Potty Elmo

Potty ElmoAfter some initial trouble getting it out of "store mode" and into "normal play mode" (we had to reinsert the plastic tab and pull it out again a couple of times), we have really had GREAT success with this toy! I have 27 month old twin girls. The first one trained herself at 23 months, and we have been working with the other one on and off since then. She is a HUGE Elmo fan, so when I saw this toy, I HAD to get it! We have had it a few days now, and I am happy to say that teaching Elmo to use the potty has taught my daughter to use the potty! I used this toy, along with a potty training book, and new Elmo Panties as a reward, and it really worked!

The only thing that is a bit tricky for my daughter is when Elmo asks for a drink, you have to trigger a button type thing in his mouth with the cup, and a lot of the time she missed it and I had to help her. But, that was minor. He is SO CUTE and so much fun!

My daughter is an Elmo fanatic and when we experienced resistance with potty training we thought "Potty Elmo" would do the trick. Unfortunately this doll was of little to no help in getting our daughter more interested in the potty, but I can certainly see why it would work with some children. This is how Elmo educates your child on using the potty: first he asks your child to give him a drink (you hear little gulping sounds as Elmo "drinks" from his cup), then he asks to be put on the potty. If your child waits, he asks a little more frantically ("Oh, oh, oh...Elmo has to go to the potty") If your child gets Elmo on the potty on time, he sings a cute little song about how he is learning to use the potty. If he doesn't make it in time, a little sound effect ensues and Elmo may declare "Whoops...oh well, accidents happen. Sorry". What's nice is Elmo doesn't always do the same thing. Sometimes, for example, he'll sit on the potty but he won't need to go. It makes it a little more realistic on what a child can expect during potty training. My daughter really enjoyed playing with Elmo and I do think it helped her understand the idea of potty training better, but she still remained obstinate about using the toilet. I do think every child is different, however, and if yours is showing a little interest in the potty, then Elmo just might do the trick in helping him or her along. And even if it doesn't work, you still get a cute doll out of it. My daughter is 5 and has been potty trained for a long time, but she still enjoys playing with her "Potty Elmo" from time to time. So in the end, all was not lost.

Best of luck!

really helped my daughter want to learn how to go potty...with a 2 year old, anything elmo does they want to or will do...what a great way to emphasize potty training!

For some reason I thought you could actually fill Elmo's sippy cup with water and he would 'pee' it out. This Elmo prentends only. He will ask for a drink when you press his hand, make drinking sounds, ask for more juice, and then tell you he has to potty. When you sit him on the potty he hums until his business is finished and a toilet flushing sounds. His underwear can be pulled up and down but do not come off entirely. My almost 2 year old loves him but still wil not sit on her potty. She knows when she has to go and will pull her diaper down when she does and even wipe herself with a baby wipe but forget sitting on the potty or the toilet. I don't know what scares her but seeing Elmo on his potty doesn't seem to help. She does like him and she'll play with him often but I still need to find some way to get her to sit on the potty.

It took me a full year to potty train my daughter. She just would not go and sit on the potty. I tried a potty book, which had lots of rave reviews from other parents. My daughter loved when I read it to her, but nothing. A friend with 2 children recommended getting a potty doll. I found the Potty Elmo while doing a toy search on Amazon. I bought it since my daughter loves Elmo. I brought it home, and that night we practiced teaching Elmo to potty. Within one day my daughter was using the potty. No joke. It was worth the money.

My First Photo Album

My First Photo AlbumI bought this for my daughter for her first birthday. She's 18 months old now. She loves looking at the pictures and saying the names of people. However, she was able to start ripping the plastic sleeves apart and taking out pictures after having it for 1 month. At this point, the photo album is completely destroyed.

I bought this for my 18 month old. It is perfect so they cannot rip or bend the pictures.

Disney Baby Princess Music and Lights Walker, Pink

Disney Baby Princess Music and Lights Walker, Pinki bought this walker for my daughter after she wore out her first one. i thought it looked cute and i loved the idea of stationary toys and the opening trays.

the walker was easy to assemble, did it myself, but i was disappointed to find that although the box advertises it is for four months and up it clearly is not.

my daughter is going on eight months and cannot reach the floor in this walker. i am not sure if perhaps ours just has a defect and is supposed to go lower, but it seems to click into the lowest setting just fine it looks to be correct. but that's a four month difference and had i known that i would not have purchased it.

also, it's not the best walker in terms of your child getting around. the one i had before this had eight wheels and she could run all over and turn easily. this is one of the walkers where they can't really back up and/or turn easily which may be a bonus for some parents, but i found it to be annoying and my daughter gets frustrated in it after having one previously that could go anywhere.

