Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Classic Xylophone

Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Classic XylophoneThese are such fun, classic toys. My kids (almost 1 and 3 years) both love it! It has the added bonus of being on wheels for pulling all over the house. I only wish the cord were a bit longer. I understand the fear that kids are going to hurt themselves, but if it were even an inch or two longer it would be able to reach the farthest keys. As it stands, my daughter has to really tug at it and hold it awkwardly to reach the farthest key.

I picked the Fisher Price for the durability, believing the overall quality would be good as well. I was terribly disappointed when we opened this for my daughter's birthday to find many of the bars out of tune. Also, the sting is too short for her to get the mallet to the bars. I understand it is short for safety, but even an adult has to struggle with reaching all the bars to tap. I do not like it and will be purchasing something to replace it in the future.

Essential item for your little one's toy box. I remember having one as a kid. I like the stick is attached to xylophone. The wheels are lame...but it works.

This seems like a bad version of what was once a good toy..

1. Pull cord connected to mallet is too short.... So short you can barely play the xylophone. I understand you don't want it long enough for a kid to choke themselves with,--but come on- 2 more inches would really help. (Update: discovered that this cord length helps very young babies play the instrument)

2. It's not on key. Just a bit off.

3. The London bridges song plays so fast when you pull the xylophone along that it is unrecognizable. You can try to pull it really slow...really really slow....

What happened to quality control, Fisher Price? This is sad.

Such a great toy for a little one. My 10 month old loves banging on it and the sound is not annoying. I love playing with it too. Any baby would love this toy simple, fun, and no batteries. What more could you ask for?

VTech Sit-to-Stand Alphabet Train

VTech Sit-to-Stand Alphabet TrainAs a parent, I would rather get those toys at Christmas time that have use to them and that will be played with, but the most important thing to me is it's ability to help my kids learn and its durability. there are some gifts that are given to my kids that I dread seeing when I notice that they have noise. I think there are more people out there like me. Some toys out there are just too loud for my taste. I am very impressed with VTech's line of learning toys and games! I love that the sounds are fun, catchy and tend to keep my kids more in tune with the toy and with learning. With the Sit-to-Stand Alphabet Train(tm), the music and songs that it sings to your child, I often find myself singing along. Yes. I sing along to it. LOL! It almost has a circus theme to the tunes that it plays. Very fun!

Here is a video that I shot of both of my kids (12 months and 3 years) with the Sit-to-Stand Alphabet Train(tm). As you can see, both age groups love it!

The Sit to Stand Alphabet Train was very easy to put together and holds up very nice. I have a 3 year old and he has been caught playing `run away train' from his sister, so the train itself holds up very nicely. He loves to sit there with his sister and put in alphabet blocks that the train recognizes the colors, letters and images that are on each block. When you put in a red letter "Y" block, it will tell you that it is a letter "Y" and asks you to find the "yo-yo", in which you turn the block around. I think this is a fantastic learning tool for infants, as well as toddlers. Kambry is in her first stages of walking, so this is perfect for letting her get a grip on her balance and learn to move those toes with a push toy.

I look forward to many more fun leaning adventures with my kids, and with VTech Kids' Sit-to-Stand Alphabet Train(tm).

Not sure what toy the other reviewers were playing with, but we returned an activity table and bought this instead for our 8-month-old learning-to-pull-herself-up girl. We like that it will evolve as she grows:

1.She can sit and play with it (she likes to turn the book's pages which tell her the different letters on them) or chew on the 26 blocks that come with

2.She trys to pull up and press the musical buttons or elephant which plays songs.

3.We can tell she will learn to take some steps with it, and later she can ride on it.

The blocks can be used in different ways, as blocks with letters and pictures to indentify, you can place them in the slot on top which counts them and they land into the 2nd car, or you put them in the holes which then say the name of the letter and a word that starts with that letter. Sometimes it asks you to find a specific letter block which she won't learn until later, but it should be fun then.

We were looking for a toy for pulling up and cruising, so cool to have found one that does more. As far as the price goes it cost less than the Chicco Talking Garden Table we bought and returned.

