Fisher Price Growing Baby Birdie Tweeter

Fisher Price Growing Baby Birdie TweeterMy four month old son received this as a gift this past Christmas and it is a cute toy that he seems to enjoy quite a bit. He likes the noise it makes when he shakes it and the textured ring to hold onto and put in his mouth (though it's not really a soft textured teething toy). As a parent, I like it because it is a toy that makes a sound based on input from our son but it does not require batteries or use electronics. Another nice thing about this toy is that while it makes a sound when shaken, it's not too loud or overly annoying and requires a fair bit of input to make a noise (in other words, it's not super aggravating by making a loud noise with the smallest of motion). It's also really cute!

The only negatives that keep this from being a five star review is that it is identified as a 3+ month toy and I think it's a bit on the big side for that age. Even for our (now) five month old, it's a little large but it's something that I think he can grow into a bit. Also, the "bird" is suspended from the ring with ribbon. While it seems adequate I hope it holds up to lots of play, travel and multiple instances in and out of a diaper bag.

Overall, if you're looking for a cute, simple toy that is lower-tech (which in a lot of cases is a good thing these days), I would recommend this toy.

When I first showed this bird to my 4.5 mo old he laughed, which is a big deal. However, now he justs wants to chew on it. I'm hoping he'll learn how to shake it as he gets older and enjoy it again. I use it during tummy time to get him to reach for it. I would recommend this toy, it's really cute.

cute toy, but my baby scraped off the 'fisher price' emblem with his 2 teeth; ofcourse he swallowed the paint. since this is made in china, I can only assume it may have lead based paint. other than that a fun toy but is kind of hard to wash since water gets into the bird. maybe better for an older child

Bought it of my 6 month baby. He loved the toy. The tweeting sound attracts him a lot. The material is hard so I constantly watch him while he plays with it so that he don't hit himself with it.
