This is a great little naptime cozy...my son always puts blankets on his face and the bigger blankets would worry us because we wondered if he could breathe well. After everyone freaks you out about SIDS...I found this little cozy blanket to be PERFECT because its so light, but the beak gives your baby something to chew on, and of course he loves the tags (as all babies seem to). I really reccomend this little duck. Its great.

Maybe it's my fault but when I saw Duck blanket on the description I thought it was a blanket. Maybe I misunderstood...but this thing is the size of a wash cloth. I was so disappointed. So tiny! My son loves ducks so I thought I would get him a duck blanket, I ended up getting a duck wash cloth.

Too bad he opened the package. =(

Step 2 Sizzlin' Shapes Kitchen

I like Step 2 products in general. The big components of their toys are still made in the USA and that is a big plus for me. I bought this for my daughter's 1st birthday. Its cute, but she never really showed much interest in it.

Although, now that she is almost 2, I think she plays with it a little more. She cracks me up with some of the things I find tucked into the microwave or in the refrigerator. She enjoys putting things in the sink and refrigerator and watching them tumble out and the shape sorter is a great. Her favorite thing about it, naturally, is thedifferent noises it makes.

Overall, a nice product from a good company. I would have given it 5 stars if it held my daughter's attention a little bit more, but I think it just depends on your kid.

Gave as gift to granddaughter at 16 months old. This is the first toy she runs to when she visits every time for the past year. She is now almost 2 1/2 and is getting too big for it but still loves it. What she loves the most are the electronic sounds -the sizzle when she sets a pan on the burner and the water sound when she pushes button on sink faucet. I've been looking for a bigger kitchen and am disappointed that I cannot find a larger kitchen with the water sound feature. The only thing disappointing with the kitchen is the refrigerator -the shelves are barely there and round so that nothing can sit on them and therefore is useless. But, this doesn't matter to granddaughter because she is happy using the stovetop, sink, and microwave.

BRIO Shape Sorting Box

I like this brand a lot so I was happy to buy a wood alternative to all the plastic sorting boxes out there. I am happy with the colours and quality, and I suppose the compact size is nice for a baby just starting to sit. Baby likes holding and chewing on the blocks so far...we'll get to the sorting eventually.

This is a very sturdy sorting toy made by wood. Only downside I can see with it is that it makes a lot of noise when you drop the first pieces in since they are solid wood blocks.

We received this a a gift after our baby was born. She is 6 months. She has been playing with it now for about 1 month. She has not yet figured out to sort the shapes out but once in a while she gets lucky with the cylinder. She enjoys the colors and of course licks and chews on them. The still look good as new. She likes knocking the shapes together and likes grabbing the box. She will sit and play by herself for 1 hour. The product is made in Sweden. It is very durable and safe for kids to use. The only thing that worries me a bit is that it is hard and that it may hurt her if she fell on it or accidentally hit herself with it. Overall, great product. We bought this for our one year old daughter and she loves it! It is a lot more durable then I expected. The only down fall was it was a bit smaller then we thought it would be. It quickly made up for that, though! It is a great conversation piece even.....I would recommend it to everyone.

My 12 month old girls loves this toy. She loves to put the shape in the matching holes. She plays music with the blocks. Fisher-Price Amazing Animals Press & Go Crocodile

I bought this for my 5 month old son for his first Christmas. We took it in the kitchen and watched it go.. and he LOVED it! It moves fast and goes about 5 feet and the alligator jaws "chomp" while it is in motion. Tried it on the carpet, but the effect was not good as it only moved about 1 foot in distance.

My one year old recieved this for his birthday and loved it! He has no problem pushing the little bird to make him roll away.

HABA Shape Sorter Curioso

This is a nice toy, and the blocks are fun and interesting. However, I just don't find it to be educational as a shape sorter. The problem is that the sorter is made of cloth and the cutout holes are not very true to shape. The blocks don't fit in with ease. If I had it to do again I would get one of the wooden sorters that Haba makes.

