Tolo Toys Pop-Up Dinosaurs

Tolo Toys Pop-Up DinosaursMy son is 1 YO and he has so much fun with this toy right now he watches them pop-up (with my help) and he tries to push them back down. The buttons are easy to manipulate I don't think it will be long before he is pushing or turning the knobs himself. And BEST of all Tolo products are all Bispenol-A and phthalate FREE, which are both proven hormone disrupters. This is an excellant company and a great toy I will definitely be purchasing from them again.

I am an early childhood worker and find that children enjoy this toy from toddler hood into the preschool years. It's a little tricky for the very young toddler to manipulate by themselves, but provides a great opportunity for 1:1 play. Once they have mastered the different way to pop up each dinosaur, the appeal seems to last for a long time. Sturdy and long lasting.

My twins love this toy. They can use it on their own and it only makes small noises. The only down side is one seems to get his finger in the way when he pushes the tops down. I love the quality of tolo toys.

My 18 month old received this as a gift for his 1st birthday. I agree that the buttons are too hard to push, they work great if he steps on them. It is indestractable, believe me he has thrown it, sat on it and stepped on it. Problem is, he could care less. We tried playing with him, naming the colors and shapes. One shot through the line-up and he was off looking for something else to do. In my opinion, it's just not interesting enough.

Munchkin Five Sea Squirts

Munchkin Five Sea SquirtsThe Munchkin Sea Squirts have become our son's favourite bath toy, but not without a hiccup or two.

We first introduced him to the squirts when he was about 4 months old, and they actually frightened him. These toys hold quite a lot of water, and they pack quite a punch when you squirt them! He was really quite upset by how powerful the jet of water was, so I'd recommend caution when considering using these with really young babies.

Now baby is in his 7th month, and becoming used to all sorts of new things, and he's quickly had a change of heart about these toys. They're small enough for him to hold, soft enough for him to manipulate them himself, and he really enjoys having the water squirted all about. There's not much doubt about what his favourite toy is now!

So I'd definitely recommend these Sea Squirts for bath time fun, especially for older babies and toddlers. But they may take some getting used to for younger bubs, so use caution if your young one is under six months.

Our 3 year old has had these squirters since he was a baby and he still demands the crab and turtle for his baths. As a baby I think he liked that they were soft and squishy and colorful. As a toddler he loves filling them with water and squirting them. When my niece visits, she loves the dolphin and octopus and together they have loads of fun squirting each other.

They are soft enough that my son can still fill them with water when he can't with other squirters. It's just a great, colorful set.

These are great toys not just for the bath, but whenever you need noiseless toys for a baby (when someone in the house is still sleeping at 6 AM, for example). I got a laugh out of the octupus--he has SIX tentacles!

My daughter loves these toys and looks forward to playing with them in the tub every day. My only concern is the paint on the toys which is starting to come off because my daughter chews on everything. Overall very cute toys.

Want Munchkin Five Sea Squirts Discount?

The toys look very cute.

But I have big concerns about their safety. The paint smell was really bad when I took them out of the package. Not your average plastic smell, but rather oil-based paint. It subsided after washing and a week of airing out but never fully disappeared.

My child puts everything in her mouth at this stage, so I am not giving these toys to her.

VTech Stacking Animal Squares

VTech Stacking Animal SquaresI love it, especially for the design, functions and sounds combination it has. My 11 months baby like it too; nevertheless she cannot fully use it yet.

Our 7-month-old baby granddaughter was fascinated with this toy. Its sounds and colors are not overwhelmingly loud or intrusive and the toy is easy for her to handle as well. She loved it!

If this is the only toy we bought with us my DD is happy to play with it, but she doesn't seek it out. I have yet to get her interested in stacking the blocks but that may happen in the coming months as she just turned 1. I do wish VTech would learn to use softer tones and more songs as the high pitched repetitiveness is a bit much on some days.

We bought this as a first set of blocks for our daughter. Even though she was too young to play by herself when she received it, she still liked to watch my husband or me stack them for her and to listen to the various stories and sounds it makes. She still loves it now that she is bigger (5 months) and can play with it on her own. One of the best toys we found to improve fine motor skills, and baby will have a good time for sure!

