Mini Organic Lamb

Mini Organic LambOur then-4-mo.old LOVED this when we got it!!! It was just perfect size for him to hold onto, very soft and snuggly, and WE felt good about him sucking on/snuggling it as babies do because of the way it is made! Our little one is now 18-mo. old, and "lamby" is still one of his favorite toys!

This little guy is fantastic! Small, yes, but so is an infant. The arms and legs are unfilled, so they flail around when Woolite (we named him) sways to and fro. The paws are soft and apparently great for chewing, which is why it's worth it for us to spend the money on organic toys. High quality materials and manufacturing.

Strawberry Shortcake Child Costume

Strawberry Shortcake Costume, ToddlerCute costume, but very, very thin and flimsy. The seams were loose straight out of the package. I can't let my daughter play in it before Halloween because I honestly don't think it would survive.

I'm really disappointed in the Rubies quality. I have another costume from several years ago made by Rubies and it is of MUCH better quality.

Although the price is right up there with some Disney products, it simply does not begin to compare in quality. That said, it is a very cute design and I'm sure she will be adorable in it come Halloween...just hope it doesn't fall apart hanging in the closet ;)

The manufacturer size was listed as 6-8, but it fits my three year old with very little room to spare. It is a bit flimsy, and was more expensive than I would have liked for a thin piece of rayon. The arms were very tight, and have had to be tailored to be wearable. But my little girl loves it, so as long as it holds up until Halloween, I'm happy.

Don't expect to use this costume more than once. It is very cheap. The bottom started to run the 1st time my daughter wore it. I don't know why it's doing that. She's not even pulling on it or anything. We had a lot of compliments on it but she will not be wearing it out again since it's falling apart.

I read that the sizes run too small. My daughter is 4 1/2 and I ordered a size Small and it fits just right. She is kind of tall but thin. I don't think this would fit a heavier girl.

Got this for my 3 yo daughter and she was the only Strawberry Shortcake for miles. The tights did not fit well (extremely baggy around ankles and had to roll the waistband 3x for better fit), but otherwise a total hit with non-stop compliments. Instead of buying the pink wig I just bought some pink hair-coloring spray at Wal-Mart for $3, drew some freckles with brown eye-liner and voila! Total cuteness!

This costume is so cute! I was disappointed that the one I received has a spot on the front under the strawberry and also a spot on the tights. I just looks like dirt so hopefully it will come out. The costume fits perfect but I think the tights would fit a child three times the age of mine. Overall this costume is very adorable.

VTech Sit-to-Stand Alphabet Train

VTech Sit-to-Stand Alphabet TrainAs a parent, I would rather get those toys at Christmas time that have use to them and that will be played with, but the most important thing to me is it's ability to help my kids learn and its durability. there are some gifts that are given to my kids that I dread seeing when I notice that they have noise. I think there are more people out there like me. Some toys out there are just too loud for my taste. I am very impressed with VTech's line of learning toys and games! I love that the sounds are fun, catchy and tend to keep my kids more in tune with the toy and with learning. With the Sit-to-Stand Alphabet Train(tm), the music and songs that it sings to your child, I often find myself singing along. Yes. I sing along to it. LOL! It almost has a circus theme to the tunes that it plays. Very fun!

Here is a video that I shot of both of my kids (12 months and 3 years) with the Sit-to-Stand Alphabet Train(tm). As you can see, both age groups love it!

The Sit to Stand Alphabet Train was very easy to put together and holds up very nice. I have a 3 year old and he has been caught playing `run away train' from his sister, so the train itself holds up very nicely. He loves to sit there with his sister and put in alphabet blocks that the train recognizes the colors, letters and images that are on each block. When you put in a red letter "Y" block, it will tell you that it is a letter "Y" and asks you to find the "yo-yo", in which you turn the block around. I think this is a fantastic learning tool for infants, as well as toddlers. Kambry is in her first stages of walking, so this is perfect for letting her get a grip on her balance and learn to move those toes with a push toy.

I look forward to many more fun leaning adventures with my kids, and with VTech Kids' Sit-to-Stand Alphabet Train(tm).

Not sure what toy the other reviewers were playing with, but we returned an activity table and bought this instead for our 8-month-old learning-to-pull-herself-up girl. We like that it will evolve as she grows:

1.She can sit and play with it (she likes to turn the book's pages which tell her the different letters on them) or chew on the 26 blocks that come with

2.She trys to pull up and press the musical buttons or elephant which plays songs.

