I have purchased many Kathy Kruse and Haba toys this month, and this is one fine product. Highly engaging and the finest German craftsmanship. You are paying a premium, but this toy is made with pride. Not cheap crap made in a sweat shop by slave chinese labor. Go ahead a splurge, stop buying Chinese toys at Wal-Mart and watch your newborns eyes glaze over with enchantment and engagement.

My mom gave this to my son as a baby gift. We love it! It can be attached to anything from the velcro strap that's on the head. When you pull the longer leg, the whole octopus shakes. I attach this thing to whatever is close to my son since the vibrating motion always distracts him and puts him in a trance for a second which is great for when he's cranky. It also helps while feeding when he is fussing since he can't take his eyes away from the octopus dancing in front of him. It's been a godsend.

I am a big fan of Kathe Kruse products. They're durable, safe, well made, and they're all from Europe which I love. I know that when I buy something that's Kathe Kruse brand, I am definitely getting my money's worth. When I saw this I ordered one because I love how this looks and I love trying out new, interesting toys. This octopus cracks me up and is SO adorable in real life! My daughter loves it too. I hang it on her car seat during car trips and hang it on the stroller handle when we go for walks. On the top of the octopus there is a long "strap" that has velcro on it so you can really attach it to anything. It appears that she's as amused by it as I am. I also have a hard time finding fun items like this that are amusing for both her and I that don't end up looking intimidating. We've had a few toys come in our house that absolutely terrify her. Thankfully Kathe Kruse seems to know what kids like and I haven't run into that with any of their products.

The BEST part about this octopus? If you notice in the picture that the third leg in from the left looks kind of funny, it's because it's bunched up. If you pull on that leg, it stretches out and when you let go, the whole octopus shakes! My daughter laughs hysterically every time I do it and it's not too difficult to pull out so she's starting to catch on. From the product description I didn't know it would vibrate so I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled on the leg and the little octopus started shaking like crazy

I love this goofy looking, vibrating octopus. It's also a good size for my daughter to grab on to and pull on (it's 5 1/2" from the top of the head (not including the strap) to the shortest leg), it's super easy to clean (she seems to like to try chewing it), and it's held up really well. Oh and did I mention it's super cute AND it vibrates? Definitely pick one up for your kids -or for yourself!

This sash is cute and fun. Great for baby showers and I got it for my friend to wear on mothers day before her baby arrived.

It was a cute idea, but it never remained in place. My big belly kept causing it to turn over. I even tried to pin it, and it did not stay in place.

Gund Huxley 20" Brown Bear

I received this beautiful jointed bear only to discover that the bear's joints did not work and the bear could not be posed so I returned it to Caught By Surprise where I ordered it from. The problem was due to bad Chinese manufacturing practices. Initially I gave Caught by Surprise a 3 star rating as I was so disappointed with the bear's functionality, but now, after they responded with my complaint promptly with sensitivity and professionalism, I want to give them a higher rating.

Very soft. Seems well made. got it for my newborn so I still don't know how it will hold up to toddler bashing ;)

Boikido Wooden Percussion Table

I adore this little percussion table, it definitely has the cute factor and my 14-month old loves to play with it (as well as his 3 year old brother). The only issue we have it that it does tip over easily if any weight is put on the table on either side of the cymbal. I am afraid he will climb on top and topple over, so I can't leave this out when I am not watching closely. I would love to see the manufacturer substitute 2 legs spread out on the back side instead of only 1 in the middle. Otherwise, it is a very nice toy and totally worth the price!

My baby loves this percussion table! It also required very little assembly (yay!) and doesn't take up too much room (double yay!) The only problem with it is that it is a bit unstable and she pulls it over on herself very easily. Therefore, I don't plan to let her play with this without me right there.

I bought this stylish combo of drum, cymbal and xylophone on impulse at a local shop. I nearly returned it the next day due to complaints on this site about it tipping over and the potential for kids to destroy the drum skin. But desperate to entertain my bored 10-month-old lad, I tore it open--and with no regrets.

It is definitely tipsy, apparently because of a design compromise to make it lightweight and easier to ship. But after a few hours of sporadically satisfactory play he figured out that it's just not for standing on: you have to sit down to play with it. The way I see it, the table helped him to actually reason something out. I'm not sure the tippiness is a net negative.

Regarding the drum skin's proneness to damage, we've had the table for 8 months now and the skin's still in very good condition. There are a few small concavities from vigorous pounding, but it sounds brand new. I did work with him several times to hold the drumstick properly, which probably helped.

My biggest complaint is that the xylophone sounds flat. You can still play a fun chiming tune on it, but it definitely doesn't ring out, especially in comparison with the high-volume cymbal and drum. I'd buy it again, partly because I just think it's fun.