Symphony in B Music Toy

Symphony in B Music ToyThis is a wonderful toy that can be enjoyed by both children and adults. The musical quality is great. In addition to providing auditory stimulation, it also provides tactile stimulation and fosters hand/eye coordination. Educational features for little ones include helping to teach colors, shapes, and cause and effect. Older children can learn about the sound of various instruments and develop an appreciation for music. This toy can be used in groups as well as for individual play. I've seen people of all age groups (infants to an elderly individuals)and ability levels (developmentally delayed, dementia) enjoying this toy. Did I say that it's just plain fun? I highly recommend the toy, but I encourage you to check around for the best price. Here on Amazon, it is currently listed at $61.60, while at Target, it's $39.99.

12/9/12--It's up to $49.99 at Target, but $84.99 on Amazon? So much variation in price...

We all LOVE this toy....and as the other reviewer noted, I have as much fun playing with it as my 2 year old daughter does. There are so many ways to learn with the toy as well at the most basic level: colors, shapes, sounds -but also an exploration of melody vs. harmony, woodwinds vs. brass, not to mention all the wide variety of instruments (koto, accordian, and sitar to name some of the more exotic options). The pieces themselves feel great to the touch (and I can imagine a child who is sensitive to those types of things would really find them particularly engaging). The shape-sorter element is a little tricky (even for me sometimes ha!), but a nice challenge. The quality of the sound itself is very rich and not tin-like or electronic-sounding at all; it really sounds like you have an orchestra in your room! The song selections are varied and engaging (from beautiful classical classics to standard childrens' songs you can see a list of them all if you visit B. Toys' website). I will note that this toy can be purchased for almost twenty bucks cheaper at target. My other caveat is that although ours has never broken it can be finicky and take a little jiggling (turning on and off, with fingers crossed) before it works (and there is a sticker on the toy which acknowledges this and provides recommendations). The company seems really great and has advised that if you lose a piece, they'll send you a new one but there is a great storage section in the back where all the pieces fit. If you google "please mom toys symphony in b" you should be able to get more info and there's a demo on b. toys' website too. It is a pricey item, but if you're buying it as a gift for two kids to share or as a special birthday/christmas present, I think you'll be happy with it in the long run. We are!!! Almost a year later (I think?): we still love this, but I only take it out once in a while because I'm nervous about all the pieces. My 32-month old really just likes the music though the fact that she can click the demo button and change the songs...and then she stacks up the instruments...I don't think she's getting the full value of it yet, but I like to play with it myself. Note the current price here of nearly a hundred bucks is insane. I think it's thirty at target.

I am 35, and I had so much fun playing with this toy (my mom bought it for my daughter, who is not old enough yet to play with it). The ages recommended should be 3-83

Read Best Reviews of Symphony in B Music Toy Here

This is an amazing toy with one serious flaw, and that's the DEMO button.

My two year-old instantly realized that to hear the music, just push the DEMO button.

This cancels out the PLAY button and any ability to add/subtract instruments, which is the entire point of the toy.

So, if you're handy and have size small and extra-small phillip screwdrivers, razor knife and pliers, then here's a "hack":

1. Flip it over and remove the batteries for safety.

2. Remove every screw on the bottom except for the ones appearing to hold the speakers.

3. Carefully lift the base off and you'll have access to the little circuit board that holds the DEMO button.

4. Remove that little circuit board and the DEMO button will fall out.

5. Take a razor knife and cut out the guts of that button, like you're taking the seeds out of a melon. I cut the four lines of plastic, then used a pliers to twist it out.

6. Put everything back together and Voilá! the DEMO button is deactivated.

And it is now a perfect toy!

One criticism-

The batteries included with the toy last about two weeks.

So if your toy starts glitching and you think it's broken, it's probably the batteries.

I saw this in a store and knew I had to get it for my kids. They love it, but I play with it even more than they do. It is truly outstanding. The songs are great and the sound quality is wonderful. I love that the accompanying instruments play different melodies that are like listening to completely different songs. I want to buy one of these for every kid on the planet.

Billy Bob Two Front Teeth Baby Pacifier, Pink Lips

Billy Bob Two Front Teeth Baby Pacifier, Pink LipsWOW! I was so shocked by the needless venom of the last reviewer that I had to address them: It is a gag gift and nothing more than that. It is not a comment on our race relations, infant humiliation or anything else so ridiculous to be tied to a just a freakin' little pacifier. It is funny, I've seen it on several babies and not once did I see people hound the mother for any of the reasons you mentioned. Shame on you for making such a sweet and innocent item into some scandalized prop for infant suppression. Give me a break!

