Lamaze Celeste Play & Grow

I bought this toy for my newborn, and she has really warmed up to it (especially the sunshine side). I think it will also serve as a nice lesson on daytime and nightime when she's older, as it has a sun on one side and a moon on the other. The toy seems very durable, with nice bright colors and strong construction. If I could change one thing, it would be the hanging hook, which won't open to put it around large bars. You have to put it around a string or a thin bar.

Aside from that, I plan on buying more of these Lamaze products for my curious little daughter.

There are so many ways for baby to engage self with this one little toy, it's amazing! The little blue square with the parrot on it is a rattle baby can bat or jostle for several minutes of fun. Bee is a sweet little squeak toy. Star is a textured teether. And the textured rings are a nice touch as well. All of these in addition to the different colors and textures of the cute, cute sun. And then there is the adorable moon on the reverse side. Of course, the faces on the sun and moon are fun for baby, too. It's easy to see how the use of this toy will grow with baby so it will be useful for several months or longer. A very impressive little toy. It should be on every new mom's must have list.

Our 5 month old twins have had several Lamaze toys like this one. They absolutely love them. We first got this one at 4 months. They were completely taken by the sunny face and wealth of things to grab onto. Now at 5 months, they've started specifically zeroeing in on what they want to grab on this toy as it hangs over them on their playmat. They love to chew on the knotted sun rays. I highly recommend the Lamaze toys in general.

I gave this doll to my daughter for her birthday and she absolutely loves it. The clothes and doll itself are very nice and of good quality material and are easy to clean, even after my daughter tried to share her breakfast with her doll! My daughter is definitely learning how to be a "little mommy" to her doll and I am quite proud of how well she takes care of it when she plays with it.

Potty Elmo

After some initial trouble getting it out of "store mode" and into "normal play mode" (we had to reinsert the plastic tab and pull it out again a couple of times), we have really had GREAT success with this toy! I have 27 month old twin girls. The first one trained herself at 23 months, and we have been working with the other one on and off since then. She is a HUGE Elmo fan, so when I saw this toy, I HAD to get it! We have had it a few days now, and I am happy to say that teaching Elmo to use the potty has taught my daughter to use the potty! I used this toy, along with a potty training book, and new Elmo Panties as a reward, and it really worked!

The only thing that is a bit tricky for my daughter is when Elmo asks for a drink, you have to trigger a button type thing in his mouth with the cup, and a lot of the time she missed it and I had to help her. But, that was minor. He is SO CUTE and so much fun!

My daughter is an Elmo fanatic and when we experienced resistance with potty training we thought "Potty Elmo" would do the trick. Unfortunately this doll was of little to no help in getting our daughter more interested in the potty, but I can certainly see why it would work with some children. This is how Elmo educates your child on using the potty: first he asks your child to give him a drink (you hear little gulping sounds as Elmo "drinks" from his cup), then he asks to be put on the potty. If your child waits, he asks a little more frantically ("Oh, oh, oh...Elmo has to go to the potty") If your child gets Elmo on the potty on time, he sings a cute little song about how he is learning to use the potty. If he doesn't make it in time, a little sound effect ensues and Elmo may declare "Whoops...oh well, accidents happen. Sorry". What's nice is Elmo doesn't always do the same thing. Sometimes, for example, he'll sit on the potty but he won't need to go. It makes it a little more realistic on what a child can expect during potty training. My daughter really enjoyed playing with Elmo and I do think it helped her understand the idea of potty training better, but she still remained obstinate about using the toilet. I do think every child is different, however, and if yours is showing a little interest in the potty, then Elmo just might do the trick in helping him or her along. And even if it doesn't work, you still get a cute doll out of it. My daughter is 5 and has been potty trained for a long time, but she still enjoys playing with her "Potty Elmo" from time to time. So in the end, all was not lost.

