This little set includes super sturdy instruments for five kids to form a marching band. My children (ages 3.5 and 1.5) and their friends love marching in a line, dancing and singing. Other sets at big name stores seemed very poorly manufactured and likely to be destroyed very easily, not to mention the safety hazard with the younger set. Hang the drum around you neck and find the beat, shake the shaker, clap the clapper, jingle the bells, rock the tambourine, play the ladybug xylophone and have a blast.

My 1 year old son just received this for his birthday & it's one of his favorite toys. He loves it & it's the first thing he goes to every morning. He takes the lid off & pulls all the instruments out to find what he wants to play with. Each instrument is child friendly & looks like a different bug. All the toys are easy for small children to grip. It includes a drum & drumsticks, tambourine, bells, maracas, and a xylophone type toy with a little stick that I think is a little dangerous for small children. My son uses the drumsticks on various surfaces & since they're plastic, they don't scratch the surface. I also wish that it included a pair of cymbals. Other than this, I think it's a great set & can be used for many years to come. It's a great value for the money. My 15 month old LOVES the Ant bells, bee-shaker & Drum features. He also uses it as a seat when the lid is on and enjoys fitting inside the drum when empty! It's been a little over 4 months now and he still runs to it! The drum sticks have little rubber bumbs on them for better infant grip. We implement the "drumming" on many different surfaces so he can hear the different sounds on different surfaces. The toys are easy to disinfect. We usually save this toy for a rainy day to "beat" the gloomy blahs!

I bought this toy set for my kids years ago and it's been so much fun! HOWEVER, the design issues surrounding the Bee Bop Band have plagued this toy and the companies who make it (Battat & Parents Magazine). First, the company was ordered to replace the drum sticks due to unsafe design (tendency to shatter at the tip). I was ok with that, because they were being responsible in getting the defective toys out of the hands of children.

However, I recently discovered that the ladybug xylophone that was in my set is No Longer Included in the current set. There's no mention of why or contact to parents to inform them to remove it from play due to its tendency to break into many small and sharp pieces. I had not realized that it was not in the current model until I called Battat to report a problem with the xylophone.

I knew there might be a problem since the number on the label no longer worked and I had to look them up on the internet. It foreshadowed the difficulty I would have in being able to talk to a human. After leaving several messages and some creative dialing (random number pushing in hope of connecting to anyone human in their mailbox system), I spoke with a man who assured me he would give a note personally to Carrie (the one I'd left many messages for. I received a call 48 hours later from Carrie informing me that the xylophone had not been included in the set for the last 3 years AND that Parents went out of business in 2010, so they don't have anyone to report this incident to. She said she'd inform the president of the company and his secretary. After that, it was out of her hands.

So, the xylophone was excluded from the set 3 years ago without telling anyone who already owns the set why, or warned to watch for certain vulnerabilities. That is wrong! And since one partnering company is 'out of business', the other acts incapacitated and washes their hands of it? No wonder there are so many lawyers. I'm just thankful that my baby didn't ingest or choke on it, that I was there to see it happen and protect my child. Buyer BEWARE! Not a good track record for this set! I hope and pray that the company acts responsibly about this hazard before a child is harmed. But since the xylophone was excluded a few years ago, I wouldn't be surprised if a child was already hurt and they kept it quiet after the drum stick fiasco that cost them dearly ($150,000 in fines and voluntary recall of 300,000 sets.

Looking into contacting the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission myself, like the other 25 people did to get Battat to recall the drumsticks the first time. I purchased this item based on another review that stated it was a good toy for babies. I am teaching my baby sign language and thought a little toy dog would be good incentive to learn the sign for dog. Unfortunately my daughter is teething and everything goes in her mouth and gets chewed on. I was very disappointed when a simple tug at the fur on the top of the doggy's head resulted in several strands coming out. As a result, this stuffed toy will be put away until she is past the age of chewing on everything.

Otherwise, for collectors or for older children, the puppy dog has a very sweet face and is very soft.