I will say this, though, the songs get stuck in your head and you find yourself humming some silly song as you go about your day but this certainly isn't the first muscial toy to do that.

****NEWEST UPDATE 10/6/2011****This is in reply to the few ladies who feel the need to leave negative comments for my post. The MAIN reason for my post was so that parents could hear what happened to my daughter and either not buy this toy or if they did that they can take precautions and unhook the train from the caboose if they aren't going to be right beside them. My daughter DID get her neck stuck between the 2 parts...the train gets attached by a rubber connector so when my daughter fell the way that she did the train seperated further apart and she fell perfectly so that her neck was against the front of the train and when her weight went down as she fell the gap in the train tightened ON her neck...so reguardless of what any of the negative comments say, she COULD have gotten strangled. Just because a product is still on the market doesn't mean that it is safe and just because a lot of people havn't ran into a problem doesn't mean there won't be one. Look how long it took drop side cribs to get outlawed, most babies didn't have a problem in them but lots of them did. There is nothing wrong with being cautious when it comes to the safety of a baby/child and if my post can help keep even 1 kid from getting injured then that was a success. And also, if someone is being strangled, they can't breathe so they won't be crying or whining for someone to come help them...in reply to the latest comment.

****OLDER UPDATE IS AT THE BOTTOM********

My daughters received this for their 1st Birthday and have liked it since they first layed eyes on it. I'll explain the FUN features after I explain the DANGER.

My daughter Madison, who is the smaller of my twins(3-6 months clothes though she is 1) was playing with the train. There was a block on the other side so she leaned over to get the block but she slipped and her neck went between the front and back of the train(where they connect)!! Thankfully I was sitting right there and immediatly pulled her out but she would NOT have been able to get her self out. This is the same flaw that the Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Chair had, there was a gap that a child could get their neck stuck between the chair & table..if you have the older style with that flaw they will send you a new piece to cover the gap, taking away the entrapment/strangulation hazard.

I did email Vtech about this but have not gotten any response. If you already have this toy I recommend ALWAYS keeping the train seperated from the seat unless an adult is right there with them. If you are thinking about buying this train, I'd skip it and buy something else until the gap is fixed...IF they fix it. Hopefully they will address the problem before a child is injured or killed.

As far as fun, my girls really enjoy this. They love turning the pages of the book, love pulling the blocks out once I put them in and just playing with the blocks by themselves. Their favorite thing is for me to pull/push them around while they sit on the train.

I do think this toy is probably more educational for children over 1 year. At one year they can't put the blocks into the side(at least my girls cant). There are little games that tell you to flip the block over to find what is on the other side or he tells you to find the letter 'P' and put it in the side. So 1 year olds have no idea what he is saying.

If you are looking for a toy for a 1 year old, I would recommend getting something else. My girls do like this but they'll gladly skip this & go for their Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Home or Leapfrog Learning Table, they spend way more time playing with those. If you are looking for a Sit to Stand toy, I don't think this is sturdy enough, my girls can go from sitting to standing w/out a problem but if they hold onto this it will normally tip right over. They do like the walker part of the train and are almost walking but when the train is used as a walker it is NOT very stable/sturdy and this will tip/fall either left or right & so will my girls...they fall more with it than if they were trying to walk w/out anything.

***************UPDATE**************

My girls are now 14 months old, both of them can walk, one of them slowly/cautiously & the other is a pro. Both of them still enjoy walkers but if they use the train part of this like a walker both of them will fall down since it is so unstable. They can walk across the room just fine without falling on their own but with this they fall. Right now the only things my girls like about this are the blocks-they like all blocks and sometimes they like turning the pages in the book. This is something they just do not play with much at all. I am putting this away(except the blocks) and will get it out again when my girls turn 2 and I'll see if they like it better then. I definately think there are better options for toys if you are buying for a 1 year old, I wouldnt recommend this unless the child is at least 2, maybe more but I still think there are better options than this. If you are set of getting a train type of toy then get the leapfrog alphabet train, that is much better for a 1 year old. The walker part is sturdy, it rolls easier when riding, has more age appropriate toys on it for 1 year olds & it has more toys on it. It also doesn't have a strangulation hazard. Both my girls love it, my 2 year old niece loved it & my 5 year old niece loved it.