For some reason I thought you could actually fill Elmo's sippy cup with water and he would 'pee' it out. This Elmo prentends only. He will ask for a drink when you press his hand, make drinking sounds, ask for more juice, and then tell you he has to potty. When you sit him on the potty he hums until his business is finished and a toilet flushing sounds. His underwear can be pulled up and down but do not come off entirely. My almost 2 year old loves him but still wil not sit on her potty. She knows when she has to go and will pull her diaper down when she does and even wipe herself with a baby wipe but forget sitting on the potty or the toilet. I don't know what scares her but seeing Elmo on his potty doesn't seem to help. She does like him and she'll play with him often but I still need to find some way to get her to sit on the potty.

It took me a full year to potty train my daughter. She just would not go and sit on the potty. I tried a potty book, which had lots of rave reviews from other parents. Gund Baby Nighty Night Musical Toy

We have now bought two of these little bears, to have one as a back-up. My little girl can't sleep without it. She has accidently hit herself in the face once with the wind up part, but other than that it has been great. It's small enough for her to carry around everywhere without dragging it on the ground, and the music part has lulled her to sleep on many occasions when we did not have a mobile or CD player, like in hotel rooms. She loves it, but it is hard to wash, so that's why we have two. You have to hand wash it and wait for it to air dry, and that does not sit well with our 1 year old little princess. :-)

Radio Flyer Town and Country Wagon

I shopped extensively and Amazon had the best price. The wagon had to be assembled which was easy to do. The husband didn't swear and actually commented on the quality of the hardwoods and flush mounted screws. I thought I would use additional water sealant but the wagon is nicely finished. Oh, one other thing a standard baby bassinet mattress fits beautifully for some padding. The handle is longer than a generation ago, my 6'1" husband is comfortable pulling the wagon.

I had one of these as a kid let me tell you it took alot of ruffness and it was the strongest wagon I have ever had. Now that I have kids they have one and its so cool how the sides come off so when even the kids get bigger you can have just the three sides on and have a bench. AS far as the paint coming off sure with wear but it is non-toxic. Plus any item paint wears off but you are not going to find a more durable sturdy wagon anywhere but Radio Flyer I am a loyal customer and will always be. We love this wagon!

We have had this wagon for almost four years now. After heavy use, some abuse, and getting it in and out of the trunk it is still in excellent condition.

If you have small children at home or just visiting this is a great item to have. We have taken countless walks with our wagon. It is especially helpful when we go to the zoo or to a festival where the little ones will get tired from all the walking. It will easily seat three toddler to preschool size children. A sleeping baby can happily snooze in comfort.

There are several accessories you can purchase (umbrella, pads, etc) that can help make it even more useful.

My children like to pull it around the driveway. When it is empty it is light enough to do this. Dolls and bears enjoy riding in it too!

The wagon is difficult turn over if you make a sharp turn because of a wide turning radius. The quality is outstanding. We keep it in the garage when it is not in play. As with any wood item it will not handle being left outside too much which is to be expected.

To fit it into our car trunk (Dodge Stratus) we have to take off the sides and fold the handle under the wagon bed. It fits in our van behind the rear seat in the same manner.

My son received the town & country wagon for Christmas when he was 2 years old, he is now 30 years old and has a son of his own, who will be riding in the same wagon he rode in. He took care of it and it is in the same condition as when he got it. It is a very good wagon and lasts forever if you don't abuse it.

Don't waste your time with this one...just plain no good.

This was given as a gift to my sone for his first birthday and now at 2.5 he is still fascinated by it. Corolle Babicorolle Pillow Soft 11" Babipouce Doll (Asian)

Babipouce Asian arrived today and my daughter was here with her 3 month old baby girl, Jasmine. Her first comment was that the doll was beautiful and her eyes looked just like Jasmine's. We are thrilled to find an adorable doll that will be Jasmine's first baby doll.

I bought this doll as a first birthday present for a lovely little girl of my acquaintance who happens to be Chinese. The little girl was just beginning to play "Mommy" with her dolls, and I thought it would be a good idea to give her a doll that resembled her, instead of all the white baby clones available at the giant toy store.

Three years later, the doll is still a favorite and is still in good shape. She's had a ride or two through the washing machine, and is reasonably clean. Her head is still on (a problem with my daughter's baby doll), and the cloth body isn't showing significant wear, despite a lot of loving from her mistress. The doll goes everywhere and does everything with her, and is loved very much without falling to pieces.