3.We can tell she will learn to take some steps with it, and later she can ride on it.

The blocks can be used in different ways, as blocks with letters and pictures to indentify, you can place them in the slot on top which counts them and they land into the 2nd car, or you put them in the holes which then say the name of the letter and a word that starts with that letter. Sometimes it asks you to find a specific letter block which she won't learn until later, but it should be fun then.

We were looking for a toy for pulling up and cruising, so cool to have found one that does more. As far as the price goes it cost less than the Chicco Talking Garden Table we bought and returned.

I will say this, though, the songs get stuck in your head and you find yourself humming some silly song as you go about your day but this certainly isn't the first muscial toy to do that.

****NEWEST UPDATE 10/6/2011****This is in reply to the few ladies who feel the need to leave negative comments for my post. The MAIN reason for my post was so that parents could hear what happened to my daughter and either not buy this toy or if they did that they can take precautions and unhook the train from the caboose if they aren't going to be right beside them. My daughter DID get her neck stuck between the 2 parts...the train gets attached by a rubber connector so when my daughter fell the way that she did the train seperated further apart and she fell perfectly so that her neck was against the front of the train and when her weight went down as she fell the gap in the train tightened ON her neck...so reguardless of what any of the negative comments say, she COULD have gotten strangled. Just because a product is still on the market doesn't mean that it is safe and just because a lot of people havn't ran into a problem doesn't mean there won't be one. Look how long it took drop side cribs to get outlawed, most babies didn't have a problem in them but lots of them did. There is nothing wrong with being cautious when it comes to the safety of a baby/child and if my post can help keep even 1 kid from getting injured then that was a success. And also, if someone is being strangled, they can't breathe so they won't be crying or whining for someone to come help them...in reply to the latest comment.

****OLDER UPDATE IS AT THE BOTTOM********

My daughters received this for their 1st Birthday and have liked it since they first layed eyes on it. I'll explain the FUN features after I explain the DANGER.

My daughter Madison, who is the smaller of my twins(3-6 months clothes though she is 1) was playing with the train. There was a block on the other side so she leaned over to get the block but she slipped and her neck went between the front and back of the train(where they connect)!! Thankfully I was sitting right there and immediatly pulled her out but she would NOT have been able to get her self out. This is the same flaw that the Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Chair had, there was a gap that a child could get their neck stuck between the chair & table..if you have the older style with that flaw they will send you a new piece to cover the gap, taking away the entrapment/strangulation hazard.

I did email Vtech about this but have not gotten any response. If you already have this toy I recommend ALWAYS keeping the train seperated from the seat unless an adult is right there with them. If you are thinking about buying this train, I'd skip it and buy something else until the gap is fixed...IF they fix it. Hopefully they will address the problem before a child is injured or killed.

As far as fun, my girls really enjoy this. They love turning the pages of the book, love pulling the blocks out once I put them in and just playing with the blocks by themselves. Their favorite thing is for me to pull/push them around while they sit on the train.

I do think this toy is probably more educational for children over 1 year. At one year they can't put the blocks into the side(at least my girls cant). There are little games that tell you to flip the block over to find what is on the other side or he tells you to find the letter 'P' and put it in the side. So 1 year olds have no idea what he is saying.

If you are looking for a toy for a 1 year old, I would recommend getting something else. My girls do like this but they'll gladly skip this & go for their Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Home or Leapfrog Learning Table, they spend way more time playing with those. If you are looking for a Sit to Stand toy, I don't think this is sturdy enough, my girls can go from sitting to standing w/out a problem but if they hold onto this it will normally tip right over. They do like the walker part of the train and are almost walking but when the train is used as a walker it is NOT very stable/sturdy and this will tip/fall either left or right & so will my girls...they fall more with it than if they were trying to walk w/out anything.

***************UPDATE**************

My girls are now 14 months old, both of them can walk, one of them slowly/cautiously & the other is a pro. Both of them still enjoy walkers but if they use the train part of this like a walker both of them will fall down since it is so unstable. They can walk across the room just fine without falling on their own but with this they fall. Right now the only things my girls like about this are the blocks-they like all blocks and sometimes they like turning the pages in the book. This is something they just do not play with much at all. I am putting this away(except the blocks) and will get it out again when my girls turn 2 and I'll see if they like it better then. I definately think there are better options for toys if you are buying for a 1 year old, I wouldnt recommend this unless the child is at least 2, maybe more but I still think there are better options than this. If you are set of getting a train type of toy then get the leapfrog alphabet train, that is much better for a 1 year old. The walker part is sturdy, it rolls easier when riding, has more age appropriate toys on it for 1 year olds & it has more toys on it. It also doesn't have a strangulation hazard. Both my girls love it, my 2 year old niece loved it & my 5 year old niece loved it.

