Baby Toys: Hide and Squeak Eggs Sorting Fun

Okay, at Easter I bought 2 entertaining types of eggs. I bought these and I bought the "Hide em and find em" eggs. These were way cheaper and a MUCH better deal in my opinion. My 22 month old son still plays with these and through them, I am able to teach him colors, shapes and he can work on his fine motor skills. These are a great toy! And they are not just for easter. They are durable and big enough that they aren't a choking hazard. The don't require batteries......yeah!!!! And the only sound they make is when you push down on them they make a little squeak. The tops fit onto all 6 of the eggs and I love the little carton they all come in. I will definitely be buying this as a gift for other friends as I think it's an amazing toy!

I can't believe this toy isn't a staple in the household like those shape sorters. It's durable, adorable and I even like playing with it. The little peeps squeak, You can match the bottom shape and the faces. I bought this for my son when he was 1 1/2 and he got a bit frustrated with not being able to match the bottom shapes so the eggs wouldn't go in. He's 2 now and has fun with it. I've bought several for birthdays too.

This was a wonderful find. I had never heard of these before. And, they stretch a wide age band to enjoy. We first gave these around 10 months & they were an immediate favorite. There is something about putting the eggs in & out of the little plastic container as well as putting the 2 sides of the eggs together that the babies love.

They are really cute & easy to keep clean. You can take them anywhere as they are compact; however, be careful not to lose any halves of the eggs.

There are no sharp edges & they are the perfect size for little hands. I would say these are indestructible as they are very durable.

What is really neat about these eggs is how educational they are. Each egg has a different pair of eyes painted on them & they have a corresponding/matching egg top that they have to match or pair up. Also, the bottum of each egg is a different shape including: triangle, circle, star, square, cross/plus sign, and a heart. Each shape fits into a certain slot in the carton. This is how we taught these basic shapes & pretty quickly.

NOTE: obviously, it takes time for them to learn to match the eyes, shapes, etc & is why this toy stretches out for a wide age span which is nice. It grows w/ them until they learn all of this.

They also have the cutest little squeak when you press down on them.

Best of all no batteries or anything loud. Just pure thoughtful fun.

I now give this as a 1 year old gift b/c for some reason, like myself, no one has heard of these. I haven't seen a baby not immediately go to these.

Hopefully these will be found by more people b/c they are wonderful in so many ways.

My son got these "eggs" for his 1st birthday and has been playing with them everyday for 3 months. While he can't sort yet, he dumps them out, puts them back, puts the top "shell" back on, and carries them around in his little hands. At his birthday party all the kids 1-6yrs seemed to have fun with these eggs. (more advanced kids can sort shapes and match the chick's faces to the top of the egg shell. It's also a great toy to stick in your diaper bag or toy bag. The pieces are not too small to get lost and with 6 "eggs" easy to keep track of plus the carton closes up.

This is one of the cuter shape sorters I have seen. The faces on the shells are cute, and I love how the little chicks make their peeping noise when you press them. It isn't at all loud or annoying either. I also really like how the tops go on the eggs. Any top fits any egg so you can mix them up.

Cons:

The purple key looks like a control for the baby, and my daughter wants very much to turn the key, however, it is the on/off and volume control. This is a pretty poor design choice in my opinion. When she finally is able to turn the key, it ends all the fun.

The programming is set so that most of the time, lights and noise are generated in response to baby action. However, sometimes, it just plays a song from start to finish, and only a specific up up tap from the gear shift will end it. I don't like this, because I can see my daughter's face curl up in doubt when she's frantically turning the wheel and the unit isn't responding to her.

Although the plastic parts wipe up nicely, I do wish that the cloth wheel would peel off somehow for better cleaning.

All in all, this is a decent toy. I'd reccommend playing it with your baby. I hold it with the palm of my hand over the key, and when it starts playing a song and not responding to standard input, I just tap the gear shift for her.

Bought this for my daughter because my nephew had one and she instantly fell in love with it. She was 3 months old at the time and started spinning the steering wheel without being shown how. She is 5 months old now and still loves this item. Would definately recommend. There are not a lot of toys like this for young babies and this is a great one.

