Safety 1st Temp Guard, Duck

As others have mentioned, the word "hot" shows up at relatively cool temperatures on this duck--somewhere around 99 degrees(F)for mine. (How do I know? Because my baby bathtub came with a built in thermometer.) That's for a good reason. If you're a new parent you're probably not very good at judging the right water temperature for your baby (I wasn't) because their skin is much thinner and more sensitive than yours. Babies need a much cooler bath than you do. It's better to err on the side of too cool than too hot.

This duck disciplines you into keeping the bath feeling only lukewarm (not hot) until you get used to how baby's water temperature should feel. Once you've got the hang of it you've still got a cute ducky for baby to play with in the bath. Not a bad deal for less than the price of your morning latte.

This duck floats well. Cute. Decent size for little hands to hold. It doesn't have a hole at the bottom because it is replaced with a blue temperature sensor where the word HOT turns white if the water is hot. Water will not get into the duck, so there is no worry about water getting in and forming residue/mold. Downside is, the duck doesn't quack. Also the temperature sensor always show HOT even if the water is tepid. Well it's alright for me because I didn't care for the sensor, I just wanted a cute duck.

To use this product, you place the underside of the duck in water for a few seconds and then remove it to see if the word "HOT" appears in bold pink letters on the bottom. If it does, you can adjust the water temperature and try again. It is a very simple tool to use. It does not tell you if the water is too cold for a baby, so you might be better off to start warmer and then adjust down to lower temperatures. I personally don't think it is necessary to buy the more expensive bath thermometers because this does the job just fine. It is also fun to use as a floating bath toy!

Duckies are a classic bath toy for a reason, and my kid loves this one! The temp sensor on the bottom is too sensitive to heat, though -it reads "HOT" if the water's even a tiny bit above lukewarm. I don't even bother to use that feature anymore!

A friend gave this to me because her little ones liked it so much. My son is 9 months old and is probably finally starting to get bored with it, but I carried it in my diaper bag (the slim shape is great for this) since he was able to grasp and hold (around 3 months) and he has LOVED it! It seems like the simplest thing, but I think he enjoys watching the smiling faces go around on the bright background. The rotating gears fascinate him, and he'll manipulate it for a good long time, long enough for me to finish shopping when he's starting to get antsy. I get way more mileage out of this than any other diaper bag toy (rattles, keys, etc.), and of course he played with it inside the house too, but I soon decided to save it just for trips out to keep his interest fresher longer.

Edit: My son is now one year, and while he's not as interested in this while shopping anymore, it does give him a few minutes entertainment during diaper changes-just enough time to keep my little gymnast from rolling over on the changing pad so I can quickly slap a fresh diaper on him. I keep a variety of rattles and toys right next to the diapers in the top drawer of the changing table for exactly this reason.

We bought this for our daughter's first birthday...she loves rolling all around the house through the rooms, bopping along to the music. This ride-on is cute and functions well. I bought this for my niece for Christmas last year, she was about 4 months old, and it was the first toy she really was able to hold. It has very soft jersey material covering soft stuffing, and it had a nice smell when I received it. Highly recommended!

My youngest LOVES this, he cannot go to bed without it. It has stained a bit after lots of teething done on it's poor ears and head. Overall though it stands up to everything! He carries it around by the neck. Worth the money!

overall this product was good and the only problem I have with it is it was delivered with half the water missing from the aquarium part at the bottom so the fish doesnt float and it doesnt make the bubbles it should. have to exchange for another one.

I purchased this soother for my 4 month-old as a change from his overhead music mobile.

~PROS~

3 different time settings:

1) lights w/ music/sounds, and movement for 6 minutes

2) lights and music/sounds for 12 minutes

3) music/sounds only for 18 minutes.

real water bubbles in the soother which is pretty neat.

3 sound types classical, lullabies and rainforest.

3 sound levels high, medium, low.

easy activation by the press of a button on the face of the unit.

~CONS~

The lights are way too bright to be a "soother".

The straps that hold the soother on are difficult to use. Once it is one it's sturdy and not going anywhere though.

More bubbles would be nice as there aren't that many.

Uses batteries pretty quickly if you use this soother regularly.

~CONCLUSION~

Other than being too bright it is a welcome addition to our son's collection. I consider this to be more of an "entertainer" than a "soother" due to the brightness of the lights. We still prefer the:

Haba Clutching Toy Little Dwarf

It's small, soft and a very sweet little face for a baby to look at. The subtle rattling sound is in the pink ball on the hat. My 6 month old could not clutch it as easily as the Haba Kringelring or other Haba wooden teethers because it is rather stout for getting little fingers around! I see it as a toy to hold for and show to my baby, rather than something to just hand to him to play with on his own. The face is printed on (the reason it does not get 5 stars) but the butterfly is embroidered.