This is not a perfect toy & I would not have spent $50 on it if I would have seen it in person first. This sorter comes with 8 blocks to put in the holes (3 of which go into the same hole). Also, the square block does not have a square hole to fit inside (it is slightly rectangular on one side) & you have to turn it sideways to fit it in the rectangular hole. I guess that's ok, but I think it would have been better if they would have made a square hole for it. I called Haba to get a replacement (I initially thought that it didn't fit in any of the holes) but they explained how it is supposed to work & sent us a free toy for the trouble, $30 value (great customer service). If I didn't figure this out right away, I doubt an infant will but I like to think that the act of having to turn it sideways encourages problem solving & critical thinking at a young age.

Infantino Activity Triangle

We recieved this as a part of a gift box my mom bought at costco's. I didn't think much of it when I saw it but it was bright and colorful.

Also in the package was a blue hippo that had blocks inside it and a plunger to push them out. Frankly speaking my 6 month old (at the time, now 7months) didn't know what to do with it, and it didn't capture his attention.

However wow! This gadget Triangle! My Goodness!! There is so much to look at and do, he is captivated by it. :)

He'll play with one side of the triangle for so long that he forget it has activities on the other sides. So every 10 minutes or so, I'll flip it and he will gurgle with renewed enthusiasm and start playing with the 'new' side!

When my son gets sleepy and lies back on his nursing pillow, often I'll hold it up and turn it back and forth so he can watch the 2 gears race up and down. One of them moves in a zig zag pattern and the other spins, its even fun for me to watch. As a side note, its great exercise for your wrist. It also makes a pleasant sound, when the tiny balls rattle, sounds like your shaking a box of salt, not too loud, perfect for a drowsy baby.

I also like that:

1. It has so many toys on it but is just one piece, so no lost parts or cleanup.

2. No batteries needed.

3. Its not a loud toy, just loud enough.

I highly highly recommend this toy, its really a bargain!

At 9 months, my child is still crazy about The Triangle. I believe the whole Infantino gift box with both toys was $. And no batteries needed. :)

What a bargain!

We were looking for a new toy for our then six month-old daughter, when a kind stranger recommended the Triangle as one her child had found entertaining. We looked closer at it and realized just how much was going on in this toy each side has multiple different actions, shapes, colors and activities, and there are spinners, rattles and mirrors too. In essence, you gain five sides of activity, and can extend the entertainment value of the toy by periodically rotating it for younger kids so that it always presents something new. As they become stronger, they begin to discover that it can be picked up and shook for added interaction, and will also begin rotating to different sides themselves.

While it is just slightly on the large size for easy portability, when we did have room, we were sure to pack it for trips as this one toy provides far more entertainment than carrying multiple others. Plus, it is well made and very durable. Now at 16 months, our daughter still carries this around as one of her favorite toys. We love it and she does too! We'll certainly be hanging on to this one for the next baby! A tremendous value!

We love this toy. I can't face all the flashing lights and music that is on every toy at the toy stores now, so I looked online for something to entertain our budding explorer. Our seven month old absolutely LOVES this toy. He can stay fascinated with it for extremely long periods of time, and I love that it is all about him driving the action, not the toy itself. We also bought the Curiousity Cube at the same time, which I like, but not as well. Definitely would recommend.

I love this toy and highly recommend it. My sister gave one to my boys when they were 3-1/2 months, and they obviously weren't interested. At about six months, we showed it to them again. It instantly became a favorite. The boys are almost a year old now, and it is still one of their most played with toys. In fact, I have to be careful that they don't fight over it.

There are five sides to the toy. One side has beads that can be moved along wiggly posts. Aother side has large balls and other-shaped objects that slide along straight posts. The third side has a mirror that flips around. The next side has two gears that are moveable, and the final side has two textured flat pieces that spin. There are tiny balls throughout the edges, so it makes noise when you shake it, but it's not a loud toy. My boys love it. They play with one side and then flip it and play with the other, over and over. This toy holds their interest longer than any toy we have so far. I wish I could find something similar that is just as good, but I haven't so far.

I love it when a classic gift can multitask!

