Fisher-Price EZ Turn Scooter

Fisher-Price EZ Turn ScooterBought this for my twin one year old boys to share. They love it! I was amazed how it moves so easily from our hardwood floor to thick carpets to tile. Ingenious design. They never tip over and it it really does steer super easy. The storage compartment under the seat is a favorite place to stow blocks, farm animals and the occasional snack.

The Fisher-Price EZ Turn Scooter's design is what caught our eye as we scrolled through dozens of potential indoor ride-on for our 21-month-old daughter (the low price of $26.99 on our purchase date, 04.11.2013, didn't hurt, either!). The colors are tasteful and while mostly blue it doesn't feel exclusively like a "boy toy" to me because of the green highlights and the resemblance to the simple elegance of a real scooter. We prefer this to choosing an animal or character-based ride-on that we hope she likes.

The only moving parts are the wheels and the seat. The handle bars don't turn so the "EZ" part of turning is all powered from your child shifting her or his body. We like this because we can clear a path in the living room and push our daughter on her scooter and know she can hold onto her handle bars and not go flying off or make a sharp turn and topple over. The storage compartment under the flip-up seat is big enough for 2-3 small toys and can make for a fun discovery game of learning about object size and spatial relationship.

Our 21-month-old daughter loves riding this around the carpeted living room and connected hardwood floor dining room. She's able to turn with ease and move herself forward and backward on both surfaces, no sweat. There's even a slight bump to get over with a 2" wood border separating the two rooms and she can get over it like it wasn't there. She is on the smaller end of the height/weight percentage chart so she flips up the green seat so she can sit a little lower and have her feet reach the ground (adjustable seat: bonus feature!). After approximately two months of use, there is slight sticker peel on the "EZ Turn" sticker where our toddler mounts/dismounts the scooter but the other stickers appear to be holding up, though if your toddler likes to pick at stickers this could be a mess waiting to happen.

Being a thinner, more upright ride-on, this scooter doesn't take up much space in the corner of the living room when not in use. We've decided this is an indoor toy and it hasn't been tested on the grass or sidewalk. I will update this review if we choose to use it outdoors.

Ordered for my 1 year old nephew. He is just learning to walk so he's having a hard time staying on. He will able to use it better once he can walk but in the meantime, my 2 year old niece is having a blast playing with it.

It's an okay toy...it's not perfect but it'll do.

my son got this when he was about 14 months and has had it most of this year. He is 20 months now. He can't ride it perfectly well because it's just kind of clunky. I don't like that the wheels dong swivel...it's not really an easy turn at all actually! lol it's still alright, he plays with it often.

Our first child hated ride ons and didn't get on the little train we had until she was 5 1/2 (far over the 36 month age rec.!)and our second baby was born! Our second child is super athletic and coordinated and loves ride ons, manages very well on them, including doing a big scooter at 18 months. So with that said, this is a fun little toy for him, he uses it in the house, making turns on it is not a problem but it DOES NOT TURN as in have a turning handlebar. I'd say size-wise maybe through 2 1/2 but not much beyond. Pretty good value, the seat lifts to hold things (we've found all kinds of things looking in there) but is small. So far we've really only used it inside and it would be good for a small house if you need an indoor activity for an active baby/toddler. If your baby/toddler is coordinated they'll do fine, if not, probably not a good toy since it won't turn etc. and if they don't seem to like ride-ons, this one probably won't make a difference to them, spend the $ on something else! PS the name EZ Turn is misleading in many ways because he DOES turn it fine but it is all about using his body not handlebars.