The Vtech is hard to roll-if you are wanting an easy to ride/roll toy then I recommend the Fisher Price Ride Ons-my girls have the Fisher Price Lil'Princess Ride On and I also recommend the Little Tikes Ride On. These are ride on toys only-not learning toys. The Leapfrog is easier to roll than the Vtech but still not as easy as the Fisher Price Ride On or Little Tikes. My girls love riding things or being pushed around so it is better to have a basic ride on toy for that.

Read Best Reviews of VTech Sit-to-Stand Alphabet Train Here

This toy is marketed as being a "sit-to-stand" product for kids as young as 12 months. It is supposed to be usable as a walker with just the locomotive portion of the train, with an attachable "car" that functions as a seat to be ridden by an older child.

The locomotive is extremely tall and narrow, making it dangerously unstable for little ones. When my toddler attempts to pull himself up on this train, it has caused injuries. From the side, the narrow wheel base coupled with the height make this too tippy (think tall SUVs). Either it tips over toward him, causing him to fall backward and landing the train on top of him, or it tips to the other side with him falling over it.

If he approaches it from the handle side (and it is supposed to be usable as a walker), pretty much 100% of the time he grabs the handles and begins to apply weight, the front of the train flies up off the ground while the back wheels fly forward, and the train smacks him in the face.

We'd have taken it back if it weren't such an expensive gift from the grandparents. As it is, our son has to be supervised with it at all times to ensure that he doesn't get hurt. Adding the second "car" with the seat helps with stability (though not entirely), but that renders this useless as a walker for young toddlers.

As far as the annoyance factor, there's no volume control and this thing will not shut up. Just this annoying, circus-like music that plays constantly.

My young toddler has zero interest in putting the alphabet tiles onto the sides of the train (incidentally, it tends to tip over when a toddler is trying to push hard enough to get these tiles into place, kids this age aren't very coordinated and can be very forceful). So, really all he does is push the tiles into the top of the train and watch them shoot out the back.

Definitely not a safe or educational toy for kids as young as 12 months. I personally wouldn't think of using this before 2 years.

It is not a stable toy for a baby/toddler learning to stand and walk, it is too narrow and tall as most reviewers said.

Fisher-Price Team Umizoomi Vehicle - Bot Toy

Fisher-Price Team Umizoomi Vehicle - Bot ToyBe patient and buy this toy from Toys R US or Babies R Us, for $6.99 instead of buying from the second hand dealers. I finally got all three of them this weekend. I am not sure why they aren't sending more then 5 at a time of these toys to Toys R Us, but that's what I would do. They get the toys in on Fridays and that is when they told me to call them to see if they got more in. Then ask them to save it for you behind the counter, but they only save it for a few hours. The toy is super cute, and lots of fun! My little one is so excited, that it is hard for me to wait until her birthday to give them to her! Good size for smaller hands.

This toy is very small. I was disappointed when i opened the package. It looks cheap, but its durable. My son loves it. I just wish it was a bit larger for the price $16.99 plus shipping, was a lot to pay, when it was just $6.99 at toysrus. Its an ok toy, but had i known it was that small, i wouldnt have paid that much for it.

The toy looks very cheaply made but my 2 year old loves it! It says Fisher-Price but I've never seen such poor quality come from them. It's been thrown around for a few days and is still intact, I was rather shocked. I would have thought it would have fallen apart by now. If you can, go get one from toysrus, it's about 1/2 the price. It's a nice size for little hands.

Want Fisher-Price Team Umizoomi Vehicle - Bot Toy Discount?

The toy is small. For the money, one might assume it is more substantially sized, but it is stocking stuffer/Easter basket small. Bot is about 3in tall, and Umicar is no more than 4-5in long. In that respect, it is very overpriced--more appropriate around the $6-7 price point. However, it delighted our two year old, as Bot is his favorite. He carries his little Bot around, and vrooms him in Umicar. So, in that respect, it's a good toy. If your little one passionately loves Umizoomi, and you can bite your lip on the pricing, it's a good purchase.

Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! 1-2-3 Crawl Along Snail

Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! 1-2-3 Crawl Along SnailWe started using this for tummy time at about 3 months, and our little guy has been enthralled with it ever since. He would reach over and try to touch it and this really helped him learn to turn over. Now at 4.5 months he just can't get enough of it and plays with it daily. It was a gift and we NEVER thought we'd get so much use out of it. HIGHLY recommend!!!

This toy is delightful and my 5 month old baby adores it. She laughs and becomes excited whenever I put the toy next to her. It also prevents her from throwing a fit during tummy time. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Buy Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! 1-2-3 Crawl Along Snail Now

This was excellent when my daughter hated tummy time we could put her on the floor where she could see the mirror and she'd happily stare at herself and bat at the toy for a good 15 20 minutes (forever in baby time). Right now she's 5 months and it's still a good distraction, but she's more interested in the tags on everything. I think it will become useful again in a month or two when she can sit up and rock it and then further down the road when we can unlock it and she can crawl after it. I don't know that it's all that educational, though. And, as in all battery operated toys, the songs will drive you batty. I liked it so much, though, that I bought one for my cousin and her new baby.

Great toy. Works on carpet and moves on touch. Music is fun and toy is entertaining. Not sure about the mirror and why it is there but love the toy and so does my granddaughter.

Want Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! 1-2-3 Crawl Along Snail Discount?

I bought this for my daughter when she was 2 1/2 months old, she played with it until she was about 9 1/2 months old. She really loved this toy and it really helped her learn to crawl. I purchased this from Target for $14.99 and in my mind it was worth every penny.

This is a video of her playing with it.

When I first purchased this toy my daughter was not liking tummy time very much at all. She HATED to be on her stomach and would get so mad and cry. We tried everything to help her enjoy tummy time but nothing worked. Finally I tried this, even though it was beyond her age level, thinking that if nothing else she could look at herself in the mirror and at the flashing lights. It worked! Instead of spending only a minute or so on her belly she was spending a full 10 minutes at a time, then 30, then soon after that we couldn't get her to lay on her back! She was crawling all over the house!

She didn't really 'chase' the snail like it says they can do very often. Sometimes I would roll it and she would go after it though. She would just lay on her belly and laugh at the mirror. When she was sitting up on her own she would lay the snail on its back and spin it around the mirror. Or push it back and forth. Or teeth on the antennae. Or just hit it like a drum. She didn't really play with the ladybug either. But she loved the music and the talking and the lights. For a baby toy she played with it for a really long time considering some of her other ones have only held her interest for 2 weeks.

It is very durable, the mirror never scratched and she used to hit it with a wooden spoon. It was easy to clean with an antibacterial wipe, and we never had to buy batteries for it. The batteries that came in it from the store are the same ones in there today. Right now I have it packed up in a box to give to a friend of mine since my daughter has outgrown it. Fisher-Price has been around for ages so its a brand I trust. My daughter has a lot of other Fisher-Price toys that we have been happy with.

I can understand why some reviewers have said this toy is not so safe. It is heavy, which is probably my only con. You definitely should not leave a small baby alone with it if you think they might try to pick it up and might drop it on their feet or knock it over on themselves. (My daughter went through a phase when she had first learned to stand where she would pick up the snail while standing and drop it just to hear it thunk on the floor. It barely missed her toes a few times so I took it away from her until she got over it) I don't think its heavy enough to cause real damage, just maybe a little boo boo, but still. At the same time, when babies are in the age range for this toy, they should never be left alone with anything ever, especially if they are playing in the floor. The best thing to do is play with your baby while they are playing with this toy (or any other toy), and that way they can't get hurt. If you are looking for a toy that you can leave your baby with so you can go wash dishes or talk on the phone or check your email or whatever, then this is definitely the wrong one. Go get an Exersaucer or a nanny. If you are willing to sit and play with your baby while they learn and explore, then this is probably a winner.

Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow Push 'N See Kaleidoscope

Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow Push 'N See Kaleidoscope, GiraffeMy husband bought this for my 5.5 month-old son. Although my son hasn't completely figured it out yet, his face just lit up the first time he pushed the handle down. And he played with this for more than an hour at his first try. That alone was worth the money since he usually only plays with a toy for a few seconds. I highly recommend this (although the laugh is a little bit evil).

