Superb toy. Good idea to use families instead of the single animals. Good detail, the only thing I would say is they seem to be made of a softer plastic. They seem a bit squishy not as tough as say the gorilla. All in all though top draw, defo recommend.

I agree with others! We just got the chimp family for Christmas... what a waste. They ALL say the same thing. BUT, one of them doesn't work at all. Upon further inspection, the mom and baby one has the bottom deformed and it will not fit. All the new talkers are cheaper thinner plastic than those made last year or early in 2012. Too bad... was going to get more families, new animals, etc. but thinking again about this. Back on the deformed bottom... we also got the ostrich and it has the SAME problem. Turned it over and sure enough it's deformed on the bottom like the chimp. I looked again and both have dates of 08/12MTN on them. All the others before these are earlier dates... so, guessing cheaper plastic, not as good manufacturing quality as when these were first released, and having subpar product. Fisher Price... bummer on you! I've already contacted you about the animals not talking well before and you blamed it on the base and the batteries... well, I say bull now because these are deformed and cannot work! Go back to your original product quality or we will stop buying these!!!

These animals are perfect for his hand size as a one year old. They don't hurt when stepped on either.

My 4yr old received the zoo as a Christmas present two years ago and we have been slowing adding to the collection. She abosuletly loves the fact that now the animals come as a family and is learning about the different animals.
