Spinning Gears

Spinning GearsThis was a big disappointment.

First of all, the gears are very loose onto the main body of the toy, and will just fall off if the toy is tilted. I can't imagine why it comes with a handle, all the gears would just fall off. Secondly, although the description didn't state this, I had expected that pressing the music buttons would make the gears actually turn not so. Finally, the description says it's good for any child over 12 months the packaging actually recommends 18months+. Because the gears come off so easily, it takes more manual dexterity than a one year old has to turn the gears without them flying off.

Save your money.

Rubies Costume Co. Deluxe Baby Bunting Peas in a Pod Costume

Deluxe Baby Bunting, Pea in the Pod Costume, 1 to 9 MonthsI bought this costume for my baby's first Halloween and I was a bit disappointed with it. It did not look exactly like the item that is depicted in the photograph the peas were much smaller and the colors were off. It wasn't TERRIBLE but it wasn't what I thought I would be getting. The deal breaker for me was when I went to put it on my son who is just under 4 months old and the costume was too short for him. This outfit is supposed to fit children up to 9 months of age and my son is not overly tall (he's 25"). I don't think I will be buying costumes from this store again...

Ordered this direct from Amazon, and was very happy with it. Looked as exactly as shown in the picture. You will see a couple reviews on here about the costume not looking exactly as in the photo. I think this is because they ordered it from one of the merchants on here besides Amazon. If you look at the reviews for some of those vendors, you will see complaints about the product not being completely as advertised, or sold out, or shipped late. Look under "more buying options" and order directly from Amazon, and you will have no such problems. Yeah, maybe it will cost one dollar more. But its worth it, Amazon is so reliable about sending the correct item and on-time. So why risk ruining your holiday just to save a dollar or two?

Costume is very cute, but does run a bit small. It fit our 6-week old baby with some room to spare, but I don't see any way that it would fit a baby that is 9-months old, or 6-months for that matter (depending on whether you read the product title, or the description they don't match one says up to 9 months, the other says 6 months). If I were to guess, I'd say it will fit from newborn up to 3 or 4 months (depends on how big your baby is for their age, of course). And the cap is pretty snug, even on our 6-week old, who is a bit on the petite size for her age, about 7-1/2 lbs.

The material is not the highest quality, but if you've ever purchased this type of costume garment before (such as an adult or kids costume) you know what to expect. Its a light felt or fleece like material, made to only withstand a couple uses. The costume held up fine to a hand washing, and dried flat, since we wanted to wash the costume before putting out baby in it. The peas attach with velcro, which is actually pretty handy, so you can remove the peas, and still strap your baby in a car seat without them getting it the way. And there is a opening in the back, so you can bring the babies legs out of the bunting, which is also very handy for strapping into a car seat or stroller. Overall, we were very satisfied with this costume.

CURIOUS GEORGE VISITS THE LIBRARY

CURIOUS GEORGE VISITS THE LIBRARYCurious George is on another adventure. This time he's in my favorite place, the library. The man with the yellow hat has brought George to the library for story time. He likes the books but sees one on dinosaurs that he hopes the librarian reads next. He gets impatient, takes the book and runs off. This is the beginning of his adventure. He goes through the library finding neat books and making a big mess in the process. The boys and girls at the library, along with a volunteer help clean up the mess. In the end the man with the yellow hat helps George get a library card and they both check out lots of great books.

I liked the story and the pictures in the book. It's another great adventure with Curious George.

I would recommed this book to others. It can be used with young children who are just learning about the library. It would make a great read for storytimes.

"Curious George Visits the Library" is, as the title page notes, "Illustrated in the Style of H.A. Rey" by Martha Weston. In this tale, George--"a good little monkey and always very curious"--visits the public library with his friend, the man in the yellow hat. Chaos ensues as George frolics through the library, but it all ends happily.

Curious George is an enduring cultural icon, and this book is an enjoyable addition to his adventures. He's a cute and likeable character, and despite his disruptive antics, his love of books makes him admirable. Although mischievous, he is never malicious, and his attitude throughout is positive. Weston creates a nice portrait of a multiethnic community at the public library. Her illustrations are full of clever visual touches and entertaining details. If you're a fan of the curious monkey, don't miss this book.

My niece enjoys the story, but I really don't want her using this book when she's learning to read.

The grammar is shocking considering this is a simple children's book.

We shouldn't be setting bad examples for beginner readers.

