I have purchased many Kathy Kruse and Haba toys this month, and this is one fine product. Highly engaging and the finest German craftsmanship. You are paying a premium, but this toy is made with pride. Not cheap crap made in a sweat shop by slave chinese labor. Go ahead a splurge, stop buying Chinese toys at Wal-Mart and watch your newborns eyes glaze over with enchantment and engagement.

My mom gave this to my son as a baby gift. We love it! It can be attached to anything from the velcro strap that's on the head. When you pull the longer leg, the whole octopus shakes. I attach this thing to whatever is close to my son since the vibrating motion always distracts him and puts him in a trance for a second which is great for when he's cranky. It also helps while feeding when he is fussing since he can't take his eyes away from the octopus dancing in front of him. It's been a godsend.

I am a big fan of Kathe Kruse products. They're durable, safe, well made, and they're all from Europe which I love. I know that when I buy something that's Kathe Kruse brand, I am definitely getting my money's worth. When I saw this I ordered one because I love how this looks and I love trying out new, interesting toys. This octopus cracks me up and is SO adorable in real life! My daughter loves it too. I hang it on her car seat during car trips and hang it on the stroller handle when we go for walks. On the top of the octopus there is a long "strap" that has velcro on it so you can really attach it to anything. It appears that she's as amused by it as I am. I also have a hard time finding fun items like this that are amusing for both her and I that don't end up looking intimidating. We've had a few toys come in our house that absolutely terrify her. Thankfully Kathe Kruse seems to know what kids like and I haven't run into that with any of their products.

The BEST part about this octopus? If you notice in the picture that the third leg in from the left looks kind of funny, it's because it's bunched up. If you pull on that leg, it stretches out and when you let go, the whole octopus shakes! My daughter laughs hysterically every time I do it and it's not too difficult to pull out so she's starting to catch on. From the product description I didn't know it would vibrate so I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled on the leg and the little octopus started shaking like crazy

I love this goofy looking, vibrating octopus. It's also a good size for my daughter to grab on to and pull on (it's 5 1/2" from the top of the head (not including the strap) to the shortest leg), it's super easy to clean (she seems to like to try chewing it), and it's held up really well. Oh and did I mention it's super cute AND it vibrates? Definitely pick one up for your kids -or for yourself!

Lamaze Developmental Toy, Flip Flop Fred

This little crinkly turtle is great for little hands. It is much smaller than other lamaze stroller toys, but that's what. makes it perfect for smaller hands. My daughter loves the crinkle sounds and knotty feet. It goes with us everywhere!

Or I should that my grandaughter loves it. The only gripe that I have is that product dimensions on your web are incorrect. The toy is listed as being 24 x 10 x 6 inches. Its real size is 4.5 dia. x 2 inches high. I'm still looking for the big box.

Our baby is teething and loves to teeth on the little silky feet. It makes a great crinkly noise that gets his attention and I play peek-a-boo with the head disappearing and reappearing. It's one of his favorites.

Mini Steps - Magical Music Cube

This plush cute cube is wonderful. My son loved it as an infant. The sounds and songs are great. Very soft and nicely padded, each side has a design with a different soft texture.

Thought this block was cute, but it has some faults! I would not have bought it had I been able to test it out personally. It's not very musical, only one nursery rhyme and some sounds. It would easily become boring. Also, to replace the batteries is somewhat difficult.

Chicco First Dreams Crib Mobile

My son hated his room, or crib, or both. It's likely my fault. I resisted a mobile because it didn't really work with the decor and I didn't know if he'd really love it.

Insert Chico First Dream Crib Mobile. All of a sudden my two month old son that would scream bloody murder when laid down loves his crib. You can actually lay him down awake and tired and this entertains then lulls him to sleep.

Best part of all, the mobile has a sound detector that is perfectly sensitive. Coos are nothing but when he starts crying this kicks on and buys me a few more seconds to rub my eyes open and grab a bottle. It's even been known to get him back to sleep unaided!

