Baby Einstein Around the World Soother

We've been using this soother for a couple weeks now and our daughter seems to enjoy it. It definitely helps her to fall asleep. Even so, I'm giving it just 3 stars out of 5: minus 1 for the volume control, and minus 1 for the short rail straps. There are just two volume settings, both of which are kinda loud; they should have instead included a volume knob to allow you to adjust the sound more precisely. As for the rail straps, the geniuses at Baby Einstein apparently think everyone has a cheap crib with skinny rails. To the contrary, just about all the popular convertible cribs sold these days have thicker railings, too think for this soother. We had to mount it to our crib sideways just to get it to fit (see attached video).

This thing stinks! The straps are too short as previous poster said. It plays a chinese type music, which would be fine, but I figured it would be mozart or something baby einsteinish. Nope. No volume control. It is tooo loud. No option to mute the music. The remote needs something soft on the back so it doesn't bang on the door from the hanger. Returning this asap.

Like most baby products, the volume controls stink.

The straps are way to short, and difficult to get off.

Ours we've had for about a year. We don't use it very often though. Maybe once a week or every other week.

The sound STOPPED WORKING. I'm an IT guy so I troubleshoot everything. It just doesn't play sound anymore. So this will be tossed into my e-waste bin because without the sound this product isn't worth keeping.

This product is great. Our son loves it and falls asleep to it every time. However, there is one downside that made me give it 4 stars instead of 5 and that's the batteries. Do yourself a favor and just change the batteries every three weeks to save yourself trouble.

Imagine putting your 7 month old down for bed. You turn his screen on and leave the room. He starts crying, harder and harder. This isn't normal. You go in, the screens off, you turn it back on. He quiets down and you leave the room. Twenty seconds later he starts crying again. You go back in and the screen is off AGAIN. Dang, the batteries are dying and you have one of three options. 1) leave him and hope he can get himself to sleep without the screen 2) stand with the door cracked and hit the button on the remote every time it shuts off which is about every 15-20 seconds 3) take him out of bed, completely ruin your bedtime routine, take down the screen which is not an easy feat, find a screwdriver, undo the back to get the batteries out, hope to God you have C batteries because who has THOSE lying around the house, replace the batteries, screw the back on and remount it on the crib. Again, not easy. Put the baby back to bed and hope you didn't just screw everything up for the night.

Other than THAT it's great.

Rio 9" Blue Macaw Stuffed Toy Plush Doll - Blu

My son LOVES everything RIO so I was thrilled to find a stuffed toy...even though it was $17 some bucks. As soon as I opened the box, the poor quality was evident. The wings and eyes weren't symmetrical...one wing was actually quite larger than the other. But I figured he's a kid and he won't care. Then, I noticed the poor stitching up the back...I hoped it was just cosmetic again and cut the tags and gave it to him. Within two days of snuggling, threads are coming out and there's actually a hole in the back. So sad...not sure what to do. Also, I realize this might not be a big deal to some, but the toy really looks nothing like Blue or Jewel. The photo is deceptive with the eyes and smiling, hooked beak... :o/ I hope there's a better stuffed out there!

I ordered this for my almost-two-year old daughter, who's absolutely obsessed with the movie. I don't think she even recognized the toy as being Blu and really, its eyes are rather crazy-looking, you can't move the wings and the feet are flimsy, I can't blame her. For $16-$17, I expected it to look a lot more like Blu. She doesn't even go near it.

I bought this turtle for my daughter for Christmas because she just started saying the word "turtle" and she really likes it. He's kinda small, but very cute. Her grandparents were visiting us and they were in the backseat with my daughter and this turtle, and he suddenly became "up" "down" turtle, he would hover up near the ceiling and then crash down to the floor! Now my daughter says "up" when she sees the turtle sometimes.

He is quality made, feels soft with just a slight rattle of a few beans in the back of him but mostly stuffing, and he is very cute. This is a small turtle, I would recommend from baby age to about 18 months old.

I ordered this for my mom because she loves turtles and giraffes. This was 2 in 1. Its a little smaller than I expected and it was quite expensive to ship. I paid as much to ship it as I did to buy it. Overall a pleasant fast experience but next time I will be sure to double check shipping costs.

Haba Miniland Fabric Ball

My 6-month-old positively loves this toy, and has for the two months it's been in the house. It is very durable and hasn't fallen apart or exploded despite lots of throwing and chewing, though I would be too scared to put it in the washing machine. It cleans up very well just with a little antibacterial soap and water and left to air-dry, even after getting puke on it. Only thing is that the choice of colors for the road and ground and water are a bit weird, but who knows maybe grass really is periwinkle in Germany. I've never been there so I couldn't say.