My baby has had this since he was about 3 months old. He is now six months and likes it even better that he is sitting up. He loves to play with this and move the wheel around. He doesn't push the other buttons as much but loves the wheel. It's great that there are two volume settings because it can get loud and annoying after a while. It also keeps making noise even if baby isn't playing with it. I like that the wheel is soft because my baby likes to eat it as much as he does driving it. I agree with others who wish you could wash the cover to the wheel. Using a wet cloth to clean it is okay but not that effective. It is small enough that we take this with us to restaurants and in the car. We have had good luck with Vtech toys and I think they are very durable. We have never had any problems with them. I highly recommend this toy.

As with many of my baby son's toys this was a gift and he loves it! He has had a lot of "quick fun" with it but his attention is not held by this toy very long, unfortunately. That is for several reasons, but the main one is he had this toy before he could walk and has been walking nearly over a month (about 7 weeks or so) now...and so this toy is not a fascination compared with other newer toys, and the minute bits of stuff he finds in his daily travels, lol!

But the toy is a great 1 for babies to learn the abc song, because my son starting singing it not too long ago, abc "e"...he sang just the other day and yes, he was wrong but he was singing, on-tune with the toy and that was definitely music to my ears since I assumed he would learn from the Leap Frog Letter Factory DVD and our reminders like his older brother, who before he was 2...could identify all the letters and their sounds from a dvd I bought on this website!

What an incredibly irritating toy. We got it for our son after he started showing great interest in spinning the knob on our washer. Like another reviewer said, he does love to turn the wheel as fast as possible, but isn't much interested in the other features. However, the Baby Driver will not be daunted. It narrates the action of turning the wheel ("Round and round!"), sings its annoying little tunes and offers helpful tips such as "Fasten your seatbelt!" and "Watch out!" in what I am positive is the most obnoxious female voice ever. I can only take it being turned on for approximately three and a half minutes before I have to turn the little purple key and shut it off. I do wish it had suction cups or at least some rubber bumpers on the bottom to keep it from sliding all over the place when he's playing with it on the floor.

I was searching for a wood/green climbing structure and ramp to use with babies (8-9 months old) and toddlers (up to two years old), in the parenting classes I teach in my home. I took a chance on ordering this one, even though there were no reviews, because it seemed to best suit my needs, and the price was very reasonable, especially compared to other similar objects.

The piece arrived today, and I couldn't be more pleased. It required assembly, which was quick and easy(all screws and hex wrench enclosed). It is a well made, stable, sturdy, nicely finished, piece of equipment, and just the right size for the babies and toddlers, to provide both safety, and a fun climbing, sliding, balancing challenge. It was carefully packed and there was no damage in shipping. It is small enough and lightweight enough to be moved to another room or location in my home, but solid and sturdy enough not to be moved around by toddlers climbing and playing on it(or be moved around by them pushing and pulling on it).

I will post some pictures and write more after "test driving" it in class next week, but I think this was a good investment, and again, I searched far and wide, and found nothing comparable in terms of quality and price.

Your baby is not going to be happy with a toy phone that obviously looks like a toy. This is the most realistic looking toy phone out there. We had to return the first one that we bought at a brick and mortar because it stopped after a few days.This is probably because of all of the customers "testing" it. The brick and mortar was out of stock so we ordered from Amazon for a few dollars more. The second phone is still working great after a month.You can record your own message to the baby and then lock it so she is less likely to accidentally erase it. It comes with several other messages and will "call" the baby by ringing a few seconds after it is closed. It has two short tunes that I wish were a bit longer. Even if this one would have died quickly we would have kept it for looks alone.

I love this purchase. My daughter has finally stopped trying to take my cell phone now. What a great idea.

From the moment our 16 month old saw it, she loved it. Everytime she sees it she smiles and giggles, sits on the floor with it and starts to push the buttons. When she gets music she sways along with it. It is just so cute to watch and it makes us all laugh. I highly recommend this little phone. My daughter loves this toy! My mom got it for her when she started pulling up and she loved playing on the front of it when sitting and pulling up on the front and back. Recently she learned how to push it and I love that it's more sturdy than other walkers I've seen although it does go faster on hardwood so I would recommend beginners use it on carpet. I feel she will be walking soon judging from how well she pushes it now at only 8 months! She also has the doll that is sold separately which is super cute!

