My daughter got this just in time for her first birthday. She loved it! The little bear plays "Happy Birthday" and we would sing the song inserting her name and she would beam with joy. It is very well made and each piece is darling. It's fun to play with even after the special dayshowing her birthday cake photo and remembering the celebration with her. Well worth the price!

I ordered this for my daughter's first birthday. It is absolutely adorable. Everyone at the party thought it was very cute. The insert to hold a small photo is great as my daughter likes to look at pictures. I hope to keep this long term as a keepsake for her.

Lamaze Rainbow Stacking Rings Developmental Toy

I have a stacking rings toy from another brand, but is made of hard plastic. A couple times, my baby has whacked himself in the face or hurt his gums with them. I purchased Lamaze's stacking rings and he loves it much better. It's soft so it doesn't hurt.

Bright colors, different textures and patterns, high contrast "stick" to put the rings on. It has held up well with all the playing so far too.

My son loves the rattle and crinkle aspects of the toy, and I like that it's not plastic. But the top ring's seams split open, exposing the stuffing, and so I had to throw it out after just a couple month's of play.

I really like these rainbow stacking rings because they are quality made, have terrific textures and colors and are easy for baby to grab, mouth and toss about. We've been playing with this product for about 3 weeks and it doesn't disappoint. The rings stack onto a black and white striped base which has some fun ribbon strips sprouting out the top. Each of these features are interesting and attention grabbing for baby. I love that I don't have to worry about stepping on hard plastic toys or that baby will whack himself in the head with this rings (which he seems to do a lot of lately!). This is a great toy for my little guy, who is currently 7 months old. I suspect it will amuse and delight him for some time to come...especially when we start to really learn colors, size relationships and more. For comparison, I have the fisher price stacking rings, which are a classic toy and fun, too. While we are enjoying the FP rings, I just love the Lamaze stacking rings...worth every penny and I would buy them again.

My granddaughter loves this toy. She is 11 months old. The music and sounds are soft and fun. She is teething and bites on it all the time and she now launches everything across the room since she discovered she can do that and the toy takes the brunt of it with no damage, scratches, or changes to the music. This is very well made and fun.

Cute phone, could barely hear it. We also purchased the red version of this phone (we have twins) and it was much louder, but not offensively so.

I purchased this phone for my 2 year old daughter as an attempt to make my cell phone appear a little less desirable. She loves to say, "Hello" and jabber away into the receiver. She's happy to now have her own phone. Although, I was hoping it would do more based on the description. It'd be great if it had a recorded hello or other sound effects like the numbers etc. In hindsight, I definitely would've gotten the Hello Elmo phone eventhough it was a few dollars more.

We purchased two for our twin 2yr old's. The picture on screen is made to change every time they open and close the phone, however both of ours failed fairly quickly, getting stuck on one picture or half way changed to another. The mech that changes the picture is weak, but other that the buttons make noise and the girls still like them. You may just get tired of hearing "Daddy, phone BROKE!"

Nothing about this toy seems baby friendly, Im not so sure whoever made it has every even met a baby.

It is hard heavy plastic and hurts baby when she is playing with it laying on her back.

Also, I dont know about your babies but with mine everything went right to the mouth! That being said, the top clear part and the reflective under part are not sealed! Baby drool and or water if you try to clean it get inside the cavity and does not come out. It caused a damp condition ideal for mold. Gross

My daughter has two of these rattles. We keep one in the car seat with her and one in the diaper bag just in case we can't find her first one. We have better rattles than this one, but it works perfect for when we are out and she needs to be entertained. I love that she can old it or out it on her wrist and shake it. The quality isn't he best, but it works and seems safe enough for use when we are out. That being said, I am not sure I would use it as an everyday rattle for her.

Baby Xylophone Musical Toy

In many ways this is a great toy, we like the sound, weight, bright colours BUT the mallet is VERY DANGEROUS for small babies, especially those teething who will stick everything in their mouths. Although the edges are rounded that will not prevent the ends getting STUCK in your baby's mouth. While happily playing and chewing my nine month old got the end of the mallet JAMMED between the roof and bottom of his mouth. Horrible experience, fortunately he was fine but it could easily have become a real nightmare. DO NOT GIVE THE MALLET TO BABIES. Save this toy for when chewing and exploring with the mouth are long over.

