My son is 9 month old, and he got this toy for Christmas 4 weeks ago. Very simply made, so when i opened it i wasn't too impressed. And now i know, It's a must have! He wakes up at 6am and this is the only toy we play with for about an hour in his room on the floor. He can't put the shapes back into the slots, but he is really trying. Taking them out, after I put them in, is the most fun ever!!!! He loves to chew on them too. Great toy! Get it! You will love it as much as your little one!

Chicco Toys DJ Guitar

Like chicco's other toys, this one is of very good quality too. It is very sturdy and very colorfull. We bought this toy a few days ago and this is really a great toy. It works great and has super cute sounds. It has 20+ prerecorded melodies and is endless fun for little ones. Compared to other guitars out there it has more melodies and functions than any other you can find on the market. Fabulous toy for a great price too.

We bought this little musical "guitar" when my son was 4 months old. He was slightly unsure of it at 4 months, but by 5 months, he really enjoyed trying to hit the buttons or having us activate the music for him. At 15 months we use it to calm him down in moments of toddler melt down. I keep looking for other little electronic guitars for him, but nothing I find seems like it would serve any better than this little toy, I'm glad we purchased it.

Chicco Toys (an Italian company) puts tons of R&D into the musical aspect of their toys (you don't see this from other companies), so I'll have to explain this toy:

1. Musical styles: Chicco says that these styles are: Rock, Pop and Blues. I have to disagree, to me they seem to be: Country-ish Rock, Country-ish Pop; 3. Sort-of Blues. In any case, the styles are still entertaining in their own right, at least they aren't public-domain standard-hear-everywhere -farmer-in-the-dell music. You won't recognize these tunes from anywhere, which is why they don't get repetitive the way other toys do. They don't bother me due to the variety of them, and I don't particularly listen to country (or rock or blues, I listen to Elmo....another story.....). The musical styles are controlled on a dial with these three settings.

2. Play Modes: There are three play modes, controlled on a dial with three settings

2.1 Short tunes: Press a button, guitar plays a short threesecond tune. My son likes this mode.

2.2 Long tunes ("pre-recorded"): Press a button, guitar plays about an 22 second tune. If you press any of the buttons during the tune, the animal sound on that respective button sounds. My son likes this mode as well.

2.3 "Follow me": Random button flashes, baby is expected to press the flashing button to hear music. If you press any other non-flashing button, nothing happens. At 15 months, my son still doesn't seem to be too interested in this one, it's definitely on the more advanced side.

3. Mixer functions: They add add sound and activate the lights on the "fretboard" buttons:

3.1 The drums button lets you hit a snare drum sound, it's ok, you can amuse the baby with this, or it can be used to help the baby learn to press a button, it's oversized.

3.2 The Whammy Bar adds in a whammy bar guitar squeal.

3.3 A blue spinner ball that the baby can spin to either accelerate or decelarate the music (only functional in the Long Mode play mode). The baby figured this one out quite quickly, by 6 months at least. The baby sitters all figure this out too, so it's quite intuitive.

4. Other functionality:

4.1 Strum button (like where you would strum the guitar, it's the yellow button you see in the image like where strings should be), and it plays its own little musical segment. But it interrupts the main ongoing music, which doesn't resume afterwards.

4.2 Animal sounds: When you are in Long music, "Pre-recorded melodies" setting (lower left, second dial over), then this allows you to keep presssing the keys on the fretboard and play the animal sounds while the music plays (similar to the Chicco walker). This doesn't work in "Short Tunes" mode, or in the "Follow-me" game (limited to the key being activated at that time). These animal sounds are the same sounds as on the Chicco DJ Walker, for anyone familiar with that toy, so Dog, Chick, Cat, Pig, and Frog sounds.

4.3 Volume: There is a dial with "Off" (turns toy off),"low" and "high". Low is happily decently low (that's what we use), and "high" still isn't super loud, so all I can say is yay.

4.4 Battery use: Toy is very good on battery use, I've only replaced the batteries once in the last year since we've purchased it.

Note: "Ghost in the machine": I'd recommend turning the guitar off at night, in my experience it can activate on its own, even when not super low on batteries (apparently this is common in children's toys electronics). Not great to go out and detect in the middle of the night.

In summary, we're very happy with this toy, it's lots of fun and the variety of tunes means that they aren't repetitive.

Overall, this is a good buy. I purchased this guitar for my 1 year old nephew so that he would stop trying to play with his uncle's Guitar Hero and it worked.

There's really not much for a child to do with this but listen to the different tunes. If that works for your child it does a great job. If you want your child to learn from it I don't think it does much there.