OVERALL: it's very cute and in general it is well made. i just want to point out some of the flaws so you don't waste your money if your child is only four or five months old and you find they're stuck in the air because they can't reach!

4 out of 5 stars.

hope this helped!

My third daughter is in 75%tile for height and her feet are 5 inches off the ground for this product on its lowest setting. As a result she banged her head on the toy in front as she couldn't reach the ground to stabilize herself. It was also very difficult to put the toys on top and required some screws to be taken out then put back in.

By the time she FITS in this product she will already be walking and will not need it!!

Im returning it today, cute, but much too tall, and no way for a 4 month old baby. I wont buy further products from them based on how unhappy we are with this product.

Unless your baby is built like Yao Ming, I would PASS;)

Buy Disney Baby Princess Music and Lights Walker, Pink Now

i purchased it coz its very girly girly , but box says 4 months and up , my daughter is almost 7 months and she is tall baby , she still needed 3 inches for her toes to touch the floor, just waste of time and gas and 35 minutes wait to retuned it ,

Bottom line.... false advertising...with intent to mislead consumers. My daughter is 8 months old and 28 inches and her feet STILL are not flat on the floor. This walker says from 4 MONTHS UP! No way... such a waste of money. The toys on this walker are incredibly LAME. Please DO NOT buy this.. you will waste your money. I have no clue how this walker has some good reviews because it simply is a piece of junk.

The front of the seat has three mounting buttons that should lock into the three mounting holes on the tray to secure the seat. After placing our granddaughter in the seat, we found that these buttons will not stay locked into place, causing the seat to fall in front. Another example of a company using popular Disney characters to sell poorly made merchandise.

Spinning Gears

Spinning GearsThis was a big disappointment.

First of all, the gears are very loose onto the main body of the toy, and will just fall off if the toy is tilted. I can't imagine why it comes with a handle, all the gears would just fall off. Secondly, although the description didn't state this, I had expected that pressing the music buttons would make the gears actually turn not so. Finally, the description says it's good for any child over 12 months the packaging actually recommends 18months+. Because the gears come off so easily, it takes more manual dexterity than a one year old has to turn the gears without them flying off.

Save your money.

Taf Toys Infant Car Seat Style Toy

Taf Toys Infant Car Seat Style ToyLike another review I have found that the mirror is not in a place that would allow the child to see herself. However that is alright since there are other components to entertain the child. The toys dangle and seem to dance and jingle while the car is moving. This movement always prompts my daughter to "talk" to the characters and keeps her happy for much longer than she would otherwise be. The only complaint I have about this toy is that you need a headrest in order to attach it. But my daughter has loved this toy since she was a month old and still does at four months old.

filmsy, toys comes off after a period of time and also there is no hook if you don't have a center head rest!

I bought this to occupy my 2 month old grandson, as he travels in the car. This toy is not only adorable, but the baby LOVES IT! Even if he is fussy, when getting into the car, as soon as he sees it, his mood changes. Well done Taf! Thanks for offering this toy, Amazon!

Read Best Reviews of Taf Toys Infant Car Seat Style Toy Here

Better used as a toy to attach to the inside of the crib. Unless your baby has crazy long arms or the back of your seat is really low your baby will probably not be able to reach the toys, just look at them, which was a tease to my kid. Didn't really like...

Want Taf Toys Infant Car Seat Style Toy Discount?

I bought this a year ago after an unsuccessful attempt with a similar item by Sassy. This is much better! It holds the toys out so that the baby can see and reach them. They dance as the car moves and are very entertaining. Today my 13 month old was actually able to squeeze the sun hard enough to make it play its music for the first time. He was so excited. The velcro is strong enough to withstand tugging from a child but the toys can be taken off to be used separately (in a stroller or a restaurant). As mentioned before, you do need a headrest to attach the toy. All in all I would call this a very good buy.

Moo & Baa Pacifier & Rattle Holder

Moo & Baa Pacifier & Rattle HolderThis product is very durable and super cute. Works well to keep track of baby's binki but also makes a fun toy for him.

As with all Haba products, highly adorable. But the clamp is too easy to undo and my baby always ends up chewing on it. We had to take it away completely because it's inevitable that he will clamp his lip or tongue.

Buy Moo & Baa Pacifier & Rattle Holder Now

I love Haba toys, so when I found this pacifier chain, I eagerly ordered it. It is really cute, and my baby liked playing with it, but it ended up being quite impractical. First, as other reviewers have noted, it is super difficult to loop it onto the pacifier. Took me about 15 minutes of working at it to get the cord over all the wooden toys.