We bought this stroller for our grandchild who was in the pulling up stage. It is wonderful! We had already bought several of the walk behind / ride on toys and the V-tech walker. Ainsley was never very interested in any of those. From the moment she first saw this one, she knew exactly what it was. She puts Baby Stella in it and pushes her all over. It is very sturdy. Ainsley uses it to pull up and then it doesn't roll fast so she can walk behind it. She never had any problem turning it. She is steady enough with its support that she easily changes direction. I really feel that this toy gave her the confidence to take the next step. She is now officially a toddler having taken her first few steps last week, but she still loves pushing her dolls in this stroller. I highly recommend this stroller. I wish that we had found it before we bought all the other walk behind toys that didn't really work for us.

My 15 month old daughter loves this toy. We bought it to encourage her to walk. She loves to push her babies in it. I agree that it doesn't turn well, but it is light enough that my daughter can pick it up to turn it. The music only plays for a few seconds, so it isn't too annoying. It is very sturdy. It seems to roll better on carpet than hardwood or tile. It sort of slides on solid floors. I would certainly purchase this toy again.

I have been waiting for this walker for quite some time, and it's everything I thought it would be. It's not too big, so it doesn't take up too much space. I bought this stroller for my 1 year-old little girl who is learning to walk. She's loves to put her babies in the stroller and "walk" them around the house. The stroller is the perfect height for little ones and I was surprised at how durable and sturdy it is. The wide base makes it easier for her to push. I only have two small complaints....The stroller is very lightweight. I think that this is a problem with a lot of the walkers on the market. It's hard for her to control because it goes faster than she can walk. I solved this by putting a sock full of beans in her baby doll! The stroller is heavier and easier for her to push. Also, the music that the bear plays is annoying... she and my other kids like it though! i would definitely recommend this toy.

Bunnies by the Bay Blossom's Who's A Bunny Book, Pink

For some reason, this is the only book that my 8-month-old daughter actually pays attention to and doesn't try to eat. When I open this book, she stares at the pictures and watches till the end. She doesn't do this with any other book, including others in the Bunnies by the Bay series. It's no deep story, just a series of pairs of pages: "Is this a bunny? No, this is a duck! Quack quack". But the pictures must be very appealing to that age. It's cute and small and colorful and the bunny on the cover is soft plush (the inside is just plain board book).

I got this as an easter gift for my 21 month old daughter. She loves it, loves the pictures, and cant put it down. It's a bit smaller than I expected, which is the only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5.

Hape 1-2-3 Shape Sorter

The wood split within two week with normal/minimal use. I would not buy this again. Poor quality toy and not worth the price.

We got this for our niece. She loves it! I love the fact that the blocks down easily fall out because of the elastic band that goes across the "grab hole". We love to play with it together plucking out the blocks and putting them all back in through their appropriate color and shape. Sometimes she sits with it on her lap trying to stack the blocks on top of the sorter. Unlike the other comment, our 2 YO niece doesn't have a problem retrieving the blocks from the cage.

Toddler Wonder Woman

Bought this costume last year for Halloween. My daughter was 2 yrs and 2mos old so I bought her the toddler size. Had to return it for a 3t/4t and it was still MUCH too small! She is an average sized girl. The dress was WAY short. I had to dig around for some bloomer to cover her bum! The "boots" are ridiculous! They are about 3 times too long and equally too wide. They have no stretch and do not stay up. I had to sew them practically half the size and they still didn't stay up! The picture shown with this costume does not represent it accurately AT ALL! It's a cute costume and fairly well made but if it doesn't fit none of that matters. We were very disappointed.

This costume is great for toddlers. I'd put the size at about a 2T. It's well made for a costume.

This is a mini dress and it doesn't have a bodysuit and underwear/diapers are visible if the child bends over or runs around in it. You may need to get some bottoms to complete it. The stitching is well done and firm. The costume washes well. I put it on delicate wash and hung it to dry. After it was dry, I put it in the dryer on a refresh cycle for about 10 minutes to remove wrinkles. (There weren't many.) Most messes wipe easily off of it.

