TY Beanie Baby - HAPPY the Hippo

TY Beanie Baby - HAPPY the HippoMy little Granddaughter has had two open heart surgeries and numerous heart procedures, She has spent over half her life in the hospital. she is on oxygen and a feeding tube. Because she had difficulty holding her binkie we sewed the nipple to the the Hippo's nose so it could lay on her chest or on the side without if falling out of her mouth all the time. It worked wonderful. She is now 14 months old and will need to have another surgery soon, so I purchased a new Hippo beanie for her as the old one is Oh!!, my Gosh a little dirty. She loves it and when she is laying down she will hold it up and look into its very tiny eyes. We hope she will love this new one as much as she loves the old one she seems to know the difference and has not yet taken to the new one. We love it she holds it and hugs her Beanie Baby Hippo she calls it her Lulu. It will be with her again at her next hospital stay. It is very soothing for her to have it. When we are not there it is with her.

This was a Hippo Christmas! Everyone had to have one so had to look for different ones! This worked perfectly!

Manhattan Toy Whoozit Big Bang

Manhattan Toy Whoozit Big BangNothing to go crazy over...very busy toy. my little one likes it esp now that she started grabbing her toys, but it's not long enough to stretch out to most of the bassinets.

For the price I really wasn't sure this toy was going to be worth it, but my 3 month old loved it immediately! It's been a favorite for over a month now. I love how versatile it is as far as where we can put it.

MAM Twister Teether - Blue

MAM Twister Teether - BlueI must say that I think that this teether is wonderful. My 5mo son loves this. It is the perfect size for him. He can grasp and hold it easily. The rattle noise is more of a rain stick rattle (not too loud) which is nice. Each of the rubber handles has different textures on them as well as different rubber densities. Some are more chewy and others more dense. The other reviewer mentioned a rubber smell. I honestly didn't smell anything when I opened it. Plan on getting this for a friend of mine as it is my son's favorite teether.

My 4 month old is teething and i bought this thinking it would be just great for him with the different textures and different colors and the rattle. When i opened it, it had a plastic smell to it but I thought the smell would go away after washing it but it didnt. The smell is like burning rubber, pretty gross. Its 3 days after I bought it and it is still smelly.

Immediately after opening the package I noticed a smell like car tires?! And our 7-months-old son doesn't dare to play with it or chew on it. Not that I'm too sad about that because I'm convinced that nothing good can be in that product if it smells so terrible. How the heck can you manufacture a teething ring which babies have in their mouth all the time with minor quality rubber?! The quality of this product is NOT AT ALL like the usual quality you can expect from MAM-products. I believe it's because this teething ring wasn't made in Europe, but in China. I am very disappointed and do not recommend this product at all.

Alexander Dolls 12" Lullaby Bunny Baby, Play Alexander Collection

Alexander Dolls 12' Lullaby Bunny Baby, Play Alexander CollectionMy baby sucks on the dolls hand. when it gets wet it no longer plays the lullaby. button shouldnt be on the dolls hand.

First,I have to admit I'm a big fan of Madame Alexander and was thrilled to have an excuse to start buying her dolls once again. My daughter in law is expecting a baby girl next month and I decided to get started with this sweet soft bodied, vinyl faced cutie. I had my grandson squeeze the baby doll's hand and it plays a soft lullabye(not too noisy.) Also , the doll is 12' , a good size for little hands to manage. The price of the beginners doll is certainly a plus. The dolls are still in high demand and continue to sell on the secondary market. Both of my daughters had Madame Alexander doll collections. The company has made all sorts of doll collections over many decades from "Little Women" to "The Wizard of Oz" with scads of baby dolls in between. Madame Alexander is a legend in her own time and I can only hope that the company continues operating with the same high standards that she herself always demanded .

This was a wonderful gift for our new granddaughter, given from a grandma who loved dolls. Her older siblings can entertain her with it until she can do it herself.

Baby Einstein Octopus Hanging Toy, Blue

Baby Einstein Octopus Hanging Toy, BlueWe found our little guy cooing and conversing with this blue octopod that we got as a hand-me-down from another parent. His face will light up each time they meet as if they were old pals and best of friends.

Our son has required corrective casting for his feet and often is in pain, but seems to forget it all when he spends time with the octopus. We brought it to his surgery last week and it helped calm him even though he couldn't nurse for several hours before the surgery. They wheeled him into the O.R. calmly snuggled next to the octopus. We almost panicked when we realized we forgot to take it when we left him with the doctors; when the surgery was over we were so relieved to see it was again at his side in the recovery room.

Knowing we may eventually lose it and how important it has become in our strategies in calming our son, my wife searched the net until she found it here on Amazon just in case we need another. But then would that be just like trying to fix the tragic loss of a favorite pet with a look-alike? We've joked that the octopus may come alive (when we're not looking) to be his little guardian marine friend. Perhaps it's just the very friendly face and the occasional familiar sounds that it gives that ongoing reassurance when we've exhausted our abilities.

