Skip Hop Sort and Spin Fishbowl Sorter Bath Toy

it's simple but fun. the fishbowl's suction cup is STRONG and holds really well on the tiled wall or the tub itself. the toys that fill it up float and squirt. the bowl itself, once held by the suction cup, can spin and dump all the toys out then spin to be right side up again. then all the toys can be stored in the bowl and the water drains out completely when the bath is over.
my three year old has so much fun with this toy it's completely open ended and promotes imaginative play since there's no "one way" to play with it.
my six month old loves watching the toys bob up and down in the water and i know will love this set more and more as she grows up, too.
i've found that simple is best with bath toys. they stay cleanest and ultimately are the ones that are played with most. this one is my favorite because it's totally self contained so it leaves the sides and corners of the tub free from wet toys!
love it.The toys are soft and the toy is a good bath toy. This was for my 2 year old who hates bathtime. The bottom of the bowl has a hole so that the water drains out when done playing with it.

My 7 month baby loves this toy. Its a great size and has lots of things to keep him busy with his hands and mouth, especially since he is actively teething. This is really great toy that is a perfect larger size toy for our baby. I am able to clip it on my son's high chair, my Boba 3G carrier, even myself and it hangs to a decent length so he can reach for it and grab it and chew and explore. I am truly pleased that I found this terrific toy and that is a good size and has a lot to keep him entertained and distracted from his teething pain as well as keeping him occupied. Oh, and this toy's head rotates! How cool!! :-)If you are thinking of getting a terific teething toy that is a good size and your baby will love, get this, because you wont be disappointed!
Thank you Lamaze, I wish I would of found it sooner, better late then never..... Oh and Thank you Amazon for offering a terrific infant toy at a decent price (under 12$ delivered!)

Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Baby's First Blocks

My son received this toy as a gift for his 6-month birthday. At the time, I remember hearing about how some plastic toys (often made in China) contain harmful chemicals that are known to cause cancer and feeling concerned that this toy might be one of them. I didn't do anything for awhile, seeing how my son enjoyed playing with the toy and thinking (stupidly) that if this toy were truly harmful, it wouldn't be sold in the U.S.One day, I came across this toy on Amazon and noticed the warning to CA residents under "Product Details." I couldn't believe it when I read this toy is made with harmful chemicals known to "cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm." I bet a lot of people who are giving this toy 5 stars are not aware of the warning.
UPDATE TO REVIEW ON 10-28-09: Amazon has removed the warning about the harmful chemicals, and in response to an inquiry I sent them told me "Product information from the item detail is added or deleted upon manufacturers information." Amazon suggested I contacted FP, which I did, and the FP rep said he couldn't find anything in their records indicating the toy's manufacturing had been changed. The toy's production has not been altered since 2007. He suggested that perhaps the warning wasn't accurate, and that's why it was removed. That may be, but it seems like a pretty big mistake for Amazon to make on multiple FP toys. I see now that none of the FP toys that previously had this warning have it now.
As for my son's reaction to the toy, he liked to bang the pieces together and put them in his mouth, but he never bothered to try to sort the shapes since the top doesn't stay in place, as others have mentioned. My son always removed the top and took out all of the pieces, no matter how many times I showed him how to sort the shapes with the top in place. Talk about poor design! I should have given it 1 star for the "educational" rating in hindsight, but I figured that theoretically it could be of some value if a child didn't remove the top. Also, Amazon wouldn't let me go back and change my ratings.
I just got another shape sorter for him from Amazon (the Tolo Rolling Shape Sorter), and within minutes he tried to put the shapes in the slots because he couldn't remove either the top or the bottom of the unit. Now that's an educational toy!

With all the recent news about lead, BPA and other harmful chemicals being found in many children's toys, I've been investigating any toy my child has been given. Someone gave my 7 month old this as a gift. It doesn't say "BPA Free" or anything on the box, so I decided to call the company.Fisher Price has only issued this statement (here's my paraphrase): that BPA is a known carcinogen, and that it is dangerous when food products come in contact with it. Since Fisher Price does not sell any "food storage" items like bottles or nipples, it is not as much of an issue. They do not put BPA in their high chairs, but do use it in their toys.
So, I'm not going to let my son use it....as EVERYTHING ends up in his mouth :)
One good thing I can say about Fisher Price is that it was easy to get ahold of a customer service rep. If this concerns you at all, give them a call, too! The more people who call and say it's important, the more likely they are to change their practices and produce safer toys for our children.

