Kids Preferred Label Loveys Plush Toy

Kids Preferred Label Loveys Plush Toy, Cute as a Button LionI got this as a gift for a 9 month old baby. It is adorable, colorful, fun, unique. Different form the usual stuffed toys.

We actually already own 1 of these, but my daughter loves it so much, we needed a back up. Little taggies all over the puppy was a great idea

I got this puppy as a gift from a friend for my baby shower. My daughter has been infatuated with this adorable puppy since she could get her tiny little fist around it! It is very soft and has many different textures and colors for babies to enjoy. She loves the silky tags and the fuzzy ears. She is 14 months old now, and I bought this puppy from Amazon as a backup to the original because she takes it everywhere! Puppy has been through the washer and dryer several times and is somewhat lumpy now but she loves it nonetheless. Definitely makes a terrific baby shower or welcome gift!!

This was an item that was on a wish list for a baby shower. I love using the wish list feature on Amazon.com. It's a great way to fulfill the wants for people celebrating milestones in their lives and you know you are buying something that the "wisher" really wants. The new Mommy was very pleased when she opened up her gift.

I received this as a gift for my 4 month old daughter, and it quickly became her favorite. It's light enough that she can pick the whole toy up herself, and she loves to chew on the dog's ears. The tags are nice for developing her fine motor skills. I liked it so much that I ordered a back-up!

Galt Pop Up Toy

Galt Pop Up ToyIt is unfortunate that I am forced to give this toy a one-star review after all, it provided great entertainment for my baby until I realized that the paint on the little pop up sticks was chipping off into his mouth. This happened the first time my son played with this toy, and within 2-3 minutes there were paint chips on his face and in his mouth. I will not be letting him play with this again. Let's face it, this is a toy for babies (12 months and up), and babies put everything in their mouths. With all of the worry regarding lead-infused children's toys, you would think that Galt would construct a better product. I have attempted to contact the manufacturer, but haven't been successful. I felt compelled to review this toy to warn other parents considering purchasing it for their babies.

This is the gift we give to 1 year olds. It has fabulous staying power. One year olds are fascinated by getting the pegs in the holes. As kids get older, they learn the difference between pegs being upside down and right-side up, the faces on the pegs facing all the same way, and then they start to match them up by color. Of course, the "boing" factor is fun for everyone (including grandparents). I have 4-year-olds at my house who like to play with this toy.

I bought this to give to a 1-year old. Unfortunately the paint was already chipping on the green-colored pop-up when I received it. It is too bad because I am very partial to wood toys and this one gets such high marks in its use for teaching hand/eye coordination....

I purchased this for my son who is currently 11 months old... Right now he doesn't really know what to make of it and just blinks rapidly when the little figures pop out of the base... I can totally see him growing into this though since I find it amusing myself. It is such a nice, simple little toy. I hate all of the plastic junk that is out there and appreciate that it is made out of wood. No chipping paint yet as others have experienced. It is priced well to give it a try to see if you and your children like it for yourselves...

Its been a few years since I've bought this but was so glad to find it once again to give my first grandchild. Our kids have loved playing with these and we've given them as gifts to many other babies for many years. Its small and travels easily, there is a progression as to how kids can learn from it, and its amazing how long they will play with such a simple thing (thanks to the springs!).

Elmer the Patchwork Elephant: Rose Bean Bag by Kids Preferred

Elmer the Patchwork Elephant: Rose Bean Bag by Kids PreferredMy daughter likes very much Elmer, and this toy is OK, but there are 2 things that bother me..

1.The toy has a purple ribbon that's not there in the book and

2.Despite of knowing the size, there's no way getting an Elmer toy and a Rose toy in the right scale both of them (like in the book).

Other than that, It's really educational for kids!

As product is described. Cute stuffed animal, great size and perfect for a little girl named Rose! My niece loved it.

Aurora Plush Baby inches Blue Boy Lamb

Aurora Plush Baby inches Blue Boy LambI have two nephews. One is 5yo, the other is 8mo. While the 5yo got lots of Easter candy, I hate to leave the babies out. So what do you get a baby for Easter? Their very own little "Lamb of God". In blue and cream this is softly masculine, perfect for a little boy. The bow is a ribbon (blue stripped) that goes all the way around the lamb and is securely attached (well sewed on). The ears underside is also blue stripped. The style as a whole strikes me as somewhat victorian and very lovely!

This toy was tugged one, pulled at, and chewed for the last two weeks and no fur has come out, nor threads have loosened. It seems very durable to me!

Everyone always comments to me about how cute and soft "Baby Blue" is. That is his name, since I have another lamb, similar to it, called Blueberry, or "Blue". :) Very nice. Good for small children, because it is so soft.