Got this for my Son for Christmas. He likes to chew on the little buildings and trees.

I don't know about him, but I like the little chimes inside.

We bought this for our baby when he was three months old, and right from the beginning he loved this ball. The trees, houses, etc. sticking out all over its surface make it great for very young babies who are just learning to hold onto toys. Its soft and light materials made it perfect for him because he sometimes whacked himself in the face, but it didn't hurt. Now he's eight months old and he still loves it. He mostly chews on the houses and trees or waves the ball around. I also love that it's interesting to look at. So many balls out there are just boring plastic; this one feels well-made, is more colorful and full of interesting details.

I just recieved the item today, but I like it already. It is a good size (not to big) ball with many houses, a duck, a car, trees and other things sewn on it. I accidentally ordered this product while purchasing some other toys on Amazon for my 9-month old. When I found out that I had unintentionally paid eighteen dollars for a toy that we didn't want in the first place, I was pretty annoyed. This has turned out to be a sturdy ball though. The stitching is reliable and the ball makes a nice sound. However, I feel that one would only pay this much for a fabric ball if they were buying more so for the label. This ball is relatively small so I feel that ten dollars would be a far more reasonable price. It's easy for babies to grasp though which is certainly a positive.

My son loves this toy. He likes to roll it back and forth then look at the balls inside through one of the two windows. He also gets a good laugh when we play peek a boo through the two windows. The balls inside jingle enough to get his attention but not so loud that they would be annoying.And there is a little music button but it is hard to push and he is more interested in the balls inside anyways.

A friend of ours bought this for our son who is eight months old now. I just ordered our third one. He LOVES to crawl after it and play with it. It truly is one of his favorite toys. However, if you are too rough (which doesn't take much) with them, they seem to start loosing air. So, it is definitely a winner for my son, but loser because it seems to break easily. One of my twins was delayed about 18 months and still not speaking at 3 and a half. He does play with this toy constantly. Recently he was using this toy with the Shapes, Alphabets, Numbers and pictures of Objects and it speaks to you in multiple facets. It explains the visuals mentioned earlier and another category will test him. While testing the voice will then convey to him if he has the correct answer by saying "Well done" or "Perfect" or "Good Job" then reaffirm to him his correct choice by describing the visual. If he chooses the wrong answer he will hear her offer to "try again", only once, then give him the answer if it's an incorrect choice. The voice will ask the user to press the correct Shape, Alphabet, Number or pictures of objects Randomly!

Well this afternoon I was at my desk working when I realized I was hearing, in succession, "Well done" or "Perfect" or "Good Job" and it prompted me to go see what he was really doing. I ended up sitting down with him and the toy marveling at what he was accomplishing. He didn't miss one answer! Without any help from us he has learned 4 basic Shapes, the entire Alphabet, Numbers up to ten and 26 pictures of objects totaling 66 items! Remember it is random. For the shapes it will show a tree and ask what shape is it and he answered correctly; a triangle. Heck, I couldn't figure out the shape of a leaf fast enough....it's a heart. When asking for numbers it does not show the number until he has entered it. Although I was reaffirming myself with excitement for him the boy was totally nonchalant about the exercise, as if there was nothing to it.

His brother, who is not delayed cannot complete this test.

The costume is true to size but also leaves plenty of room for a long sleeve shirt, pants, etc. My 7 month old son doesn't like to overdress (he doesn't like hats, bulky sweatshirts, etc.) but I tell you, when I put this costume on him he laughed and crawled about, not letting me get my hands on him to take it off! I, eh hemweLOVE this costume!

I love it, it's cute and my baby looks 100% edible in this costume but I went to Party City one month after I got it on Amazon and it was only $20,Now I can't return it because I don't have the bag anymore (silly me) but I'm giving three stars for the fact that I don't know how the heck this is so expensive here! My almost two-year old daughter has this doll and has recently really started enjoying it. She brushes Natalie's hair, puts her 'night-night', and helps 'change' her. We also got a feeding set and she likes giving Natalie a bottle. The doll is a good size for her to carry around, and overall it's been a successful purchase.

I bought this doll for my 5.5 year old. She loves being a "mommy" to her babies and playing with her mylittleponys' and barbies' hair, so I wanted a toy that would combine the two. I spend hours searching for the right doll--it was a challenge finding a doll with "just enough" hair that was still a "baby," with hair that would not become too matted/tangled, that was portable, whose eyes closed on laying down (she has blond "hair" eye lashes), and soft enough to hug.