My 7 month old was given several Fisher Price toys as a gift. The boxes didn't say whether or not they contained toxic chemicals such as BPA or pthalates, so I called the company. They said that BPA is used in their toys, but not in their high chairs. Sad! A trusted company that sells products for babies (who put everything in their mouths!) should NOT be putting toxic materials in the products.

My 15-month old son received this phone as a gift when he was 6 months old. He didn't use it much back at 6 months, but steadily his interest in it grew. He always prefers to play with my cell phone, but if I spend 30 seconds or so talking on this toy one, he'll gladly take it for a little while.

It's not the kind of toy that can amuse a child for very long, maybe 5 minutes tops (which is why I knock it down 1 star), and it really doesn't teach much, but the compact size is perfect for throwing in your bag/stroller with a few other small toys for those moments when you need to pull out something to distract your child.

As others state, the greetings are nice, very clear. Every button makes a sound, and the music is both short and pleasant to the ear. I often find Fisher Price toys very poorly/cheaply made, but this one is really quite good. It's been dropped on our hardwood floors many times, and it still works almost perfectly (the music is slightly out of tune now, probably because of the internal battery wearing down).

When we first got this phone, we were a little disappointed because it flipped closed too easily and my son couldn't open it again. Now that he is 10 months old, he really loves it, and can open and close it by himself. It is one of his favorite toys. He has even learned to say "Hi," when answering the phone because this phone says, "Hello" when it is opened. He loves pushing the buttons which make noises and music. Not that I encourage cell phone use or anything, but my 9 month old daughter loves our tv remotes, so I decided to get her a toy remote and also this toy cell phone (she hasn't gone after our phones since we don't use them much, but I figued what the heck). Well, she loves this cell phone toy more than the toy remote. We pretened to talk on it to keep her interest level up, but she finds it so much fun to open and close it that I'm not sure we really need to talk on it. When you open and close it the phone either plays a short song or says "hello" or "goodbye." It also makes the touch tone sounds when you press the numbers and has a "call" button that makes ringtones. It's a great toy! We've had it for almost a month now and my daughter still loves it, and it has held up well to sucking, chewing, dropping, and a lot of opening and closing. Not sure how educational it is? Does my kid need to learn how to use a cell phone? I guess she learns the dexterity and cause and effect of opening and closing something and having it make sounds.

I originally bought the 18" buckle bear in April 2012 but the kids would fight over it so i bought 3 more in May 2012, the 18" buckle dog, the 12" buckle bunny and the 12" buckle lion. The kids still play with them everyday and I wash them at least 2 times a week. They have held up beautifully and are VERY durable. It is fantastic for the kids fine motor skills and though they can't unbuckle them yet, they are really good at buckling them. the oldest child I have at the daycare is 23 months and they have been unbuckling them since they were about 16 to 18 months old.

I would highly recommend these buckle animals to anyone!!!

I have a 18 month old who has been playing with every buckle on every seat she gets into for the past 3 months, so I figured this would be a great toy. She loves trying to match the buckles to each other and claps every time she gets it correct. She cannot unbuckle them yet, so she drags the toy around the house to find someone to do it for her and gets started rebuckling. I think this is a great toy for her age range and it's soft enough so she can lug it around with her around the house.

I really much surprise for such bad rating of this toy!

My daughter used it from 17 to 26 month in a pool and bath every day. And only one week ago it started to leak.

It held air really good, a even didnt blow it for that period of time.

My little one really loved it to swim on it and to play with it. She even kissed it)))

So we are ordering one more! Whole season for less than $15 is it bad? It can leak of course, but well aren't you supervise your kids when swimming?

Title says it all, it never held air. Probably just a lemon but knowledge is power, we bought it to take my infant son and when we got there it really deflated our mood.

Kids Animated Optimus Prime Costume

My son loved it. It arrived before Halloween. We got the 4-6 size and it JUST fit him. He's a skinny 5 yr old. I liked that it was comfortable. We put thermals on underneath and he wore it for 3 days straight. I cannot believe the mask is still intact, but it is! It's just made out of plastic, but it's better than the flimsy ones we had as kids. :)

My son wore this costume for Halloween and still plays in it mostly without the mask because it is not the most comfortable, but he can see out of it which was important to me. It is thin but sturdy. Yeah there are cooler ones out there, but I paid less than $10 for it....

I really love the products from this company to begin with, so I had to buy the frog when I found it on Amazon! My sister is due with her first child and she is in-love with frogs right now. So, as a rule, most of us were buying cute little frog items for her. I had yet to find what I was searching for--the perfect unique product that also happens to be a FROG. It's harder than you think! This frog will be a surprise for her and I know she will love it. Pros: Very soft. Pretty light green coloring. Stripes are only on the under-belly and so do not distract form over all appearance. The chime is very soft and almost bell-like in sound quality. For the price:an excellent choice!

