Wonderworld Wonder Sensory Blocks

The product description and picture today, 9 October 2012, is the same as it was when I purchased this toy from Amazon. Do not rely on the product description, it is not correct. Because of this I'm starting my review with an accurate description of what you actually get.

This set includes nine diamond shaped blocks and one plank block. There are three primary colored blocks with a circle cut out of the center and piece of clear colored plastic placed over one side. If you look through these blocks they will tint everything, and if you place two together and look through them you will see the correct secondary color tint. There are four natural colored blocks which have an indented circle on one side, three have a touch element and one has a mirror. The plank has four indented circles with matching touch elements / mirror. There are two sound blocks, one orange, one green.

I bought these for my son when he was 14 months, the touch elements, which all feel pretty much the same and would only be interesting to a baby who's never felt any sort of fabric, are already way to young for him, however, the addition of the plank will allow for matching when he's older. The green sound block works okay and my son likes it, but would enjoy it more if there was more sound. The orange sound block works technically speaking, but in terms of being played with by a baby it does not work at all. The three primary colored blocks work as they should, but could be easily improved on. Right now the hollowed middle is fascinating to my son and the ability to see things in the different colors will be fascinating as he gets older. As "sensory" blocks these are a failure. If you're looking for a good set of sensory blocks keep looking. As a good starter set of blocks with a few sensory elements these are wonderful. Because these are diamond shaped blocks there is more potential when it comes to building and much more learning and exploration than you can ever find with the traditionally shaped blocks, but without being frustrating. The wood is smooth and durable and my son loves to build with these.

We LOVE these blocks! They were purchased for my 12 month old and I can see getting years of use out of these. They are very well made, come in a little bag, and have lots to explore! I love the color blocks, it is so simple to teach primary and secondary colors with these. There are lots of things to touch and match, as well as shakers to play with. A wonderful purchase!

I decided to get these for my 2 year old nephew for Christmas. When I received the box it was small and I was worried that maybe I wasted my money. When I opened the box the blocks are somewhat small but they are exactly like the picture. Different textures and colors. My nephew enjoys playing with them and stacking them up. My 8 month old wore this for almost 5 hours and was as happy as could be in it. She loved to flap the gloved flipper hands. The separate headpiece was comfy and roomy enough to layer a hooded sweatshirt underneath. I would say it was true to size. We purchased a size larger than needed to make it right for layering clothes underneath. The fabric is only medium weight and is ultra soft. It is actually a bit slick so had to be extra careful when holding her not to lose our grip. We received many compliments that it was one of the cutest infant costumes they had seen. I believe this was a good purchase. The greens and pattern of the fabric were well done and look even better than the product photo. The turtle shell is thick and cushiony.

This costume is so cute and my toddler loves it. However it is made of thin material that makes it appear cheap. The head was a bit large and the turtle's nose was a little uneven. I thought about returning but once I put it on my toddler he looked adorable! So I just hand sewed the nose and neck straps and the costume was perfect! I will just add some sweats underneath for trick or treating.

Aqua Leisure Convertible Sunshade Baby Float

Ours started to leak air only after 2 uses. The canopy is a little flimsy but sort of works. The good part is that the wheel is tall and sturdy so the baby feels safe in it. If it wasn't for for leak would continue to use it. Overall it's an "ok" product.

We really liked this float and used it on a trip to Destin, Fl. And for the rest of the summer at home. It is a good float and the shade was pretty good. The only issue is be sure the kids legs aren't too chunky for the holes (the holes are large, but we used it the next summer and she still fit and it held her up, but her legs had become a bit chubby and even though they fit in the holes it left a little red mark from her kicking and moving but if you are getting it for a kid in the recommended age and weight range with average sized thighs it should be fine! Our daughter just has thicker thighs.)

My Hikes Pant Cuff Fasteners are one of those totally cool things I wish I came up with. This smart accessory is pure genius yet so simple to use. All you do is fold the pant leg, slide the cuff fastener on, press and snap. Imagine how paper clips hold sheets of paper together it's sort of like that, except the pant cuff fasteners stay put and look absolutely adorable.

Sometimes, my kids get pants that don't fit right. They go through jeans faster than I can say growth spurt. These are wonderful for those in-between-sizes times. They are perfect for summer, too, and transform long pants into capris in no time flat you can even doubleor sometimes triple-fold the cuffs.

The pant fasteners are made of sturdy plastic and the design is rubber. The quality is very good and they look like they will last a long time.

These adorable (and trendy) plastic slip on "pant cuff fasteners", keep the pant legs (when rolled up) in place...until you're ready to wash or unroll them for good!

