old daughter but my 4 year old son has been the one that will not leave it alone. This surprised me considering his age and the other toys he usually plays with. I've seen both kids play with this farm, sometimes together, but my son drags it around the house. It's great and by far the favorite toy received this year. From a parent perspective, the music can get a tad annoying especially when triggered over and over and over... but the kids love it. Probably the best thing I can say about this toy is that it is on my list of potential gifts for someone that I know with a small child.

I got this for my son when he was 6 months old, he's 19 months and still plays with it, but now the music broke, so just the blinking light works. That's ok, because he doesn't need that encouragement any more.

The peek a blocks are fun by themselves. They are a little slippery for stacking, but so cute to look at. I like that each block has some motion in it, and they are a good size for holding/mouthing for little ones. Of course, at first, I had to play with the farm while he watched, but he liked watching, and there was lots to tell him about. I used to put a block in his diaper bag, because he liked it enough I was willing to risk losing it and breaking up the set. I later bought more peekablocks.

It's good as an early shape sorter, since there is only one shape, still it takes effort for a little one to get the blocks in. I understand putting them in something vertical is more challenging than something horizontal. Blocks can be used for stacking too, so it delays you needing to get a full set of wooden blocks.

The sounds are fun, and it was cool watching him learn cause and effect as he opened the doors and saw what happened. It also encouraged him to work at getting the blocks in the holes. The chicken at top wobbles when you push it, and the sun goes up the slot when you spin it. That's interesting, none of his other toys have that particular motion.

The handle is nice, and you can put the blocks in it for clean up, and move it to it's spot in your house without the blocks falling out. I wouldn't consider putting it in the car that way though.

It's really a cool toy. I'd go so far as to say it's among the few must buy items for your 6-9 month old, and it will definitely grow with them.

My only negative (which I usually have lots of) is that the sound quit after a year. Nearly a perfect toy.

I bought this toy because it was on sale. In my opinion, there are much more interesting toys in our house, but my boys definitely prefer this one. They started playing with it before I got a chance to take it out of the box and played with it ever since (from 8 to 12 months). I highly recommend this toy!