CoCaLo Dinos At Play Plush Dinosaur

Really cute, got it as a gift for my friends new baby boy. When I received it there was glue on the top fin, looks like where they sealed the bag it was in. Not a huge deal, but a little disappointing.

We do not have this bedding set, but this particular dinosaur plush completes our nursery decor. It is about a foot tall with very plush velour material. The blue sections are a wide corduroy style fabric, also plush velour in feel.

It is a soft sherbet orange color with light blue accents. The colors will work nicely for a girl or boy. It is a wonderful toy/decoration for any child's room, infant or older.

It is well constructed and very soft. I could not be happier!

Brainy Baby ABC's Board Book

My 1 year old loves this book!!! The letters and pictures are a good size, there are only 2 per page so the pages aren't over crowded. I'm very pleased with the book, and more importantly, so is my son!

I first got the numbers brainy n=baby book, and since my son likes it I got the ABC one also. They are the same, just a plain page with colorful items. One image per letter. There is not a story, just each letter and an object. I like it that the pages are hard so young ones can't destroy them.

I bought this toy hoping that it would entertain my 15 month old while trying to go to sleep. It is very cute, and has some fun things to do. My daughter especially loves the tongue on the snake, you can pull it out and it shakes as it goes back in its mouth. I was disappointed though when I tried to attach it to her crib rail. She has a convertible crib and the side rail isn't a standard size and I couldn't get the toy to attach correctly. I decided to still keep it and let her play with it outside her crib, she still enjoys it. I am sure with a standard crib the toy would be even more fun! This is a nice toy for the crib to entertain your child when he or she wakes up, however after having it only a month or two the snake's tongue stopped working (you pull on it and it goes back in with a noise). For $50 I expected something a lot more impressive. A crib toy for $50 needs to be not only entertaining and visually appealing but also good quality and good presentation (particularly if using it for a baby shower). The toy arrived in a ratty UPS envelope without any product packaging. As a result, the crib toy appeared dingy and shop worn. I returned it immediately. Received a credit for $42 not $50 adding insult to injury.

I have the Goodnight Shepherd in my grade 1/2 classroom and it has become a cherished addition in my room. I purchased the 3 matching puppy pieces for my friend's baby. I love the puppy doll with his cute polka dot shorts, the matching ring rattle and the very soft "cuddly" blanket doll. The blanket puppy has polka dots on one side and and a soft choclate brown jersy knit on the other side. I like the four knotted ends as they are great for teething. It also has a rattle in it's head. My friend (and I) are very happy that all the toys are made from organic materials. We both worry about what's in toys the kids chew on while teething. Care Bears Waterbabies: Wish Bear Waterbaby

I wanted a doll that could do it all, i.e. get dirty and take a bath--I'm surprised there don't seem to be many that can (this was the 1st I saw that could & I was in a hurry :( ) The wiggly water effect is a nice idea and kind of works, but the doll is rather heavy when full of water--TOO heavy for my 18 month old. But she can and does love to play with this doll when its empty. The other big problem is that this doll can only lay down or I guess stand leaning against something. If you don't fill it with water and leave the plug open so air can flow in and out then you can kind of make it sit if you squish some air out, but eventually, it will fill with air again... All in all, it's just a doll, not really a "baby doll" in the pretend mothering sense of the word.

Sassy Me In The Mirror

Unlike some of the other mirrors for babies this one is pretty low-key, no flashing lights and not a lot of noise. That being said the Me in Mirror is still an excellent toy for your newborn. This was one of the first things that I bought for my daughter, toywise. Even if your little baby hasn't mastered grabbing at things, they should still enjoy this toy. After all babies are fascinated by faces.

I use the Me in The Mirrir primarily as a crib mirror, when I had used it as a toy for her during tummy time, she had managed to almost pull it onto her head. About the warning for a choking hazard: this is concerning safety pins, I never used the safety pins, instead I tie it to my daughter's crib.

My daughter enjoys carrying a conversation with herself, of course she probably thinks that there is another baby. It is a lot of fun just watching her look at herself in the mirror and laugh. She also enjoys playing with the gummy ring and the rattles that are attached to the mirror.

