You may want to check whether this toy is part of the recall issued in Jan. 2008. The CPSC website shows a recall on this toy for those made in October 2007 (Recall: January 31, 2008Release #08-176)

I don't know if it applies to THIS particular batch being sold, but the above recall lists a model number and code that can be checked on the toy. If you do buy this, please check what you recieve. Kids II (the manufacturer) is offering a replacement toy.

That being said, I just got one of these gently used locally, and it is SUPER! Love the classical music, and good sound quality. I agree that the fish motor is loud.

I bought this for my first son, he'll be 2 in September. And he falls asleep with it every night. The only thing is that after awhile, the motor that makes the fish go round gets really loud...so we cut it out. Batteries last alot longer now too. YOu can adjust the volume, we have it on the lowest setting and it plays long enough for him to fall asleep. I cannot find another soother that I like for my next baby...due in 2 weeks, so I may buy this again.But not for the price listed...I bought this one for $35 in 07 so I wouldnt pay more than that now. Overall I love this soother and would recommend it to anyone.

I recently bought this turtle for my four month old son. I bought it for him because of its lights and music, because those things really appeal to him. He absolutely loves it! At night for bedtime, or for naptime, I can lay him in his crib, and turn on the turtle, and he enjoys watching it until he drifts off to sleep! It is nice to have something besides his swing to help him to. I would highly recommend this toy to any parents, its cute; it plays very sweet music and serves as a nice little night light.