Very minor complaints, the projector started jerking a little but a light slap and it was back to normal for now. Oh, and it runs on batteries. In my book, the adjustment to sub-par wine for our new battery budget is easily accepted.

This mobile bridged the "plastic, shiny, toys with lights and sounds" and "mommy really likes mid-century clean lines" line.

We purchased this crib mobile in hopes that it would help our 4 month old with her difficulties falling and staying asleep. She absolutely loves the lights and is mesmerized by the planets & stars on the ceiling. Unfortunately, the music even in the quietest mode is still really loud and the songs are way too upbeat and high pitched to be soothing from a sleepiness standpoint. The mobile definitely keeps her attention and she enjoys laying in her crib for some quiet play time, so we won't be returning it, however, I definitely wouldn't recommend spending the money for this mobile if you're only looking for something soothing for bedtime. We'll be sticking with the much less expensive musical seahorse for bedtime readiness. If I were to just rate the mobile/toy itself I would give it 4 stars, however since it's advertised as something that helps babies with sleep, I give it 3 stars.

im really happy with this crib mobile it keeps my baby busy all the time looking at the lights and the toys, but the only disadvantage is the battery finishes very quickly i recommend odering boxes of batteries with it.

This mobile is so frustrating. I knew I wanted a mobile that projects on the ceiling. This mobile does, and it's very cool, but that's where the coolness ends. The mobile part detaches, and it's a good thing, because otherwise it sits at a really weird slanted angle. It only plays two really long songs. it DOES NOT attach to the newer decorative cribs with thick rails that convert into beds later. But the projections were so neat that I didn't want to return it. The round base sat freely (without the mobile) on the nightstand for 3 months and we just used it like that. Then, after a trip to the fabric store, some nylon cord, and some tiny fabric hooks, my husband trimming some extra plastic from the back, and a hole drilled through the plastic ledge, I fashioned a way to securely attach it to our sons crib. Waaay to much messing around. Chicco needs to update their crib attachments!

My granddaughter loves this toy. When she first got it, she loved just playing with the balls, now she is older she enjoys all the elements; from pounding the balls with the hammer, to playing music. This toy has grown with her and will always be a staple for me when I buy gifts for children.

Educational? Maybe for an infant to learn cause & effect, but don't expect to be able play any eight-note tunes on the glockenspiel part of the toy. They advertise two toys in one, but if your ears are offended at all by off tune scales, there goes the second toy, because it's unbearable! I got this toy about six months in advance of our 2nd boy's 1st birthday & couldn't wait for him to open it. I can't describe the disappointment I felt. The orange rung & the two purple rungs at the end are totally out of sinc with the others as far as a scale. It wouldn't have been so bad had the xylophone in the Melissa & Doug's instruments in a box been just as out of tune!

I just don't understand why they'd bother making an eight note glockenspiel if it's not going to be in tune! The toy seems to be made fairly well otherwise, all the more reason it makes no sense why the glockenspiel wouldn't be in tune. I wish I could send the thing back to the manufacturer & demand I get one that's in tune. They advertise that you can plunk out a tune--only if you have a song that requires only about 5 notes & can figure out which rungs are in the scale, or if you want the tune to be totally unrecognizable!

We are only keeping it because our son likes to pound the balls through, but I would not recommend this product to anyone.

We bought this toy for my daughter's 1st birthday. She loved it from the moment she unwrapped it. The construction is super sturdy and it seems like it will last a long time. I read the reviews before purchasing this toy that complained about the xylophone being out of tune and thought that they were being a little bit picky. It is a children's toy after all, not a real musical instrument. After playing with the toy for a bit I get where they're coming from. It's not so much that it's out of tune as there is no tune at all. Some of the keys just make a dull metal plunking sound when you strike them. I would have given this toy all the stars if it wasn't for this small defect.

I only gave it 4 stars because it was much smaller than expected, but other than that the toy is good quality and very cute. My daughter loves playing with the xylophone and hammering down the little balls. Would recommend if looking for a small but fun instrumental/pounding toy.

