Haba Pipapo Rattle

Haba Pipapo RattleMy 6 mo. old loves this toy he can flip the circles around and around because they're on an elastic band, and he shakes it around too. i feel better knowing he's not chewing on plastic.

We purchased this toy as part of our 4-month old's "natural" and wooden toy collection to replace his plastic (and made-in-China) toys. We like it because it is made in Germany and is created with all water-based non-toxic stains on natural wood. He loves it for many reasons the sounds that it makes, the fact that he can wrap his tiny fingers around the rings, and it is one of his first choices to teeth on as well (he has 2 teeth and working on more). We will be purchasing additional toys from this company in the future.

My 9 month old son got this toy when he was 6 months. At 6 months he wasn't as interested in it, but as he gets older he enjoys the fact that he can rotate the rings, move the balls & disks, and squash the toy.

It's also great to chew on since he's teething, and I feel great letting him chew on a natural wood toy instead of something plastic. It's easily stuffed into a diaper bag, and keeps him entertained as well if not better than most of his other wood toys.

Gallop - Musical Horse by Cuddle Barn

Gallop - Musical Horse by Cuddle BarnI ordered this horse for my nephew's 3rd birthday. It was a hit with him and his younger brother. Not only does this horse trot with noises but when it's done, the tail shakes as the horse neighs.

Actually got the first at hospital gift shop...needed twoore for nephews. They atlren't getting mine! Lol! Soooo cute! Not annoying like the others you see and it walks!

I thought the horse was soft and could be cuddled. My grandson is 5 months old and I wanted something he could cuddle with. However, he loves watching it gallop and loves the song it plays. He has a cowboy bear that rides the horse which is perfect. As he gets older I'm sure he will play with it more.

Fisher-Price Precious Planet Crib-to-Floor Mirror

Fisher-Price Precious Planet Crib-to-Floor Mirrorit's a cute enough mirror but I noticed with the foot with the squeaker you have to push kinda hard and in just the right way to make it squeak. easy for an adult to do but probably not for a little baby. There are mirrors out there with better activities attached for around the same price. I would recommend looking at other fisher price mirrors as this is not their best one. i also recommend looking into sassy and lamaze mirrors.

I returned the lion mirror and got the sassy me in the mirror instead. it's more colorful and my baby loves pulling on the attachments. The mirror quality is better as wellmore clear.

Good thing it was cheap enough to replace with something better. Does not attach well (the strings are flimsy), and always falls over on the floor, but if I lean it against something, my baby loves to look at it and touch the feet.

I wanted a smaller mirror that I could easily move around -our baby loves the giant one in the bathroom, but I wasn't about to put a large mirror in his bedroom. I've taken it to grandma's and a few other places for weekend trips, very portable, holds together well, no worries about it falling apart, baby seems to like it!

This item has made tummy time much more fun for my son! It can easily be transferred from crib-side to the floor. I love that its not too heavy and though it doesn't light up or make sounds, its still engaging enough to keep my four month old son actively playing. He interacts with himself in the mirror and grabs the rattles attached.

My 4 mos old great nephew LOVES this crib to floor mirror, especially the Lion design. We were looking for something to stimulate his tummy time on the floor. Once he sees it, he is hooked and instantly zooms right in on the lion and tries to reach/grab for it. This is great for his hand/eye coordination and helps to strengthen his neck muscles as he lifts and turns his head.

Manhattan Toy Baby Shimmieshakes Pull-n-Vibrate Plush Critter 5 Pack

Manhattan Toy Baby Shimmieshakes Pull-n-Vibrate Plush Critter 5 PackThis product is just as cute as can be.

Our 24 mos old took to it immediately after

being shown how to pull with the cord.

It has a nice 'wobble' when it moves

We bought a pack of of these toys for our 2 dogs and they love them! If you have a dog that tears through toys then forget it, but if your dog likes to have a "baby" these are great. I recently gave one to a friend that got a new puppy and at first he was scared of it & ran away. But after showing him it was a fun toy, he loved playing tog-o-war pulling tail while I held it. After a couple days, he learned to pull the tail himself while holding it and would stay entertained by it for a good 10-15 minutes~ which is a while for a little puppy! In order for it's novelty not to wear out to fast, we take it away & hide it & bring it out as an occasional special treat.