I bought this for my father-in-law for Father's day. He's a big American history buff, especially Civil War/Revolutionary stuff, and he collects antique American flags. So I knew this was perfect for him! Not only can he get a dose of Presidential history, he can add to his flag collection in a neat new way. As an added bonus, he can play with his granddaughter (my 2 year old) with these and start teaching her some history early on. Its something they can share and build some memories with, and I love that!

They are well-crafted, with simple patriotic hues of blue and red on natural wood. The presidential portraits are very clear and realistic. The 'flag' is very nice too. The sides of each block are smooth, as are the corners and edges, which was a concern for me if my toddler was going to be playing with them. They look durable enough for a child to handle them, even though they're recommended for age 5 and up.

Although the set was on the pricier side, I decided it was far cheaper than buying my FIL another $1500 antique flag. I justified the price with the gift fulfilling a couple of rolesfather's Day, flag collection, American history, and grandpa-granddaughter playtime.

I highly recommend this for any patriots, history fanatics or flag collectors out there, but I consider this a pretty expensive set of blocks for little kids.

We got this as a gift at my baby shower and my daughter started using it around 6 months. She used it to help her start pulling up and feeling all the different sides. By nine months she was standing (with its help) and playing. She is almost 2 now and still loves it. It comes with a cartridge that changes the songs and makes it more interactivelike singing head, shoulders, knees and toes, as she does the dance, or doing jumping jacks. I can see that she will be using this toy for a long time to come. This is the only toy that has made that long haul from infancy well into toddlerhood. For the price, it is a great buy! She was singing along with the songs around age one and it helped her learn her shapes too!

My 9 month old plays with this product and really enjoys it! The sounds are fun (songs). It provides interesting ways for baby to explore. As my baby grows, this toy will help her develop motor skills like working snaps, zippers, buttons, etc. She is working some of those things even now! She loves to stand at it and it is very safe (soft cloth and no sharp edges).

Among the many toys at daycare, this is my daughter's favorite (outside of the gym). She is 13 months and has been walking for 2 months; however, because it is soft, I believe it would be a good choice for a child who was still "cruising." There are lots of things to manipulate inside the top layer of each side of the cube. And with 6 sides to the cube, there are a lot of options.

If electronic songs don't make you crazy and you don't have any blanket objections to battery-operated toys, this would be a good choice for your toddler.

I thought this was a good price, but shipping is a lot! Unfortunatly, I found it a lot cheaper at Wal-Mart. Now I know where to go next Halloween!

This was a very cute item. I received it pretty quick. The delivery time was over exaggerated. You will need some under clothes for this item. So, get a black turtle neck or long sleeve undershirt. We took many pics and she was adorable. It is very LIGHT IN COLOR. It is not a "rich" orange or "rich" green. The picture gives it more color. But it is not bad. So, if you want a more richer and thicker colored costume, you may not want this one. But if you are indifferent and it looks good. You want something inexpensive, cute and that you can take pictures in, then this is a good fit. They have these at Target as well.

As I had seen in various other reviews this outfit is way too small for an 18 months old child and will never fit a 24 months old child. The product description needs to be revised...but as usual Amazon and vendors are not doing so great with accurate product descriptions.....

That said, the costume is nice and I will use it next year for my youngest daughter who will be 9 months next Halloween.

I bought the 18 month size in this costume for my 16 mo. niece. While she was tall for her age, she was wearing 18 mo. clothes with room to grow. The hat didn't fit at all (not even close). Another review compared it to a beanie. I would almost call it a beret a completely flat one. The pumpkin itself was a little short. If she raised her arms at all, it rose above her diaper. It was still cute, just a lot smaller than I had expected.

Additionally, the costume is a good price, but know that unless you have them already, you will need to purchase a turtle neck and tights to wear under the pumpkin. Once all of that is figured in, the price becomes a little less attractive. My niece was still adorable, but I probably wouldn't buy this costume if I had it to do over again.

This toy is awesome! I have a 10 month old girl and a 2 year old girl and they love this toy. You can warp the music and your voice and come up with all kinds of sounds. It is very entertaining to watch both of them play with it! If you dont have one of these.. get one. Your child will not be bored!