I bought this toy for my son which is our third child. Trust me there are enough toys in the house already (many of them girl toys from his sister) but I still thought it was worth it! As a special education teacher of young children, I regularly use the basics (ring stackers, shape sorters, balls, books, blocks) as they have undeniable educational value. I felt this toy was a great addition to my collection as it offers so many opportunities to talk and interact with a child while teaching basic concepts and language skills. You can match the the bugs to the outside flower color or to the color on the inside base of the flower. Great put and take play but so much more so than with a bucker that gets filled and dumped with this toy, you develop vocabulary and science skills with dumping, dropping, rolling, jiggling (and flinging off the flower) and most of all peek-a-boo with hiding the bugs under the leaf that flips up. If your kids aren't the type who put the pieces all back with the toy and place it carefully on the toy shelf, you can always substitute another small toy in place of the bugs until they turn up. Watching a child play with this offers ways to interact with them hiding and finding the bugs teaches problem solving and memory. Sometimes toys are hard for me to talk about as we play driving toy cars around, for instance, or trains on a track, I get kind of stumped, but with this kind of toy I can keep talking uh-oh, where did it go? there it is, get it! good job! Sometimes you don't realize that kids are learning unless you really look, and then you realize they become frustrated trying to hold three bugs because they only have two hands and have not yet figured out what to do about that. Or they are trying to hold three bugs AND lift up the leaf to hide one of them, and again they are short an extra hand. This too is learning and problem solving! I don't have much use for so-called educational toys that require the child to press buttons and practice the alphabet, for example. It's nice but it doesn't replace interacting with objects, and even more important, with people! So choose a toy like this instead (and sit on the floor and play with them!)

I bought this for my 8-month-old daughter. She loves to have a "buggie" in the flower pot and make it swing back and forth. And, of course, she is teething, so she likes to chew on the plastic bugs (which are way too big to be a choking hazard)! I can see that as she gets older, she will be able to play with it more. My 2-year-old son thinks it's pretty fun, too!

This Lil Jiggle Garden looked so cute so I just had to get it for my daughter. I learned pretty fast that the entertainment is short lived with this toy. There are the 3 flower balls to play with but not much else. On the bright side, it is small and does not take up too much space. Haba Miniland Fabric Ball

My 6-month-old positively loves this toy, and has for the two months it's been in the house. It is very durable and hasn't fallen apart or exploded despite lots of throwing and chewing, though I would be too scared to put it in the washing machine. It cleans up very well just with a little antibacterial soap and water and left to air-dry, even after getting puke on it. Only thing is that the choice of colors for the road and ground and water are a bit weird, but who knows maybe grass really is periwinkle in Germany. I've never been there so I couldn't say.

Got this for my Son for Christmas. He likes to chew on the little buildings and trees.

I don't know about him, but I like the little chimes inside.

We bought this for our baby when he was three months old, and right from the beginning he loved this ball. The trees, houses, etc. sticking out all over its surface make it great for very young babies who are just learning to hold onto toys. Its soft and light materials made it perfect for him because he sometimes whacked himself in the face, but it didn't hurt. Now he's eight months old and he still loves it. He mostly chews on the houses and trees or waves the ball around. I also love that it's interesting to look at. So many balls out there are just boring plastic; this one feels well-made, is more colorful and full of interesting details.

I just recieved the item today, but I like it already. It is a good size (not to big) ball with many houses, a duck, a car, trees and other things sewn on it. I accidentally ordered this product while purchasing some other toys on Amazon for my 9-month old. When I found out that I had unintentionally paid eighteen dollars for a toy that we didn't want in the first place, I was pretty annoyed. This has turned out to be a sturdy ball though. The stitching is reliable and the ball makes a nice sound. However, I feel that one would only pay this much for a fabric ball if they were buying more so for the label. This ball is relatively small so I feel that ten dollars would be a far more reasonable price. It's easy for babies to grasp though which is certainly a positive.

Large ABC Blocks by Schylling

There seem to be several toys of this nature with varying size blocks. Some of them are really small too and the pictures are somewhat deceptive in depicting the size. This toy, though it says large blocks, is composed of 48 one and three-fourth inch wooden cubes. The cubes are robustly built and light. Box is solidly built. My child likes the cubes and also uses the box as a stepping stool sometimes. I think it will last a long time. I'm satisfied with this purchase.

My daughter loves playing with these. She stacks them and tries to identify the colors and letters. These blocks are much bigger than the typical 1" blocks you'll find in typical stores, which makes them better for stacking and grasping. The only minor downside is the wood is a little soft, meaning they can get dinged rather easily, but overall, they're great.