I ordered these for my 2 yr.old granddaughter. The ladybug did not work and I got 2 frogs and no bee. They only travel about 3 inches when you let go of the pull. My granddaughter likes them because they're easy to hold and they're cute, but the quality was disappointing.

Whoozit Atachable Musical Pull Toy

Whoozit Atachable Musical Pull ToyThis has become a favorite for my 3 month old! I have attached it to her car seat and her play mat on the floor. She loves the lights that flash on the star part and the rope knots on the bottom round face-looking thing. On the back of the face-looking thing is a bold black & white bulls eye. There is a clear plastic window in the center so she can watch the toy retract inside. The tune is rock-a-bye-baby, and it plays for about a minute and a half (a friend pointed out that it seems like a long time!) All in all, a great toy for teething/chewing on, playing with, looking at and listening to!

I bought this for my son's exercise mat. He likes it, but I wish it weren't so long. It's close to touching the floor. Not really sure what you could hang this from that it wouldn't be too long for. But my son likes it, and the music is good.

Buy Whoozit Atachable Musical Pull Toy Now

I got this to hang on my infant car seat. Little one LOVED the twinkling lights and it would distract him when he was cranky in the car. He then grew out of the infant seat and I was ready to donate it. Then I decided to tie it to the crib. He is 11 months and every morning he is pulling it down to listen to the music and watch the light twinkle. He gets so excited and it keeps him entertained for a bit so mommy and daddy can catch an extra 15 mins before getting up for the day.

This toy is way too hard for even the strongest and most curious infant to pull. It also did not retract properly, making it less exciting for baby to watch. I would not recommend this toy for any age baby.

Tolo Toys Rolling Ball Shape Sorter

Tolo Toys Rolling Ball Shape SorterMy daughter played wih this at a Gymboree type of play group. When she was 9 months old, she was interested but didn't have the coordination to put all the pieces in the ball. Still, the size of each piece was perfect for her little hands. She absolutely loved holding the pieces and trying to get them inside. I think that's why she continued to practice and play with the toy rather then getting frustrated with it.

By the time she was 13 months or so, she was easily able to fit the pieces in the various holes. What's nice about this toy is each hole is colored to match with the piece that goes in it, so the round hole is blue as is the circle, the square hole is geen as is the square, etc. This obviously also helps with color recognition.

The only thing my daughter found difficult with this toy, in the beginning, is the fact that the sorter itself is round instead of flat. Since it's a ball, it's harder for the baby to find the hole they're looking for. To encourage her, I would simply turn the ball for her so she would see the hole, then leave it up to her to put the shape in. As she gets older, she can then find the hole by herself. It's a wonderful toy that a baby will be able to use for quite awhile as their skill level grows.

We bought this in preference to the Tupperware ball that while definitely a fond memory of mine and my wife's has become incredibly expensive! When the ball arrived it looked great (although the lack of a square is a little puzzling as a fundamental shape) and our little guy loved it. The problem arrived when trying to insert the circle/round piece. One way around it fit just fine; the other, no dice. Taking a closer look we found rough edges on the inside that were snagging against the poorly fitted shape. The seams were raised on one side just enough to prevent it dropping in. This is not the kind of negative reinforcement we wanted in this toy as at 15 months old our son's not getting the "yes that's the right shape, in the right hole but you need to flip it over, jiggle it and then pound it in" message. Such a slacker ;)

Overall, it would have been a great product if the quality control on the line that produced it was up to standard.

My 22-month-old twins love this sorter. I had it out for them as infants and they would enjoy holding the shapes and hearing them rattle. At around 18 months they started to put the shapes in with help. Now they can (and want to) put the shapes in over and over again. I use the toy for matching skills, learning colors and shapes. Really a great buy.

ROLLING BALL SHAPE SORTER

This is a colorful, well made toy that worked well with my 14 month old grandson. He did not have the sophistication to match the shapes to the holes (just yet!) but he definitely liked the size of the ball and its enclosed objects. This is a better made product than similar toys we had for his mother.