Child to Cherish Bank

Child to Cherish 'Billy the Baseball' BankI was hoping the turtle itself was a little larger, but it is really cute. The bug container is also cute.

Power Touch Baby Reading System

Power Touch Baby Reading SystemAfter doing some research, I bought this toy for my daughter who is 15 months old. I chose it over the Leap Pad product because it is said to not be as easy to turn off, and the pages are sturdier. It also seems like there are more things to touch and hear about. My daughter loves looking at picture books, and is constantly pointing to pictures and touching the pages. I thought this would be great for her, as it would provide some sort of verbal output to her curiousity and interest. I was disappointed, however, that the book doesn't attach to the unit very well, making it easy for the child to take out. My daughter just wanted to hold the book on her lap and look at it. Maybe its just not the toy for her. As with other reviewers, my daughter touches the pages in an attempt to turn them, and the voice just repeats the same syllable over and over. I realize with this age group it is difficult to always design toys in the way they will be used. I was surprised that Fisher Price put a "notice" on the inside of the package (not visible on the outside) stating the unit works best when laying on a flat surface (not on a child's lap?)and when touched with only one finger at a time (a six month old may not even be physically able to point with one finger). This would be helpful to know BEFORE buying. We are hoping my daughter will get the hang of it and not become so frustrated soon. I'll give it a week or so, but I'm leaning towards returning it.

I liked the "idea" of this product. The only problem I have with it is that it is too sensitive. My son is 1 year old and when he touches it, it repeats and repeats. The recommendations are to touch with one finger which is almost impossible because he likes to touch the textures (like he is petting). Otherwise, it is a good toy.

Buy Power Touch Baby Reading System Now

This is a re-do of my first review (I reviewed it the first day I got it before playing with it much.)and I couldn't figure out how to change teh stars. This product really only deserves 1 or 2 stars.

Hi, I reviewed this the day I first bought it, but thought I should post again because I returned it. My son could not get through one page. He loves to touch the pictures in the book, especially with the tactile pages. Whenever he would touch the page, the words to the story stop and respond to what was touched. And if he kept touching it or touched different things..it would just say the first syllable of whatever he touched. So, he wasn't hearing the story, or learning about what he was touching. It was more like a broken record of syllables. It was a good idea...but not a practical buy. We bought the leapfrog little touch system and have been happy with it. It isn't the greatest either, but he can atleast hear the story and it is not too sensitive. Leapfrogs pages are a laminated fabric, even though they feel like paper. They haven't torn yet. Good luck in whatever you decide to do. Spending money on regular ol' books may be your best bet!

Read Best Reviews of Power Touch Baby Reading System Here

I like this PT BABY for my 2 year old better than the regular PT for ages 3-7, which I bought at first. The regular PT has SO many things to do on each page that it is way too distracting and confussing for the younger age range.

The books are way stronger and more durable, as they have a thicker stronger plastic coating on them, vs the reg. PT books that bend & tear easily. The worst thing about the PTB is that the books fall off the unit very easy, which is very fustrating for mom and child. I wish the PT Baby had the alphabet on the unit itself like the reg PT does for use without the books.

I would have to say that the BEST books so far of the four that are currently retailing are: "I Know My Letters" and "I Know My Numbers". These two books are MUST haves out of the four. They are very colorful, textured, useful and the most educationl of all the four books out right now.

The carring case for the reg PT will NOT fit the PT Baby, however, the (green&blue) Leapfrog carring case/backpack will. Or, just buy a standard size backpack and use that instead...thats what we did!

But most importantly--this is a nice toy for child AND parent(s) to play together!!!! So enjoy!

***P.S. I hope my review has helped you out as much as other peoples TRU reviews help me with my decisions on toys.***

Want Power Touch Baby Reading System Discount?

After reading all the reviews that I could find on the PowerTouch Baby and Leap Frog's comparable unit I decided on the Fisher Price version. Boy am I glad that I did. Bear in mind that I have never used the Baby Leap Frog personally and might find it to be equally grand. My daughter received the PT Baby from "Santa" and she has loved it since she first set her fingers on it. She loves anything that makes music and this toy is great for that. She hasn't shown too much interest in the book that came with it yet but that will come. When the book is attached she likes to turn it to the back page and push buttons to hear the songs that are played as a result. I generally keep the book up on the shelves because she is very happy to play with the unit without it. It's great to take on trips in the car because it keeps her entertained "composing songs' without the worry of the book falling out, etc. It is easy for her to carry and she figured out in no time at all how to turn it on and off and adjust the volume. Several people have complained about how sensitive it is to touch, and yes, it is VERY sensitive. I wouldn't expect a 6-12 month old to be able to operate it in the same way that a 2 year old can. But while it may not seem like fun to you, it probably is for your child if they continue to press on the pages to hear the noises that it makes. People want everything to be so "educational" for babies. At this age it is enough for them to be learning about cause and effect! As an educator I can assure you that a six month old is not going to "learn" his alphabet or numbers by pushing pictures on a page and listening to the explanation that follows. While exposure to letters and numbers is benefitial sometimes the child just needs to be able to explore and have fun with the results! I highly recommend this toy for the ages listed on the box. Babies will enjoy the power that they feel from being able to make something respond to their actions while older toddlers can begin to benefit from more deliberate exploration.