I am surprised at how many people complain about how easily the lid removes. My daughter received this toy at 6 months old. It SHOULD go without saying, but at six months old they are not looking for specific shapes as much as basic concepts. She would bang the blocks together, bang the bucket parts together, and dump the shapes out and put them back in, over and over. Then a couple months later, she started trying to put the lid on; because of the ease it encouraged her and she would get so proud of herself. By the time she was a year old she would set the lid on the ground and match the shapes up on the carpet. Then she would clean up her mess and put the lid on. Now at 14 months, she is able to use the toy for what it is intended. The colors of the toy are vibrant, which is a wonderful thing for a child's development in the early years. My daughter loves this toy and she is extremely advanced for her age. Baby's don't just magically learn their shapes because you gave them a toy. A six month old need to be taught, and there are a lot of lessons that come before putting small shapes in a hole.Monday, March 3, 2014

it's really great for my baby because she can't hurt herself with the soft pages. She seems to play with it a lot. She is 7 months old. Lamaze Crib Soother

It's really easy to use. There are several options on this toy. You can play the music only, lights only, or music and lights together. There are three songs and one nature sound option. The three songs are: "Bach's Minuet in G", "Hush Little Baby" and "Soothing Spa".
My girl likes the nature sounds the most, and, as a parent, they are easier to listen to then a repeating song :) She does like the songs as long as I turn on the lights with it. I also found that if I turn on her musical mobile over the crib and turn on the lights-only option on this product, she is easily soothed and falls asleep quickly! I love it!
The lights respond to the songs, so they are flickering on the "screen". The "screen" is plastic, and it looks like some of the animals are made of a felt-like material, while others are painted on the "screen". There are no moving parts, but the lights make it look like there is movement. It's really a cool effect.
It uses a buckle and snap to attach to the crib, so it seems very secure. The nylon straps allow the toy to hang off the crib at an angle, so an infant that is still too young to sit up can still see everything. The toy has a fabric cover and the purple edge is padded, so it is soft to the touch for curious baby hands.
The lady bug button is padded too, but my girl isn't sitting up yet, so she can't reach it yet. If you press the ladybug, it plays nature sounds and lights that match the sounds for 5 minutes. The regular music settings go for 20 minutes.
It takes three AA batteries, which are beneath a cover that is screwed in. There is a pouch in the back of the toy so you could plug in an mp3 player, which I think it a pretty cool idea, but I haven't tried it yet.
There is an "on/off" switch for battery conservation and two volume settings, which is a nice touch. The instructions are listed in numerous languages and are very simple to follow; however there is a typo in them that says that the "lights will breathe slowly". LOL I think they mean "blink" :) Oh, and from an environmental view, I like the fact that there is minimal packaging for this toy.
Overall, I really like this product, and my girl does too!
***UPDATE***
I just wanted to say that my daughter used this item during bedtime and nap time until she was about 16 months old. She enjoyed it for a long time. She liked using just the lights for a while, and not the music too. I loved that you could use those options separately. Oh, and we took it with us on a two week road trip with her, strapped it on her pack-n-play at night, and it seemed to help her feel more at ease sleeping away from home. Anyway, I have taken out the batteries and stored it away now that she had outgrown it, and I will definitely use this with my future babies!this product is adorable. im not a fan of big bulky products or over stimulating my children with electronics. so this seemed perfect! simple, nature theme and soothing lights. really a cute idea! i was so excited when it came. now that ive used it im a bit annoyed. and heres why...
1. when you turn on the machine its BURSTS flashing lights and NOT soothing music. so if you turn it off to save batteries and are about to lay baby down with a desire that she can be "soothed" the rest of the way to sleep she will suddenly be startled by trying to even turn the thing on for her to enjoy. why there has to be any sound and lights just to turn it on is beyond me.
2.they just didnt fully think this thing through for baby use. when you press the lady bug the lights go to flash mode and not "breathe"/calmy rotation of the lights. so if you r baby wants to be soothed while waking or going to bed your outa luck. its in their face FAST FLASH FLASH FLASH lights. seriously???
3.also, you cant just skip to the calm nature sounds when you want to use it.the SECOND option is the nature. so, when you want to sooth your baby you have to play atleast two loud notes of first song before it will let you "skip" to the nature sounds. YOU CANNOT BYPASS the first song all together. the nature song should be first and then the 3 annoying songs after. my baby is startled everytime i try and get to the nature.
all in all there is a bunch of noise and flashing lights before you can get to the basic "breathe" lights motion and nature sounds. its so sad cause with a few tweaks this thing would have been AMAZING. im kind confused as what to do right now. i dont really want to ship it back to amazon. how annoying. so my hubby is gonna try and get a cheap mp3 for it in hopes it may help the music situation. but other reviews state that the mp3 broke fast. so i dont have high hopes for this. crap. with my other kids ive been through every type of mobile and soother. i wish actual moms would be hired to help with designs of baby products cause these mistakes are so dumb.
anyway. meh its adorable but but mistakes make it almost impossible to be soothingI absolutley love this soother I have tried so many different ones the fish type, the projection on the cieling and this is the best one of all. It does nature sounds and songs. The best part is the lights they are colorful and go to the songs/soundsw and you can even use your ipod songs. It is the only soother out of the four I have had that keeps the twins quite and relaxes them enough at bedtime it is a must have product. My twins are premies and are 5 months old they have reflux and colick and they love this . I recoment to new and experincedmoms who are sop tired and need a few minutes of quite this how to get it and the sounds relax me to as they fall asleep to it I can relax with them and catch up on my book.I was very excited for this crib soother when I ordered it. I loved that I could use my MP3 player with it. After we recieved it, I was not impressed by this product. The lights and sound are a little too bright and loud if you are trying to use it at bedtime. My daughter only liked it for a few minutes at a time.It works for both my 2 month old and 2 year old! I was able to put them both to sleep in their own beds in their own room!! and that lately has been a challenge. The plus has been the mp3 player. I was able to plug in my iPhone and use the iPod as well as all the music apps I have (pandora, radio Disney, etc.) I love the ease of moving it onto the crib or the toddler bed. Unlike the other ones I had, you just buckle it on and pull the strap! Both my kids love the lights. They're nice and bright. The music and lights stays on for 20 minutes (I think), I've never had to use it for more than 5 minutes. All in all, I'm a happy mama! I will defineitely be purchasing another one.