Pros: Easy to use at around 6 months

Six other babies have played with this toy and they all loved it too

The ears are just the right size for teething babies

Cons: A little large

The laugh is evil and annoying

Update: This, like all battery-operated children's toys, needs an off switch. Not only does my baby love this, but so does my dog. Now we hear an evil laugh coming from the next room, both day and night, because the dog has figured out how to push the handle down with his nose.

Chicco Hello Baby Animals Phone

Chicco Hello Baby Animals PhoneMy one-year old son received this as a gift for his birthday and has enjoyed the response of the buttons and playing with the phone. The tunes are catchy, so parents beware...you may find yourself singing (or humming) along as your child dances to the theme music. The flags are a cute touch to indicate which of the two languages are selected. My son goes back and forth between them so he can listen to the theme music before engaging the three-animal phone book that includes animal sounds and the name of the animal. As an educational toy, it is another way for him to learn English and Spanish apart from books and family conversation, so I find it to be helpful. The only complaint I have is minor and relates to how difficult it is to remove the phone from the cradle on this toy. While everything else on it is perfect for child, for some reason the removable phone requires a little extra effort to extract it from the base. Not a problem, since there is usually an adult nearby to help, but it can be frustrating to a 12-18 month child.

On the educational side, there was an inconsistency with the toy where it uses the word puppy during idle time to encourage continued play. All other times, it uses the word dog. This inconsistency only occurs in English, and is the only reason I don't give a perfect 5 star, more like a 4.5. Also, the picture is not reflective of the print for English and Spanish, which is Perro/Dog instead of the Italian, Cane/Dog.

Great toy, great gift. Perfect for 12 months+ and interested in English/Spanish bilingualism.

Very easy to handle for a small child. The volume is perfect. Lots of lights and sounds. I actually enjoyed pushing a few buttons and I'm an adult! A reasonable price for a great toy.

Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Deep Blue Sea Crawl Along Drum RollThis is cute and relatively fun as just a drum toy for babies to bang on and hear noise. As a crawling toy, it isn't much fun though. Fisher Price Lil' Adventure Project-A-Bug Lantern - Net sold seperately -

Fisher Price Lil' Adventure Project-A-Bug Lantern - Net sold seperately -I purchased these for my store and when my twins (boy/girl 3y) saw it they had to have it. They especially enjoyed putting the bugs inside the lantern. It doesn't come with the net, you purchase it separately. It makes real insect sounds. I have to remember its just their toy because I start checking my windows to make sure no bugs got in. Fantastic toy.

This would be a good toy...if there was a way to turn the bug noises on and off. When the lantern is on, the bug noises are on. Which is fine from time to time, but not all the time. Even my 2 year old asked me if there was a way to turn the crickets off; my husband wanted to throw this out the window after 15 minutes of consecutive very fake sounding loud cricket noises. The lantern itself is nice and the included bugs do project a slight shadow on the back of the lantern and to some extent, the walls (if the room is pitch black). There isn't much educational or imaginative value to this toy and it does get old fast. There really should be two switches and the noise switch should include 2 levels of volume (low and very low would be best). The lantern automatically switches off after a few minutes of use great for conserving battery, but don't try to use this as a nightlight since your child will call you back into the room after every few minutes, begging you to turn it back on (15-20 minute timer would have been better). Can't recommend, unfortunately.

Tomy International John Deere Green Shape Sorter

Tomy International John Deere Green Shape SorterI bought this for my son for his first birthday. I love that it has 9 diff shapes and that its john deere. My son absolutely LOVES it. He carries it around, dumps all the shapes out and then puts them back in the sorter. He hasnt learned how to put the shapes in the right place yet, but he know thats what you are supposed to do so he will bring it to me and I will put it half way in and let him push it the rest of the way and he thinks thats awesome. I highly recommend this sorter!!

This is an adorable shape sorter but as soon as I unwrapped it from shipping the plastic handle that looked intact snapped in two places. This was really disappointing but did not make it useless. I created a new handle with some green and yellow grosgrain ribbon I had and it worked well. Otherwise a great toy.