I'm not a big fan of the legging/shoe covers as they tended to slide down and weren't as consistent with the sizing of the dress, but were perhaps made for a slightly bigger child than the dress was. There is no bottom to them, but just an elastic strip to hold them in place under the child's shoe.

The arm bands slip on and the headband has an elastic band around it to hold it in place. My concern with that is that my daughter pulls it down around her neck to wear as a necklace and I worry about choking if it gets caught. The belt is sewn on and doesn't come off or move around. The cape attaches to the dress with velcro. It stays on fairly well even when the child is running around.

All in all, it's very cute and well-made. I'd definitely recommend it!

This costume is adorable but way too small. It is listed as a toddler size 2-4 but the packaging says age 1-2 which is much more appropriate for the actual size. My daughter is in the average height and weight for a 3 yo and it is too small.

I opened the box and my daughter was so excited. She put it right on. She is 2 yrs and 3 mnths. It is a little big but she will grow into it. I have noticed that a lot of costumes that she has, she wears them around the house a lot too so it will definitely be good use as a Halloween costume and lots of daytime fun! The boots are a little big but I can fix them and yes I will have to put on a pair of bloomers to cover but then again she always wears bloomers with dresses, that does not seem like a big deal.

The costume is very bright colored shiny material and very cute! The skirt flares out a little so my daughter is having fun going in circles like the original WW did when she turned into and out of WW. She didn't care much about the boots, she just loves the bracelets and the dress and played with it for a while before having to put it away. Definitely worth it. Her smile is priceless!

My daughter wanted to be Wonder Woman for Halloween, so I ordered this costume for her. She put it on as soon as we got it and began running around the house pretending to be Wonder Woman. Her imagination is running wild. She loves that it's shiny and, unlike other reviewers, the blue shine has not come off yet. She's worn it every day for the last 4 days. It is a little short for an average sized 3 1/2 year-old, so my mother-in-law is going to make some matching undies. I think if we had gotten the girl size instead of the toddler size, it would've been much too large. Now, the boot covers ARE very large and they do keep on falling to her ankles, but they don't seem to bother her. She's too busy saving the world from bad guys.

I bought this for my daughter, who had a birthday ball for her 4th birthday party (a fancy title for a typical birthday party). Her favorite princess is Belle, and she loved it. It fits really well, is floor length on her so there is a little growing room. She is about 40 inches tall and 35 lbs. She can put in on by herself as the bodice is stretchy and there are no buttons or zippers. She has worn it a lot in the last month and it has held up despite being worn for hours in a moon bounce. From all of the other "Belle" dresses I researched, this one seemed to have the most value for the price. We have not been disappointed.

Did I get the same dress that is pictured on the website? The dress is pretty, but you should realize they make it look as good as possible in the picture. Actual dress is not as pale yellow. It is a bright yellow, not gold like Belle's actual dress, but yellow. The skirt is not full like it is in the picture. The whole thing can fit easily in an 8x10 mailing envelope. Don't get me wrong, the dress is pretty and my daughter will love it, but it does seem very cheap for the price. The price should be closer to $20 for what you get.

A very much loved aspect of this dress up dress. I can throw it in the wash and hang it to dry afterwords and it's good to go again.

Only a 4 star rating as I'm still quite baffled at how my daughter was so easily able to fiddle with the roses on the belt line and they came off, re sewed them on for no problems, but she absolutely adores the dress.

Gund Spunky Motion 8" Pink Musical

This product didnt work at all, didnt wind up or play music. It was supposed to be a gift and arrived on time but didnt work.

I've owned the blue version of this dog for about a year and a half and the music box has stopped working. very disappointing considering that this was originally bought as a replacement to a pink dog I owned as a baby [that my son got attached to when he was a baby, that the music box only stopped working in after about 20 years.] things aren't made like they used to be.

my son really loved this stuffed animal, got quite attached very quickly, so the fact that it no longer works is just so very disappointing.