Want Tolo Toys Rolling Ball Shape Sorter Discount?

I was very pleased with the quality of this sorter. I did not find any rough edges as another reviewer mentioned. It is very durable, made of a very thick plastic, and very inviting. Not only is it a shape sorter but it is also great for color recognition, making it a bit easier for young toddlers to find where each shape fits. My problem is that it can be a challenge for toddlers to use this independently because of the coordination they need to put the ball back together. You have to match the two halves together and twist it to lock it in place. I got this sorter for my toddler classroom and most of them cannot do this. I was hoping for a sorter that they could use independently and have success without the help of an adult.

BRIO Magnetic Stacking Train

BRIO Magnetic Stacking TrainI thought it would be cool to teach our little boy about how magnets work with this train, however it's not as easy to get the magnets to stick to the base of the train as one would think. There is only one side of each of the pieces that attaches magnetically to the train's base. So that means you have to try up to 6 surfaces to find the "sticky" surface. Seems like a simple thing but it's kind of annoying. Wouldn't have bought this had I known this.

At first one might think that magnets would make wooden blocks easier to use. However, I find the opposite to be true. The age recommendation is 12 months +. My son is 13 months, and is far from figuring out how magnets work.

As an adult, I find myself enjoying fiddling with the train, but mildly irritating that there is no way to predict how the symmetrical blocks will fit together. I actually enjoy the non-magnetic Haba Fantasy blocks I got for my son better.

It seems like a high quality product.

I Might recommend the train for:

1. An older child who may benefit from learning about magnets.

2. A child who already likes regular wooden blocks and might like a variation and challenge.

Buy BRIO Magnetic Stacking Train Now

I purchased the magnetic stacking blocks about 1 1/2 years ago for my child (now 2 1/2). I loved the idea of children having beginning blocks that could actually stick together and not immediately fall down. These are very well made. Because they are magnetic with one side "positive"/ one side "negative", I put a tiny permanent marker dot on the positive side of all the blocks. My daughter immediately picked up on this (at 12 months, they are more observant that we think sometimes) and that did the trick. She knew how to stick them together. They stick together well enough on the floor but if picked up too vigorously, or with too many stuck togetherthey come apartlots of fun for the child as well. Her main issue was that there were not enough to really feel like they can build something as they get older so I bought a second set and this train. It works great for us.

If you have an older child, the discovery of how the magnets repel or attract will be interesting, but if they are younger most likely just frustrating so I suggest the dot idea. It is a safe beginning magnet set because there is no way the child can access the magnetit is inside the shapes.

everything about this toy is good. It incorporates the highest level quality in material, style, design, color choice and best of all, the terrific way it fits together. So many combinations and the play with magnets makes this an outstanding choice. It couldn't be better.

Giant Foam Block Set; 32 Piece Set; no. EDS700140

Giant Foam Block Set; 32 Piece Set; no. EDS700140My one-year-old son had a great time playing with these blocks ... He loved the colors and shapes. He really enjoyed knocking down my block creations. We had such a good time playing with the blocks that I decided to go on-line to buy him some. I was shocked at the price. I cannot believe [what] these blocks cost ... For thirty-two foam blocks?!?!?!?! Forget it. It's too bad that these blocks are cost restrictive; they're great fun, but not worth the price.

I was so excited to get these blocks for my 15 month old son, but I was a little disappointed when I took them out of the box. I expected nice, smooth foam blocks. However, because they were obviously cut from large sheets of foam, the sides of the blocks have an unfinished, not smooth texture (that probably bothers me more than my son). These are very expensive blocks and for the price I had much higher expectations.

Bestever Hugga Pet Pink Bear

Bestever Hugga Pet Pink BearWe have the teddy bear for my 3 year old daughter and the elephant for my 5 month old son. they love them. they can be washed when dirty and are durable and very soft.

Littlelife Runabout Toddler Daypack

Littlelife Runabout Toddler Daypack, RedI'm sure Littlelife had every intention to be kind to toddlers by preventing parents from overloading them. From that standpoint, this pack fits its billing.

