Munchkin Twisty Teether Ball, Colors May Vary

Munchkin Twisty Teether Ball, Colors May VaryAs much as my 5mo loves this ball I can't give it any lower than a 5 star review even though there is room for improvement (as I will detail below). The ball has ten different "nubs" on it with different textures around them and my baby LOVES chomping on them. The nubs are each about the width of my thumb which is perfect for him as it is my thumb he would otherwise be chomping on (or his own fist). A drool bib is a good idea to have on babies at this stage as the gnawing on stuff tends to produce a LOT of slobber.

Please note the ball is SURFACE CLEAN ONLY! Because of the twisting apart (where it makes a ratcheting sound that baby likes and isn't too obnoxiously loud like some other toys, it is also a quiet rattle when shaken), water CAN get into it if immersed (doesn't seem to be letting too much drool in though). One reviewer claims that it smells terrible, I have a VERY sensitive nose and ours doesn't smell after about a month of constant use (it is baby's favorite inanimate object, so much so that we just purchased a 2nd one to have one for home and one for car/out & about). A commenter asked another reviewer and didn't get a response yes, it is made in China.

As for improvement, one annoying thing is that there is no way to secure it to prevent it from hitting the floor when baby drops it (which babies love to do even when they DO have coordination enough to hold onto something). I solved this personally by putting a small hair elastic around it(fits between the ratchety part and the nubs so it still twists), then using various things such as pacifier clips and link rings through that to secure it to baby carrier or high chair at a restaurant. Having a way to tether the thing with those linking rings would be a MAJOR improvement IMO and could be achieved by redoing the mold so that one (or two) of the nubs has a hole through it that a holder can go through. It could also be improved by having some gel inside to stay cold after being in the fridge could be cool to even just have that in SOME of the nubs instead of all of them as I bet babies would LOVE to compare the different temperatures in their mouths (and that also lets parents know if it's worth keeping it in the fridge, if baby doesn't seem to prefer the cold nubs over the regular ones). If there was a way to allow it to come apart so it COULD be immersed and washed thoroughly that would also be an improvement particularly for the more germphobic among us. I get around this myself by only immersing it half at a time and being careful not to get the center split into the water, surface-cleaning that part afterward, but I'd love to be able to like press-and-twist like a pill bottle to get it to open and be able to drop it into a dishwasher or at least a dishbin of soapy water. I wouldn't trade the ratcheting sound and such for that, though, as my son gets a lot of enjoyment from that. If that is particularly a big issue for you, it seems there are other one-piece products on the market that may suit you better.

Oh, and we call ours "the Nom Ball" (as in nom-nom-nom current parlance for the act of chewing on something). It's the for-nomin'-on in our house (say it fast, it's a very bad pun)

This teether looks better live, it's well designed and the colors are much brighter than what's shown in the picture. When you twist it, it makes a cool clicking sound. I know my baby would have loved this toy, but the reason I didn't give it to her was that the one I received had what appeared to be dried crusty glue around the seams that would not wash off no matter how hard I scrubbed. I can't possibly give this to my baby to put in her mouth. Too bad. The cost of this item doesn't justify paying postage to return it, so maybe I'll let my daughter play with it when she stops putting everything in her mouth.

Don't buy this toy. It smells toxic like a dead animal. I even tried to clean it with soap and water to no avail. I can't imagine giving this to my twin girls. I throw it in the trash where it belongs.

We received this one as a gift. Our daughter loved it but I was leery b/c of the bad plastic smell it had. It isn't listed as bpa-free so I decided it wasn't worth keeping and opted for safer options.

If your baby is in the stage of trying to crush your knuckles with his gums, this teether is the one for him. Easy for baby to hold. Not as easy for baby to smack you with as with other teethers. Not so big that baby smacks himself, either. I think baby will like this teether best.

Tiny Love Developlay Activity Center

Tiny Love Developlay Activity CenterMy son loved his Tiny Love mobile, and I thought the activity center would be a nice replacement when he grew out of it at 5 months.

Well, not so much. The supposedly simple side for younger babies features a musical smiley face button and a squeaker that require LOTS of force to make them work. My son is now 7 months old and he still can't operate them. (But he CAN use the little squeaker on the other side!) The knocker with the rattle also needs a lot of force, and even if you do manage to move it, it hardly produces any sound as it only moves a fraction of an inch. The two spinners are great and he loves those, but you can get those on any activity center. The unit is quite tall, and so far, whether lying in his playpen or sitting on the floor, he can only reach these bottom two toys.