I first saw this toy in the Metropolitan Museum of Art Christmas catalogue. When I went to buy it from them they were no longer selling it. I should have realized that this was a bad sign. But I thought is was so cute, and my daughter, who was going to be 16 months by Christmas, is fascinated by music. I should have paid more attention to the reviews. The table is indeed cute. What is not cute is that the xylophone is completely out of tune, and it is difficult to get it to make noise. You have to hit the keys just right. How is a small child supposed to hit the keys just right? The drum and cymbal are better, but the drum is very small, and she gets bored with it very quickly. The table is also a funny height, if she is standing she has to stoop to reach it. And if she sits on something her knees tend to hit it. She is not large for her age, exactly 50th percentile in height. One reason I liked the idea of the table was that it would be too big for her to throw out of her play corral, however it is so light that she can still throw it out, and knock it over, and drop it on her foot, or my foot. She spends more time knocking it over and dropping it than she does playing it. It's really not worth the money.

Alex Jr. I Can Cook Toy

Great toy! The Alex Jr. "I Can Cook Toy" is really a "fill and dump" toy and a great one at that. Its creative design gives babies 6 months or older different colorful fabric textures to feel (and sometimes taste) including the really cool shiney fabric used for the cooking pot w/ lid that crinkles to baby's touch. Additionally the toy has sewn in fabric noodles and pasta bow ties that are really fabric "tabs" that babies like to play with and shake. Inside the fabric pot are three soft toy rattles and squeeker toys that look like a carrot, a turnip, and a tomato which my baby loves to teeth on, toss and shake for long periods of time.

I bought this for my 10 month old daughter. She likes it when we sing the "On Top of Spaghetti" song and I thought she'd enjoy having a spaghetti pot, too. She loves the sound the radish makes and likes to toss the pot around (it crinkles). She tries to shake the carrot like she does the radish (holding it by the leaf) and doesn't seem to understand why the carrot won't rattle (it squeaks but she's not strong enough to squeeze it yet). She loves the spaghetti and bow ties she enjoys chewing on the knots (they don't crinkle or make any sounds, though). When looking at this online I was afraid the spaghetti was removable and thought she may put it in her mouth and possibly choke on it. However, the spaghetti is sewn in and does not come apart from the pot, so it's safe for her to play with. This is a very cute toy, lots of sounds & textures, baby plays with it daily and I'd definitely recommend it!

My seven-month old LOVES this toy. She likes to pull the vegetables out of the pot, shake them, thrown them and try to eat them. She also tries to eat the pot and the spaghetti bows. We're just starting to work on teaching her how to put things "in" the pot and shut the lid.

We have a number of toddler friends who also gravitate to this toy when they're at our house. I can see how this will be a toy my daughter can grow with from a developmental standpoint.

Sesame Street 1st Birthday 8 3/4in Centerpiece

I don't know why Amazon has this come up with a toy review, but this is not a toy. It's a party decoration. As such, it is fine. It is easy to assemble, just fold and insert a few tabs. They stay independently. I used mine indoors only. And they added a lot of color with little effort and money. They lasted through the party and I was able to reflatten them and save them. I can't remember if I needed to use tape to secure them.

Jellycat Noodle Racoon Small

After paying close to $19 for this item (including shipping), I was VERY disappointed to see how small it was. It's a very cute stuffed animal but not worth $14 in my opinion.

Under The Nile Asparagus Toy

I bought this as well as the green bean for the same company. The asparagus try is MUCH to large for my 3 month old son to chew on. However, the toy is well made any very cute. Compared to the asparagus, the green been is tapered at the end, so he can actually chew on it. I think once he gets a little bigger the asparagus will be a hit.

I already owned the Under the Nile eggplant toy. My now 2 year old has used it since she was a newborn. I now have a 1 year old daughter who loves these toys too. My 1 year old enjoys carrying these around and chewing on them as she cuts teeth. I love under the nile! I was amazed at the size of this toy. It is really hard to find teething items for young babies! My son began teething at 2.5 months and this was just too big for his mouth. But it is a great teether none the less. I think once he starts eating actual solid asparagus and he can relate the two items then he is going to have a lot of fun with it!

Amazing Animals Panda

I just wanted to let everyone know that this item is WAY overpriced on amazon. It's priced $6.99 (regular price) at Toys R Us and I just bought it for $5 at Big Lots.

It's a really cute toy, along with all the others in the "amazing animals" set. My 6 month old loves them!

My 4 month old just loves this toy. It is perfect for when she is playing in her Bumbo with the tray on. It grabs her attention visually, as does the clicking noise made when the head, arms and legs move. The success I've seen with this toy have led me to purchase more toys in the Amazing Animals line.

I think all the amazing animals are super cute, my baby and I love all the colors and textures and sounds. I don't however think that they a good baby toys, they are just too big and heavy for a baby to play with and enjoy on his or her own. I got these when my son was a baby and he was never into them, now I have a baby girl and she doesn't like to play with them either. I don't recommend these toys.

Looking at the Panda you wouldn't think it is much, but this occupies my daughter for a long time. We have several of the Fisher-Price Amazing Animals and she loves them all. I highly recommend them. She loves to move the limbs around and hear the clicking noise they make.