Because of her resemblance to her child, her "playability" and her durability, I give this doll the highest of recommendations.

I bought this doll for my daughter's first Easter basket when she was 4 months old. She really started playing with it when she was closer to 2, but I love this doll. My sons learned to walk using this toy. It's really wonderful because they are forced to put all their weight on their feet in order to push it, helping them balance properly. When they push it, the beads whirl around in a circle. It's mesmerizing. All of my boys thoroughly enjoyed pushing this toy around, calling it the "helicopter vacuum". It's incredibly sturdy, having now served three toddlers. Best toy purchase ever.

Our then 13 month old son saw this in the toy store he refused to leave without it. He and this toy were inseperable for weeks and at eighteen months he still plays with it daily. Older children will fight to play with it. I was surprised how popular this toy was. In the beginning he was mostly dragging it upside down or on its side and he still loved it for some reason. Simple really is best, apparently. My 11-month-old twins love this toy and have for months now. It's their go-to toy and they have a lot of toys! They love to bang it and chew it and they particularly like putting the smallest red part into the yellow tube.

I got this toy for a baby in the family who is 15 months old, she loves to play with this sorter over all other toys non-stop. My twin boys (9mos) love this toy! They're not quite stacking it yet, but they love banging the pieces together or on other toys. Hape Dancing Butterflies Push and Pull

Please be aware that I only really got to see this product after it was opened by the little girl I bought it for and can't speak to it's long term durability. I love Hape toys and really love the bright colors and simple design of this push and pull. I was just a little worried that the stick, which comes in two pieces and screws together might not be sturdy enough to last a long time. However, I used to work in a toy store where similar Hape toys were sold and they seem to stand up pretty well to the frequent use they got from our little customers.

Got this for my 15-month old toddler. She'll push and pull it along, but it doesn't roll very well on hardwood floors. Not sure if it's the angle she's using, or if it's the wheels themselves -sometimes they seem to just slide instead of roll. Works better outdoors on asphalt or sidewalk. She likes the "clack clack" sound of the wood butterflies, and giggles when the toy is moving. She's dropped it a couple of times, and nary a scratch on our floors OR the toy. Very durable. I just wished the wheels rolled better.

I bought this toy for my daughter, i was so excited since she LOVES animals & things that light up. Thought this was perfect, plus the price wasn't bad (or so i thought). Once i received it i was shocked at how small it was, then the pull string kept getting stuck, it barely moved across our hardwood flooring, and the overall quality seemed a bit cheaper than dollar store toys. =/

If you're looking for a toy that you don't care if it gets destroyed within a day or 2 then this is perfect BUT not worth more than $1. I'd recommend just going to the dollar store for a "okay to destroy" toy.

K's Kids Barbara 7.5" Doll

My daughter loves her new dolly! It's great because it's soft and light and she just loves to chew on her arms and legs. It's also machine washable which is great for mommy! Everything is sewn on so no worries about eyes popping off, etc and becoming choking hazards. It's also durable and can be wiped off when you don't want to throw it in the wash. Great buy!

This is such a cute doll for a baby or toddler. It's completely plush and everything is sewn together nicely, no buttons etc. that could come of posing a choking hazard. It's very hard to find multiracial dolls for a baby, and so after hours of searching on the internet I decided on this one. In my opinion Barbara passes well as a biracial (white/black) or Hispanic doll. It is by far the cutest one I have seen. K's kid also has a boy doll with the same complexion as Barbara.

Gund Reindeer 20" Baby Coat

I have purchased quite a few of the Gund "Holiday" jackets for my granddaughter. They are beautiful, cute and soft. Great for picture ops. The compliments are never ending. The little Reindeer in the pocket is a bonus!!

This coat is excellent! It's well made and very soft inside and out. It's surprisingly thick, furrier than a real reindeer. There's a little tail on the back.

One thing to note is that there is nothing that holds the coat shut except for a velcro tab on the collar--it's more like a cape. If your baby has a large head, that velcro tab might not even close. So, if you want to be able to keep the coat shut, you'll need to add a button or two.
