My 2-1/2-year-old LOVES this puzzle! It's a step up from her much-loved chunky wooden puzzles. The first time she tried it, it threw her for a loop because the curves on the pieces have to line up and the pieces have to fit in the layers. It also has pieces that are thinner and more delicate, so she has to use her fingertips to handle them and make them fit (as opposed to just grabbing a chunky puzzle piece with her entire hand). She tried it again and again and figured out how it works pretty quickly. She loves doing this puzzle over and over because it's so different from the others. She will be getting the fish version of this puzzle as a gift in the near future.