On the other side, the toy that pops out and giggles is a lovely idea but we just can't get that door close and STAY closed. I went to a store and tried every one on the shelf and they all had the same problem. So he can't play with that feature either, really. And you need to move the lever for the spinner just so, at the right speed and with the right amount of force if you want the disc to spin.

Then, most disappointing of all, there's the music. The horrible, frenetic, tinny, nasty music that was such a shock after having the Symphony in Motion mobile. It sounded so bad that I was sure the batteries had run down, but even after replacing them it sounds the same cheap and incredibly irritating. As did all the other models in the toy store.

On the plus side, the toy is really solid, made of good quality plastic, and the colours and the design are lovely and bright and attractive.

It's outrageously expensive I live in Europe so we paid about $75 for it especially considering most of the activities are useless. I'm quite annoyed that poor old Grandad shelled out so much money for it, and didn't keep the receipt. We actually get more fun out of the old FP activity center we bought on ebay for a couple of dollars to keep at Grandma's. Lesson learned new and expensive isn't always best!

My wife bought this Activity Center because we love the Tiny Love toys, and with this one we were not disappointed. Our son plays on this for hours, both sides. We were somewhat disappointed that more than just two songs are available, and after time, you will be humming them in your sleep. The only concern I had with this toy was the two small yellow plastic loopholes on the bottom of the toy. While flipping it over, hung or not on his pack and play, one of my son's fingers would get stuck in the hole and he could not figure how to remove it tight fit. He would then panic and bend his finger back, causing him to cry out in pain or distress. I removed the loops and filed them down so this would not happen again. Not sure why they are there. Despite this, this is a great toy.

We've had this toy since my daughter was 3 months old & she's now 7 months old. We love it. She loves to push all the different buttons & listen to all the different sounds it makes. It's very colorful! My daughter will sit in her crib & play with this toy for a long time after she's woke up from a nap or in the morning. It's wonderful b/c you can hang it on the side of the crib or put it on the floor for her to play with. I would recommend anyone to buy this toy.

I bought this for my son about 3 months. This was the lowest recommended age on the product and he had just moved into his crib. I thought he would love to play with this while he was in there. He didn't, even with my encouragement he would just look at it for a few seconds. Now though at about 8 months he enjoys it. I do like the fact that it grows with him. The first side is for 3-9 months and the second side is for 9 months and up. I love Tiny Love products, but they may need to adjust the age on this one to 6 months and up.

Want Tiny Love Developlay Activity Center Discount?

We've received this toy as a gift from our friends and i liked the idea of 2 sides (is like having 2 new toys at once). But then, when we tried playing with it i didn't like several things:

1) side 1

has a really hard to squeak thing,

hard to pull hammer

pretty far located smiley face so the baby playing with it as an activity table (not crib mounted) won't easily reach and press it

smiley face could have more than 1 melody playing

It results in that side having only 3 things to play for the baby at 6-8 months: spinning flower, spinning ball and a mirror

2) side 2

the most i don't like in this toy (both sides) is the music of those 4 musical instruments buttons. It sounds not like it's a baby toy but like it's some kind of tool to horrify the baby. We have pretty much musical toys and none of them has the music which is soooo unpleasant. My baby just looks at tose buttons as she looks at strangers she doesn't like.

pop-up thing could have a better holding door (opens easily) and prettier "animal" inside.

the squeaky knob on this side is hard to push even for me.

To summarize i'll just say that as for me even 2 sides are not worth the money!

I don't like it at all!

Kidz Delight My Discovery World, Blue

Kidz Delight My Discovery World, BlueI bought this for my three-year-old son before my husband and I had to leave on an extended overseas trip. The map was useful for showing him how we were going to take an airplane from the States to the Philippines. My only complaint is that in order for the sounds to work, you have to place the map on a solid surface. It won't work in the car or on the carpet. Actually, one more complaint, there is an option to play a game where you match an animal sound to the picture of the animal, but all of the sounds are pretty much the same. If your child doesn't like to sit at a table while playing with his toys, he probably will never play with this toy.

Some continents and animals have no sound and they should. The plane doesn't work as I thought, you have to press it really hard to get a sound.

Buy Kidz Delight My Discovery World, Blue Now

The interactive map is a cute idea, but it's hard to use. You have to push really hard on the surface for it to recognize it which was hard for my son and for me.