Mary Meyer TAGGIES Chime Elephant

Mary Meyer TAGGIES Chime ElephantThe taggies elephant toy was very much like it was described. I was looking for something similiar to those old time Apple CHime toys, and this worked rather well. It chimes when moved around, and has a weight to help keep it upright no matter what. The elephant itself is soft all over, and the little tags are great. My daughter has a thing for tags on her toys!

Now, the downside. This toy is small. Like.. suprisingly small. I took a pic of my now 8 month old daughter and the toy for comparison. It's not so small that I wouldn't have bought it at all if I had known, but maybe I would have looked around a little more, or at very least, been less surpised when I got it had I known.

Overall, a wonderful little toy, however. :)

50 Piece Jumbo Sized Wooden Alphabet Blocks

50 Piece Jumbo Sized Wooden Alphabet BlocksThe blocks that we received did not live up to the title. We received 40 blocks instead of the 50 we ordered. Also, the product description lists the toy as: Kid-safe, water-based paint, non-toxicpaints...the blocks we received were made in China which leaves us a little unsettled on the safety for our child and nowhere on the product packaging does it repeat the safety claim listed on Amazon. If we had it to do over, we would have made a different purchase.

North American Bear Company First Friends Monkey, Blue, 16"

North American Bear Company First Friends Monkey, Blue, 16'This is a beautifully made and designed stufffed animal. I gave it to my 2 yr old son as a gift. He immediately chose to snuggle with it nightly. I was a bit disappointed that the bow came completely wrinkled, but all of those wrinkles fell out and the bow looks beautiful now. My only issue is that my particular one has a wrinkle in the nose where the sticking was a bit off. This inperfection would have bothered me as a kid and I wonder if it will for my child..... Otherwise it seems perfect and immediately became a friend. I TRULY wish they would make a larger one!

Safety 1st Sounds n Lights Discovery Walker, Dino

Safety 1st Sounds n Lights Discovery Walker, DinoMy son loves this walker. It took him a day or so to get the idea and start moving his feet, but now he is zipping around our house.

I like that the toys can swing out, which leaves you with a fairly good sized tray for snacks. The tray is also deep enough that my son can move his cereal around without knocking it out of the tray. The toys are ok. They don't seem to be super high quality, but they provide a little bit of extra stimulation. Most of the appeal, though, seems to be in the freedom that it provides for my son.

The safety grips on the bottom of the walker seem to work well. For example, the walker won't go over our flooring thresholds because they are too high. However, I would note that we only have hard surface flooring in our home, and we don't have any stairs.

*Update 12/14/10* My son is 11 months now, and he still enjoys his walker. However, there is no seatbelt in the walker, and he has figured out that if he grabs onto things, then he can pull himself up to stand in (or on) the walker. This has become a big safety issue, so I wanted to note the lack of a seatbelt for other parents with climbers (or future climbers).

Like any first time parents, we wanted a walker for our baby in hopes he'll learn to walk soon. It was hard to decide on one as there was no reference on what the minimum height should be and I was worried that our boy is still too early for a walker. So for your reference, our baby is about 3.5 months, and 2 feet tall when we purchased this walker. With the lowest setting, he is still not able to reach the ground. However, we were able to make some adjustments to it to make it lowered so that his feet can now reach the ground and he is able to push himself backwards.

The toys on the tray are ok. I thought they were a bit simple and not very entertaining: the bear at the end flashes a red light and plays 3 different sounds, the palm tree has rotating mirrors, the dinosaur turns and clicks, the yellow ball spins with tiny balls inside so it also makes noise, and a red plastic toy tied to the tray and our boy ends up just putting it in his mouth. I liked how the toys has its own tray and you are able to move them to the side so you can use the tray for snacks or other toys.

The only thing we didn't like about this walker is the design of the seat. The two holes for his legs are way in front where his legs dangle instead of allowing him to stand up and move freely. I hope they will reconsider the design to either make the leg holes wider or move it to the middle of the seat more.

Overall, this is walker is affordable, simple to use and set up, slides effortlessly on hardwood floor, and great for travel as the seat can be lowered to flatten. Also, the cloth seat is removable for washing when it gets soiled. It's a good buy!