I just don't understand how someone could make a "musical" toy that is so unmusical. Horrifically out of tune and painful to listen to, with no way to adjust it. It's like a first-reader book with words spelled wrong or letters written backwards. And my daughter doesn't respond much to the other aspects of the toy. So overall, a dud.

Betsy Ross Costume

My daughter is 11, and was Betsy Ross for the Living museum at her school. We thought this costume worked great. The hat is very small elastic though, wouldn't stay on without clips. the chest area drooped a little in the middle but I just put a couple stitches on each side and my daughter was happy with the improvement. Overall a good costume!

We bought it for my daughters God Flag and Country speech. It worked. Now she will use it for Halloween.

We got this for our daughter for her 2nd birthday and she loves it (so does our 3 yr old boy :) They love to lay in front of her and ask her to crawl to them. It is adorable. She does crawl on her hands a knees. It isn't fast, but it is a toy for toddlers. Also, who cares if Ariel shouldn't have legs as a baby?! It wouldn't be fair to all of the kids whose favorite princess is Ariel. What would the catalog read ..."sorry if you like Ariel, we don't have a toy for you since she shouldn't have legs as a baby." If you don't like it, buy one of the other pricesses. I admit, it is a little expensive for what it does. Gund Reindeer 20" Baby Coat

I have purchased quite a few of the Gund "Holiday" jackets for my granddaughter. They are beautiful, cute and soft. Great for picture ops. The compliments are never ending. The little Reindeer in the pocket is a bonus!!

This coat is excellent! It's well made and very soft inside and out. It's surprisingly thick, furrier than a real reindeer. There's a little tail on the back.

One thing to note is that there is nothing that holds the coat shut except for a velcro tab on the collar--it's more like a cape. If your baby has a large head, that velcro tab might not even close. So, if you want to be able to keep the coat shut, you'll need to add a button or two.

UPPAbaby Vista Car Seat Adapter - Maxi-Cosi

I bought it for the Aton Cybex infant seat a pricey but the safest, lightest, easiest to install seat I found it's a high end European brand that's recently selling in the US. The adapter works for both maxi cosi and Aton seats.

The only problem is that I haven't found a good easy way to detach the seat from the stroller the latch appears to be on the inside... Anyway I decided to keep it because I like the Cybex Aton so much.

Those adapters are awesome!! Very easy to install, and makes life much better.

Our baby would be sleeping in the car seat, then we can transfer her to the stroller, then into the apartment without having to remove her from the car seat. I definitely recommend those adapters!!

I bought the adaptes to use for my newborn and her vista stroller and the car seat gets stuck in the adapter. It's hard to sync up and when you do, unless my husband is with me I can't remove the car seat. I wish the adapter worked like the UPV system which is so easy to use. Now I am looking at the infant insert for the stroller seat and a snap and go for smaller trips. Babies are expensive aren't they?!

This toy was given to me as a present and I was immediately taken aback by the vibrant red colour of the animal and the plushness of the construction material...As suspected, from as early as 3 mths old, my daughter immediately gravitated towards it! It acts as a cuddle and play toy, a pillow, and if you unzip the belly, you can take the blanket out..Even with the blanket out, because the head and feet are stuffed, the child can still play with the dog, only the belly is deflated so that it can't stand up on it's own. ..The blanket contains many differnet squares of vibrant colour, each with a letter, animal or other playful image on it, making for an amazingly beautiful, ultrasoft blanket which washes without any bleeding of the colours. (so what if ALL the letters aren't displayed on the blanket?? It's a blanket!! The best quality one that I've been able to find on the market too!!) I would recommend this toy to anyone!!