BuckleyBoo BuckelyCat 12" Blue

BuckleyBoo BuckelyCat 12' BlueI really wanted to give this toy five stars, because my toddler LOVES this cat, and it kept her busy for long periods of time on a car trip. Awesome! But the first day she played with it, two of the three buckles came off (the seams unravelled on the ribbons). I had to sew them back on with a tiny hotel sewing kit as she cried hysterically....not fun.

My niece is obsessed with buckles at the moment, so I thought this would be the perfect gift for her. She is 17 months old and pretty advanced for her age. The plush itself is great, very soft and high quality. My only complaint is that the buckles were very stiff and hard to work. I had a hard time getting two of them open, so there was no way that a toddler would have an easy time of it. Hopefully they will loosen with time. There was not a lot of play in the straps, either which made it more difficultwould have liked a little more wiggle room for little hands.

Buy BuckleyBoo BuckelyCat 12" Blue Now

My daughter is very into buckles so this gift is perfect for her. The doll is cute and simple and she can clasp and unclasp the 3 different buckles leaving me time to do some chores. The clasps are difficult to unlock so it will take awhile for a toddler to get the hang of it.

Kathe Kruse Rainbow Baby Doll, Red

Kathe Kruse Rainbow Baby Doll, RedReally pleased with this purchase as it is cute, the fabric is soft, and the teething part is a lovely beech wood. My daughter is only newborn so I don't know if she will actually use it, hence 4 stars overall rather than 5. It is only small, around 16.5cm, but so adorable. As per the other reviewer, the colour is deep orange rather than bright red. That is fine with me, as I love orange but buyer beware.

Quick warning about the color of this toy: It's not red. It's a deep, bright orange. It's still very cute and very sweet and gender-neutral, but it's not a pure red. This only matters to me because red is my baby girl's favorite color, but she doesn't seem as madly attracted to the orange as she is to all things red.

In any case, I still like the toy and she still likes it too. It's not her very favorite (she shows teething preference for her plastic keys and her little Haba wooden toys like her froggie and ring-rattle), but she still likes it. She gnaws on the head and chomps down on the ring. She loves feeling the little antennae with her mouth and scratching the fabric with her fingernails.

I think it's cute and I like that it's free of BPA and other questionable substances. I leave it in her crib in case she needs something to chew on at bedtime. I'm pleased with it, just might choose a different color if I were to do it again.

Buy Kathe Kruse Rainbow Baby Doll, Red Now

My four-month-old daughter is in the early stages of learning how to use her hands. The Kathe Kruse ring doll is a wonderful toy for this stage. She can grasp the soft cloth body or curl her fingers around the wooden ring, so she is able to lift it no matter where her hands land on it. The doll is easily laundered and the wooden ring can be cleaned with a sponge or rag, so everything can be kept clean and safe for chewing.

Want Lil Characters Unisex-baby Infant Poodle Costume Discount?

I bought this costume for my daughter who is 16 months old. Costume is very cute and we got lots of compliments, but it didn't look quite as cute as it did in the picture. The hat sits up a bit high and the bows are a much brighter pink that don't match as well. THe costume fit my daughter very well we got a 12-18 month size, but my daughter is in the 10th percent for weight and 25th percent for height, so I would recommend ordering a bit big. My daugher thinks it is cute and loves to look at the picture of the girl on the package wearing the costume, but she doesn't like to wear it so much. She likes to be a bit more free. The costume is pretty warm, and my daughter wore it just a couple of days ago to a halloween parade and carnival in very warm weather (for Iowa) and I think she was too hot in the costume, but if it gets really cold for Halloween I don't think she will be warm enough, so hopefully it stays fairly nice and doesn't drop below freezing.

PlanToys Mini Roller

PlanToys Mini RollerMy daughter is very particular about the toys my grandchildren can have. My grandson is at the stage wherein he loves trucks and things that have moving parts. This wooden toy is well made and should withstand tough and tumble play.

I bought these for my five week old son, who won't be able to play with them for at least a few more weeks, but I just LOVE them. I have been very pleased with all the wooden toys by this brand, and think the quality is far superior to other wooden toy brands I have tried. For now, they look great on the bookshelf in his room but I am confident that he will love playing with them in the very near future.