She likes the handle so she can carry it around like a bucket as well.

Storytime Pals Animal: Spot

Storytime Pals Animal: SpotSpot blanket is 45" x 34" as what I measure. It is very nice soft touch furry outside and a soft blue blanket with lots of little Spot holding different color balloon. I have Spot and Lady Bug. Spot's blanket is softer and slightly thicker than lady bug's. will try to upload Spot's pix but not sure how to do it. I got my Spot from a local shop in Singapore as the Spot sold in amazon can't be shipped over so I'm not sure will it be the same Spot. But mine is sure to be a real Spot and not some imitation as the shop I got it from will not and does not sell imitation.

Anyway both Spot from Singapore and Lady Bug from US are very nice. My son won't let go of Spot in the shop so Spot went home with us. Will update after washing Spot if anything went wrong.

Update: just posted Spot's pix. Not sure same version as they selling in US or not but mine is a 2011 model.

Rolling Giggle Bird

Rolling Giggle BirdThis toy is great. Since discovering it more than 5 years ago, I have bought one as a gift every time someone I know has a baby. They always love it. Good for babies & I couldn't stop playing with it, myself! It is so much fun & a great gift.

This bird makes a fantastic baby toy. Kids get the auditory stimulation from the chirpy sound it makes and the crinkly wings. The wings give babies something to suck on and hold onto as well. It's soft so you don't have to worry that they'll hurt themselves. Great baby shower present too!

I bought this toy as a gift for a child who was recently diagnosed with Autism. What a great toy for visual stimulation and his textile skills!

Woodstock Percussion Musical Instrument (Pack of 12 Mini Jambourines)

Woodstock Percussion Musical InstrumentI ordered these back in May, 2009, and received 24 as stated. We use them in our toddler room at church and the kids love to march around with them during songs. I did cut off the strings that are looped through the handles, however, because several of the kids wanted to swing them around.

I teach early childhood music classes, and this little tambourine is wonderful because it sounds decent and the jingles are enclosed so babies can't chance cutting their gums or tongues on the edges. Bright red color, easy to grip, (cut off the strings), and shake away!

Beware!! The product is described as a "set of 24", but I only received ONE mini jambourine. When I called customer service to find out if there had been a mistake, they said that there had indeed been a mistake, and that I should return the item and wait for the proper replacement shipment. The replacement shipment arrived, and it was again only ONE mini jambourine, not a set of 24 (not even a set of 12, as stated further down in the amazon.com description). $25 for one small piece of plastic is outrageous.

11138 Pat the Ladybug 12" Make Your Own *NO SEW* Stuffed Animal Kit

11138 Pat the Ladybug 12' Make Your Own *NO SEW* Stuffed Animal KitCute easy to toy to put together with a child. The birth certificate is a cute idea, that is what made me buy it to begin with.

I purchased a bunch of these no sew stuffed animal kits for my son's second birthday. The lady bug was among the bunch that i ordered. It is very cute and a little larger than the other animals. The only down side is that it does not come with a shirt to decorate like most of the other animals do. It doesn't say that it includes one, so there is no false advertising or anything, just an FYI. I was just assuming it would still come with a decoratable shirt like the others. Other than that the kids really enjoyed all of the stuffed animal kits I purchased for the party. It was a lot of fun for everyone.

Infantino Jittery Pals - Lion

Infantino Jittery Pals - LionWe received this lion toy as a shower gift when our first daughter was born 4 years ago (same exact colors as this one) and it's now entertaining daughter #3. All three girls seemed to follow the same timeline with the lion-from 1-3 months just pulling on him would immediately stop their fussing/crying (probably because they were so startled by it!), they would "discover" the lion hanging on their carseat handle around 4 months, started pulling on his legs by themselves around 5 months, and around 6 months were unable to fall asleep in the carseat without a few good yanks first. :-) None of our girls have been good car sleepers, so this poor lion has been through the wringer over the last four years...but still looks as good as new---not a single loose stitch anywhere! I think that's impressive!