Tumblin' Sounds Goldfish

Tumblin' Sounds GoldfishMy son loves these Fisher Price toys and received the goldfish for his first birthday. He has fun with it, but it's not as entertaining to him as some of the other Peek-a-Blocks toys he has. The fish has some shining scales on one side and some holes on the other side, both of which my son likes to poke. The top of the fish has a flat spot to stack blocks and a green handle. My son doesn't use either of these which surprises me because he really likes carrying the Peek-a-Blocks Tumblin' Giraffe around by its handle.

The goldfish comes with four blocks which my son likes to play with a swiveling octopus, a seastar that slides along a post, a clam that opens and closes and a sand castle with rattling colored balls. The blocks fit into an opening near the top of the fish and they fall on a button which will start a tune playing. Pushing down on the tail of the fish opens the mouth so the blocks fall out while another tune plays. The mouth of the fish does not close all the way; it still has an opening so fingers and hands do not get pinched.

There are two things that my son and I both seem slightly displeased about. If the goldfish is upright, only two or three blocks fit in it. The first two blocks can fall in such a way that they are stacked right up to the opening. If it doesn't happen with two blocks, it always happens with three and the fourth block will only fit if I tip the fish backward and shake it around to reposition the blocks. Also, only the first block my son puts in will play a tune. Subsequent blocks do not fall hard enough to press the button. My son really likes to be rewarded by the music after he gets a block in, so I press the button on the back (which normally gets pressed when the mouth is opened) to play him a tune for getting the second and third blocks in the goldfish.

Overall, my son has fun with this goldfish and plays with it a bit each day.

I've had great luck with all the Fisher Price toys I've bought for my daughter. We picked this one up today, and was looking forwards to having something for her to play with her peek a blocks she received in the past.

Just a few things:

You can only fit 3 blocks in the fish at a time (it came with 4)

When it comes time to "open" the fishes mouth, my daughter can't figure it out and the fish just tips over on it's side. I mean, she is only 11 months old but with a rating of 6 months and up you'd think this wouldnt be difficult.

Good things about the toy--the music it plays is very cute, short and sweet. My daughter caught on right away where to put the blocks, but quickly got upset since you can only fit 3 inside.

OH, it has this little green handle on it too, where you can "stack" other blocks around. How stupid, as soon as you push the tail down to release the blocks, the ones stacked on top just fall off. Oh well, it was only 13 bucks so I'm not too upset about it.

All in all, she was way better toys than this one. I guess it's back to the toy store to pick out a different peek a blocks accessory.

Buy Tumblin' Sounds Goldfish Now

I was out one day shopping for age appropriate toys for my 8 month old and saw this. I bought it since it has the peek a blocks that my son enjoys from his other toys.

The only thing about this toy that my son likes is the blocks. The fish itself doesn't hold his attention. He stops and listens to the music, but other than that he is not interested. It comes with 4 blocks but only 3 really fits inside the fish. The fact that you have to press on the fish to make the mouth open and release the blocks is a little too advanced for an 8 month old, let along for 6 months, which is the age this toy is rated for.

My son is now 10 months and still ignores the fish.

If you want a toy that will hold your child's attention, I would pass by this one and keep looking.

Read Best Reviews of Tumblin' Sounds Goldfish Here

I bought this toy at Toys R Us because it was on clearance for $7 (normally $15). I like the Peek-a-Blocks, and this one being so cheap, seemed like a good deal.

Good points: it comes with four blocks (although by far not the most entertaining of the Peek-a-Blocks sets) and the music is soft and plays a very pleasant tune; it stores nicely, all 4 blocks fit inside and the unit is compact.

Bad points: it is not very entertaining; my 6-month-old barely looks at it compared to her other toys

This is an okay toy for $7. For $15, there are much better toys out there.

My daughter got this for her birthday. She doesn't even play with the fish. She likes the blocks, though, so we've put them in her other block toy and she plays with them.