My daughter is very happy with Natalie. Natalie looks cuter in person than online. She does have that baby powder/plastic-y smell but it wasn't as bad as I'd read in reviews and it is not as strong after a few days out of the box. My only complaint is that she is so small; it would be nice if she were closer to 16." If you part her hair you will see her "scalp" (which I knew prior to purchase) but my daughter doesn't care. We are both happy with this doll.

I bought this doll for my daughter because she like to rub hair while sucking her thumb. Shes only 10 monthes old and the toy is aged 18 monthes plus. I thourghly checked it over before giving it too her and found no loose parts she may choke on. The plus is, its great for babies. The negative is, I bought the doll for her to rub the hair but the hair is maybe 3" or 4" long. Hard for her to grasp onto. When she is able to hold onto it she sleeps like a baby =). The smell just smells like a baby doll. Nothing bad just that fabric softner/plasticy smell baby dolls smell like. Over all I would buy this again for the price just wish the hair was a bit longer. It seems very durable and none of the hair has been pulled out which is another plus.

I purchased this doll after the first one was put on backorder. I am so glad we got this one! She is the perfect size for my 3 year old and she loves to give her the binky that came with her and she loves to put her to bed!! Radio Flyer Soft Rock and Bounce Pony with Sound

I got this for my 1-yr-old, who cried every time we put her on it. We put it in a corner and let it sit there quietly for a few months to see if she might grow into it. Around 16 months, she ventured onto it again, and she absolutely loved it! She laughs while she rocks and rocks. At 21 months now, she puts a tutu over her head and pretends she's got a cape on, and it flies while she rides. It's a hoot.

The box said for ages 1-3, and I would say that means for ages 1 and 2. My 3-yr-old is petite, but too large for the horse.

Also, the design is very stable, but my little one flipped it backwards a couple times. She's awfully vigorous, though, so I wouldn't think that happens for most kids.

Bought for my grandson. My husband and I were able to put together. I like that it is a bouncer as well as a rocker.

My 18 month old loves this horse. He did not ride it at first when I purchased it for his first birthday. I think the noises kinda had him freaked out a little but he soon overcame that and just loves to bounce and rock. I have to take him off of it. You must have GOOD batteries for this toy. I recommend buying rechargeable ones. This toy is also motion sensitive. You can walk by it and makes noise. Doesnt even have to be touched.

My daughter lovers her rocking horse. She plays on it all the time. The only thing I don't like about it is how hard it is to rock on carpet. It may be the rug it is on but I found it much easier to rock on a hard surface, like tile.

LeapFrog Roll & Rhyme Learning Lion

My baby got several talking animals for her birthday and was so terrified of them that they got put in the closet. From the minute this lion got out of the box she has LOVED it. She spins the tunny thing and laughs and dances with her lion. And the music it plays is not obnoxious like many other talking/singing toys. I do not mind it playing over and over again! When she is upset, I search for her little lion to calm her down.

This toy was a lot smaller than I expected, but my son loved it from the moment he opened it up. The nighttime song it so cute, but I wish it played for a while longer. It lights up as well. This is a great crib toy, because it won't just go off in the middle of the night and wake up baby but it's always their when baby needs him. Well worth the money even though it is small.

My 18 month old son has loved this ever since he was about 4 months old. He could even spin the "belly" then. It's easy. The songs are cute and kept him entertained in his crib until he fell asleep. He likes playing with it outside of his crib as well. This is money well spent.

My four-month-old daughter received the LeapFrog Roll & Rhyme Learning Lion for Christmas and she loves it. The tummy is very easy for her to spin and the songs engage her attention. I like that I can switch it into nightlight mode to get a break from the somewhat loud and mildly annoying songs. It is small enough to be very portable. I do think, however, that once the novelty wore off, this toy would bore a toddler.

I remember that when I was a kid, my father bought me one of those and I was fascinated by how it moves, etc. However, this one is extremely fragile look and bulky. It is not a cute toy, but a cheaply made stuff.

Manhattan Toy Natural Rattle

I don't like how this smells it smells like some sort of paint/finish. It's supposed to be non-toxic so it probably is but since my son "plays" primarily by tasting, sucking, chewing and biting it doesn't make me feel like it's the best for him. It's not the manufacturer's fault it does say naturally finished somehow I though that meant unfinished but the two are not the same. I'm keeping it for when he's older and will enjoy manipulating the beads without having the compulsion to taste them and the thought of me sucking on it is gross so I won't let him do it either.

Update: It no longer smells but I can't say my son has loved the toy either. I still think it's neat but maybe it's better in the hands of an older kid as something to fiddle with.