Second, it's not very long, so if you don't clip it in exactly the right spot, and baby turns his head, the pacifier pops right out of his mouth! So we ended up never clipping it because of this, and we just used it as a handle.

Third, if your baby falls asleep with the pacifier in her mouth, this chain can end up uncomfortably pressed against her face. I always had to swap the pacifier with another one that didn't have the chain on it once baby fell asleep.

In the end, we would have been better off using a ribbon-style pacifier holder.

Read Best Reviews of Moo & Baa Pacifier & Rattle Holder Here

Once our baby found her fingers, pacis and thus the paci clips cycled quickly out of use. But for the short time we used this, we thought it was really cute... a little bulky and heavy for a younger infant, but probably great for an older infant who can get some entertainment out of it and it's easy to retrieve out of a crowded diaper bag.

Baby MovesTM Shaker Weights by Discovery Toys

Baby MovesTM Shaker Weights by Discovery ToysI thought that these toys were useless. I was wrong.

The problem was that we got them as a gift upon the birth of our first child. That is WAY too early for this toy. They're too long to hang from a cradle or car seat handle (babies don't like being hit in the face as they're carried, even with soft things). We took them out again when he was about 3-5 months old and just starting to sit in an exersaucer and play with both hands. Again, that was too early, because these are not small toys.

The right time to introduce these toys is when you have a free-sitting, (preferably) crawling baby. They'll be big enough that the baby wants to pick them up (babies love to pick big things up), but they're soft and light, so if they tip over onto them, there's no injury. The middle section is small enough to be grabbed easily. The rings on the handle clink together and each "weight" has a rattle inside. The bright, primary colors make for great teachable moments, as do the sun, star, moon, and mirror on the ends.

We made these available to our second child just as he started to crawl and he loves them. He usually doesn't play with them for long each time, unless someone's with him, talking about what he's seeing and doing, but he goes back to them over and over. He's now eight months old and still goes to them a couple of times a day.

I've noticed that toys like this are more interesting to babies if you take them out of the toy rotation for a few days or a week and then reintroduce them. It's like a whole new toy every time because your baby's a whole new baby. If you have a toy rotation, then you have less clutter on the floor and fewer choices to overwhelm the baby. It's also easier to see which toys really aren't interesting (instead of having the baby skip some toys just because there's so much going on visually that they get missed).

The only drawback that I've found is that my crawler would love to chew on them, but the edges are too thick to comfortably chew. But he has plenty of teethers and he has to learn sometime that not every toy is for chewing.

Bottom line: Once your baby is sitting solidly, almost crawling, introduce this toy.

Earlyears Wiggly Twist

Earlyears Wiggly TwistCute-looking, well-made little toy. Our 6-1/2 month old granddaughter was fascinated by it at first, but it's not her favorite of this type. Maybe she's too old for it. I thought it would make more noise than it does, so it's not my favorite either. Maybe I'm too old for it.

Baby Playzone Push N Glide Driver

Baby Playzone Push N Glide DriverMy son started playing with this toy when he was six months old and absolutely loved it and still likes it. It helped motivate him to crawl but this toy should be a playpen toy (I had hardwood floors) or you should not allow your child to play with it unless you are right there because (as another review said) my son will also reach his arms out and the toy flips up and hits him in the face. This toy may be much better on carpet but probably won't slide as well. Great toy...with close supervision.

I bought this for my daughter who is 10 months old, and she LOVES it! She is just starting to crawl and cruise, and this toy gives her hours of enjoyment. It has an off switch and 2 volume levels, which is very nice for me. It's just a great toy!

I received this as a shower gift and broke it out of the packaging when my daughter was 6 months old and sitting on her own. I put it in front of her and she loves to play with the "shifter" and honk the horn she knows that it will make noise and light up. I think that she will continue to enjoy it as she begins crawling. Only downfall the noise can become annoying after a little while but as long as the baby is entertained I am happy!

Evenflo Bounce and Learn Bee Exersaucer

Evenflo Bounce and Learn Bee ExersaucerI recently bought this exersaucer for my 6 month old boy (who is big for his age: 21 pounds, 30 inches). Although it is super cute and not as cluttered or overstimulating as other exersaucers I've seen, I'm overall not impressed with it for 4 reasons:

1. My very large baby can't reach the floor even on the lowest setting, so we have to keep a folded-up towel under his feet so that he's not just hanging there.

2. After only a few days, he managed to chew some of the paint off of the dragonfly's face. This concerned me enough to remove the dragonfly completely from the item, which is sad because he really liked that part.

3. As far as he knows, this thing does not bounce. The springs are so stiff that it takes a lot of force from me to create a bouncing motion. I guess I should be grateful that he can't bounce it himself because it makes way too much noise---a delightful crashing plastic noise.