The Vtech is hard to roll-if you are wanting an easy to ride/roll toy then I recommend the Fisher Price Ride Ons-my girls have the Fisher Price Lil'Princess Ride On and I also recommend the Little Tikes Ride On. These are ride on toys only-not learning toys. The Leapfrog is easier to roll than the Vtech but still not as easy as the Fisher Price Ride On or Little Tikes. My girls love riding things or being pushed around so it is better to have a basic ride on toy for that.

Read Best Reviews of VTech Sit-to-Stand Alphabet Train Here

This toy is marketed as being a "sit-to-stand" product for kids as young as 12 months. It is supposed to be usable as a walker with just the locomotive portion of the train, with an attachable "car" that functions as a seat to be ridden by an older child.

The locomotive is extremely tall and narrow, making it dangerously unstable for little ones. When my toddler attempts to pull himself up on this train, it has caused injuries. From the side, the narrow wheel base coupled with the height make this too tippy (think tall SUVs). Either it tips over toward him, causing him to fall backward and landing the train on top of him, or it tips to the other side with him falling over it.

If he approaches it from the handle side (and it is supposed to be usable as a walker), pretty much 100% of the time he grabs the handles and begins to apply weight, the front of the train flies up off the ground while the back wheels fly forward, and the train smacks him in the face.

We'd have taken it back if it weren't such an expensive gift from the grandparents. As it is, our son has to be supervised with it at all times to ensure that he doesn't get hurt. Adding the second "car" with the seat helps with stability (though not entirely), but that renders this useless as a walker for young toddlers.

As far as the annoyance factor, there's no volume control and this thing will not shut up. Just this annoying, circus-like music that plays constantly.

My young toddler has zero interest in putting the alphabet tiles onto the sides of the train (incidentally, it tends to tip over when a toddler is trying to push hard enough to get these tiles into place, kids this age aren't very coordinated and can be very forceful). So, really all he does is push the tiles into the top of the train and watch them shoot out the back.

Definitely not a safe or educational toy for kids as young as 12 months. I personally wouldn't think of using this before 2 years.

It is not a stable toy for a baby/toddler learning to stand and walk, it is too narrow and tall as most reviewers said.

Tomy Octopals

Tomy OctopalsMy toddler loves this toy so much. He carries the little creatures around the house, and he loves to play with them in the bath. This toy is so much fun. The creatures stick to the bathroom wall (via suction cups), and they're numbered (to teach numbers). They also squirt, and they're brightly colored (which helps to teach colors). I use the main creature in the middle of the set (acts like a shower head) to rinse my son's hair. I own three sets of these toys... they come everywhere with us! Great, great toy!!!!

This was one of our favorite bath toys. In addition to being bright, funny, and entertaining, it introduces a lot of important concepts like colors, shapes, counting, pattern recognition, and facial expressions. Octopals could be sorted by shapes, groups, organized by their sequential number, etc. It is also great for role playing every octopal could be made into a character. It is amazing that so many different ideas were incorporated in a very simple toy.

We purchased two sets of this product within a few weeks of each other. One set in the UK and one in the US. After a few months, we noticed that there was black mold inside the product. We cut open one of the balls and noticed the mold. This happened with both sets. We have not tried to return the product as it had been used for a few months.

Haba Wonder Dice

Haba Wonder DiceWe purchased the Wonder Dice Block set for our son when he was about 5 months old and was finally showing interest in picking things up and playing with them. After 3 months of fairly heavy use, I can say that this was worth every penny. If the bright colors, mirrors, and multiple different types of fabric were not enough to keep him entertained, the fact that most of these blocks also make sounds (jingling, squeaking, etc) certainly would be. Parents will especially appreciate the fact that these blocks are nice and soft, making them less of a problem to worry about when your budding genius discovers that he/she can throw them (into walls, furniture, windows, etc.). As a tip the little fabric "tassle" on the top of the cone is especially good for tickling noses!