Winfun Baby Driver Stroller/Car Seat Seat

The only issue we have is that the straps to attach it to the stroller or crib are a little short, but it was easy enough for us to adapt some other straps to make it work. Your baby will love it too! This is a good toy but it is REALLY small. I got it for a 17 month old, who is not big for his age. It is like a miniature toy for him. I think it would be much better for babies under the age of 1. All of the buttons, turn signal, key, shifter, etc are very good, the noises are pleasant and not too loud. But it is kind of a let down because it is so small. The steering wheel is only like 4 inches in diameter. Also, the velcro straps they provide to attach it to a car seat or stroller are way to short. But since it has holes in the toy for straps, one could swap out the provided straps for something longer.

My sixteen-month-old son loved this toy and enjoyed playing with it in the car for a long trip. It has two volume levels and a variety of levers and buttons to produce sounds and lights in addition to the steering wheel (my son's favorite part). However, the two straps on the back are short and attach to themselves in a loop with velcro and will only work for attaching it to a horizontal lap bar on a stroller or car seat and still have it accessible to the child. I was worried about this somewhat heavy, hard plastic toy floating around free while I was driving, so I secured it (sort of!) with some linking rings to the back of the vehicle seat so he could reach it still (he's rear-facing). I don't know what I'll use for a more permanent, safe attachment method for a car seat without a lap bar, but since he enjoys the toy, I'll certainly try to find one! (See also notes on the above image of the back of the product for accurate dimensions; dimensions given are apparently for the box in which it's shipped because it's nowhere near as large as those numbers suggest!)Read Best Reviews of Winfun Baby Driver Stroller/Car Seat Seat Here
On a recent trip to the lake our 5 month old daughter became obsessed with the steering wheel on the boat, so my husband and I set out to find her a wheel to play with at home. My main concern with buying any toy like this is the sounds it makes, so many of them are totally obnoxious! Surprisingly, this toy is not and the sounds are actually really cute, which is saying a lot because everything on this toy makes a sound (honking, vrooming, turn signal clicking, songs, beads rattling and more). Also included is a two volume control switch with the lower setting being pretty quiet. There are tons of things to move and push and the turn signals light up on each side, it definitely is a workout for our now 6 month olds' hand-eye coordination and manipulation skills. The only thing I would change on this toy is to make the actual wheel a little bit bigger, but that is just personal preference. I have not tried to attach it to the stroller tray yet, she has mostly been playing with it on the floor or her lap, and I could see the velcro straps being a bit short as other reviewers have mentioned, but it isn't hard to pick up some additional velcro at the store if they need to be longer. Overall, we are very satisfied with this toy and recommend it for wheel loving babies!I bought this for my granddaughter who loves steering wheels, She was almost 2 so this was probably too young for her. She loved it for 10 minutes. It would be great for any child from 6-18 months and much smaller than I thought it would beSunday, October 13, 2013
Radio Flyer 4-in-1 Trike Red