I like the clear, modern graphics on these blocks. On the downside, the blocks are soft and have a few internal (not edge) cracks. They won't be heirlooms, but they are perfectly adequate for banging around and stacking by my one-year-old.

Sassy 602 - Teething Wing Butterfly

My son started teething early (3 months) and he was not yet able to control his movements enough to chew on teething objects. He was however able to grab things and this butterfly was so easy for him to pick up. The one wing is like a handle and it easy for him to move and light enough for him to get to his mouth. As the days go by he is finally able to chew on it for a few seconds before he loses the control. He is still unable or uninterested in doing this with any other teething toy. Plus he somehow finds the butterfly entertaining. A+ for a young teether.

Baby couldn't hold this until she was bigger and her grip improved. Once she could hold it, she loved it. She gnaws on both sides regardless. She likes the colors and shape also. The color does come off though, which isn't so good.

I bought two of these because the twins were just starting to get first teeth. We put them in the refrigerator, and then gave them to the babies (two identical girls, by the way, and the cutest ever). They LOVED them! They chewed away for hours. We bought this for our nursery. Although the baby hasn't arrived yet I've used it while grading papers (using the snake table). It was cool because I could switch which way I wanted to sit. Also my little brother who has sensory integration dysfunction uses this every time he comes over to rock while he watches movies or while we read to him. I hoped that my grandsons...aged 4 and 1...would love these. They love animals. They are active little boys so I was hoping they would love the ability to climb, crawl, and jump. The 4 yr. old created obstacle courses with this elephant and the other animals I ordered for them. My 1 yr. old took the 3 layered fish and promptly sat on it, then started rolling it around the room. Before the evening was over, he was standing on it. Both boys crawled over the animals, rearranged them, then crawled all over again. All the adults in the room wished we could do the same. They are strong enough for adults to sit on the sides. One relative wasn't surprised when she heard they were made in Denmark. She said the Danes are noted for having a unique sense of function and beauty.

I guess I am going to be a grandma who spoils her grandsons, but I can see years of joyful, creative play with these products. I can't wait until more of the animals types shown on the Danish web site arrive in America.

After receiving two or three as gifts when my daughter was born, this is now my goto gift. Great Product! These are a TON safer than any other teething keys out there. I have purchased these along with the soother and stacking cups. I am very impressed with the product! My child is only 4 months old and teething and this is so far his favorite thing to chew on. UPDATE-Child is 10 months old and still chews on these and they have held up even with 8 teeth now!!!

I would not recommend this product because as our 6 month old son chews on this teether (the whole point of the product), pieces of the material come off. I respect the intention of this company and product in trying to be green so please improve this part as this is the most important.

We replaced some other plastic keys with these because we weren't sure that the ones we had were safe. To our surprise, our 6 month old baby much preferred these. The other ones were all one hard material while these have a softer chewier part at the tips of the keys that our baby loves to chew on. Not sure that they really ease his teething pain, but they are now one of his favorite toys.

I got the Ring Cool Soother Teether, Teether Keys, and Infinity Teether. Notice a pattern here? Yes, we are knee deep into teething season around here. Enesco Christmas Storytime 17" Bear Gund Fun

This bear is not what I expected it to be. It did not say in the description that it was a recordable storytime bear. When I follow the directions on the tag, the same thing comes out of the bears mputh. It recites the night before christmas but the name Jamie is repeated. The story goes so far and then it stops. I cannot put in another name like it says I can do on the tag. It is a cute bear to look at but that is it!

Many years ago, Avon sold a bear that read "The Night Before Christmas" and I bought one for all my then grandchildren. Well, we added a new grandchild and this was the bear I found and it is delightful.

Dandelion Plush Toy

This is just a layman's review but we really love the blue bear. We bought both the lion and the bear to compare. The lion was cute but a little too shiny and not as cute as the bear, so we returned it. The bear is also a little shiny and really adorable. The nose is a little oversized, so it gives his face a little more personality than a regular teddy bear. It's the perfect size for a 7 month old to hold and cuddle, and he likes to stroke its shiny, soft "fur."

The bear had some weights in his butt so that he could sit sort of upright (feels like little pellets, like the inside of a beanbag). After a spin in the washer and dryer, he came out looking perfectly fine, but the pellets all shifted over to the right side of his butt. He doesn't look lopsided, but he tends to slump over to that side and he feels a little lumpy there (aren't we all though?).

Still, this is a great organic plush toy for baby, and we and baby love it.