I thought this toy was adorable when my sister sent it for my baby boy. He got it at about 6 months old and he liked the colors and played with it often. The older he got the less he played with it. He's 23 months now and hasn't played with it in about a year.

IMO it was a waste of money, it didn't have any longevity. Oh well, it was a gift.

Baltic Amber Teething Necklace

This necklace is well made. I couldn't figure out why it was taking soo long to get to me but then when it came and the postage was from Lithuania, I got it!! I'm only giving it 3 stars because I'm not so sure it's making a difference. I have it on my baby's neck during the day and her ankle at night, skin contact but I still need to give her Motrin. I'm not sure....

Haba Cozy Chicken Clutching Toy

I purchased this toy for my 10 month old niece for Christmas. So far, she seems to be enjoying it. I don't think there's much more I can say, other than it's of the same great quality of the other Haba toys of purchased her. It seems to be well above the average quality of most children's toys these days, and gives you the impression that it will last for years to come. Great product from a great company, aesthetically pleasing, and ~1 year old kiddos seem to like it. Sounds like a winner to me!

I bought this for my girlfriend who just had a baby girl. When it arrived at my house (I wanted to wrap it and give it to her myself) I opened it, and thought it was so incredibly cute that I didn't want to give it away! But I have two boys and they are older... so I decided it was best to resist. Sigh. She loved it... baby too.

It seemed durable and well made and it makes a lot of those "crinkly" noises that babies love. Enjoy!

I bought this and was very excited to put it in my baby girl's Easter basket. I ended up returning it and the seller wasn't great to work with. The description said that it had a chime sound when shaken. Yeah, if you shake it as vigorously as you would shake a can of spray paint! But what baby is going to do that? When I told them it didn't chime, they wrote back that they had received my return but that there was nothing wrong with it. I had to argue with them to get my refund. I wouldn't recommend buying this and definitely not this seller.

My 5 month old loves this toy and has since about 4 months. The squeaky chirp makes him smile and he loves chewing on her beak. He loves the crinkling nest and it is easy for him to play with because it is so light. We love haba and so far this chicken along with the kringerling, magic balls, and color snake clutching toys are his favorites.

My daughter received this kitty as a gift for her 1st birthday and she absolutely adores it! She is always patting it and giving it hugs, which is something she hadn't previously done for any other stuffed animals. Fortunately it also washes up well, I've put it through the washer (front loading) and the dryer (on low) and it came out good as new.

Incredibly cuddly! The corduroy has an appealing texture that typical animal "fur" doesn't, while still being extremely soft. I'm a stuffed animal junkie, and this is the most huggable one I've found yet. Plus, the bright pink color and long tail makes it just plain cute. :) It has a solid body that makes it comforting to hold, and it's weighted gently so that it easily sits up if you prefer to display your animals rather than cuddling them (though I suspect you'll find this one irresistible!).

We received this cat as a baby shower gift and it pretty much stayed in a pile of stuffed animals for a long time. One day, when our daughter was around a year old, she just picked it up and named it. Ever since then, she carries it around everywhere she goes and never sleeps without it. We even bought another one as a backup in case something ever happened to the original. Our daughter is now over two and a half and she still sleeps with it. It has been through countless washes and it still looks great. The ears and the tip of the tail are a bit chewed up but none of the stitches have ripped, it has kept its shape and the color hasn't faded.

This is adorable. My grandson loves the satin binding and satin underneath. It is a lot easier to have him pack it around rather than dragging a large blanket around. He loves the rattle sound in the head of the bear. Very sweet.

Russ Berrie Yomiko Newborns Bichon Frise 8.5"

My Bichon loves "Animal" stuffed animals. I buy her these online and the one called "Muffin". So far this dog has been a durable dog tog! Its not as movable as some of the other stuffed dogs but thats obvious from the pic.

Very cute and adorable. I gave it with a group of other stuffed toy "puppies" as a baby shower gift and the future mom just loves him. Definately worth the price.

BKids Stack 'N Roll Little Golf

ALEX® Jr. Click Click Camera

I am an avid photographer and I always have a camera at the ready. Seeing this toy at the bookstore, I thought how adorable, now my son can carry around a camera just like Mom! But no, this toy is actually very stupid, no matter what button you click, it makes a baby giggling sound... why? I don't get it. The camera clicking sounds are great if not often enough. I wish it would just make a click sound when you click the button or said smile then click... Something that is actually related to taking pictures. My son sees me take pictures and observes what goes on while I'm doing it. Whether I say "Cheese?" or "smile" or "Look here!" Anything relevant to taking pictures would have been great. I gave it two stars for the mere fact that it looks like a camera and has the cute click button with the click sound (even thought its a minute after you push the button!)

I bought this for my one year old and she just loves it. The button to take the picture is a little hard for her to push but she smiles anytime I hit it. She can easily hit the button on the front that plays music. She loves to look at her reflection in the camera too!

The camera is very cute. We received it as a gift and it was branded Hap P Kid Toys. The exact camera is 7.99 without the Alex Toys brand. I do love Alex Toys, but I don't think the name justifies the additional $5.00.