Nuby Look At Me Mirror Toy

Nuby Look At Me Mirror ToyI've never written a review before but felt compelled to since I value the opinion of others so much on amazon. I was super excited to get this since my 4-mo old son loves mirrors, we wanted a teether, it's BPA free, inexpensive, and had good reviews. Well, in this case you get what you paid for…cheap. The paint surrounding the mirror (yellow and blue) is cheaply done and the biggest concern is it's CHIPPING OFF. It went straight into the trash. No baby of mine will be sucking on something that has paint chipping off unless it's a food-based paint or something non-toxic, which this isn't. Buyer beware!

Bought this toy because I was looking for a small toy with a mirror. You get exactly what you see.

It is very sturdy and holds up well for whatever a teething 6 month old can put it through. The beads for the rattle are a little large to make all tht much noise but, they seem to be good to chew on.

Read Best Reviews of Nuby Look At Me Mirror Toy Here

At the beginning I thought this was a great toy or my 5 month son at the time. Well after a few times playing and chewing on it, he accumulated so much saliva in his mouth plus the side parts go too far in his mouth it seems, he would gag and almost choke. I prefer my son use the regular teether rings which work so much better. I think my son likes the mirror and enjoys holding onto the handles.

Want Nuby Look At Me Mirror Toy Discount?

This is a good toy that has many functions that I was looking for and it is easy and well sized for traveling in the diaper bag or putting in the car seat with my child. I am giving four stars because the beads on the small arch are to small to be maneuvered by an infant when cleaning the toy, I even have trouble moving the beads. The beads should be a bit bigger so an infant can actually manipulate them. They get stuck in place. Otherwise a nice toy.

Alex Little Hands Talk of the Farm

Alex Little Hands Talk of the FarmWhat a piece of junk. The construction of the truck and the mat is indeed durable but don't be fooled by the description "effortless interactive toy"...like I was...you have to drive back and forth over the notes that make it 'interactive' and press hard. My two year old can't press hard enough to make it play. And the 'music' that the truck plays is about 4 repeated notes, incessant repetition that will send you over the edge in just minutes. My son even says "no" and turns it off himself.

If Santa had kept the packaging, this would already be on its way back to where it came from.

The Talk of the Farm play mat set is cute. The design is simple a sturdy, flat, colorful mat (big enough for a little one to get down on for play, but not so big it takes over a room) that's designed to look like a farm, with various enclosures for the cheerful-looking animals. With its farm-animal theme and little red pickup truck, it looked like a great idea for my 18 month old son, who loves trucks and animals equally. So far, it's been a fairly popular choice among the toys he plays with daily, though he doesn't really play with it in its intended way at this point. Kids are *supposed* to drive the included truck over the mat, stopping at designated spots (marked by musical notes) to hear the "talk of the farm" soundbites about the farm, its animals, and suggestions on what part of the farm to visit next. He'll turn on the truck (which plays a simple, upbeat melody as it rolls along) and dance as he pushes it across every surface in our home EXCEPT the mat. He'll get down on the mat and point to the various animals and make their sounds. He'll even add his own animals to the mat, putting a toy cow on top of the cow pasture, for example. But he has no interest in placing the truck on the "right" spots on the mat and hearing what the mat has to say. At this point, I don't know if it's because he hasn't really connected the talking with the location of the truck, or if he simply prefers his own thoughts and sounds to what the mat has recorded. In either case, he's happy to play with the parts, and that's really all that matters. All in all, this was a good purchase, especially at a discounted price I wouldn't have paid MSRP for this one, but for what I spent, my little guy's getting a good return.

Buy Alex Little Hands Talk of the Farm Now

My son who is 15 months adores this toy! He's still too young to grasp the concept of the games that it teaches(Find the pig, etc.) but its kept him busy for the past two days straight! I agree that the sensors are small but in all honestly its a great toy, for a reasonable price. It seems sturdy also, and we've had no problems with batteries draining, or the sounds from the truck sticking. I definitely give this toy 5 stars, and I was disappointed to see the poor reviews when I came back to purchase another for a friends son.

Read Best Reviews of Alex Little Hands Talk of the Farm Here

I scoped out educational toys at a local teachers' store, and found this priced at around $40. I was glad to find it on Amazon for much less, and I expected that my 2-year-old would enjoy it. It was a Christmas gift, and while other toys got more attention at the beginning, this one eventually got plenty too. Both my 2 and 4 year old sons like the peppy tune the truck makes. They also enjoy following the instructions given by the toy , and finding the various areas of the farm/play mat. (i.e. "Let's find the sheep meadow. Can you baa like a sheep?") It's a toy I enjoy playing with--with them! We discuss all the work a farmer has to do, and the different animals.