Buy Safety 1st Sounds n Lights Discovery Walker, Dino Now

Originally, I gave this walker only 2 stars stating "We have a 7 1/2 month old baby girl who is starting to pull up and can stand on her own...The leg holes in the seat are at the front instead of the middle, forcing the baby into a sitting, rather than standing position. My baby girl will be walking on her own without the need for a walker by the time that she's tall enough to touch the floor while sitting in this product."

What I didn't realize a week ago is that she had to learn how to stand up in the walker instead of use the seat, and that the walker is not too tall for her (she's between 26 and 27 inches tall). She's still not quite walking, but the walker will allow her to do so when she figures it out. While this design was frustrating at first, it allows your child to sit when they tire of standing. After understanding how the seat works, I consider it an innovation rather than a shortcoming. The way the two sections of toys swivel out of the way to reveal a tray underneath is pretty neat as well.

I stand by my original statement, "The walker is a great value, well constructed, and the toys are great."

I bought this for my almost 4 month son who has been really trying to stand and tensing his legs. I pondered a stationary exersaucer vs. walker. I decided on this walker because it got a couple of good reviews and I wanted something that would fit two purposes, stationary entertainment and walking practice when he is older. My son is bigbut his feet are a few inches from the floor. That's fine with me since I don't want him moving in it yet, anyway. I folded up a blanket and put it under his feet so there won't be too much pressure on his bottom in the seat. He is happy and has been trying to explore the little toys. I would reccommend this walker.

Want Safety 1st Sounds n Lights Discovery Walker, Dino Discount?

I read the reviews before I bought it. It said that there old enough baby feet were no where near touching floor. The lowest adjustment was too high. I ignored it since my granson is tall for his age. He is now 8 mos old and his feet dangle. Should have listened. This manuf needs to check and compare heights. Also seat leg cutouts are quite stiff and when baby sits in it for 15 mins (since he cant go anywhere) thighs are red. Also the light up dinosaur lights up only half the time. I would not recommend this walker at all. Should have returned it..

Munchkin Deluxe Auto Bottle Warmer, Black

Munchkin Deluxe Auto Bottle Warmer, BlackThis bottle warmer takes forever and I've never gotten it to warm anything in a reasonable amount of time. From my experience (I'm a mother of 2 and I exclusively fed my babies breastmilk and travelled a lot while doing so), there is NO car/portable bottle warmer that can effectively warm milk in a reasonable amt of time (30 to 40 mins is not reasonable when baby is hungry) !!

After trying numerous travel warmers in vain, I finally figured out a simple way that really works.

I use a wide mouthed vacuum thermos flask and fill it up with very hot water. When baby is ready for bottle, I place the bottle right inside the thermos flask and cover the lid for about 4 to 5 minutes. The result is perfectly warmed up milk !!

Some tips:

I have the Ozark trail Vacuum bottle (bought it at Walmart for under $20)

U can find any wide mouthed vacuum flask that works for u

I can fit a Dr.Browns 4oz bottle (without the nipple and cap) or a medella 5oz bottle (used with medella pump) inside it. With the Dr.Brown's bottle, I remove the nipple and cap and place it in with just the stopper I do securely close it with stopper and the rim so there is no risk of either milk spilling or worse yet water getting inside bottle. Its also possible to use the medella bottle cap securely on Dr.Brown's bottle. After warming, I fit in the nipple.

While placing bottle in flask for warming, I use just the top lid of the flask and do not use the mouth portion : it allows me extra height to fit bottle in. I do use the flask mouth and all its pieces to securely carry the hot water but while warming, I remove the mouth and use just the bottom and lid.

I boil water on stove top so it stays very hot (rather than just filling hot water from the tap). I usually take refrigerated breastmilk (if frozen, I thaw it a little to make it liquid).. I carry the milk with a cooler and ice pack so it stays cool and fresh until I am ready to thaw it in the flask.

Fill flask with very little water, so that when bottle is placed inside, excess water doesn't fall out

This method is so much more reliable, simple and portable (u don't even need to be near a car) and it really really works.

I hope this helps other moms/dads out there !

I can't believe that other reviewers gave this item one star! I use Avent bottles with it and it works great. My only complaint is that sometimes it works too well and makes the bottle too hot. I used another bottle warmer with my older kids, but it took forever and just didn't get the job done. This one is fast. Another great feature is that after the bottle is warm, you can stow the cord in the back and take the bottle in the thermal case with you (as we often do to a restaurant). And it fits in my cupholder while heating!