Baby's First Blocks

Baby loves playing with these these (and sucking on them too--he's teething), dad loves playing with these, mom loves the extremely high quality of these blocks, which will obviously last for years, just because they are so well made but because they will be a building block (pun intended) of our toy collection for years to come. The paint is bright and strong, the wood grain and cut edges of the underlying wood is beautiful, and they are clearly excellent blocks.

I'm thinking of buying two more sets, just so we can build bigger towers for the kiddo to knock over.

The picture for this item isn't very good, so FYI, this set has two blocks each of six colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. We expanded the set with the Haba Discovery Blocks--the blocks from both sets are the same size, so it works perfectly.

These blocks are cubes, 4cm on each side. There are twelve in a package: 2 red, 2 orange, 2 yellow, 2 green, 2 blue, and 2 purple. This size block will coordinate with Haba First Blocks, Haba Fantasy Blocks, Building Blocks Sevilla, Haba Building Blocks Cordoba, and the Haba ball track set. They are the good quality you would expect from Haba blocks, though the packaging is not as nice as the packaging for the other block sets I mention above, so they would not be as attractive to give as gifts. I bought these blocks to expand on our other Haba block sets, and that's exactly what they did.

Our daughter loves these blocks! We started her off using them during dinner time when she was 5 months old. We have her sitting with us at the table. In lieu of food, she has these blocks to play with. (Hopefully working on her grasping skills while she's with the family.) They've held up quite well to all the grabbing, chewing, and throwing off of the table that they've had to go through. We've just started her on solids, so they are now getting washed with every meal and are holding up very well. Like all of the Haba toys we've purchased, these are quality products and I can see they will last for years to come.

Another nice side perk to these blocks is that they match other lines of Haba blocks, so they blend right in with the other sets.

We purchased these based on the great reviews, and when they arrived they seemed to be everything people said they were. Loved the colors and the quality looked great. Our daughter also seemed to like them. However, two days after receiving them I went to clean our toys, and noticed that one of the blocks had developed a surface splinter! I'll try and attach a picture as it's hard to describe otherwise.

She only played with them a couple of times, and both times were under supervision, so it's not like she was throwing them around or chewing on them that caused the piece to do this. We have since returned the blocks, and are debating whether or not to get another set. Probably not as there are so many other toys out there, but it's unfortunate.

Anyways -parents please be careful and check all of the pieces periodically! I shudder to think what would have happened had we not noticed this. (Our daughter is still at that age when she will put things in her mouth)

These blocks fit their title and are appropriate for first blocks. They are small enough for my 9 month old to grip easily, and he is attracted to the colors. The colors also seem pretty chip resistant. These blocks get thrown around quite a bit and none of the color has come off.

Got this for my 2 year old daughter and I expected it to be very thin and flimsy considering the price. I was totally wrong. The skirt is very full and has many layers. Very happy with the purchase and she looks adorable in it!

I was looking for a tutu that could be the starting point for a collection of "dress-up clothes" for my daughter. This tutu was affordably priced and seems very well-constructed. My daughter immediately wanted to start wearing it, and enjoys it a lot. I would definitely consider buying additional colors.

Mary Meyer Sweet Rascals, Wolfie Wolf, 9"

My daughter got this wolf a year or two ago, and still spends more time with it than any of her other toys, often falling asleep at night hugging it. It is surprisingly soft and cuddly, and has a very endearing innocent look. Very well crafted. Due to the softness of the fabric, you would probably want to protect it from rough handling by siblings, though we've seen no damage yet.

Alphabet Blocks

My husband and I bought these blocks as extras for the Incrediblock we'd purchased for our then nine-month-old son. While my son wasn't (and still isn't) wowed by the Incrediblock (you can see my review on that page), he does enjoy playing with the Alphabet Blocks.

I like the fact that each block has a big capital letter, and inside, something that starts with that letter; for example, the "D" block has a dog. We'll be able to use these blocks for a long time because of that; I can imagine spending time with my son and teaching him that "C" is for cat -and he'll be able to see both to make that association.