I recommend getting this for a baby shower gift, I know the gal who I saw get it was delighted by it and her son now gets a lot of giggles from strangers when they are in line at the store and he looks over his mother's shoulder to greet the person behind them with a "big toothy grin." For those of you out there with a sense of humor, this is a great item; for those of you without a funny bone, I am sorry for how boring and offensive everything must seem to you.

I bought this for my son and people LOVE it! I am asked all the time where I bought it from cuz they want to get it for their grandchild, niece, nephew...ect I often think Amazon should pay me for the amount of word of mouth I have given on this product... I think if you have a sense of humor and don't see it as some slam against humanity (as some reviewer has) than you'll love it, I think if you do have a problem with it you probably aren't even bothering looking at the product page and or its reviews.

I bought this because it was a great price and I thought it was a cute gag and perfect for Halloween. It came quickly, which was great. The issue I have is the nipple is HUGE and would only work for a much older baby. My baby is going on 6 months and is normal for her size. She can't suck on it, it is so big so we can't use it. But it's cheap and cute, I just wish they'd be more descriptive on the size.

Teddy Bear Infant / Toddler Costume

Teddy Bear Infant/Toddler Costume 12/18 MonthsI ordered this costume in the 12-18 month size for my 12 month old, who is the 90+ percentile for height and 75+ percentile for weight. As soon as I opened the packaging, I was impressed with the quality of the costume. It is heavyweight, high quality, and the padding on the tummy was a cute touch. The bear feet are separate from the rest of the suit which is also a plus because it may be difficult for a toddler to walk around with those huge bear feet! I thought the costume itself was perfect, however the sizing ran big. It was wayyyyyyyy too big all around and about 6 inches too long for my son in both the arms and legs. Granted, he is in between sizes; I had debated on whether to order 6-12 or 12-18. The latter was obviously the wrong choice so I returned it for the smaller size. I'm hoping that one will work!

Fisher Price Lil' Adventure Project-A-Bug Lantern - Net sold seperately -

Fisher Price Lil' Adventure Project-A-Bug Lantern - Net sold seperately -I purchased these for my store and when my twins (boy/girl 3y) saw it they had to have it. They especially enjoyed putting the bugs inside the lantern. It doesn't come with the net, you purchase it separately. It makes real insect sounds. I have to remember its just their toy because I start checking my windows to make sure no bugs got in. Fantastic toy.

This would be a good toy...if there was a way to turn the bug noises on and off. When the lantern is on, the bug noises are on. Which is fine from time to time, but not all the time. Even my 2 year old asked me if there was a way to turn the crickets off; my husband wanted to throw this out the window after 15 minutes of consecutive very fake sounding loud cricket noises. The lantern itself is nice and the included bugs do project a slight shadow on the back of the lantern and to some extent, the walls (if the room is pitch black). There isn't much educational or imaginative value to this toy and it does get old fast. There really should be two switches and the noise switch should include 2 levels of volume (low and very low would be best). The lantern automatically switches off after a few minutes of use great for conserving battery, but don't try to use this as a nightlight since your child will call you back into the room after every few minutes, begging you to turn it back on (15-20 minute timer would have been better). Can't recommend, unfortunately.

Tolo Toys Musical Shape Sorter

Tolo Toys Musical Shape SorterMy mom bought this toy for my 13 month old daughter. She absolutely LOVES it! She loves pushing the animals to hear the sounds they make, taking the shapes out and shaking them (they rattle), and turning it over to play with the items on the other side. It entertains her for a good 30 minutes, which is quite long for a 13 month old. I read that some people were not as impressed with it, but I have not had 1 problem. I would recommend this toy to everyone!

My 18-month old son has had this toy since he was 6 months old. He enjoyed looking at it and pressing the buttons when he was smaller, but really appreciates it on many levels now that he is older. He loves to remove the animal shape buttons and carry them around, to press the buttons and hear the music, to fit the buttons back where they belong, and to switch the toggle button to hear animal noises. He also likes the portability of this toy and the fun little handle. He has thrown it around a fair amount and it has held up perfectly. This is a fun toy that grows with babies to toddlers and helps teach them about shapes, animals, colors, sounds, and spacial relationships.