The blocks are too big for the fish and they don't come out easily. It's just not a fun toy.

Dr Bloom Chewable Jewels Chocolate Marble Circle Combo

Dr Bloom Chewable Jewels Chocolate Marble Circle ComboThis necklace is truly wonderful. My 8 year old daughter chews on her shirt collars and sleeves and has ruined LOTS of nice shirts. We had other spiral chewy necklaces, but she said they were uncomfortable since they pulled her hair. These are great. She really enjoys chewing on them and they look great (better than the photo). The bracelet is too big, so we haven't used it.

After I got her this, I noticed that another girl at her school was wearing one. If I hadn't bought this, I would never have known they were designed for chewing. They look like a really nice necklaces.

I have heard that the cord isn't strong we haven't had it long enough to know. My daughter has misplaced it, so I'm here buying another. In fact, since they worked so well, I'm going to get several.

Tolo Toys First Friends Safari Vehicle

Tolo Toys First Friends Safari VehicleI bought this toy for my 10mth old son and he LOVES it! It's very sturdy and perfectly sized for little hands. It is loud though, which isn't a concern in our case but might bother some people. It lights up and the horn toots, also if you push down on the driver or the button under the driver it will rev up and drive off about 8ft then stop and giggle! Way too cute! It does run on carpet fairly well. The driver is a decent size and his arms, legs, head, and hat all move. My son carries the driver with him just about everywhere.

This little truck seems very well made and the lights, movement, and noise are all a hit with my son. I like that the little person in the truck come sout and is large enough for little hands and too big to be a choking hazzard.

It was a little on the expensive side when I bought it. Otherwise, my only concern is that when the truck is "moving" and gets caught on something or cannot proceed forward that the motor makes a ginding type sound that made my husband comment that it won't last very long. But we will see; we've only had this since Christmas.

It has two modes, one for learning, one for music. At this age the music button is more useful. He doesn't understand how to use the hammer yet. The short string can be tucked inside the battery compartment (good for babies). I wish it taught more than ABCD though. Overall, this is a nice toy and seems like it will hold up for quite some time. The only thing you could lose is the hammer, but it fits nicely in the back of the truck. The toy can tell when the hammer is put away, which is nice.

Frog Wooden Book (Discontinued)

Frog Wooden BookThis is a very high quality wooden play book. It is designed to be simple. Your child can place the little frog's head into a hole on each scene on the wooden pages. The frog is secured by a string, so there's no burden of having to keep track of where the frog's head has gone off to. Great for very young children to develop basic skills.

My son is only 22 mo. old, so I like to sit with him and let him practice putting the frog's head where he would like and then we tell stories of the froggie hopping from page to page, scene to scene. My son is a bit young to keep his attention for long, but it's well worth the time he does spend using his imagination and coordination skills.

It is a wonderful quiet play book as well, so it's perfect for sitting through church services or waiting at the Dr.'s office. It is a perfect size to fit nicely in the diaper bag or even my purse.

Little Tikes DiscoverSounds Smart Phone

Little Tikes DiscoverSounds Smart PhoneThis phone is a great idea. I was expecting more from Little Tikes, because we have plenty of other products from them that are fantastic, but this toy is a miss. The volume is way too low (and there is no way to adjust it). The "screen" is just a piece of paper that you can slide from one image to the next (but not very smoothly). I returned it. Hopefully they will make another version with an adjustable volume and more durable screen.

Even after changing the batteries, the volume is still extremely low. Very disappointed in the product. We will be returning this.

Maple Landmark Wooden Top "Made in the USA"

Maple Landmark Wooden Top 'Made in the USA'I got my top today rather than three tops which I was expecting. I guess I need to order some more for my other kids. The size of this top was much smaller than expected due to the image on this advertisement which is not to scale. This advertisement should have a picture of one top rather than three and it should be scaled appropriately. I ended up with a green one but would like to specify for the other kids preference....why is there no option to choose a color?

The top spins nicely, is well machined but is pretty small and will most likely be lost under the sofa a week after xmas.

This is a nice spinning top. Beware that you cannot choose the color you will get but i don't think that really matters.

The only worry I have is with the tip. Being made out of wood I'm worried that over time the tip won't be as pointy and so it won't spin as nicely. So this product might have a short-ish life span.

Lamaze Symphony Motion Gym, PondI got this for a friend's daughter and she absolutely loves it. My friend loves that the mat is washable and the motion/music will stay on for a decent amount of time. Her little girl started reaching for the shapes almost immediately and loves the sounds they make. The different shapes have various textures on them which she loves to touch and chew on. Here's a video so you can heard the music and see the motion of the gym itself.