We got a Spunky as a gift for my daughter when she was a baby. Spunky is very soft and plays a lovely, comforting song. Since Spunky 1, we have purchased 4 more. Spunky 1, by then with a broken music box and a rather gray coloring, was lost in a park on vacation in Minnesota. My husband and I were as upset as our daughter. Spunky 2 arrived via overnight mail when my daughter was 22 months, and she has never looked so happy. Spunky 2, also not making music and a gray color, was lost at the Denver Zoo when my daughter was 4. Spunky 3 was picked up from the "doctor" at a local store the same day. Spunky 3, non-musical and gray, was left in Leadville last month, when my daughter was 6-1/2, and probably snow-plowed. Spunky 4 is every bit as soft and pretty and playing music now. Spunky 5 is hidden in our house should he ever be needed. Hopefully this will not happen and Spunky 5 will be for my daughter's own child. Spunky 4 is not let out of the house in an effort to keep him forever. My daughter thinks that Spunky 4 is Spunky cleaned up by the Gund company. Or at least she is willing to accept this. We LOVE Spunky!

North American Bear Company Flatobearius, Yellow, Medium

This is the first I've purchased from North American Bear Company, and dare say it shall not be the last. These plush friends are very well constructed, and wash beautifully when done according to instructions.

As stated in the product description they are not a large, overstuffed plush. The near flat body gives them a unique characteristic, which makes them perfectly 'huggable' for little arms. Our little boy simply loves playing with them!

North American Bear Company got every detail right with the Flatso line, so I hope to see them expand it with other animal characters in future.

My 16 month old daughter loves this bear! She sleeps with it and carries it around with her. It sees more than it's share of "roughness" but endures it all. The main reason I got this was because it was machine washable. This makes it a favorite of mommy as well as daughter!

Color Changing Ducks, 3 pc

The water has to be hot for them to slowly change color (though the effect is instantaneous if you boil them). You would certainly not want the water any warmer so you do not scald your child. They do, unfortunately, gain mildew on the inside (in case you were wondering why I boiled them). Especially since kids put everything in their mouths, I am not happy he can squirt the water in his mouth from inside the duck. I recommend either planning to replace these often, changing them out completely to let them dry, or just move on to a different bath toy. There are other ducks in the pond, so to speak.

Very cute, seemingly good quality... but I am disappointed at how hot the water must be for the ducks to change color. I am pretty sure my daughter's tub water is as hot as a kid can handle comfortably and the ducks definitely do not change color a bit. I thought they were total lemons until my husband tried putting them in scalding hot water, and they did change colorswhich is of no help to my daughter.

These do change colors, but it's not what I thought they'd be. My granddaughter wanted some duckies for her bath. Her old ones got full of water and had to be tossed. These are ok. They get water in them too, and soon we'll be throwing these out and on the search for more. I'd get the regular yellow next time.

It arrived plastic wrapped which I loved.... it is very age appropriate. I gave it as a gift and my friend's son loves it! It was for his first birthday and ended up being his first puzzle. Time to build those fine motor skills!

Our 13 month old enjoys this puzzle and the similar fishbowl puzzle. He can grab the chunky wood handles and pull the pieces out easily. At some point he will want to put them back into the puzzle, but for now, they're quite durable as he flings them joyously around the living room.

Baby Luv Nightlight and Music Turtle

Maybe just a fluke, but one of the turtles didn't work. Brand new, out of the box, and we couldn't turn it on or off. After playing with it for a period of time we are able to finally get it to work but our three year old is not able to operate it on her own. Also, each turtle has a hole in it to use an ac adapter to plug it in. The turtles didn't come with a cord though.

We bought this for our baby for Christmas. He hasn't gotten to use it much because his siblings keep taking it from him. Our 2 year old and 4 year old love it! It's a sweet little turtle and works as a great nightlight. The only thing keeping me from giving it five stars is that the music is echo-y and loud. There is a switch to turn the music to a lower volume but it doesn't turn it down enough. I would think for an infant it would need a quieter setting. Also a timer for the light to dim and shut off would be an excellent feature. Overall we like it.

My grannies spend the week with me every other month and I love having new and exciting things for their vists. Well on their last night with me I gave them the Baby Luv nightlight . It is so much fun to see the stars and moon on the ceiling.And the music was nice too. We laughed and played till the girls fell asleep. They are 2 and 4 years old, I even sent one to my daughter in Afghanistan she told me to get her a night light that showed stars.I know she will love it too.

Speakers are too low in quality for a peaceful sendoff to slumber land. Great was a nightlight but that's it.