Buy Munchkin Deluxe Auto Bottle Warmer, Black Now

It will keep an already-hot bottle warm, but it will not heat a bottle up, which was disappointing. I guess I can still use it to keep bottles warm for short trips.

Read Best Reviews of Munchkin Deluxe Auto Bottle Warmer, Black Here

I've never written a product review before, but this product was such a disappointment, I wanted to spare other moms... As a previous poster noted, the heating wrap gets warm, but never warm enough to heat the contents of a bottle. After 45 minutes, our formula had inched its way up from cold to barely room temperature, and after that much time, I started to worry about food safety. Going through the Starbucks drive-through and asking for an extra cup of piping hot water to warm a bottle in is more practical than using this product.

Want Munchkin Deluxe Auto Bottle Warmer, Black Discount?

We received this as a baby gift from our registry selection. The concept is great, but the execution is lacking. If you have a cold bottle, you can expect to wait 30-40 minutes before the bottle is barely warm enough for the baby. We drove to Huntsville last weekend and knew that our daughter needed to eat in an hour. Rather than waiting until she was ready to eat to start warming the bottle, we started warming it an hour ahead of time. It was warm enough by then. You definitely don't have to worry about the bottle getting too hot. You would have to drive 4 hours for that, although I've not confirmed it. =)

We have a DC power inverter and I tried plugging in our regular bottle warmer but all it did was blow the fuse. Now I'm searching for a better alternative than the Munchkin Deluxe Bottle Warmer that I'm reviewing here.

Doll Pram Hearts

Doll Pram HeartsMy daughter got this as a first birthday present. She is now 15 months old. She loves dolls and loves pushing her fisher price shopping cart, so this seemed like the perfect match. We went with the pram rather than the umbrella stroller model because with limited space I reasoned it could double as a doll bed, and I figured my daughter would enjoy looking at her dolls as she pushed them. In retrospect, I'm not sure how much either of these things mattered: given the angled push bar, the pram DOES double as doll bed and stroller (as well as anything and everything hauler for my older child), but it takes up a lot of space length wise in its own right. Also, the one year old seems less interested in looking at her dolls and more interesting in just piling whatever it is she feels like pushing into both this and her shopping cart with little concern for arranging them nicely (the 5 year old can look over from the top of an umbrella stroller perfectly fine, so while she plays with the dolls more nicely when using this toy, the doll facing child feature would have been unnecessary for her). This may, of course, change as my toddler gets older.

All that said, however, the truth of the matter is that both children prefer sitting in the pram THEMSELVES to actually loading dolls or other toys in it. They have been kept entertained for almost a half hour at a time by the 5 year old pushing the 1 year old all over the house in this stroller.

PROS:

Solid, heirloom quality construction.

Can withstand the weight of my 18 lbs toddler riding for a long time with no issues. Withstands the weight of my 35 lbs. 5 year old sitting in it too, though I usually tell her to get out pretty quickly just to be safe.

Came fully assembled, is both cute and sturdy.

When my one year old was still learning to walk, her plastic fisher price shopping cart would not always be well balanced enough to hold her weight and erratic movements. The low center of gravity and slanted bar on the doll pram kept her upright and moving forward beautifully (no skidding and falling over, with the cart toppling as with the fisher price cart toy)

Doubles as doll bed and allows for lots of imaginative play (even the one year old likes feeding her dolls while they lay in the stroller).

CONS:

Wooden wheels are difficult to turn on laminate and carpeting floors (especially with the carpeting). My 5-year-old can manage, but usually either has to make wide turns, "multi-point" turns, or pop a little bit of a wheelie (even I catch myself popping wheelies when turning on the carpet for expedience at times); my 1-year-old can basically only push the pram in a straight line... not sure how long it will take her to be able to manuever it properly, but don't think she'll get it much before she turns 2. In contrast, she is already able to turn and manuever aforementioned plastic shopping cart with relative ease.

Quilt and pillow are not as well made as I would have hoped (for the price!). They are both stuffed with very low quality poly filling, such that the pillow feels understuffed and the blanket feels overstuffed (almost like an additional thiner matress more so than useful in covering up the dolls. The heart is an applique on top of the blanket, not a quilt, so there is nothing holding the front and back layers together, which also creates more of the mattress feel than serving as a useful doll blanket.

This stroller is so sweet. I love that it is wooden. The design is very cute and the stroller is well made. The pillow and blanket gives it an extra special touch. My daughter adores this! I would highly recommend it!