Munchkin Muddy Pigs Bath Toy

Very cute bath toys. My sons (3 1/2 yrs & 11 months) got this for Christmas in their stockings. Very cute how the mud "goes away" in the warm water and comes back when it is out of the water. I just didn't know that they could "squirt". I was trying to purchase all bath toys that don't squirt b/c I was sick of the gross mold that grows in the toys. But I used a hot glue gun to seal up the hole before it went in the water and so far it has worked. All in all a very cute toy. Definitely recommend!

We bought these pigs for our 2 year old daughter... she was actually just over 1 when we first bought them. Now she understands more about the pigs when they are dirty and how to clean them. She loves these little guys. They are very cute! The only downfall is they are meant to squirt water so you have the mold issue on the inside. However, that can be fixed by a little hot glue in the hole. :)

I got these for my 16 month old. The mud fades when hot water is on it, but does not disappear. My son likes to nibble on their ears, and where his teeth have been, the paint has scraped away, which means he ended up eating it. So the 'mud' will probably wear off pretty quickly if your kids play often with them. My son likes them because they are a good size to hold, they float, and yes, he can chew on them. They squirt water out of their mouths, but if you tip the water into their head at the end of the bath, you can squirt it all out with none left behind. I always empty his toys of water when he's done playing with them. I give them a four because the mud doesn't actually fade more than halfway, and scrapes off really easily.

As cute as these little piggies are the mud DOES NOT fade away!! We have the dirty dogs and the mud fades almost away with warm water...it's enough to get the effect and have fun washing them...the muddy pigs don't fade at all...very disappointed.

I bought this toy for my friends daughters first birthday and it was at our house for about a week before we gave it to her. In that time my 3 month old daughter fell in love with it as well.

This is a great piano with a lot of different things to explore and play with. There are 5 keys which have a different color, animal and musical instrument represented by each key. It has a drum and sound effects joy stick as well as a karaoke microphone! There is a little dog that moves back in forth to time with the music who is "the leader" of the band.

There are different modes of play with this piano as well. When one mode is chosen you play the keys as its a piano. Another mode allows the name of the color of the key to be said as well as the animal and the type of sound the animal makes. Then another mode plays the style of music represented by the instrument on the key. You have classical, jazz, country and an island type jamaican tune with a few others. The drum counts each pat you make or just acts as a drum. And the sound effects joy stick and karaoke microphone are just too much fun!

My friend said her daughter loves to play with the microphone to sing.

There are lots of lights on here to interest a younger baby. My daughter just loved to listen to the music and watch the lights. I think they should change the reccomended age on this toy to a younger age. Even if your baby cant sit up on her own you can hold this toy with her on your lap and they will like to explore it and look at it. As they get older they will get more interactive.

This is the only electronic toy you need! My 10 month old just got this and she plays w/ it for at least 30 min at a time, a couple times a day. The 3 modes, five piano type keys, 4 directional joy-stick, drum, microphone, guitar playing dog, and 15 LED lights provide a smorgasbord of musical and educational fun.

Counting/Colors/Animals Mode: tap the drum and hear the beats being counted. Press the keys for the color and/or animal name featured on the key and a short tune in the instrument featured on the key.

Listen Mode: each key starts a new classic or nursery song; add animal noises by pressing the keys, drum beats by tapping the drum, puppy noise by pressing pumpy's head, and 4 other funny noises by moving the joy-stick. Swirl the joy-stick to speed up the music and hold it down to slow the music. Sing along using the real microphone.

Play Mode: make your own music using the keys, drum, and joy-stick.

Practicallity: uses easy to find, always on hand AA batteries. Features auto shut-off after inactivity to preserve battery life, but can be switched off to prevent accidental activation, etc. 2 volumes (I think the lowest is loud enough, and could be just a bit quieter, but still, I haven't gotten annoyed yet because of all the variety.)

Bottom Line: This is the most action-packed electronic toy out there and at a very good price too. It is the only one of its kind that you will need, and you do need it.

I purchased this toy for daughter in the exchange of one gift toy. My daughter couldn't stop playing it in the store. So I had to buy it. She enjoys it everyday. She dances on the music. If the music stops, she plays one more key and again the new music starts. Drum is a very good idea. She plays that too. I'm sue she will start counting with that soon. I would recommend this toy to anyone who loves music. This is 100% worth the money. And better than other so called piano's that kids just hit for some time and then get bored because it doesn't play any music by itself.

I purchased this item for my baby's 1st birthday, and also for my god child's 1st birthday. They both love the sounds, lights and movement of the dog. My daughter, who is 22 months, still loves this toy that we got for her 1st birthday. It drives me nuts though. She pulled on the microphone some and after a while it got so staticky that you could barely hear the music! I exchanged it for another (would have returned it, but didn't keep the receipt) but the same thing happened with the second one. She doesn't even pull the microphone anymore, but it's still a static nightmare. I can hear her bringing it down the hall crackle, crackle, craaaaackle, craaaaaack! My son loves this toy. He likes to roll it back and forth then look at the balls inside through one of the two windows. He also gets a good laugh when we play peek a boo through the two windows. The balls inside jingle enough to get his attention but not so loud that they would be annoying.And there is a little music button but it is hard to push and he is more interested in the balls inside anyways.