All in all, a creative idea, good quality materials, and pleasant. Well worth the price paid, and I'd buy it again as a gift for toddlers/preschoolers we know.

Definately worth the $8 I spent on it though. He will get it eventually and love it!

Chicco Butterfly Spinner Toy

Chicco Butterfly Spinner ToyMy 8 month old son loves this toy. He is learning cause and effect concepts. It's simple enough for him to understand how to press down the top to get the cute butterflies and lady bugs to spin around and land in the holes. They are super fun and like a previous post said, easy to take along and no parts to loose or choke on. They are easy enough to push on for smaller babies to make the spinner work. The only reason I gave this four instead of 5 stars is because it is so LOUD! We put them away when the babies are sleeping so that the children who are awake can't play with them. Great toy for playtime, not so great if you have one awake and one trying to sleep.

Green Toys Sand Play Set

Green Toys Sand Play Set, GreenWe found these and got them 2 weeks before a vacation. Great price to begin with. This set is bullet proof. The gauge of the plastic is very thick. These will not crack like most if not all other play sets. The rake tines will give slightly but won't snap or crack. The shovel is stiff for digging. Plus they have a little nub for thumbs to help push or pull. The bucket is VERY sturdy. The castle is equally strong. We had loads of fun using this on the beach. Other children on the beach wanted to play with them. Reluctantly my girls let them ;). Cust service from Green Toys equally great. We lost the rake to the Atlantic, we got home and emailed Green Toys on how to buy a new one. They send a replacement free of charge and some little extras.

You will not be disappointed with this set, based on it construction, if you don't lose a piece or two. It will last you for a long, long time.

UPDATE 5/2010

Just wanted to update this review. My girls are 3 years older and so is their play set. They are scratched up like any producted used in sand. BUT the color has not faded and NOT one crack any where. Even the rope used for the bucket is good to go. Now we left them out two winters and garaged the other one. BUT if not for the scratches the look good as new.

I'd been waiting for this product to become available for some time. The product was more than I could have hoped for...no cheesy handle, instead it has a strong rope. It is very durable and, best of all, all three of our grandchildren love playing on the beach building sand castles. In fact, that have requested a couple more sets.

I bought these for my 3-year old and 17-month old to use in our backyard sandbox. I was so excited to find something that wasn't the usual primary-colored shiny plastic. This set is gorgeous, the pail has a strong and cool-looking rope handle. Our girls play with this every day. It was a great purchase. Not the sort of outside toy that you throw away at the end of the season, it's just so durable.

Read Best Reviews of Green Toys Sand Play Set Here

This Sand Play Set from Green toys is definitely a Diamond in the Rough. It is nothing like the cheap plastic sets that will bend and disappoint. It is made from strong recycled plastic, that is BPA free, and is tough and sturdy for child's play. We bought two one for each of our toddlers and they love them. It is recommended for children ages 3 and above but our 2 year old plays with it just fine (just watch younger children who may poke eyes with the rake, or want to put it in their mouths though its safe).

PROS

1. Eco friendly and safe for young children and is made in the USA.

2. The beach bucket has a strong rope handle, (so no bending or breaking away from the bucket like plastic ones do)

3. Durable and quite stylish

CONS

1. Pricey (but you can save a few bucks by buying it here on Amazon, which is much cheaper than other retailers and toy stores).

OVERALL

Worth every penny and will last a lifetime.

Outshines any flimsy sand play set you might find in a toy store. My 17 month old son plays with it in our backyard sandbox and I look forward to taking it with us to the beach this summer. I look forward to seeing what other toys this company produces.

Infantino Rockin Rings Stacking Game

Infantino Rockin Rings Stacking GameI bought these in a store yesterday. They were inexpensive, but felt light and possibly cheap. I thought they wouldn't be as good as the Fisher Price ones that I was familiar with. However, my 7 mo. old seems to be enjoying them. She dumps them off the ring, bangs them, and puts them in her mouth. I like that they have different textures (to help her differentiate) and that they are light enough for her to easily hold. I wish they were BPA free (I didn't see it on the package), but she doesn't keep them in her mouth to chew on them thankfully.

PARENTS OF YOUNG TODDLERS WITH TEETH --BEWARE OF THIS TOY!!

Edushape Ltd's Chubby EduBlocks are extremely unsafe for the young age group they are marketed toward, and I feel their current availability to children as young as 6 months needs to be swiftly addressed by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) before any children become ill or die after choking on or swallowing the foam that the blocks are made from. This is a seriously dangerous toy when used by the age group it is designed for!