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Peek-a-Boo Cuckoo

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Peek-a-Boo CuckooIn some cases the more a child enjoys a toy, song, book, or whatever, the more annoying the parents will find it. So far the "Fisher-Price Peek-A-Boo Cuckoo" has found its way into our daughter's heavy play-time rotation, but had not caused too many headaches for the grown-ups.

One of the things that she likes is that she can push the button at the top of the clock and an illuminated bird pops out. Our daughter is 10 months-old and she learned how to push the button almost immediately. Each time it brings a smile to her face.

The bird is one feature but there are many more

By pressing the middle of the clock-hands (which do rotate) you are able to play songs.

The dial at the top can be rotated to the "Sun" postion to play daytime songs or to the "Moon" to play nighttime sings.

A little side is key makes a clicking sound which represents winding the clock.

Rings are attached to the side... I am not sure why they are there, but my daughter plays with them.

The clock is not too loud and it offers a nice variety of sounds and music. This is what helps to keep the annoyance factor to a minimum.

Final verdict A nice inexpensive toy that children from ages 6-24months will enjoy.

5 Stars

Got this when it was on sale before Christmas for my 8 month old baby. Didn't have any expectations for it because it was so inexpensive but have been very happy with it. There are two modes -an ABC/counting/teaching and a music mode. My baby especially loves to grab at the little cuckoo birdie that's hidden and pull it out. She reaches for this toy every time so for what the low price, it is definitely worth the money. The music is fun and the toy seems very durable.

Buy Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Peek-a-Boo Cuckoo Now

Purchased the Fisher-Price Peek-A-Boo clock for 13 mo old who had shown facination with household cuckoo and other clocks. Toy arrived securely packaged and in perfect condition. Our toddler immediately began to play with it and quickly discovered the large buttons and how to release the cuckoo. She spent 20 minutes sitting and exploring the toy which is remarkable as her usual attention span is about 3 minuntes per toy! She continues to enjoy and "dance" to the music of the clock every day. As she gets older, I expect that she will start to learn from the built in educational material. The toy has been dropped many times and has suffered multiple assaults by tiny hands upon the cuckoo bird yet remains intact indicating good durability.I rated it 4 stars only because the hands do not move independently therefore is will not be useful as a means to learn to tell time. This is not an issue at for us at present but I will be watching for a second toy clock with this capablility in the future

Read Best Reviews of Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Peek-a-Boo Cuckoo Here

I got this for my ten month old. She loves it. The first thing she noticed was that she could pull open the door to the cuckoo and reveal the bird which starts a song. She loves the song. She has recently figured out that she can push the button that holds on the clock hands for more songs and loves that too. I actually prop this up in the corner of her crib so she'll see it when she wakes up from a nap or in the morning and play with it. The toy still has room to grow because she hasn't yet discovered that she can spin the sun/moon wheel and that she can turn the key. She also doesn't know she can open the bird's door by pushing the button on the top of the clock. I've been very pleased with this.

Bottom line: Good buy for the price particularly if you can grab it on sale. Consider it as a crib toy. Takes up very little room in the crib standing up in a corner and doesn't trigger easily by accident if bumped at night.

Want Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Peek-a-Boo Cuckoo Discount?

We purchased this clock for our 18 month old daughter who has started to take an interest in clocks, picking them out of books and pointing out the clocks on the wall. We wanted an early teaching clock that was safe for her age and also could grow with her and teach her numbers and time when it came time for it. I saw this online and the reviews were good so my husband went out to get it. When he came home with it I was very surprised to see that the hands do not move independently which means you can not point at different times on the clock. Worse yet, when you put the big hand on the o'clock (12) the little hand is almost never on another number so it is never __ o'clock! It is cute and maybe a good baby toy but is not good for growing interest in clocks and how they work! We went back on a search and found the Melissa & Doug shape sorter clock which although it is recommended for 3+ she can grow into it with a little supervision and help now and lots more learning later!

Skip Hop Alphabet Zoo Rock and Stack Pull Toy

Skip Hop Alphabet Zoo Rock and Stack Pull ToyBought this for our 19 month old daughter. She loves placing the characters back on the posts and enjoys pulling it around the house. It does have an option to move the wheels up and down, up so it rocks and doesn't roll, one so it just rolls. I didn't give this 5 stars because I moved the wheels the first time, and one broke off in my hand. Amazon did an amazing job with the return-my husband was handing our package to the UPS person, they said, "well, here is your new one", and handed him the replacement!! Good job, Amazon. Its a very nice gift for a small baby and matched her pink elephant theme. I would recommend this toy. I can't say for sure how durable it is as we just got it but it appears to be durable.