Disclaimer: I love non-toxic toys and I love all things Haba in particular. This toy is very cute, soft, and seems like it would be fun to stack. That said, my almost 7 month old has shown zero interest so far. I think the square blocks are too big for her hands to maneuver yet. The only block she likes is the pointy one that she can put easily in her mouth. So I am hopeful that she will grow into the building features of this toy with time, but it might not be the best for super young babies. I still give it good marks as I think it will be a quality, non-toxic toy for a slightly older child.

Wonderful toy. It is still fun for a 2.5 yr. I love the fact that a baby can throw these without destroying things.

Baby's First Blocks

Baby's First BlocksBaby loves playing with these these (and sucking on them too--he's teething), dad loves playing with these, mom loves the extremely high quality of these blocks, which will obviously last for years, just because they are so well made but because they will be a building block (pun intended) of our toy collection for years to come. The paint is bright and strong, the wood grain and cut edges of the underlying wood is beautiful, and they are clearly excellent blocks.

I'm thinking of buying two more sets, just so we can build bigger towers for the kiddo to knock over.

The picture for this item isn't very good, so FYI, this set has two blocks each of six colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. We expanded the set with the Haba Discovery Blocks--the blocks from both sets are the same size, so it works perfectly.

These blocks are cubes, 4cm on each side. There are twelve in a package: 2 red, 2 orange, 2 yellow, 2 green, 2 blue, and 2 purple. This size block will coordinate with Haba First Blocks, Haba Fantasy Blocks, Building Blocks Sevilla, Haba Building Blocks Cordoba, and the Haba ball track set. They are the good quality you would expect from Haba blocks, though the packaging is not as nice as the packaging for the other block sets I mention above, so they would not be as attractive to give as gifts. I bought these blocks to expand on our other Haba block sets, and that's exactly what they did.

Buy Baby's First Blocks Now

Our daughter loves these blocks! We started her off using them during dinner time when she was 5 months old. We have her sitting with us at the table. In lieu of food, she has these blocks to play with. (Hopefully working on her grasping skills while she's with the family.) They've held up quite well to all the grabbing, chewing, and throwing off of the table that they've had to go through. We've just started her on solids, so they are now getting washed with every meal and are holding up very well. Like all of the Haba toys we've purchased, these are quality products and I can see they will last for years to come.

Another nice side perk to these blocks is that they match other lines of Haba blocks, so they blend right in with the other sets.

Read Best Reviews of Baby's First Blocks Here

We purchased these based on the great reviews, and when they arrived they seemed to be everything people said they were. Loved the colors and the quality looked great. Our daughter also seemed to like them. However, two days after receiving them I went to clean our toys, and noticed that one of the blocks had developed a surface splinter! I'll try and attach a picture as it's hard to describe otherwise.

She only played with them a couple of times, and both times were under supervision, so it's not like she was throwing them around or chewing on them that caused the piece to do this. We have since returned the blocks, and are debating whether or not to get another set. Probably not as there are so many other toys out there, but it's unfortunate.

Anyways -parents please be careful and check all of the pieces periodically! I shudder to think what would have happened had we not noticed this. (Our daughter is still at that age when she will put things in her mouth)

These blocks fit their title and are appropriate for first blocks. They are small enough for my 9 month old to grip easily, and he is attracted to the colors. The colors also seem pretty chip resistant. These blocks get thrown around quite a bit and none of the color has come off.

Fisher-Price: Boppin' Beats Build-a-Band Musical Stacking Toy

Fisher-Price: Boppin' Beats Build-a-Band Musical Stacking ToyI bought this when my daughter was 7 months old, and she was immediately fascinated. At 9 1/2 months, she still loves it! My only concern is that it is a fairly heavy toy overall and the tambourine is quite heavy and hard. She has never hit herself or anyone else with the toy or its detachable instruments, but I do watch her closely because of this concern. Overall, I think this is a great toy; fun and musical but not too loud or annoying.

Disappointed with this one. It's a hybrid of sorts: it tries to be a song maker, a piano, and a stacker all in one. Unfortunately for small children, it's too bulky to really stack, and the drum and tambourine are too difficult to remove. The piano plays pre-set songs, or tracks of songs, rather than notes, so children have to listen thru before they engage again. Would have preferred individual sounds as (at least) an option. Because of the way the sound settings work, and the ease in which the cymbal can activate, ours essentially plays one song over and over again. We were definitely hoping for more, although it's not without its charms at times.