When I was much younger, a tricycle was a single use kind of device. A tricycle was three wheels, a seat, and pedals. I can only say that tricycles have come a long way. This tricycle has four different configurations or modes of operation.
The first mode of operation is as baby stroller. There is a plastic safety restraint or insert to help position a baby from ages 9 months to 18 months in addition to straps. The pedals have two settings. One setting lets the pedals spin without moving the front wheel. The other setting lets a child pedal the front wheel, when the child is old enough to pedal the tricycle. The plastic "trunk" is a storage bin that can hold a few small items. Because the storage bin has a divider in the middle, which I consider unfortunate, the size of items it can hold is limited. The tricycle comes with a canopy that is especially useful for babies and toddlers. There is a push handle or a "parent handle" in the back. The push handle has a huge advantage over many strollers in that the height of the push handle is easily adjustable over a reasonably large range.
The second mode of operation is similar to the first. The primary difference is that the safety restraint removes for toddlers aged 18 months to 2 years. The straps remain in place and the canopy is probably still useful to keep the sun off your child.
As your toddler gets to the point where pedaling the tricycle is possible and exciting, the front wheel rotary piece needs adjustment to the second position that permits the pedals to move the front wheels. The canopy may be unnecessary and the restraint straps are easily removable. In this transition phase, a parent still has the handle in the back to keep the child from running amok or just to keep the child close. The recommended age range for this configuration is 2 years to 3 years.
The last configuration is as a standard tricycle, suitable for most children ages 3 years to 5 years. The "parent handle" in the back is removable and the tricycle now looks like a standard tricycle. The storage bin in the back is a great place for a few smaller toys.
Assembly does take some time. You need a hammer, an adjustable wrench or a socket set, and a Philips screwdriver. Strangely, the nuts requiring a wrench are both English and metric, so you if you use sockets you ideally need both types.
The parts come with plastic pieces on hard ends to protect the box and to protect a person assembling the tricycle until they are ready for that part. The plastic pieces remove easily for disposal. The main frame of the tricycle is welded steel, as is the steering bar. The rear axle also seems to be steel. The seat is plastic, but seems quite sturdy.
This tricycle was an immediate hit, with the only problem being the bad weather we had soon after receiving the tricycle. Fortunately, the relatively soft wheels are easy on our wood floors. We do not plan to permit the tricycle on our floors after outside use, when it will inevitably pick up rocks in the tires.
Are there any downsides to this tricycle? I suppose it depends on your point of view. The push handle removes somewhat easily. Alternatively, since the handle adjusts, it may lower enough to let the tricycle fit easily in a trunk or the back of an SUV. However, there is no folding available with this stroller, so if you are looking for the convenience of a folding stroller, then get a folding stroller. The other minor problem is that this tricycle does not have any brakes, which makes it quite different from most traditional strollers, including most folding strollers. Be extremely careful using this tricycle on hills, and if your child is in the stroller, keep a firm grip on the handle. The instructions include warnings against using this tricycle on hills. However, many of us live on hills of some kind, even if they are small hills. A better warning is to keep your hands on the stroller at all times.
I am pleased that Radio Flyer, Inc. is maintaining their reputation of making durable and sturdy products. I love the heavy steel frame and the other steel elements. The plastic is thick and used in all the places where steel or aluminum is less practical. The result is a high quality product that children love and that you can either save for future grandchildren or pass on to a friend, knowing you are giving a quality product.
Enjoy! So I wanted to buy my daughter a trike that I can push until she reaches the peddles and also adjusts to her size. I really needed this to be a sturdy, easy to maneuver, and durable trike for long periods of use since we do plenty of walking. I did a lot of research! Too much some might think :)) I asked people around the neighborhood if they liked theirs, read reviews on Amazon, as well as other sites, read all the instructions and descriptions, watched videos; I mean, I really did my homework!
First, I want to share what I liked and didn't like...
Pros:
-Durable and Reliable I haven't yet had to rescrew the bolts and we use it a LOT!
-Many options to make a child any age comfortable.
-Easy to steer and very safe, basically feels like pushing a stroller. Can be easily pushed off the sidewalk without picking it up.
-Sunshade is really useful and can be folded for sunbathing.
-Great value, so many options for such a great price.
Cons:
-Squeaks after first walk, needs to be oiled once in a while
-I needed a lot of time to put the bike together; also the tools they tell you to use are not sufficient to screw everything tightly. But all this is worth it to make it feel very safe.
Finally, the reasons why I chose to buy this instead of all the other trikes offered on Amazon:
1. The handle is strong, made out of steel, and doesn't break off. I've read in some reviews that some trikes have handles that come off and feel cheap because of the plastic materials they are made from. This trike is NOT like that. It feels very reliable.
2. The wheels are rubber, not plastic like on most of the other trikes. I feel like they will last a long time.
3. It has a hatchback, meaning there is a compartment on the back that can hold keys, phones, toys, and rocks that your child might collect on your walk. We put flowers there sometimes :)
4. This trike has a little tray that my daughter uses for a drinking cup. Very comfortable if you are going for a long walk. None of the other trikes had this tray.
5. And lastly, the seat moves, the harness can be taken off, the pedals can be adjusted to stay still while you push the bike... Basically many things that other trikes didn't have.
I'm so glad I didn't purchase Little Tikes or Italtrike because from what I hear and read I would've been very disappointed.