4. There is one place on the toy tray that does not have a toy. I did not know this because in the picture, the empty place is hiding behind the bee's head. However, be warned that it will seem to be missing a toy when you are assembling it. Maybe there are extra attachments that you can buy??

I'm considering returning it....the only reason I haven't yet is because baby boy loves hitting the frog on the head for the sound effects.

EDIT: Shortly after posting this review, I found more paint chipped off of a different toy (the eggshell/bird toy), and therefore I have decided to return the item. It's a shame...it had a lot of potential to be good, but the thought of my baby eating paint chips is a deal-breaker for me.

This exersaucer is definitely going to last us a long time. Baby is a little young to really get into it, I know the suggested age is 4 months, my little guy is only 3 but he has great neck control and loves trying to stand. I know that he is going to grow into this and love it. There are 3 replaceable toys and two electronic toys, so there are less batteries than the frog evenflo bouncer. It also has the stabilzer feet on it, which was really important for us since little one is no where near ready to have it wobble around. I am very happy with this and can't wait for the little guy to grow into it!

Buy Evenflo Bounce and Learn Bee Exersaucer Now

Bought this for my 4 month old and she liked it right away, even though she couldn't make it bounce at that point. As the other reviewers noted, we did have to place a pillow on the bottom so her feet were touching (she's 60%-75% for height). She is now 7 months old and still needs the pillow, but has been bouncing in it just fine since she was 5-6 mo old. She loves to bounce. It's a good amt of bouncing so she has fun, but she can't get too crazy with the stiffer springs so that I worry about her head bouncing too much. However, I have a 26 mo old that gets in the bouncer and can definitely really make it bounce! There are 2 chew, flexible toys, 1 with a bird in an egg that vibrates when you pull the string (my daughter has always loved that), and 2 toys that need 3 AAA batteries each that talk, sing & make noises (1 has a mirror). My only complaint is that nothing plays full songs, or anything like the classical music from my old Baby Einstein exersaucer. My baby does chew on the butterfly & apple & thankfully we have not had any issues with the paint coming off. Overall, we are very pleased with this bouncer and it has worked out great!

Read Best Reviews of Evenflo Bounce and Learn Bee Exersaucer Here

We bought this because I assumed new model= new and improved. The lowest setting is so tall that my 4 month old's legs needs to grow at least 3 inches before he can touch the base. He is in the 75th percentile for height and weight. Seat padding is cheap feeling with no quilting or softness. The head rest part of the seat is supported by a thin piece of low density foam that falls backward because the stitching is too loose. If I had seen this in a store I would have bought a different model. I have only had this for 2 days and cannot write a more detailed review, but wanted to warn others of how high this is.

UPDATE: Baby is now 10 months old and feet have only touched bottom on lowest setting for 2 months. This is by far the least stimulating toy he has and he screams when I put him in it. It also makes a cracking screech noise when he does jump. By far the worst design yet for an exersaucer. It is cute but that is the only compliment I have after owning it for 6 months.

Want Evenflo Bounce and Learn Bee Exersaucer Discount?

The back "hooves" are filled with beanbag filling, and when held up, they turn around backwards due to the weight which kinda weirded me out a little...

Of course, I give this toy a one star for educational value, becasuse... lets face it... as realism goes, it misses the mark entirely.... Not it's fault at allit's supposed to just be a cute, whimsical little horse.

Kidz Delight Tech Set Trio

Kidz Delight Tech Set TrioWe bought a set of these for our 10 month old triplets hoping to achieve two goals. One, we wanted to have something to swap out when they start gnawing on our tv remote and phones. Two, we wanted small toys that we could toss in the diaper bag that had a big entertainment factor despite a portable size. These toys absolutely accomplish this, and score big time on all metrics. They love the silly noises the remote makes, although the only buttons they can seem to press on their own are the ones that make the toy talk in Spanish and French. They love the songs the mp3 player plays, and enjoy chewing on the remote and smartphone as much as the real thing. These were a lifesaver in a restaurant yesterday when they got antsy. I'm considering purchasing a second set so we have one for the diaper bag and one for home. The toys are colorful, fun, do lots of stuff for their small size, and are extremely durable. They survived being tossed on the ground and run over by the stroller a few times already. I would really highly recommend them. I especially love that the kids are entertained by them now, but as they get older and understand more about how they work they will love them more and more. A great toy for now, and to grow into.

These are really cute. I would say that my son likes them. I got them for him since he loves to steal my iphone but to him they aren't the same. The buttons on them are kind of hard to push and you can barely hear the phone make it's sounds. They are really cute toys and my son loves to play with them but they don't replace the real thing in my son's eyes.