After lots of searching I settled on this model for my 10 month old boy. He's still a little young for this but will grow into it. This is the perfect design for young kids and is well made in Israel. The pitch is excellent and the design is sturdy. Rounded edges are nice and safe and the kid can't pry off any of the notes. It gets dropped a lot. The mallot is just what you want too, as they will stick it in their mouth and run around with it, so you don't want the standard stick. Worth the exra money!

Received this as a gift for my then 1 year old daughter. I'd seen a lot of xylophones in the stores, but they sounded AWFUL (either an incomplete scale or WAY out of tune). This one seems to be a true scale, not musician quality, but you can play little tunes on it. The mallet looks flimsy, but has withstood my daughter's vigorous play. The frame is solid. The paint on the keys has not chipped and is bright and cheerful. Doesn't seem to have any hard or pokey edges.

Bottom line: It doesn't look very impressive, but it's well-constructed and in tune, which is important if you're hoping to encourage a good ear for music.

After playing with all of the xylophones in the stores and finding at least one bar out of tune, I searched on Amazon, and found this little guy. No bells and whistles, but it is actually IN TUNE!!! I had to tie a ribbon to the striker so it didn't get lost, but this was an absolutely easy consolation for finding one that didn't grate on my ears.

This is the only xylophone I could find for babies that is actually in tune! It plays a complete scale (C to C) so we can play recognizable songs on it easily (fun!) plus it has the added educational value of teaching little ones what a scale should sound like. I really like the plastic edges, which cover up the sides of the keys so babies can't chew on them. The mallet is plastic too and seems safe to me. It's nice that the mallet attaches to the back of the xylophone so we don't loose it.

Shame on me for not reading the dimensions, but I thought I was getting a "lovie" for an infant, maybe 12" square. This is more like an infant area rug! Product confusion aside, I do love this thing as a baby play mat. It is so very soft and cute. The back of the giraffe is soft and plush, while the underside is silky. Baby can play with the ears and "horns" during tummy time. Throw it in the wash if it gets dirty. I think I will get more use out of this than what I actually thought I was buying...

This blanket is so perfect! Super great quality and my son now has 2! One for home and one for Grammies house. He loves it and it covers his pillow perfect for bed time. He loves to have it layed over his pillow to cuddle with it. He and I truly love this great little blanky!

Rubie's Costume Baby Noah's Ark Collection Precious Wabbit Costume

I was hesitant to purchase this costume since infant sizes are so difficult to determine and the ranges on this particular costume were 0-6 and 6-12. I was in love with this costume though and finally purchased the 6-12 month. It fit perfectly! My daughter was 6months and 3 weeks, just shy of 16 pounds and 27.5 inches long. There was maybe 3 inches to spare in the feet but the body fit great. The hat was a perfect fit and her head is 17inches in circumference. Just thought I'd add some measurements so it helps the next person. It was also a nice weight, not too warm but just enough. It was soft and my daughter didn't mind having it or the hat on. The carrot rattle was a great little addition too!

Our daughter hasn't worn this yet, but it looks adorable! However, she will be 6 months old for Halloween and is long for her age, and the 0-6 size is still pretty big! So if you have a newborn, this will NOT fit!! I can't imagine her being able to wear it if she were under 6 months old!

I got this costume in size 6-12 for my daughter who is 9 months old (19 lbs and 27 inches tall) and it fit her great! There wasn't a TON of room length wise so if you have a tall baby, go one size bigger. I was able to use the hand wash cycle in the washing machine and air dry without any problems. Something a little strange about it, there are two tails one on the back and one on the hat! The one on the hat is only sewn on with two stitches so I just removed it so it wouldn't look so weird. It comes with an adorable carrot rattle as well. I had so many people tell me how cute she looked and even one that said it was the cutest costume they'd ever seen...she was a hit in this one! I highly recommend it, great fit and great quality!!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Coconut Tree Shape Sorter

I got this for my son who is a huge chicka fan. It's a very nice and very well made wooden shape sorter. It's a classic and will hold up for many years.

I really like the wooden box and shapes. But for a shape sorter, 4 shapes to insert is a really small number. Six out of the eight sides have no hole at all. I liked the tie-in with the book, but would not buy this again.

Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Rock-a-Stack

We received this as a gift. When I gave it to my 8 month old son, blue dye was all over his mouth and hands. I called Fisher Price to complain and they stated that they have not recalled the product since the dye was non toxic. They then refused to tell me what was in the blue paint. I did a search online and this problem has been ongoing since April 2009. WHY WAS THIS NOT RECALLED???