It doesn't make any sense, but the blanket has only 24 letters.... and from the looks of the picture, which show the letter E ... it appears when they trim to sew the edges of the patterned blankets, they cut off the ends which causes some letters to be lost. the one I received has no "E" or letter "O" in it, but the blanket in the picture has E but apparently not F!!!! The alphabet repeats itself, but no where are the other letters. Why would you sell a blanket with missing letters? Why not just make it slightly bigger or make the design a little smaller to fit? As I began to sing the alphabet song...I got stuck at "E" as my toddler was pointing to the letters....when she couldn't find E also. We continued and then... no "O"... the look on her face was so horrible, i didn't know what to say. I just stopped singing the song. How can you teach your children with defective products???? And she LOVED clifford. I wrote to the company to see if there are any blankets with ALL 26 letters. Waiting a response, but not hopeful. Horrible.

BRIO Toddler Wobbler-Black

We love the black series from Brio and this wagon is very stylish! Didn't want to get a plastic one or anything with primary colors and as soon as I saw this I bought it. Like another reviewer said, it's not very stable so it's not the best solution for a baby just learning how to walk. But for a walking baby it is perfect. My son loves to put his toys (and Brio blocks) in this and we've even seen him climb in it many times, sit down and read a book.

This lightweight walker is totally unstable. My 9 month old tries to pull himself up with it, and it topples over on him and bangs him in the head. It isn't heavy enough for children just learning to walk. I imagine that babies with strong walking skills might have fun pushing their toys around with this, but I don't suggest it for kids who can't walk on their own.

My son started using this when he was 11 months old and not walking at the time. It was his life saver...and mine too! He felt very independent being able to move around with such ease. He used the handle to pull up on because he could not stand by himself and we never had any problems with it falling over on him. I love that this wagon is not bulky like some other models. It fits in the basket of the stroller and we take the wagon to the park so he get get around easier and pick up sticks, etc. The break system works well...especially in the earlier months when my son didn't have control of his speed. This has been his overall favorite toy by far!!! He is now 15 months old and still loves using this wagon to transport his favorite toys even though he has mastered walking.

I agree with the previous post. This is BY FAR the most unstable walker I've ever seen; I really regret buying it. When my son first started walking, it would tip over and hit him. Now that he's a very strong walker, I still find that it tips when any weight is put on it. I can't believe that they can sell these!

Little Tikes Discover Sounds Cell Phone

We just got this cell phone (rated for 6+ months) for our 11 month old son about a week ago.

Durability:

It has been dropped from heights, thrown across the room, beaten onto the cement outside, and drooled on a lot. And I can't find a scratch on it. It's very durable.

Sound:

This toy is much quieter than many other child toys we have. This is a huge thing for us since some toys just seem SO loud. It has a child saying the numbers when the numbers are pressed and has three set sounds for each of the green and red phone buttons.

What my child thinks:

I know this is still his newest toy but my son seems to like it very much. He gets ahold of my cell phone about half as much since we got this one. He likes dragging it around with him so that must be a five star infant rating!

*EDIT* We've had this phone for 3 years now and had to change the batteries recently for the first time. It still works great and after being not played with for many months, it's become a new/old favorite for my son to play pretend. I expect it will last through both our kids.

This phone has taken a beating over time and doesn't have a scratch on it. The thing I love most of all is the volume. It is pretty quiet. My baby can hear it just fine and press the buttons over and over with out it getting on anyone's nerves.

This phone interested my 1-1/2 year old for about a day and has been collecting dust ever since. It just can't compete with the real thing. The sound effects are also very quiet and hard to hear. My 13 month old son loves this book! The sound isn't annoying and he loves to play it in the mornings when he wakes up. Keeps him busy for a long time.

This book reads itself, and has extra songs and little sayings about animal noises. The voice is the same as "my pal Scout/Violet" and it is about Scout and Violet, so my son loves it. It is nice to have a book he can't destroy.

Bought this for my 9 month old and ended up giving it to her early because she got so excited when she heard it while I was taking it out of the box. The songs keep her entertained for now and when she's a little older I think the story will too. My son has access to all his cousin's toys on top of all his toys and this one alone, can make him light up/distract him at any moment. This is the BEST toy you can buy your child at 6mo+. It has not just the text in the book but many different variations of the story. It is, without a doubt, the best educational toy out there. Highly recommended!