At $12, I have no reservations recommending this to a 2+ month old. It is second only to his mother as a primary attachment figure. Sometimes I'm even jealous!

We introduced Mr. Octopus (we call him that too!) to our son around 3 months and he just loved this toy. He couldn't grab yet but we would crinkle the tentacles and play the music for him. Now that he is 6 months, we can't go anywhere without this toy! He can now grab the tentacles and crinkle and chew on them as much as he wants. He chews on all the rings and snuggles with it in his car seat and the music does (most of the time) stop the bored tears. So far, I've just been spot cleaning it but does anyone know if there's a more thorough way to clean the whole body? He gets dropped/thrown on various floors a lot (restaurants) so I take it into the bathroom and dab it with paper towels but I'd just like a more thorough cleaning when we get home. It's soft, no hard edges and I feel safe letting him play with it while I do something else.

We call him Mr. Octopus or Old Blue:) We bought this toy for our daughter when she was just 3 months old, and she has loved it from the instant we showed it to her. She's now 8 months and continues to love this toy. Her whole face lights up when we get him out, or show him to her. She really likes the music and water sounds. She likes to chew on the crinkly legs, or the little rings and chewie that he has attached to him. He's soft and washes off easily. It's a good sized toy also, she can hang on to him and he's not too heavy or awkward. I would buy him again in a heartbeat!

This toy has saved the day on long car trips. My son adored this thing at the age of 4 months, when we got it. He's seven months old now, and this is still his favorite car toy. The octopus's face is so friendly that he can stare and talk to it for an unbelievably long time. He loves to grip the legs and rings, and the music is a never-fail way to stop tears and bring a smile to his face. This is a really great toy.

I love the ocean and was excited to get an ocean themed toy for my baby. However... no wonder kids these days have ADD! The music/sounds are soooo freaking short! The ocean/bubbles sound lasts ONLY 1 second, then there are 2 songs that lasts ONLY 10 seconds each. You pull, hear the bubbles sound, pull again for song #1, pull again for the bubbles, then pull again for song #2... that's a lot of freaking pulling in only 22 seconds! I am NOT exaggerating... I timed the sounds.

I would have returned it had I not torn off the packaging in my haste and excitement. Toy looks cute but dang... it was made for kids with super short attention spans!

Ahoy Baby Shower Birthday Boy Room Decorating Kit

Ahoy Baby Shower Birthday Boy Room Decorating KitSuper cute, well made and will be able to use again next year for birthday. I purchased to go along with my sons sea life themed first birthday. Obviously some pieces would look silly for an older child, but this is great first birthday decor.

Alex Toys Learn to Dress Monkey

Alex Toys Learn to Dress MonkeyThis is a really cute, happy looking monkey that actually teaches without batteries, lights or noise! He has several dressing activities, similar to Dressy Bessy and Dapper Dan. He has a zipper, buttons, straps, etc. to help the little ones learn to dress. It has a lot of detail, check out the shoes! He even has a little banana that can be stored in his pocket, which for some reason fascinates my young grandson! This is a well made, sturdy toy that my grandson loves to play with and love.

My 2 year old loves this monkey. He has fun undressing him when I put the clothes on it (he can't quite get the clothes on the monkey himself yet, but he can sure take them off!). He also loves to wear the 'monkey socks'.

Unlike many of the other 'learn to dress' toys, the individual components of this one are sturdy and well made. The buttons are oversized and are just the right size for little hands. Overall, this is great for teaching children about different types of clothing fastener.

I was looking for a doll with learn to dress features..and ran across this item. I ordered two, one for each two year old granddaughter. They are not quite old enough to perform all the tasks, but will learn. The colors are vivid, the girls love them. You need to know that every piece of clothing comes off....shoes, socks, even the shoe laces, in case you have a child who immediately takes all loose objects off!

I bought this doll for my 2 year old Granddaughter for Christmas. She likes to buckle and unbuckle things so I thought this would be a good toy for her to learn how to button, snap and tie. After she opened it and began to play with it I realized that the buttonhole was too small for the button and the snaps were extremely hard to snap and unsnap. I was thoroughly disappointed in the quality of this toy. I thought it was supposed to help a child learn not frustrate the child! Would definately NOT recommend this toy!

Like other reviewers have mentioned, the buttons are poorly attached one of ours came off the first day, within 30 minutes of play, and our little girl is very gentle with her toys. But what is a bigger issue, in my opinion, is the feet on this doll. The feet are not shaped like feet, they're just 'balls' on the end of the legs, and most importantly, they're soft. They're like round socks filled with stuffing. So getting the socks and shoes onto these 'feet' is a little difficult even for an adult, and practically impossible for a 3 year old. They feet should have been make of a hard material, like a plastic or some kind of stiff rubber, and they should have been shaped like actual feet. As it is, they are useless in helping a child learn to put on shoes and socks. Also, the zipper is cheap and a bit of a challenge to open and close. I find it quite disappointing, because this is a great idea for a learning toy, just very poorly executed.