This Sassy product caught my eye because of its colors when I was searching for something for my baby's crib during playtime. Me in the Mirror provides the reflective mirror and some cute and colorful attached toys around the border which spring off with velcro for easy play, but I found the toy did not stand or prop up in the crib, and if we tied it to the side my daughter could not really get to it. It's cute if you just want something inexpensive and bright for brief amusement, but it could really use a better anchor system so it stays put at baby's distance. The side opposite the mirror has a slot for you to insert a picture of family or of baby so they begin to recognize photos and this is a nice extra.

When my daughter was a few weeks old, my husband and I went to the store to get her a mirror, because we'd read that babies like to look at faces. We chose this one because of the fact that it can either tie to the side of the crib or fold out to stand upright on the floor. The toys were also a big factor in the sell, as they meant that she could keep playing with the mirror when she wasn't content to just stare at it anymore.

We took it home, and she loved it! We laid her on the floor and set it up next to her, and she stared at her reflection and reached for the baby and was pretty happy for quite a while, just looking at herself. As she got older and discovered her hands, she started playing with the toys, the bird being her favorite. It has a bell in it, so she'd shake it to hear the bird.

Now that she's 9 months old, she still loves it. The mirror hangs in her crib now, and when she wakes up in the morning, she talks to her reflection. This was definitely a good buy and I would (and have!) refer it to anyone.

I looked at Fisher Price's Activity Crib Mirrors with flashing lights and sounds. I looked at Baby Einstein.

But I chose the Sassy "Me in the Mirror" for several reasons (and ended up buying two, one for home and one for Grandpa Daycare).

1. The mirror is a nice big square mirror, large enough for baby to see his WHOLE face, not just his eyes and nose or nose and mouth in, like some of the Fisher Price and Baby Einstein mirrors.

Babies need to see themselves making faces and sounds so that they can recognize speech patterns and learn that when they go "Oooo", their face is elongated vs. "Ahhhh", where they look more like they are smiling. They also interact with their image, delightedly learning in time that they are smiling back at themselves.

A small mirror doesn't allow a baby to see anything but disjointed images.

2. The toys on this mirror don't obstruct baby's image, but they do capture baby's imagination. My three month old son immediately grabbed for the sun, which twists left and right and also has a squeezy toy inside that squeeks, moving it like a little steering wheel. He doesn't really enjoy tummy time, unless it's on mommy or daddy's stomach, but he immediately took to being on his stomach in front of this mirror! YAY!

Some of the other toys on this mirror were also very entertaining for him; the little curly fabric swatches, he grabs onto and pulls the mirror towards himself (with mom watching to make sure it won't tip over). The birdy is a shaker rattle with crinkly wings, and the ladybug is a spinny toy with soft felty green fur and yellow ribbon legs.

The whole mirror is brightly colored in highly contrasting colors and geometric shapes, just begging for baby to look at it. It can be stood up like a tent for tummy time, it can be attached to a crib and angled towards baby, it also can lay flat, with velcro keeping the mirror from tenting out. And on the back is a clear plastic pocket where you are encouraged to put a picture of people baby loves, so that when he plays with the toy, he is reminded of those who love him.

3. I have a lot of toys that make noise and have lights and sounds, but I wanted a mirror toy that was quiet; that would encourage baby to make the sounds at the mirror, instead of baby stopping his cooing and ooing and ahhing in order to listen to another rendition of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star". This mirror encourages baby to squeal in delight at himself, or touch the image looking back at himself.

4. The reflective surface is not glass, but a plastic/metal (?) and that's a safety feature I really like, I've heard of mirrors breaking and potentially putting baby in harms way. And, also another feature I consider important is that it's lightweight. If this crib mirror were to accidentally topple and bonk baby on the noggin in tent mode (heaven forbid, because that means I wasn't paying attention to baby and would be missing his sweet smiles, as well as being negligent), it would do no lasting harm besides startling baby and causing him to cry for a bit (and hopefully that would get my attention and as a parent I'd swoop in, cuddle and comfort him).