Buy Tolo Toys Musical Shape Sorter Now

She got this toy for her birthday and just loves it. It keeps her occupied the whole time while I am getting ready for work. Her favorite side is the shapes. She will take them out and put them back in over and over again. When she pushes on the shape she will wiggle and bob her head to the music. A good value for the price.

i purchased this when my child was a few months old. she loved it because of the sounds of the animals. as she got older she enjoyed putting the pieces in their places. i have returned it twice because it doesn't work. each time i change the batteries but it still doesn't work. i will return the second and call it quits. the concept is great and when it works it's good but now my child is 18 months and it frustrates her.

Want Tolo Toys Musical Shape Sorter Discount?

My son is 12 months old and has been playing with this toy every day since he was about 10 months. It's extremely versatile usually he pulls the shapes out and uses them as rattles, or plays with the beads on the back.

We got this used, so maybe it's because of that, but two of the songs play at almost half speed have you ever heard Pop Goes the Weasel played as a dirge? I never put it on the music setting because of that, but maybe it's only that way after lots of hard use (though the rest of the toy is like-new).

Overall it's a great toy for him, with lots of different things to do, and I don't anticipate him outgrowing it quickly.

International Playthings Earlyears Sweet Baby Blocks

International Playthings Earlyears Sweet Baby BlocksNote that, as fun as this product is, the manufacturer admits that it is made of PVC, polyvinyl chloride, known to be dangerous if babies chew on it. This toy is only appropriate for older children who don't stick everything in their mouths.

CORRECTION: As one of the comments pointed out, phthalates are the dangerous component of PVC (which I didn't know when I wrote the original review), and this claims to be phthalate-free PVC (I checked, there is such a thing), so presumably it IS safe for babies after-all. I changed my rating accordingly.

I have been hunting for these b/c I use them all the time with toddlers with developmental delays. Stacking is an important motor skill for eye-hand coordination. These are large enough to allow success, and b/c they are rubber, they don't slide off each other.

I also use them for speech. Up is an easy early word, and you can say up up up, boom in play over and over. Then, you can pause while stacking each one (hanging on to the stack so the child doesn't boom them ahead of time), count to three before saying "up" to put the next block on. If you've made this up-boom game fun, your child so wants you to hurry and do it that he/she will start saying "up" before you to get the tower built faster. The blocks also have typical early animals that can be named over and over in play, along with the animal sounds.

I'm ordering a set for work and a set for my granddaughter.

Buy International Playthings Earlyears Sweet Baby Blocks Now

I am not so sure but seems to me that if my daughter bites these blocks, she starts to have tiny little red dots on her face (around her mouth and her cheeks). I now don't give her these blocks to play anymore. I guess I will wait until she grows a bit more then throw out for her to play again. Hope she is not allergic to these blocks. FYI, my daughter skin is not sensitive at all. She has never any skin problem (rash...) with wipes, soap, detergent, diaper...Other toys I purchased did not cause any problem (she bites all of them though). She was 4 months old when I gave her these blocks. She was at the stage that she liked biting everything she had in her hands. I guess I will try these blocks again when she is around 7 months old and see. But be aware that your child can be allergic to these blocks like my little princess.

Read Best Reviews of International Playthings Earlyears Sweet Baby Blocks Here

I was so excited when these arrived. The package looked great and the blocks were so cute. But as soon as I opened the plastic pouch the smell was overwhelming. These blocks have a terrible plastic/chemical smell. They really are worse than most dog toys. I tried to soak them overnight in soapy water...but not only did the smell not diminish, but you can't get all of the water out of the blocks. Since they aren't bath toys I knew they would get mildew or moldy with water stuck in them, and since I won't give these stinky things to a baby, I tossed them. I would not reccommend these.

I can stand the smell of this vinyl blocks, and why they make a hole in them? Baby's saliva will accumulate there and cause bacteria and mold development

Power Wheels Disney/Pixar Toy Story 3 Lil' Quad

Power Wheels Disney/Pixar Toy Story 3 Lil' QuadI originally wanted to buy the Dora Power Wheels, but it seemed that it would not come in before my daughter's birthday so I cancelled my first order. Then I saw this Buzz Lightyear Power Wheels and knew it is more suited for a boy, but my daughter loves Buzz! On the night of her 2nd birthday we came home from Chuck E. Cheese and I had the Quad set up with a balloon in the living room and she screamed and ran straight for it. She sat on it and jumped for a little bit then saw the little red button. Once she pushed it and the quad lurched forward she was initially scared so my niece, who is 14 years old had to show her how much fun it was and rode it. Then my wife rode the little quad and let me tell you that this little thing is one strong toy. Now my daughter has a blast with this little quad and soon I will be upgrading to a larger one once she gets bored. I would recommend this power wheels to all my friends with little or maybe bigger kids.