Cons: Not for small infants unless just for decorative purposes. Larger than you might think, but this did not bother me. It will come into use when the child is able to shake its own rattle.

My daughter received this doll as a gift when she was about 4 months old. She is now almost 3 and it is still one of her favorite toys. The doll was purchased from a specialty toy store and looks exactly like the picture. The material is cotton not polyester (as in the other customer review).

I got this because I thought my 7 month old daughter would enjoy the tactile sensation of the tags and fabric. It's kind of expensive for a plush toy but I thought that was because it's an import (from Germany) and also because it would be a superior product. I am disappointed to find out that this is made of 100% polyester. I just don't understand why toy manufacturers make baby toys out of polyester. There was no mention of this in the description. So unfortunately I will be returning this for a refund. If you don't have a problem with the fiber content I'm sure it's a fine toy for your child. I can't bear the thought of giving it to my baby so 2 stars it is.

First note that you don't get the exact figures on the box. The box shows: green turtle, red crab, and blue starfish. We got a green turtle, red starfish, and a blue fish. We are fine with this, just wanted to let others know. You do get the blocks as it says on the box, they are just in different colors.

I bought this for my 10 month old son for Christmas. He likes to throw the half circles around and chase them. The do rattle which he also seems to enjoy. My three year old also likes to play with these. He finds it weird that the pieces will push away from each other.

The magnets are not really strong so they don't pinch little fingers when attracted to each other. These are great little blocks. These are a great not made in China toy.

We received this as a gift, and it was deceptively plain and simple at first glance; five magnets (two "hockey pucks" and three half-spheres) and three rubber animal shells. But we found it entertaining for quite a long time, like a good set of blocks.

The magnets fit into the animals, stick to each other, float, stick to the bottom and sides of the tub (if you have a cast iron tub)...my 11-month-old stuck two magnets together, then pulled them apart, then stuck them together, pulled them apart. When he dropped one and picked it up upside down, he tried for a little while to figure out why they wouldn't stick together any more. My older kids enjoyed playing with these as well.

I bought this when my baby was 10 months old and he did not immediately have much interest in it. But once he realized how he could stack the pieces together it was a huge hit. First he played with it out of the bath, but later I used in the bath when he got bored with his other bath toys. He played with this set longer than anything else he has. He just loved how he could put them together and pull them apart. Sometimes he would get frustrated when he couldn't put them together the way he wanted to (since they are magnets they have to face the right way to attract obviously). But overall I just cannot say enough good things about it. Not many toys hold my son's attention for this long. He also loved chewing on the rubber pieces and they held up fine until just recently when he was teething and chewing like crazy. I took them away temporarily when I noticed a very small cut in the rubber. But like I said, under normal chewing they showed no wear at all.

My son just got a metal bed with a slide and these magnets stick all over the bed really well, even on the railing. So cool! Something I didn't think of when I bought them. My kids who are 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 LOVE playing with these and making little creations. My son makes towers with them. He made something that looked just like a train, the other day. I was pretty impressed. My daughter loves to stick them on things, rattle them, stack them, and stick them together then pull them apart over and over again. I was looking for a crawling plush toy, but just can't seem to find one. This one is cute, though. You push a spot on his back and he actually vibrates, rather than crawls, which is what moves him across the floor. It has to be a hard floor and not carpet, and he moves for the duration of a very short song.

Although the turtles are adorable, they really don't walk. The toy vibrates, so if it is on a hard surface it sort of just shimmies along a few inches. Also, this one doesn't go in a straight line but bears left, so you can't even follow it anywhere. It doesn't move at all if it is on carpet. It holds my son's attention for about 10 seconds. Overall, it's not as much fun as I'd hoped it would be.

Like previous reviews, it does work best on a hard surface floor. It's soft and nice for a newly mobile baby because it doesn't move very fast.

The music, however, is horrid. It's very loud and sounds like the tone of a fire alarm. You can't make the turtle move without the music playing. I couldn't stand it so I opened up the electronic compartment and snipped the wires to the speaker. Problem solved.

I wanted this toy to help my child begin to move on the floor but by the time I purchased it he had learned to crawl. I really like this toy because it's durable and has the pack inside that plays music and makes it shake. Because the pack is removable I can launder this toy and I am VERY happy about that. The baby turtle has a squeaker in it. My son loves this toy. He is now 9 months but still loves to press the button and feel it shake and play music. I have to admit finding this toy at Goodwill for less than $5 and do not feel it's worth more than $10 retail. Which is why I didn't buy it early on. Since we haven't put it to the test (baby is due in august and it's recommended for 3 month olds), I'll give it 4 stars for quality and aesthetics, and the fact that my wife likes it.

The animals were rather smaller than I thought. The velcro is very strong and my 7 month old isn't able to pull them apart to even stack them. You would have to be very strong to do this. The price is a bit high for this purchase. I do like the quality and color/fabric choices