The Edushape Ltd's Chubby EduBlocks are multi-color, larger-size, stacking foam blocks made in China that the manufacturer recommends as a safe toy for children 6 months and up. We received the Chubby EduBlocks as a Christmas gift for my 17 month old daughter and we had this toy in our home for a little over a week and a half before she chewed off the tip of a block and ingested an undetermined amount of the smelly colored foam yesterday. This incident happened in less than 5 minutes, and occurred while I was in the room with her.

She was sitting on the couch, playing with one red Chubby EduBlock, and I turned my back on her briefly to put a DVD on the TV for her. While I put the movie on, she proceeded to chew off several pieces of varying sizes of the foam block tip before I understood what was occurring. I have documented in a separate photograph the size of some of the red foam pieces I removed from her mouth and found scattered in her lap, but several of the chewed-off foam pieces were about half of an inch in length, certainly large enough for a younger child to choke on. My daughter thankfully did not choke on the foam, but I believe she ingested one or several of the small foam pieces before I identified their source and was able to clear her mouth of foam and take the toy away from her.

Generally speaking, we exercise much caution before introducing a new toy to our beloved baby, and this toy seemed to be safe enough at first glance since the blocks are soft and are marketed as both educational and non-toxic. I trusted that ASTM safety standards had been considered and I also assumed that the foam had been tested during manufacturing and was strong enough not to crumble or break into bits in a child's hand or mouth. In retrospect, I see I should have done more research before trusting my daughter with an Edushape toy, since many may recognize the Edushape Ltd. name as the same one that also distributed the 18,000 units of "Mini Stars Building Sets" that had to be recalled in July of 2011 because of similar choking hazards. I additionally have read that 40 units of Snap Beads distributed by Edushape in 2009 were also recalled by the Chinese manufacturer, Xiamen Xinlu Machinery Co., Ltd.

I see now that ANY young child with teeth can easily chew off and either choke on or ingest the foam tip from an Edushape Chubby EduBlock, and I am astounded that this product was ever considered "safe" by anyone in the industry in the first place! ...Especially given this company's poor track record with recalled toys! On top of the severe choking and ingestion hazard the foam poses, the blocks also have a distinctly chemical smell. Exactly what chemicals are in this foam product now that my 25lb daughter is at work digesting them? I recommend the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) investigate with serious scrutiny any and all materials data Edushape Ltd and their Chinese manufacturer can provide, because these blocks stink badly of chemicals, and they were ingested very quickly by my daughter.

I am currently in dialogue with Jeff Malmud, Edushape Ltd. USA's National Sales Manager to resolve our issue with the return of this defective or thoughtlessly designed toy. He has been very gracious with the return of this item which was originally purchased through amazon.com as a gift.

Lamaze Board Book

Lamaze Board Book, Baby On The GoOur 3 month old daughter loves looking at this the bright colors esp. Whenever she gets agitated, we show her this book, and she quitens down immediately! She in fact reaches out and flips the pages, though I'm pretty sure she isn't aware of what she is actually doing. All in all, a great buy. P.S. the book doesnt have audio sounds, just pictures of animals and the sound they make.

This is a cute book, but I was expecting real sounds with it. It has the picture of the animal and written sound that it makes, but doesn't have a press button to hear the sound.

This book is super cute! Each page has a different number of baby animals (up to 10). It is also interactive as there are flaps to lift up on each page. My 9 month old enjoys this book, although she tries to pull the flaps off instead of up. She hasn't succeeded yet, but I can see the flap seams are weakening. The pages themselves are very thick, like twice as thick as normal board books. However, the edges of the cover are already scuffed after only a couple days of use, so I imagine this book won't stay looking new for long. I would recommend taking a look at the gift set. When I purchased it, it was only a couple dollars more than the book alone. Lamaze Counting Zoo Gift Set

Our baby loves this book. True, it's not very long, and it doesn't "make" sounds. Each page has a picture of an animal, the spelled word of the animal, and the spelled sound the animal makes. It doesn't make the sounds for you, that's your job. "See the CAT? The cat says, "MEOW." I started reading this book to my baby at 4 months old. At five months our baby was actively touching the animals and turns the pages. The pages are super thick (thicker than typical board books) and can't be easily damaged. I will be ordering another one of these.

Alittle overpriced in my opinion. Heavy pages and great little book. Too pricey for what it is.

Actually thought there was sound with it. Would like to have seen the inside before buying.