A friend of ours bought this for our son who is eight months old now. I just ordered our third one. He LOVES to crawl after it and play with it. It truly is one of his favorite toys. My son got this truck at 11 months old. He loves all types of cars and red is his favorite color, so naturally this was a hit. He'll just sit on the floor, rolling it back and forth, while making truck sounds. He likes to spin the wheels, too. It's a small truck, so it fits well in a baby/toddler's hand, and the wheels are the only moving part. It seems very sturdy and safe. We've had it three months and he plays with it everyday.

This toy is as described! Very robust and just ok as a first car toy for my 1 year old baby.

i think this is an educational toy but my baby didn't like to play with it, he's 1 yr old, he seems scared of the pictures. i liked it because of it being colorful, but when my baby steps on it, he ignores it. also, the placing of some of the pictures and the buttons are not aligned.

The blanket is actually a lot smaller than I had hoped. Amazon should include the dimensions in the description.

This was a great hit! Once we figured out how to get it to work, it was fantastic. I loved the way it did numbers when they were pressed upon, and saying the alphabet. I also liked the fact it was soft and the way it's designed gives you plenty of different things to work on learning.

Negative is it's not loud enough, and the pressure points and the letters/numbers didn't align. It is also smaller than it appears in the picture.

This blanket is nice and bright and plays quite a few different songs. I did find like other reviewers that some of the buttons were not aligned properly. Most of them I could scoot into place but there was one that didn't want to move. The blanket is 29" x 29" so it's not as small as I was afraid it would be from other reviews. The baby liked looking at all the colors and as she gets older I think she'll like pushing on the different spots and getting it to play music. For the cheap price it was definitely worth it.

Haba Olli Grabbing Toy

...it's quite heavy. My nine month old loves to pick it up by its hat. However, when she waves it around she comes very close to smacking herself in the head with it. I think it's only a mater of time before it happens, so I supervise her play. I'm not sure I would buy this again.

Cute toy--would reccommend as a high chair toy. Bought for 6 month old and he enjoyed it. Would buy again for a gift. Enjoy.

This toy does not resist ANY amount of saliva. It's pretty to look at but don't give it to a teething baby. The first time my baby played with it, the wood cracked (the red part). So the toy was set aside for a while. The second time we took it out of the toy box the fabric hat, which is glued on with something in two places, came off. I'm not going to wait and see what else is going to fall off this unfortunate toy into the bin it goes.

I Love this sweet little toy. While it is heavy it reminds me of weeble wooble eggs just made of natural products. My son is almost 7 months old and loves to play with Olli. The toy sure knows how to take a beating too! It gets pushed and tossed of my sons highchair over and over and lands on the hardwood floors and you would never know! It is great quality and so cute to look at. I love all Haba toys.

Guess How Much I Love You: Soft Book by Kids Preferred

Not only is this a classic book (abbreviated in this cloth version of course) it is the best soft book I've come across. We have a 6 month old and this has been her favorite toy/book/teether ever since she could control her little arms. She loved it even before she could touch it.

Pros-

* ALL the pages have the crinkle paper (not just the first page like most soft books).

* the textured teething heart is thin enough that my little one can grab it easily.

* "Press" button makes a kissing noise and says "I love you". Has not worn out in the 6 months we've been using it

* Another favorite feature is the "binding" which is almost like a soft rubberized coating. I really don't know what the material is, but my daughter also loves to chew on it. She has had two teeth since four months and there are no teeth marks.

Con-

* Cleaning directions are: surface wash. I wish I could just throw it in the washing machine but I'm sure the "voice" inside isn't waterproof. :-) The same is true for almost all of my daughters cloth toyssurface wash only.

This is my "go to" item. I'll be gifting all new babes with this awesome book.

Love this story for the very young. The cloth format makes it a natural to introduce at an early age. The crinkly sound of each page also makes it a tactile great find!!! I've added this to my collection of reading material for my youngest grandchildren.

My wife bought this book for our 6 month daughter and I am not real impressed for the price. In reality, you are buying a toy, not a book, which is not really what we were looking for.

It has several things for them to play with: a teething ring, it crinkles when the grab it, and it even has a battery operated speaker that tells the baby, "I love you" when pressed. All of these things work as intended, so nothing to complIn anout there, although the piece that holds the jumping bunny is really flimsy, so I would not recommend you let your baby play with it unattended; however, we were looking for a book that our baby could hold on to while we read it to her. The book works for this, but there are better books out there for less money, like the Peek A Boo Forest, which we got on sale and our daughter loves.