This was a gift for my son's second birthday.

He instantly loved it! it is perfect for his size and he learned to drive it in a few minutes.

The disadvantage is that it can't go reverse, but i don't think at this age the kids will be able to maneuver it anyways.

I bought this item for my grandson for his second birthday and I placed it in our living room which is fairly big and I let him dicover it. He likes little trucks and anything with wheels! Once he saw the little atv he jumped on it (mind U I didn't show him it was powered) with his full safety gear he likes hats and knee pads witch helps and makes it easy to let him have at it.. So when he discovered the Go button is eyes lit up like spot lights and you could see his excitement and his response was Woah! After that I spent the whole day following him around the house, out front, out back, down the street, up the street, etc... I was impressed how that little battery out lasted him but when he went to sleep I charged it over night and the next day early (why do they wake so early?)he was up and we did it all over again great toy for a little boy or girl I guess! His dad got him home and called and told us that he wont get off it but it goes all day and I told him it's best to charge it up when he's recharging (resting) because you dont want the little guy not to have his wheels. It's just fast enough but I see in the future he's going to need something just a little more speedy, but that's what grandpa's are for.. Lol

The small set is perfect for my nine-month-old who loves to bang them together, dump them out, chew on them, etc. Very engaging, even at this age. And as she grows they will encourage imaginative play. It's nice to have some no-frills old-fashioned toys to balance out the fun noisy plastic stuff.

We have had this toy for a few years and it's still used, and still in great condition. This is a great toy, timeless, educational, beautiful and will last to hand it down to others.

Just got these today---bought the version where the largest bowl is red. My 7th month old was immediately drawn to them(threw his teething biscuit aside!) and with gasps and squeals began rolling, banging, and chewing on the bowls. Beautiful design, nice rounded edges. Thought they would be a bit larger, but the bright, saturated colors make up for it. Was initially going to buy the Fisher-Price plastic version but decided to splurge on a longer lasting, higher-quality toy.

This is a great toy to explore size relationships and, since everything goes in his mouth, I appreciate that the dyes are non-toxic. At first, some parts of the wood were a little rough, but those spots quickly evened out after some use with no harm done.

Eric Carle Brown Bear Touch 'N Read Block

Eric Carle Brown Bear Touch 'N Read BlockWe got this as a present for our one year old. She loves Brown Bear.... It really is a fun toy that makes noises when you push the button and she loves to toss it around. The problem for us was FINDING the button to push. My sister has the same toy and she put a dot with a marker on where you are suppose to push which makes it easier for her two year old. Its hard for little fingers to push it just the right way. I know when my daughter gets older, she is going to love this toy again. She loves to hear it talk.

This gift was a big hit with my niece's one year old daughter. Her 3 year old sister loves playing with it too.

This toy is terrible. It has such a fabulous concept, but you literally have to PUNCH it to hear the noises (and half the time that doesn't even work). My toddler gets so frustrated that he can't do it himself (he's 2) and it tires my arm to do it over and over for him.

It's really a shame because my son loves Brown Bear and this toy is such a great idea. I just can't imagine why the manufacturer created something that is so difficult to play with.

Dr. Seuss One Fish Pull Musical Toy

Dr. Seuss One Fish Pull Musical ToyI bought this among a few other music boxes when I discovered my daughter loved to pull things that made sound at 4 months. This, like the others, was not what I was looking for, but I kept it in hopes that it would be appreciated later. The fish is so fat, that my daughter, at 18 months, would probably still need to use both hands to pull this down. Honestly though, I don't know if she has ever pulled this music box because the velcro is so weak it can barely keep up itself let alone withstand the pulling of the fish to make the music box go. I know this is somewhere in my daughter's room, but I can't remember the last time I came across it. We love Dr. Seuss, but this one missed the mark.

They practiced counting and then put the appropriate number of ducks to float in the pond. The children were fascinated and wanted to play much longer that we could. The colors are bright and the ducks are beautiful. They all float upright and boys as well as girls just couldn't get enough of them.
