Went searching for a buckle toy because my 18 month old was obsessed with buckling my husbands sandals over & over & over again...and was happy to see that they do exist! This one caught my eye because it looked so cudly and cute with 5 different types of buckles versus just 1 like other buckle toys. The title states it is 18", but I still was shocked how big it is when it arrived, which is a good thing!! My son immediately went to work on the buckles. At first, he could only buckle a few of them and I had to unbuckle them for him...but within 2 months of having it, he can now buckle & unbuckle all 5 of them on his own. I was a tad bit worried about him pinching a finger in 2 of the buckles when we first got it because they snapped together rather firmly...but that has softened up after owning it for 2 months and now he couldn't pinch a finger if he tried. The buckles do not go all the way around, they are sewn on the sides of the monkey right under his arms...so from the back it just looks like a giant stuffed animal. The stitching on this seems to be high quality and should last through some rough tugging and pulling (my son surely has tested that on his!!). The buckles are on a ribbon-like material that is sturdy; I don't worry about him pulling the buckles off...the monkeys tail will come off before one of those buckles. I also throw it in the washing machine with no problems (note I have a front loading one so no agitator). I see this being one of his favorite toys for many more months, if not years (my 5 & 6 year old's love to play with it too). Money well spent!

Got this for 2yr old DD's birthday because of her obsession with buckles. She really didn't care for plush toys, but it looked cute and had plenty of buckles to keep her busy. She had seen all the animals online and picked out the monkey herself. The day she pulled it out of the bag, she recognized it right away and said "My Monkey" thats what she calls it. She does enjoy the buckles and plays with them regularly but as the weeks pass, she sometimes will go days without fastening or unfastening. I was worried that this toy might end up like all my kids stuffed animalsin a donation bin, but to my surprise DD has taken a real liking to buckley boo. This monkey has to be with her for all naps and bedtime. It's kind of large but she drags it around the house by holding the straps or its long tail. She does still play with the buckles at times, and it will continue to be a challenge to her until she is able to unfasten each one herself. She asks me to unfasten 4 of the five. she correctly matches the straps to fasten the matching buckle. I got this toy for christmas for my nephew who is just over 2 years old. He was engulfed with so many toys but as soon as he opened this one he was completely enamored with it for hours!! It is also very educational for his age because he has learned to match the right pattern of the belt with the right buckle. So cute!! As for durability I was a little disappointed one of the buckles tore off the belt after one week. We were able to sew it back together so it ended up ok... I bought this Buckley Boo Bear because my daughter was constantly going to her booster seat to practice with that buckle. She loves this bear. My only complaint is there is not much give in the fabric and with her little hands she needs a little extra fabric so she can manuever the buckle to properly buckle.Save 18% Off