It's good for the babies, AND the parents, too--my husband and I always crack up when, in the midst of their angry screaming about being exhausted but still stuck in the car, we'll hear the lion yanked up and down repeatedly and rapidly numerous times...usually followed by silence. Helps relieve some of that "travel tension"!

Our Mr. Lion is the older versiondifferent colors but otherwise the same. Our son loves to play with him while in the car seat and the legs are long enough that when our son pulls on Mr. Lion and holds him down, he can chew on the feet. We even take him into the restaurant with us and the little guy loves to play with him at the table. Our son got interested in Mr. Lion at about 4 months, and at 10 months he still plays with him (and talks to him and laughs at him). Wonderful toy, well made, we highly recommend!

Plan Toy Teddy

Plan Toy TeddyI bought this as a gift, and accidently ordered two. Fine, I thought, I'll just give the extra to my kids. This bear is indeed sweet. He's well-crafted, and a little bigger than I expected (listed dimensions just don't give the full picture, you know?), which is always a plus. His weight is pleasant, as is his smooth unfinished surface. He seems like he could take some rough play and come through unscathed. I love him.

My kids? Not so much. My youngest (18 months) likes to take him out of the box, and then put him back in about five times over. My oldest likes to throw him once or twice in a blue moon.

I was excited because he's safe to chew on, but no one seems to be biting (pardon the pun). The kids just don't like him. Maybe other kids are different. We've had other simple toys that have really been a hit. Poor teddy.... Well I love him even if the target age group doesn't.

This is the cutest Teddy I've ever owned! It may be a great toy but I purchased it as a collecible to stand on the shelf with pictures of my grandkids. They beg to play with it all the time but it's for "Looks only" in my house. I love it! It seems durable so kids probably wouldn't hurt it. I would highly recommend.

The expression on this little guy's face doesn't show up well in the photo. In person, it looks very wise. I can see a great deal of comfort from this little guy for those he's with. Very well made, too. I just got mine yesterday, and I like him a lot.

Update: Okay, now it's April of 2011, and the great wooden teddy bear still sits on my desk, right where he belongs! I really wanted him to smile. So I thought it over, drew it out the way I wanted it on his face, and then extended his lips into a smile with a permanent marker.

Now he sits on top of my computer tower, at about my eye level. Whenever I look at him, he makes me smile. I love him!

This teddy bear is adorable. I love his face and the fact that he is made of wood. My son loves to chew on him in his car seat or stroller.

this bear was an instant hit with my one-year-old. and he's far more durable than i expected. his arms and legs move, but never stick. he can sit or stand or whatever is required by your child's imagination. he's small, so easy to toss into the diaper bag. and he's even cuter than the picture. definitely would recommend. more than worth the price.

Little Lady Bug Infant Toddler Halloween Costume

Charades Romper Costume - Little Lady Bug-2T-4TI bought this for my two year old daughter and it looks adorable on her. It's made of a felt like material which makes it very warm when paired with tights and a turtle neck shirt. Comfortable and sweet costume!!

Cute costume but the sizing is off. We bought this for my small 4yo for Hallowween. The body of the costume was fine since it is a round bug but the leg opening was snug. We didn't snap the legs for trick or treating because it would have restricted her movement. My daughter is only 34 lbs. This should say 2-3T. Otherwise, no complaints.

I bought the custome based on the picture showed. But, when I received it I felt completely dissapointed since it was incomplete according to what I saw in the picture. Reading the features I realised I made a mistake ordering this "incomplete custome". I didn't receive the tights nor the tees.

HABA Bear Ahoy

HABA Bear AhoyBought this for my 1year old boy. The bear is the perfect size for his little hands, he loves to chew on the flagpole, and the little cart he loves to take apart(the wheels and axle are attached so the front axle is velcroed on as is the back)No choking hazard! So for the actual intended use of pulling it around we haven't seen that happen, but it does entertain in several other ways. Plus it is super cute and of very high quality. I Love Haba toys for that reason. Plus, there are NO batteries and annoying sounds.

I guess I need to stick to Plan toys....:(

It's cute & my son plays with it once in a while, but I get nervous because he's still putting things in his mouth, and as the title says....it's made in China..