The dimensions listed (9 x 7 x 2 inches) are mostly accurate, except that the pack is slightly hump shaped, so the two-inch interior depth tapers down towards the top.

For an 14 to 18 month old who wants to help, this pack would be perfect: padded "just right" on the straps and back, quality materials and durable construction to survive a little rough handling and dragging, plus the leash...

However, for our 34 inch tall, 30 pound, not-quite 2½ year-old, it was obviously too small as soon as we opened the package.

What will the Littlelife hold? We were hoping he could carry his knit nap blanket in it, but it's necessary to literally stuff it in (the blanket is about 2x3 feet). Two or three board books, or a small lunch, or a hat and a pullover all are about the ideal sized load. And actually, that's not bad for day-tripping. But is it smaller than a bread box? Definitely -it's too small to hold an average sized loaf of bread (cut me some slack -trying to think of some common frame of reference).

I'll next try a Wildkin Pack 'n Snack Backpack, which has roughly twice the capacity. Undecided if the Littlelife will stick around (possibly in anticipation of our youngest son using it once he's of the right age and ability), or if it's going back. I definitely like everything about this Littlelife except for the capacity.

This is an adorable little backpack, perfect for my two-year-old. When it arrived I thought it would be way too small. It looked doll-sized, but when I put it on my little man it filled his back. Any bigger and I think it would be cumbersome. I was able to put his lunch and toy tractor in it and I had room to spare. The size specs on Amazon didn't seem to match the Littlelife website so I was worried Amazon was selling an older/smaller version (I don't know if one actually exists), but the bag I received seemed to match the slightly large dimensions from the manufacturers website: 4½x6¾x10¼". It is largest at the bottom and then tapers up, but that size seems to suit the body of a little toddler. Overall, I'm pleased with the size and the quality.

Buy Littlelife Runabout Toddler Daypack Now

I bought this backpack before my son (almost 2 yrs old) and I took our first plane ride. I was worried about how to handle him and my luggage through the airport. This backpack was great! It made him feel like a "big boy" with his backpack on and I was able to keep him close to me in the busy airport. He didn't even notice that I had the strap attached to his backpack. Allowing him to walk through the airport made it so he WANTED to sit once we got on the airplane. My only "complaint" about it is I wish the handle was retractable vs the fixed vinyl strap. The backpack is big enough to hold a diaper or two, some wipes and a few snacks. It fits him just perfectly, not too big or too small, with a firm clip in the front. Very cute design! Highly recommended!

Read Best Reviews of Littlelife Runabout Toddler Daypack Here

My wife and I love this little backpack. Yes it's small, very small. Prior to ordering it, I knew it would be small. When I first saw it, I was still shocked at how small it was. I guess I am just used to adult backpacks, so the size difference was startling. The size, however, is perfect! My daughter is 13 months old, 29" tall and has about 9" from her neck to her diaper, and this backpack fits her back perfectly. She enjoys wearing it, and every time we put it on her, she wants to go outside and walk around. I can't imagine my daughter wearing a larger backpack. This one is simply perfect for her.

Instead of constantly carrying around a diaper bag (that we seem to always over pack), we decided to downsize to this backpack and get by with the bare essentials while we are in places (we keep the diaper bag in the car now). We can get an outfit, wipes, 2 diapers, and a water bottle in there.

I have not had any issues with this backpack. My daughter has shown no complaints with the backpack, other than when she first started wearing it. I could see where the handle on the top of the backpack could be irritating (it rubs against the back of her head), but she has not complained about it. We do not use the leash, so I cannot attest to whether it is good or bad.

Also, I guess the animal or insect that is located on the side of the bag is random. I ordered the red one thinking that it would have bees on it. The one I have has a squirrel, so I guess you should not expect to get the same animal you see on the pictures on Amazon.

Want Littlelife Runabout Toddler Daypack Discount?

We commute to work/daycare by public transit. At one end of our commute is a 0.5 mile walk through parks and busy streets. Our son, who is now 2 years old, has become increasingly independent. He wants so very badly to walk with us rather than riding in the stroller. But expecting a 2 year old to walk that entire distance and constantly hold your hand isn't reasonable. He wants to explore, to touch the world around him, to stoop down to inspect a ladybug. The constant push and pull of trying to keep him safe when we crossed busy streets but letting him walk on his own when we're somewhere safe was taxing on all of us. So we took a chance and ordered him this little backpack.