My son, on the other hand, couldn't care less at this point about the letters of the alphabet (he'll soon be one year old), but he does enjoy stacking and knocking over the blocks, banging them together, and especially shaking the ones that make noise. One of his favorites is the "I" block, which has an ice cream sundae inside with lots of sprinkles that rattle merrily when he shakes it.

All in all, this is a good, affordable, durable, educational and fun set of blocks. My family continues to be very pleased with them.

I really love all the Fisher Price Peek a Blocks---I saw them long before I knew we'd have a surprise #3 baby and I would actually have an excuse to buy them! Now we own pretty much all the sets. I would have to say this set, although big, is one of the weaker ones. The letters on the sides sometimes block seeing what's inside too well, and the toys inside are not as interactive or interesting as is the case with some of these blocks---for example, a horse that just sits there, a zylophone that doesn't move much, an apple that turns. I like their blocks with tiny things to shake inside or the like---the kind of things babies can't generally play with as they are too small, but that are made safe by being enclosed! Also, having ABCs is most just a way to have a set here I think---unless you are very into early learning, I don't think most babies are really ready to associate the letters with the toys inside (I know SOME babies are, but not that many, and not mine!) However, all this said, I still would say to buy this set, if you know you like this kind of block---It's great to add 26 more in one fell swoop!

I bought these blocks for my daughter when she was 9 months old and she really only enjoys them now. She is 14 months now and is starting to recognize some of the objects inside when I ask her to get them. But be warned bc they're not great for the real younger babies since there are only a few of them that really do anything like beep or rattle. Most of them just have a stationary object that may jiggle a bit. The ones that you can twist yourself are not child-friendly. She can't turn the knob at all so she gets frustrated. My 3 yr old can just do it. He likes them too bc they incorporate the alphabet. Another thing is that the printed letters block some of the objects so it's harder to see inside. I would more so recommend a diff set for a younger baby (6 mos)like the sound sensations and these for an older child (1 yr). Although you can't beat the price for 26 of these blocks! After "eyeing" this toy for several months and being hesitant to buy it because of the cost, we finally broke bown and purchased it when our daughter was 15 months old. We're very glad we did!

Our daughter loves shaking the blocks, banging them together and knocking over the blocks after we stack them up for her. She really likes putting them all into a plastic bin and then taking them all out again! The letter written on each block is meaningless to her right now, but that time will come.

We plan to keep these blocks for a few years. As our daughter approaches school age, the blocks will be a great tool to help teach and reinforce letter-sound association. We believe she may never be too old to benefit from her Peek-A-Boo blocks. We know we're not!

This set incorporates a lot of the favorites from other sets packaged in an A to Z learning format. I have been leary of purchasing too many of these blocks for storage reasons so the zippered case is a great bonus. Definitely worth every penny.

Munchkin Bath Book

My 4 month old loves this book, however I noticed there was blue color on his play tray. Next I noticed it on his clothes and mouth. This book is suppose to get wet! I was very freaked out bc it is made in China and the whole lead thing. I would not buy this as it can't be good for ink to be consumed by infants!

I started to get my daughter some bath toys when she was around 6 months old and was sitting up in the tub on her own, outside of the baby tub. She loves this book! It's very easy for her to grab onto with the seahorse, and sometimes when she's laying in the water she can even hook the string with her foot and pick it up that way. She also likes to gum the seahorse when she's teething. It always dries easily and she still enjoys playing with it after 2+ months. Good purchase!

The color ink comes off the book. My son loves to look at the pictures and "taste" it, but I noticed that the ink started coming off, so I had to put it up. I don't think that it's good for him to be eating the ink!

Cute but it has no words, just pictures. My girls love to have a book read in the bath. I just make up a story with this and it works ok! They love the seahorse! Fun to chew on!

The World of Eric Carle: Very Hungry Caterpillar Hand Puppet by Kids Preferred

Got this for my son's first birthday party which had a hungry caterpillar theme. Used it as decor but as something I could keep and use later. Its a cute puppet also. Good quality.

Nice, good material, colourful, looks like Eric Carle's caterpillar. My hand fits in it and I can wiggle the feet around. My son (3) likes it a lot.