My daughter got this for her 1st birthday, and now seven months later, it's still one of her favorite toys! She loves all the action, the play cymbal, the little drum pad, the tambourine...my only negative comments is that it's a little bulky for storage, takes up lots of room in the toy box. I have to say I like the nice mix of music, slightly different from the usually childrens toy music, not nearly as annoying!

Fisher Price My First Dollhouse: Caucasian Family

Fisher Price My First Dollhouse: Caucasian FamilyNormally, these would go with the My First Dollhouse. However, we have a little boy (and limited space). He is interested in family but does not want/need a dollhouse. We got him the African American family and a few rooms of furniture a while back, and he loves playing with them on the floor. (The family often gets to ride in his remote control Jeep!) The new ones are neighbors for the original family. They are well made and resistant to a lot of abuse from little hands and mouths. They sit a little funny because of the straight legs, but the furniture is made to accommodate them well. Throw the family and a few pieces of furniture in a bag for an easy travel toy.

So I saw this doll set on Google Shopping listed for $14.95. When I clicked the link I found that the item was actually listed for $39.00. Seriously? Over twice as much? And as you can see from the review dated Nov 10, 2011, just 4 months ago this set was $13 cheaper. And even that was a huge bump in price from what was probably the $14.95 price that Google Shopping first registered.

Fact is, for $39.00 you can get the entire My First Dollhouse, with these 3 dolls and some furniture included at Walmart, Kmart, Target, etc. Stay away from this ripoff.

These people are well made with jointed arms and legs. My two-year old granddaughter loved moving them into sitting, standing, and prone positions. They became part of her playworld.

These are very sturdy, well made and easy for my 2 year old daughter to handle. They are chunky enough for her little hands, and easy for her to articulate the arms, as well as to get them in and out of the sitting position, all by herself.

I was glad there were replacement dolls for this because my puppies chewed up the dolls not long after my grandaughter got her doll house and she was upset with the puppies but thank you Amazon for coming to the rescue

Disney Store Sofia the First Costume Dress: Size XXS 2/3

Disney Store Sofia the First Costume Dress: Size XXS 2/3The dress is adorable and my daughter loves it. Only down side is, it drops glitter EVERYWHERE. i have to vacumn after she wears it.

We received the dress in a box and in a Disney bag. The tags were still on the dress, so it was known that the dress was not already worn by someone else. The dress came in about a week; and my daughter was so happy to wear it. I was very pleased.

Fun Time My 1st Shape Sorter

Fun Time My 1st Shape SorterYes, I got what I paid for, but it wasn't what I hoped for at all. The quality of this item is poor, the ball doesn't stay together and it is and the plastic is thin. I wish I had paid the extra bucks for a better quality toy.

My 21 month old love this toy. He can take it apart and put it back together. He learned where the shapes go in a matter of a few days. We have other shape sorters and this one he plays with for hours.

Rather cheap plastic and the two halfves of the ball doesn't stay together well. It is too hard for a baby to put back together.

I purchased this after reading the only rating on this item at the time which was a 5 star review. The ball will not stay together. Its so weak the baby pulls it right apart. It doesn't stay together long enough for the baby to put the shapes in the slots. This was a waste of money but at least it didn't cost much. Invest in a more expensive sorter that stays in shape.

Hello Kitty Tutu Costume Dress

Hello Kitty Tutu Costume Dress - Toddlerexcluding the kello kit tiara with the ears that it comes with, I don't think this is a costume. It's just a regular dress with lower quality.

Some Macy's store has a section with hello kitty themed clothes where I found the cutest hello kitty dress ever! After I found this dress I started to keep second thoughts on what I paid for this dress.

But you won't find a dress with a huge hello kitty head on the front like this one of course. I would say I found cute clothes, dresses and even tutu hello kitty skirts at Macy's. The quality also is good and it's something you can have your girl wearing on regular days, different from this costume that would be fine to use in a party only once.

Great costume, but the glitter on the skirt gets everywhere! I bought this for our 18-month-old and it was adorable, but everywhere she went she left a trail of glitter.

Beautyfull but very small, the size" toddler" dont fit to my 1 year old child. By the other hand is very original, good quality and I fix it and my child finally wear it, she was very cute whit this costume.

Hello Kitty Toddler costume was made very well. My 4-yr old granddaughter love, love, loved it! Very comfortable to her to wear with a T-shirt underneath. Shipping was quick. She wore it four times during the Halloween season and enjoyed it immensely. I'm so glad I bought it for her!