When I saw the opportunity to review this Radio Flyer four-in-one tricycle, I was eager to accept: My cousin and his wife, who live a couple doors down the street, have a three-year-old, and they have just learned that they are expecting another baby in June. So I knew that this toy would be used in all four of its "incarnations" at one point or another. The toy arrived within three days, even though I did not request any special shipping status.
The directions for putting the tricycle together are excellent and detailed. They are entirely pictorial, with no words at all, which is a godsend for those of us who labor for hours trying to read badly translated written instructions. Laura (the mom) put the entire tricycle together with only minimal help from Brian (the dad). Brian did have to help with Instruction #13, and also with tightening screws and bolts here and there. I was delighted to hear that one does not need an engineering degree to put this toy together.
The tricycle went together very easily for the most part. The handlebars are the hardest part of the construction. Laura recommends that anyone putting this tricycle together pull up on the handlebars after attaching the bars and the clamp to be sure that the clamp has tightened properly. She pulled up on the handlebars at least four times and was able to remove them despite that clamp being on. You just have to tighten the clamp as much as possible.
This tricycle seems very durable, though I will add to this review after Brandon (the three-year-old) has used the toy more. The canopy is very nice, and the straps on the seat will be great for the new baby when he or she can use it (at nine months or so). The cupholder that surrounds the infant in the seat will be great for the baby as well. My only wish is that the tricycle had rubber tires instead of plastic tires. We live in a somewhat rural area with no sidewalks, and the plastic tires may not hold up as well as rubber tires. The push handle, to be used for infants, adjusts to the height of the adult pushing the tricycle, which is a wonderful feature.
Now to the acid test: Does the child like the toy? Brandon has been off this tricycle only to eat and sleep ever since it was put together. He even attempted to get on it several times while his mom was putting it together, saying, "I should try it!" With winter coming on he will probably use it only in the house at first, but Brian and Laura have a huge basement, and riding his tricycle there will give him hours of play time.
I highly recommend this tricycle, especially if your child or children are young enough to take advantage of it in all its formations. The product description says it can be used from nine months to five years, and that sounds about right.

I bought this remote because it had a visual component (not just buttons/lights) with the plan of removing the batteries. However, they do not disclose in advance that the unit contains "non-replaceable" batteries the case is sealed shut. So if you want a unit with batteries you can't replace them once they die, and for those of us who want to remove the batteries, we can't. Nice. I'll be returning it.Read Best Reviews of Sassy Real Life Remote Developmental Toy Here
i rated this toy 5 stars because it was both inexpensive AND engaging (not a very frequent find, i am learning).i must admit one of the main reasons i bought this toy was because other reviewers said it was "too" quiet (sign me up!). yes, the weather guy was...repetitive. but he really wasn't very loud so the annoyance factor was little to nil. plus, we had this toy for about a month before it stopped working sound-wise (i should note that it was used OFTEN; the buttons were not lacking in the attention arena), and it's still getting use for its visual properties alone (our daughter is now almost 6 months old but still shows interest when we present it to her as an "alternative" to Mommy and Daddy's remote control).
so yeah, this product does the job for a while and continues to be a pretty good visual toy on its own without the sound features once the batteries die out. can't really ask for more for four bucks!I wanted a toy remote control for my son, as he is always trying to play with our TV remote. This one looked greatsimple, eye catching design and small enough for little hands. When it arrived I was so bummed to hear the obnoxious noises that come from it. I have a feeling the noises are going to get REALLY annoying after a while. I wish I'd shopped for this particular item in person, to have been able to hear it first.