I called the fisher-price customer service line to ask if this product contained bisphenol-a (deemed toxic recently by Canada) and they refused to answer stating the content was a trade secret and spouting off a rehearsed line stating that the FDA had not found reason for concern about this type of plastic (in the two major studies conducted by them that were, surprise, funded by the plastics industry). I thanked them and bought something else, the Melissa and Doug stacker made of wood and lead-free paint. Fisher-price, shame on you for not being upfront about this. Get used to the question because American consumers are getting educated about this possible very dangerous plastic in our children's toys, baby bottles, Nalgene bottles and lining 95% of the canned food and soda we drink. If you aren't already aware of this danger, educate yourself and find out why Europe and Canada are removing it from food products and children's products.

I purchased the Rock-a-Stack for my 6 month old son on Friday April 3,2009. I came home to wash the product and soon realized the water I was washing it in was blue. Then my hands and arms were stain blue. I was very grateful that I washed this product before giving it to my son. Who knows what type of paint Fisher-Price uses and even if they say it is non-toxic as parents I am sure we don't want our children getting the paint in their mouth. I scrubbed the blue ring for a couple of minutes and there is still dye coming off of the ring. I can't imagine if I gave this to my son, his clothes, skin, blankets, and our carpet would have been stained blue.

I DO NOT recommend this product and I hope this is taken off the shelves at stores ASAP!

CURIOUS GEORGE VISITS THE LIBRARY

Curious George is on another adventure. This time he's in my favorite place, the library. The man with the yellow hat has brought George to the library for story time. He likes the books but sees one on dinosaurs that he hopes the librarian reads next. He gets impatient, takes the book and runs off. This is the beginning of his adventure. He goes through the library finding neat books and making a big mess in the process. The boys and girls at the library, along with a volunteer help clean up the mess. In the end the man with the yellow hat helps George get a library card and they both check out lots of great books.

I liked the story and the pictures in the book. It's another great adventure with Curious George.

I would recommed this book to others. It can be used with young children who are just learning about the library. It would make a great read for storytimes.

"Curious George Visits the Library" is, as the title page notes, "Illustrated in the Style of H.A. Rey" by Martha Weston. In this tale, George--"a good little monkey and always very curious"--visits the public library with his friend, the man in the yellow hat. Chaos ensues as George frolics through the library, but it all ends happily.

Curious George is an enduring cultural icon, and this book is an enjoyable addition to his adventures. He's a cute and likeable character, and despite his disruptive antics, his love of books makes him admirable. Although mischievous, he is never malicious, and his attitude throughout is positive. Weston creates a nice portrait of a multiethnic community at the public library. Her illustrations are full of clever visual touches and entertaining details. If you're a fan of the curious monkey, don't miss this book.

The Deglingos Baby Blankie

This is a great little "blanket" for our son. He loves to chew on the ears...and likes to feel the different textures.

I love the coloring so if he spits up on it, it doesn't stand out horribly! : )

It has made it through the wash many times with no issues--very durable.

Bought this little sheep for our baby daughter for Christmas. She was five months old at the time, and even then found it an interesting cuddly. She loves looking at it and holding it and even gnawing on him on occasion. The sheep has different textures and is soft. And in appearance, he is a little bit unique from your usual stuffed toy. They have many other animals in this line, and I would definitely buy another one.

I love the Deglingos toys! This "blankie" is more like a lovey or minky...just something for a small baby to cuddle with, which is why I bought it. I love the different off-the-wall patterns. I'm thinking of purchasing a pair of the kicks, just for fun, and maybe another one of these loveys to keep around as a spare. I think the price is a tad steep for this particular product, but I guess they're from the UK...maybe. I didn't do too much research on it. All in all, I really do like the "blankie". I bought this because I needed to come up with something to give my 10 month old son for Christmas and his room had an ocean theme. Also, my daughter has the full-size Deglingos cat and he's pretty dang cute. The product is well-made, colorful, and full of different textures for baby to explore, but my son just wasn't interested. That doesn't mean it's not totally adorable, it's just one of those things that your kid either loves or it doesn't.