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Counting Friends Phone

My child received this toy as gift. As other reviewers pointed out, the phone cord is too short, which most of us assume is due to strangulation concerns. (So why did they bother to put one?) One parent reviewer said she cut the cord which makes it more like a cordless house phone. I may do this, though we'll have to attempt to keep up with it, at least she can use it.

The pull-toy string has nothing on the end to keep it from fraying. Could they have tied off the end without putting small parts? I don't know. I tied a knot at the end to see if that helps. It seems strange to have a phone as a pull-toy, anyway, and it does nothing to motivate you pull it (no music, no flapping or moving parts like other pull toys.) I tried pulling it with my one-year-old, but it bored her quickly. She does like the plastic flip cards at the top, which sing when you change them, and she likes pushing the buttons. I would not recommend this toy as a pull toy or toy phone. You can find much better ones for your money.

My 12 Month old received this as a Christmas gift and was very excited to use it. The problem is that everytime he tried to put the handset to his ear, the whole phone had to come along with it....the cord is too short.

I understand that longer cords can be choking hazards, yet it has a VERY long cord that is attached to the front to be used to pull the phone along the floor. My child has never attempted to pull that cord (yet) and doesn't even pay attention to it. He wants to pick up the handset and put it to his ear.

So.....I cut the cord off the handset so it's free standing now and he loves it. Just have to watch to make sure it doesn't get lost. :)

Ok...Well I must first say that I only paid $4.00 for this at a children's consignment shop...and good thing b/c to me-thats all it's worth! I really didnt notice it at first glace that there is no zero...and that as another reviewer said,the phone cord is ridiculously short!! Upon getting the toy home & giving it to my son to play with,he goes to grab the phone & the entire toy FLINGS into the air & almost Bops him in the head b/c the darn cord is SO short. FP could have easily made the cord retractable(???) 3 stars is more than generous.

After reading some of the other reviews, I was a little hesitant to purchase this. It has surprisingly worked very well and holds lots of toys. I have not had any problems with it coming off the shower wall and the suction works great.

I saw this featured in a magazine and thought it was a great idea. It is, but the suctions don't work very well. Especially when my son is trying to take toys out during his bath, the thing keeps falling on him. I think it makes it worse because the bath walls are wet from the moisture.

This cute, colorful fish helps keep the bathtub from being cluttered with toys and allows them to air-dry quickly! LeapFrog LeapStart Learning Table

This table was fantastic for our family and is VERY sturdy and doesn't tip and held up very well for 4 years of children use. Well worth the money, especially when compared to the newer model. One of the least annoying electronic toys we have.

My daughter absolutely loves this table! I am very pleased with it myself. Mine has green legs instead of the blue shown in the picture but otherwise is exactly the same. Not only does it have multiple stations for her to play at, it has the book in the center so you can switch from numbers and letters to music. All the bright colors really interest her and she loves to "play" the piano. She is just learning to stand and walk so does alot of pulling on one side and it has never even threatened to tip. I am incredibly happy with this as it's sturdiness has saved many possible tears. I cannot say enough positive things about this. It even has the ability to switch to Spanish, which we havent done much of, but as she learns we will probably do every so often. I highly recommend this table!!!

I like this toy quite a bit. Just wish my 1 year old liked it as much as I do. I have the older version like what is pictured.

Pros-

It's sturdy, does not topple over easily when child pulls up on it

Low enough profile that they can stand and play

Legs come off so they can sit and play

Multiple modes of play, with or without it being on

Very colorful

Can buy a bilingual version (which I didn't know until today)

Cons-

The book has paper pictures on it so when you clean like the germ freak I am, it will eventually rub off

The purple lid often comes off

The shapes get stuck sometimes (of course mine is older and has had a lot of use so may be just age)

I really like that you don't have to have it on to use most of the features....great when you have a headache (as a mom of 5 boys, I get them often). I also really like that the legs come off so I could use it when he was younger. I have only seen my little one topple it once because he was sitting and really pulling it up on two legs. He was pulling hard too.

Overall, I think it's a great toy. Not crazy about some of the prices on Amazon but you can find it cheaper elsewhere. Even then, it's still pricey but if you pass things down as we do, not horrible. I've seen worse.

Very nice toy for babies and toddlers to explore musical and other sounds. We worried because we dislike electronically produced sounds playing constantly, but this was really manageable. Also, you can adjust the volume. Our son loved playing with it and we were glad to have it.

My Granddaughter loves this, pays with it for hours at a time. She isn't even a year old yet, so before she could stand she would sit and play with it, (the legs are removable).