Overall it was just cute. The size how ever was much smaller than I had expected . I guess if the measurements were better specified I would have caught that this was very small.

This has got to be the cutest stuffed pink elephant I have ever seen. Just the right size for baby with a rattle in it. I am going to use it for the top of a diaper cake. Eyes are sewn on so baby can't pull or chew them off. Also available in blue for a baby boy.

Gund Baby Jesus Loves Me Musical Lamb, Cream

Gund Baby Jesus Loves Me Musical Lamb, CreamI ordered this gift for a baptism since it had a cross ribbon attached and played the song "Jesus Loves Me". When I received the lamb in the mail, the ribbon was the only thing that looked like the lamb I ordered. The lamb also played "Rock A Bye Baby" even though the attached tags stated: "plays Jesus Loves Me". I was very disappointed and don't want to order another one because I fear I will get the same thing.

Very cute but the music plays for only a short time, a VERY short time. Not really worth the price.

The lamb was cute & soft. Wish they made the lamb in a little larger version. It has a large turn key sticking out the lambs back,so easy to find and easy to wind up. It played a beautiful Jesus Loves Me. Great gift for my granddaughter's baptism.

This lamb is so sweet! My 21 month old daughter loved this from the moment she unwrapped it! It is fairly soft considering it has a music player inside, and plays for longer than you would expect when fully wound. A great gift for any baby or young toddler!

LeapFrog Twinkle Twinkle Little

LeapFrog Twinkle Twinkle Little, ScoutMy daughter has the larger "Violet" Leap Frog toy and I purchased this cute mini version (I have the purple violet one... only difference is the color) for a long car trip. She LOVES this and it's her new "nighttime" toy. The little moon lights up. It has three buttons off, a "short" little song such as ("Naptime's here, my eyes, they close...") and then either 10 or 20 minutes of lullabies or nighttime music. The little "Blankie" is removable/washable and threads through the moon to stay put. My daughter is 10 months old. She puts the blanket up to her face and uses it to soothe herself to sleep. Highly recommend! (FYI you cannot customize your child's name like the bigger Violet/Scout).

this doll enables us to drive for up to twenty minutes without my four month screaming. she hates the car. she has hated all other cars, the three types of carseats that we have used, having people ride in the back, and every other type of distraction. i put this in with her and her screams of outrage turned into song. now she sings with the puppy on every trip (that last less than 20 minutes).

thank you whoever created this. thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My son got this for his first birthday and we all love it! He has the bigger Scout so was excited to see a familiar face when he opened his gift and pulled out this adorable mini Scout. It plays music, the moon lights up, and the blanket is removable and washable. I would recommend it to everyone and it will be a new favorite thing to give at baby showers. Too cute!!

Love Little Violet, my two girls had Glo Worms and neither one was impressed with them. I personally didn't like its hard face and fact that it played music for such a short time. Little Violet is much better, longer playing (10 & 20 minute settings) and is soft. My 7 mos old baby girl loves her naptime & settling in on car trips. My friend is having her first daughter in a few weeks this is what I'll be gifting her. Recommended.

Small kids like to push buttons and 3 buttons are too much for a child in the middle of the night. The sleep button is hard for my 20 month old to find when she is trying to turn it on herself while sleepy yet, the power button is in just the right place to turn the the sounds off as soon as she tries to cuddle it. The play time/nap button is the button seems to be the easiest to access.

When you push the sleepy time button it doesn't play the music or the nature sounds immediately. Instead it is a woman's voice says "10 min of lullabies, (press again) "20min of lullabies", (press again) "10 min of nature sounds", (press again) "20 min of nature sounds" before playing any music or nature sounds. I'm not sure if my daughter is repeatedly pressing the button trying to find the music and nature sounds because she is only hearing the woman's voice or if she is just pressing buttons.

The low volume is still a little loud but it works and I suppose it drowns out any other background noise that is happening in the house.

I like that it will play for 20 min. I like that it has the option of lullabies or nature sounds. I like the songs it plays.

Overall I am thinking of getting another seahorse for this second child since it is so easy for them to turn on by themselves, i just wish it had nature sounds.