Boikido Wooden Giraffe Xylophone

It's so adorable but it doesn't even approximate a scale. I would say that 3 or 4 of the notes are about right, and the rest are so flat that they're nearly a whole note off. Playing chopsticks is almost unrecognizable. So if what you're looking for is musical exposure, you may be disappointed. If you want a cute toy for kids to bang on, you can't get much cuter than this.

I agree with the other reviewers. This is not one of Boikido's better products.

it is (or at least it looks) durable

decent hand-eye coordination toy

Cons:

the "antlers" really are too short. My 11-month-old's tuny hands barely fit around them in a way that she does not bang her hand against the thing every time she goes to tap it.

the notes are terribly flat. I'm not particularly musically inclined and I don't think it would bother me if they were a bit off but they sound exaclty like the pots and pans my kid likes to bang on (just softer). they are not "musical" at all.

doesn't stand up. the picture made me think that you'd be able to store it standing up but it falls over if you try to do that.

It's off key (the orange, 3rd metal bar for the MI note, it sounds the same as the RE note); actually, both RE and MI sound dull compared to the rest of the notes.I know coz I play the guitar and tune by ear.Sad, coz the giraffe is cute.Another gripe about it that the hammers are too small.My daughter uses her drum sticks (plastic ones) because those are longer.She's tiny for 22 months and these are even smaller.I don't see this toy being played with past 2 years old because of the extremely short hammers(the giraffe's tufts in blue/purple).Sorry, Boikido, I'm not buying anything from this brand ever again.I rarely write bad reviews but I feel I have to be honest as I base my buying from reviews as well.Cute,but badly executed!

Mary Meyer Flip Flop Plush Bossy Bull 14"

We got this for our son's first birthday, and he loves it, especially the beanbag feet. He likes to chew on the feet, so with his new teeth coming in I was a bit nervous at first that he might tear through the fabric, but so far so good. Until I am more confident that the eyes will not come off and the fabric will not rip, we are only allowing our son to play with this while we are playing with him. It seems very good quality, so I am becoming less worried, but with a baby who likes to put everything in his mouth, I figure I can't be too careful. I will try to post an update in a few months after he has had more opportunities to play with it.

Snuggy Baby Child's Doll Sling Baby Doll Carrier -Pink Paisley

I bought this for my oldest daughter's 2nd birthday. She has played with it off and on for the past year. Her younger sister is starting to play with it now, and I'm sure they'll really start using it more once our third child is here and I carry the baby in my Moby wrap.

I ordered 2 of these for my 4 year old twin girls' birthday. The girls absolutely loved them and they are super cute however their babies must be a little bigger because they barely fit in there. When they got their babies in the carrier it rode really high, just a smidge below their chin. They still loved them but Grandma had to take them with her to add some fabric to them to give them some length.

Under The Nile Animal Print Sleeping Doll Lovie

My son never really enjoyed using a pacifierbut he used this doll as a teething/soothing toy for a long time. We named her saliva sally, and she was so treasured that she is included in the presents to all expecting friends. I highly recommend the producteasy to clean and softthe perfect toy for roadtrips or sleeping. The hands and face are a little bit firmer so when my son teethed he would chew on those parts and it seemed to provide a lot of relief for himone of the best purchases we made when he was little :)

This was the best first introduction to puzzles for my daughter. She got this puzzle for her first birthday. With her love of animals, it was an immediate hit! The pieces were large and the large chunky knobs made them easy for her to hold. The painted picture underneath that correlates with the puzzle piece is fabulous! Although my daughter can't always get the pieces back, she is learning the dexterity skills she needs! It holds up well to teething, although the wood is soft enough to show indentations over time. My daughter's favorite hobby so far is banging the pieces together!

This puzzle was ruined in a day. My toddler had a mouth full of paper after only a few minutes of playing with it. So I threw this puzzle into the garbage. Worthless as far as I am concerned. I rate it about as high as any other Melissa & Doug product. Very cheaply made.

I bought this as a gift for my one-year old grandson and he loves it. The large knobs make it easy for him to grasp.It is very durable and the bright colors make it even more attractive.

This puzzle was wonderful and sturdy. My nephew loved holding the large knobs and picking the pieces up and putting them back down. Definately a toy that will be around for several generations.

The three farm animals have wonderful expressions that encourage our grand daughter to pick them up. She loves them and the large wooden knobs make it easy for her to pick them up. We have three now and will probably purchase more very well made toy!