Wow what a payoff!

He's thrilled to be carrying his own lunch just like mommy & daddy, we feel comfortable letting him walk beside us without having to always hold hands because the tether strap keeps him from going more than a few feet from our sides.

The pack is very well made with the same sort of details that go into an adult sized pack. The materials are of good quality with a well made zipper and beefy nylon fabric that won't wear out any time soon. The chest buckle keeps the straps firmly in place on his little shoulders as well as turning the pack into a harness that he can't get out of on his own. I looked before buying and most of the other toddler with a parent tether strap don't have the buckle to keep your kid from slipping out of the shoulder straps and taking off across a street without you. The inside of the bag is just big enough for our son to carry a 12oz kid sized Nalgene Tritan full of milk, a 12 oz insulated Thermos for his warm lunch, and a small plastic box with some fruit and pretzels in it.

All in all, I expect we're going to be getting a couple years of use out of this great little bag before he outgrows it and passes it on to a younger sibling!

Label Loveys: Little Lovey Doll by Kids PreferredThis was purchased for my daughter when she was born, she has become pretty attached. We bought two more on amazon for backups. She always has to have her Goldie when she sleeps or goes on car rides, it's been a great toy.

I like to find dolls and stuffed animals that become kids' "Special Go Everywhere" friends and hope that this sweet little doll is destined for just such a spot with her new owner (a newborn baby girl). The doll is very well made, is safe for very young ones and has more personality than most dolls that are designed for young children. The dolls features are sewn (no buttons to chew off) and the shoes are fabric. The doll is very soft and small but not too small so that little ones can cuddle with it comfortablly and it fits easily in car seats and diaper bags.

Stacking Cups

Stacking CupsThese stackers are enjoyed by both my 4 yo and 19 month old. We primarily use them in water. A fun use... for example-if you fill the 2 and 3 cups and pour them into the 5 cup, it fills it perfectly-great to teach beginning math concepts. The cups nest very easily for both kids. My 19 month old has a bit of trouble stacking them, my 4yo has no difficulty. Best of allthese are made in the USA of recycled milk jugs.

I bought these for my little one when she was 6 months old. She is now 9 months, and they are still a must have toy on the floor when she is entertaining herself... need I say more?

I like these cups because they are made in the U.S. from recycled materials. We use them as bath toys. I don't think that my baby likes them as much though as other stacking cups that we have including, KID O Stack and Nest Cups which are brighter, and other ones that we have similar to these Especially for Baby Stacking Cups , though the one we have includes 10 cups. Both of these are much easier for my one year old to stack.

I think it's the old tension between the toys that mama wants baby to like (natural colors, materials, eco-friendly) and the ones that babies actually end of liking(bright ugly primarly colors and made in China from questionable materials). Though the Kid O cups do come in nice colors Kid O Stack and Nest Cups (in warm colors)

I can't wait until he can do it himself. I loved the packaging too. They were safe, but they were also so easy to remove. I wish more companies would do this. I wish more toy companies still made stuff in the USA too, so I plan to support Green Toys whenever I can.

Montessori Shapes; 10 Shapes per Set; no. DD-81586

Montessori Shapes; 10 Shapes per Set; no. DD-81586I have been looking for good quality metal insets, but they are very cost prohibitive. I love this option for a fraction of the price of the metal ones. I actually watched the lectures given by Montessorian Margaret Homfray who said she preferred plastic insets to metal, which made me feel confident with this purchase. I received the pink and blue set (didn't have to make a special request) which I wanted and are the traditional inset colors. The only reason I didn't give these 5 stars is because they don't come with a tray which would be ideal for display, and because the knobs to pull the shape out could be better and easier to grasp. Otherwise, well worth the money!

My children attend a Montessori school and this is one of their favorite lessons. Helped my daughter with handwriting and she gave my younger son lessons on how to use correctly. Learning can be fun.