I don't think I've ever written a review, but this gym has been such a big help I thought I should. Our 2-month-old baby is completely captivated by this thing. If he's ever fussy and I can't find a position he likes, I put him on the mat and about 75% of the time he's happily gurgling and cooing and batting at the toys instantly. It's like I threw the happy-baby switch. He can reach the toys, so he gets some feedback about where his hands and feet are, and there is crinkly stuff in the padded "floor" of the gym that he kicks enthusiastically. It has made it possible to take a shower or do quick chores, and I feel like he's getting a lot more out of it than he would lying in his crib. The motion of the arch rotates everything enticingly and helps hold his interest. I do wish there was a setting with motion but no sound, but as baby toy sounds go, it's not so bad, and honestly, he loves it so much I could handle much worse in the music department. It's semi-portable--easy to take off the curved arms, and the bottom is foldable cloth, but the arms do not collapse, and they're long, so if you're traveling you need to have a big suitcase. I thought this was ridiculously expensive as baby toys go--especially since in my experience babies often like the packaging the toy comes in more than the toy itself--but this has been worth it. I might even buy one for a friend.

My 2 month old daughter is fascinated by this play gym. The motion is ingenious she will watch each object sway above her and smile with delight. The two types of music are cute. I wish they were a little less repetitive and that there was a volume control, but those small things certainly don't take away from the other great features of this play gym. The design is so much better than everything else I have seen the space theme is really cute and not obnoxious like so many baby products can be. Another great feature is that my two year old has dragged this all over the house, jumped on it, and climbed all over it, and it's completely indestructible. We also have a Fisher Price play gym and both my daughter and I prefer this one. I highly recommend it.

I have a baby girl (now 6 mos) and also babysit another baby girl (now 3 mos) at the same time, and this has been a lifesaver. When I'm tending to one, I put the other under here and they're both just enthralled until my hands are free to tend to the other again :)

I had no problems with setting this up, and found that if you twist the bars so they're parallel, it *sort of* folds up for storage (we slide it behind the couch), though it'll pop open again if there aren't walls or something to provide resistance.

The bright, expressive faces on the toys seem to really encourage babies to talk, which is a lot of fun listening to!

That said, as much as we loved this toy, there were a few things that made me give it a lower rating.

1. For what it cost, I expected it to be a bit better constructed. After washing the blanket a couple of times, the crinkly portions shifted inside. They are not sewn in, as I had thought.

2. The motor seems to be wearing down; my kid can pull pretty hard on the toys now, which causes the motor to stall. It now makes a funny clicking sound, even if you detach it and turn it on without being attached to any bars.

3. Toys could, in theory, present a CHOKING HAZARD. Just this morning, my daughter yanked the rocket toy so hard that it pulled off of the ribbon it's hanging from, leaving a loose ribbon for her to play with. She's at the age where everything goes in her mouth, so I'm lucky I noticed right away. It's nothing I can't repair with a bit of sewing, but again, I had also expected it to be a bit more durable.

4. Another slight choking hazard is the design of the monkey astronaut toy. Be sure to hang this one from the higher bar, as when it was lower down, my daughter managed to shove the legs so far into her mouth she was gagging until I came to save her and remove it.

5. In line with the durability thing, several of the toys now have a bit of stuffing coming out through the fabric.

Keep in mind that, while we did use this toy very frequently, the babies haven't been particularly hard on it (just batting things around and trying to get them into their mouths). This is one of the most expensive gyms sold on Amazon, and while we totally love the toys and the design, it has a few kinks that could stand to be worked out in a later model.

Bottom line: a great toy, and we've gotten a lot of use out of it. Love that it's bright without being cliche (no obvious gender stuff going on here really). LOVE the motion and music. Motor eventually wears down, but I'm willing to bet Lamaze would have spares to purchase if desired. Toys could be a little better constructed, so make sure you periodically take time to examine them for any failing stitches etc.

At first I didn't like the toy. The directions weren't adequate.

The purple music box is underneath the black/white top arch. The words, "Lamaze", and the music selection buttons shouldn't be covered by the velcro. Top arch (black & white) sits in the cradle of the purple music box. There is a purple loop on the top of each arch to connect the music box. You wrap the attach velcro underneath the arch, bring the velcro to the top, put it into the slot on top of the music box. The velcro needs to be in two slots. You loop it through the slot and connect the stiff half of velcro to the soft half of velcro. Same with the bottom arch(multiple colors). The music box has a rotating disk on the bottom of it which moves the arches. The music box has a chime song and a tropical song. The swaying of the arches and the gentle music make the child sleepy. It looks pretty stable. The mirror is a nice big size. It is pretty cool.