5. And finally...The Price is Right. The mirror is inexpensive and doesn't require batteries. And it seems like everything out there requires batteries in order to entertain baby. Sassy's Me in the Mirror proves you don't need batteries to capture baby's attention.

I bought this versatile (and fairly inexpensive) little mirror, not for in the crib, but for in the car and it works great! I was facing a 500 mile drive, alone with a 4 year old and a 2.5 month old who hated the car. Literally screamed every time (for the whole time) we were in it. Piper the Panda - black, white & red, baby travel toy

My son loves this toy! We put it on the cover to his swing and on his car seat. It is small and bright, and really catches his attention (he is five months old). It is affordable and one of his favorite toys!

I bought this because I was looking for something to entertain my then-newborn daughter. Unfortunately, this toy looks super low quality, and I couldn't give it to her. There were pieces of stuffing and thread coming out of the toy, and honestly, I just didn't trust my newborn rubbing it on herself. Swim Ways Sun Canopy Starfish Baby Float-Colors May Vary

We paid like $10 for this at Target so don't pay much more than that!! The canopy doesn't stay on and ours must have had a leak because it didn't inflate really either. It also doesn't allow the baby to really get down in the water. My daughter is 13 months old and when she is in it, only her legs are under water. The rest of her body sticks out and she sort of falls forward. Last summer when she was a newborn it seemed to fit her better. This may be a better option for little babies rather than bigger ones.

I'm not sure why on amazon this float is 40$ because I bought mine at target for 12$..

However, this float is okay BUT the canopy DOES NOT stay in place. the wind blows and it goes back.

It's also really hard to blow up.

These are too hard to click together. Little kids are not able to play with these on their own. Poor design. And the quality of the plastic pieces overall is pretty low, some rough seams and generally cheap feeling.

Would not recommend.

I have two boys, ages 2 and 5. They both enjoy playing w/this toy but in different ways. The 5 yr old makes patterns with it and uses it for imaginative play in various ways. (only when I am playing with them with the 2 yr old... I wouldn't recommend purchasing for a 4 or 5 yr old but just pointing out that they can continue to enjoy them over time). My younger son was not able to snap them together when we first got him (before age 2) but shortly after turning 2 was able to put them together although I have not seen him pull them apart yet. I like to use them for teaching colors... (give me a red one...) as well as talking about the different textures of them and how they feel. To some extent you can also talk about shapes (triangle shaped one vs round vs barrel) as well. He likes to make a very long chain and is so proud of his work when completed. Once i tear them apart, he likes to "clean up" by putting them back into the plastic carry bag (nicely made and sturdy) and zip it shut. Good for hand/eye coordination/dexterity. Highly recommend them... would be a great gift for a child turning two.

So excited to get this for our 15 month old granddaughter. Great packaging. But, alas, the interlocking connection was IMPOSSIBLE for her to use. It requires a fair amount of force for me to connect and disconnect them. Even my very strong 4-year-old grandson struggles to use them. Poorly designed and completely useless. Plus, I unknowingly tossed the bar code and now I am stuck with them. Paid too much for nothing. I find Amazon's return policies difficult to comply with.

Gave this to my 16 month old for Christmas. The same day, I noticed that one of the knobs (that you would insert into another bead) had broken off. This is obviously an unsafe choking hazard. Returned item.

Nice quality and a large amount of the beads. My 10 month old granddaughter loves playing with these and carrying them around with her, even though she is too young to put together or take them apart. So I think these will be fun for a long time. Nice vivid colors; good for teaching colors and counting too.

My First Elmo

My First Elmo is such a great toy. It's soft and adorable, and the "baby" version is one that toddlers love. This one was a huge hit. There was much fascination about this Elmo having his own diaper and when Elmo might be ready to give up his diaper, too. It's perfect for a 2-3 year old who is so aware of babies transitioning into various stages of independence. Lovely toy, much beloved.

This is a Super Pal for kids. I bought this for my grandson. He already had one and I got this one to change out with the other one. He loves them! They are hard to find. He now has the Cookie Monster too.