Fisher-Price Sesame Street Elmo's Mailbox Sorter

My 21-month old enjoys playing with this but because of the curves of the mailbox a few of the shapes are more challenging to get in. The cavity is also small so if you get a few pieces in, and don't shake to have them settle, you can't get in the envelopes or other pieces. Frustrating for my daughter, from that aspect.

Awesome toy for learning shapes, colors, and great for any kid who likes Elmo.

We should of bought two as my toddlers fight over it all of the time!

Sure, it's a fun and educational toy for my son, but he has another plain shape sorter and it is just as great and only 10.99. I agree with another reviewer that there is a major design flaw too. My son walks away or hits it because he gets a little frustrated that he can't get all of the shapes and envelopes into the box-it gets too full and you have to shake it around. Overall, it's cute, fun and educational for my son but I never would have purchased this at its original price.

Taggies Clickety Twist Toy

I would like to start by saying that this and all other Taggies toys I've seen seem to be of very high quality. I have no complaints in that realm. The fun issue is a different one, though. My baby received this as a gift when he was 4 months old. I can say that in all honesty, this may be among the two or three least interesting-to-the-baby toys we have, and we have a lot of toys.

He likes to manipulate the hoop/rattle at the end, briefly, but the twisting of the segments is way beyond him, even now at 8 months. So it just sort of sits there. For whatever reason, the tags that are the hallmark of this brand are totally uninteresting to my child.

Having said all that, I will say that because the toy seems of good quality,it gets three stars. I think a review should balance how much a particular baby enjoys a toy (here, not very much) with how well-made the toy is (very). And I think there may be a future for this toy in our house. Like so many things, what the baby doesn't like one day is a favorite the next day. Just not super-recommended for younger babies.

I purchased the Taggies Clickety Twist for my 8 month old grandson who finds the tags on every toy, blanket, and article of clothing! He loves it! I also purchased a Taggies book that keeps his attention for a significant amount of time.

We have a 1 year old grandson who has had a great amount of fun and learning from this very creative toy. A good combination of color, shapes, places to hold onto and noises. Great for a child of this age.

Sassy Bathtime Pals Squirt and Float Toys

I did some research on line before buying new set of bath toys for my 10 months old. We had a set that I bought from a large retailer, and then I discovered that they have PVC, so I decided to research for new safer bath toys. A few web sites identify Sassy as one of the safest manufacturers and mention that these toys tested negative for BPA, PVC, phthalate, lead and other chemicals. So I bought these as well as some other Sassy made items for my son.

I've got the sassy "pals" for my granddaughter, and she loved them. What was my surprise when my daughter told me their color started to run, specially the blue, which ended up on the baby's skin! I brought them back home to return them, but missed the deadline. The other reviewers don't mentioned anything like this, so I assume it must have been a bad batch. Just be aware!

PS Since I've wrote this review, I have contacted Sassy, who sent me an envelope to send back the defective toys for Quality Control inspection. They also sent me a set of Stay Clean Silly Squirts, which my granddaughter enjoys. I was very pleased with their promptness, and their level of customer service.

We have 2 sets of these and our son really loved them. Today the whale cracked open and I was horrified at what was inside-thick black sludge of mold! Because there's no way to truly dry the inside of these toys, the water collects and creates the mold. Super gross. We've thrown all of them away and would highly recommend against this product.

I bought these cute toys for my son to play with in the bath. On the plus side, he loved them. On the down side, they harbor mold after very little use -even after squeezing the water out before putting them away. I had to throw them out after smelling the mildew.

Milkos The Cow is super cute. So cute in fact, I had to replace my original Milkos because my friend's 12-year-old cousin stole it off my purse (not all kids are taught manners and his parents did not care, my mom would've...big trouble if I had done that). Anyway, Milkos is so cool I had to buy another one actually I bought two just in case some other ill-mannered child or friend steals the replacement off my purse. Infantino Discovery Elephant

DO NOT GIVE THIS UNSAFE TOY TO YOUR CHILD. While getting my daughter ready for bed, I discovered that her tongue black. I tried to clean it, but it would not come off at all I asked grandma if she ate any prunes for the day? No (not that the organic food I feed her should have any dye). Grandma said that all day she played and chewed on this new elephant she got. I decided to examine the elephant and was shocked and enraged to see that when i wiped the flag on the top of the elephants nose, yellow and red dye easily got onto the washcloth. This manufacter will be hearing from me and I will ensure that this toy doesnt get into the hands or mouth of any other babies!

I really like this toy, but it is a little big for what I had wanted it for. I wanted to be able to take it in the stroller and car, but like I said it is larger then most stroller toys. over all it will be great for her to use in the home.