I like that this toy is safe enough for my baby to gnaw on and sleep with. She's had it since she was 5 months old...she's 16-months now. It doesn't really look like a lion, and she's not crazy about it, but it's joined her crib as one of the buddies she likes in there when she goes to bed. I like that it's easy to clean (I just toss it in the wash with her clothes, and into the dryer). It's held up pretty well. It just doesn't look like a lion, that's all.

We bought the giraffe for our 6 months old baby. She loves to chew and taste everything. The giraffe is supper cute and she likes it right away. It is easy to just throw in the washer and dryer with her clothes. The only thing we dislike about it is that now after 2-3 months the fur fabric is peeling/loosing out after the baby chewed and bit it. We are now reluctant to give it to our daughter knowing she might eat those loose fabric.

While this item came in a timely manner. While it was super soft & I loved that it was all natural & machine washable (These are MAJOR pluses!) The Lorax

This little guy looks more like the Lorax in real life than in the photo, he is so cute! He is no bigger than your hand, so don't lose him. Mustache can be poofed to shape in any direction, he's soft and cuddly, but just really tiny. I would say four to six inches in height.

When we first got this toy, my daughter was 8 months old. She figured out how to use it right away and played with it all the time. It's been two months and the toy is broken. The sounds that play do not correspond to the activity taking place. For example, when she pops a door open it will say "Good Bye" and when she pops open the circle it will say "rectangle". I no longer have the receipt for this toy, so I doubt I could get a refund. I'm really disappointed because she loved this toy at first. She's not that interested in it now that I keep the volume turned off.

My daughter has played with this toy since she was 7 months old. She is now 12 months and loves to hear the characters speak and sing. It is not too loud, which can be a huge problem with electronic toys, and has stood the test of a 3 year old.

I bought this for my daycare kids about 4 months ago. The kids love it. It sings the alphabet as says shapes and more. It very cute. It's not too loud. It's a greeat teaching tool.

Sesame Street Small Plush

I happen to be a 'big kid,' that is, someone who bought this for the sake of adding to my collection of items that remind me of my childhood when I'm feeling blue (and feeling perhaps bluer than Cookie Monster himself.) I can tell you that this plush delivers.

It is extremely soft, which Gund toys are always famous for. It is of the feel of a bean bag, sort of cuddly and indeed under-stuffed in areas to make it that way, with some beans or whatever in the tush. The material is outstanding, sort of shaggy like we know of this character. It is not like other ones I have seen, where the fur lies close to the body. It's more keeping to the Cookie we see on TV. The colour is an exceptional one of bright blue. The eyes give the illusion of those famous google-eyes we all grew up seeing, one up, one sort of tilted down. The mouth is great, because it is partly open, like when Cookie speaks. This toy would probably be great for little 'cookie-parties' with your child. I can see a youngster giving a little cloth or plastic 'cookie' to him, and this is possible with that open mouth.

The arms are great, because when positioned in just such a way, they sort of fold around your shoulder when you hold him. They are the lightest part of the design, I think, for that reason. A great thing for a child to hold.

Overall, this is a fantastic item. I smile to think of the simple joys it will bring to children who receive it. For me, it does well to remind me of my own childhood years of relishing Sesame Street and this unforgettable character.

I bought this for my 27yr old fiance who loves the count. it was delivered quickly and absolutely in perfect condition. He loves it! And it is very durable, I've caught him sleeping with it a few times on the couch. Overall a fantastic buy and a great gift for any age.

Let me say my 2 year old adores this product. She thinks it is the cutest thing she has ever seen. By looks I give this a 10. Durability and craftsmanship get a 2. We own about 10 other Sesame Street toys and this one fell apart faster than any other and even our other abby dolls. We owned this exactly 5 days before a wing fell off. Then we lost a piece of the skirt. After 4 months she has 1 wing and is missing 3 pieces of the skirt and the bottom of the wand. Her hair is falling apart and she looks like a hot mess. We paid $24 for this and it is worth about $5. If your child plans on playing with her toys don't bother with this one. I had to buy two in one year and they both look like trash.

My son is a Bert and Ernie fan, and he loves this Bert plush toy. He's had fun pushing this and an Ernie plush around in his cars and shopping cart. This toy is very nice and very nicely made. I recommend it for any child who loves Bert and Ernie!

This is very well made and so cute. Oscar's can even has a little handle on top that my son uses to carry him around. It is not quiet as soft and cuddly as the other characters in the collection (due to the texture of the fabric on the can), but the collection wouldn't be complete with out him. I highly recommend this product.
