My daughter received Lulu the Ladybug for her 1st birthday. Many reviews I've read about this product state that the rocker is too small for the retailer's recommended age group, but it's the perfect size for a 1 year old. The seat is nice and cushy, and supportive and she fits snugly into the seat, so I don't worry about her falling off even if she isn't holding on. By the second time we put her on the rocker, she had figured out how to rock it herself, and she really loves it! The only somewhat negative remark I could make is that the songs are somewhat high-pitched and annoying for grown up ears but on the flip side, my daughter loves them so much that I wish they played for more than a few seconds since she gets upset when they stop. My daughter also loves the fact that when she kicks the lady bug feet, they rattle and make noise. She rocks and rocks, kicking her feet and laughing the whole time. Overall, this is a wonderful first rocker! It's too bad she will probably outgrow it by her 2nd birthday!

I ordered the rocker and got it for my daughter at about 8 months old. She is a pretty small 8 mos at that (15 lbs -see photo posted above to judge size), and she fits well with room to grow. I would be surprised if a 3 year old can fit in it unless she is very petite. My daughter LOVES the rocker. Every time we walk past it, she leans down out of my arms and tries to get to it. Since she is a little young for it now, I place her on it and rock her while I hold her hands on the handle-bars to teach her where they go. I did look away once to put a camera down and turned back just as she was falling off the side, head first (thankfully onto carpet and was not hurt). It will not wedge your child in and hold her so stay close until she is old enough to manage that independently. I read the other review about it tipping forward. I have rocked it with all my might to test that and never had it happen. The rockers are not a smooth arc; they actually have a flat place so that it catches when it rocks past a certain point (which in some ways makes it a less than smooth ride, but I understand it is done that way for safety). I don't know how that child went forward unless she leaned over the handlebars and her weight took the whole thing over. Certainly, watch your child when she is on it and have her slow down if she seems to be going too fast. My daughter's favorite part is the geometric shapes that you push to create music. The songs are a bit odd, but she loves them. Every time one plays she lights up and grins at me. She is the one who discovered the buttons make music. I thought they were just decoration. It is high-quality and has a very pleasant plushness and texture. My daughter loves to lay her torso over the lady bug's head and hug it. For the money, it is a great deal. I would definitely recommend this toy, and I expect to get at least another 1 to 1 1/2 years of fun out of it.

I bought this for my daugher for her first birthday. She didn't really get into using it until she was 2. While rocking on it semi-fast, it flipped forward. I thankfully was in front of her and was able to stop it from going all the way over. Another time while she was riding it, fairly gently, it flipped over backwards. This happened a second time and each time she landed on her head. We wont be playing with this anymore and I won't hand it down to anyone else.

My 9 month old daughter received this for Christmas. She loves it! She can't really rock herself yet, but she sure tries to when the songs are playing. I'd recommend it!
