My 8 month old daughter loves this toy!!!! She likes the giraffes because they pop up and down. She also likes the rings, they have beads inside that shake, and little tags on one of them that she can chew on. She especially loves to chew on their ears! Haha. She has NO trouble putting the rings on or taking the rings off. I will certainly buy this as a gift for others if the occassion arrives!

As any typical grandmother I purchased this toy long before Grace is actually old enough to truly play with it. However, even at this age, she loves having one of the rings placed on her arm so she can bang it around and hear the rattle. This is reminscent of the stacking rings I played with as a child, but the rings here are stiffer and while she can chew on them, they won't puncture or become torn. Awesome design and the giraffes are really cute!

Cons: My 10-month old was doing a great job putting the post in the center of the ring but couldn't stack them because the rings get stuck on the ears of the giraffes. It takes a good bit of effort to push the rings past the ears. A baby just won't do it. So I cut them off and now it works well. The peek-a-boo feature is pointless. The distance that the giraffes "pop up" is so tiny the baby doesn't notice or care.

Pros: The rings can stack in any order. Baby isn't frustrated because they put the small ring on first and can't stack any more like the fisher price version. Also, the two posts are fun because he can put all the rings on one post then unstack them onto the other over...and over... and over. Another pro...the toy makes no noise and takes no batteries. It is also great that the rings make noises when you shake them and have things inside like a peek-a-block would.

Overall not bad, but you have to mutilate the giraffe's ears first and they look kinda sad now.

I got this for my 9 month old, thinking it would be a nice diversion from the traditional rock-n-stack; however, she's not thrilled with it and I'm thinking of getting the rock-n-stack anyway. We didn't have the problem described with the giraffe's ears, but the rings are kind of heavy for her (she's got some disabilities though, so it could just be her), and the colors aren't very engaging. It's a very cute toy, it just doesn't get a ton of play time in our house.

I bought this doll as a Christmas gift for my 5 year old who had requested an American Girl baby "with brown skin". The price for this doll was much more realistic! My daughter absolutely adores this doll. The doll is very cuddly and has a nice light powder scent. Her features are much cuter than many of the others I looked at, she is the perfect size, and it appears that she will be easily washable, although we have not had to do that yet. Excellent quality for a great price, and very lovable! I would highly recommend this option!

I love that the doll is soft so I don't have to worry about her hitting and hurting herself with it when she swings it around (which she does)also the hands and feet even though properly defined, are soft enough not to hurt her when she chews on them.(Her favourite chewing parts.) The doll is durable and I anticipate many more hours of enjoyment for its little owner as she gets older, and discovers new ways to play with it.

K's Kids Press and Go Inchworm Rattle

This is a really cute toy. I love that the sounds in the bead filled wheels ifs very gentle. Also when you let the toy go and it hits something, which it often does, it does not damage the surface not make a sound thanks to the soft plushy head of the caterpillar.

Loooooooove it, and my daughter plays with it often.

My only minor complaints are that the push down mechanism is not that easy for a baby to learn it does require pressure that a tiny hand just cannot figure out. So she plays with it as a rattle but I have to make it 'go'.

Also, the description suggests that the heads shakes. Well it doesn't shake on its own or during movement but you can rotate it manually.

I got this for my 17 month son. He loves it. It is a fun rattle, that he likes to shake, and I'm teaching him to press on it. Once pressed it rolls for a long time on the hardwood floors, but much shorter on the carpet. Also, I like the fact that it's not all plastic. The head and tail are made of soft material. I highly recommend it.

Tolo Toys Pop-Up Teddies

My now 1 year old loved this since he was 6 months. Its a very entertaining toy and my baby learned how to push the buttons to make the bears pop out but when he pushes the bear back down into the box, my baby's finger would get pinched by the little bear's red hat. And given that my baby would bang the bears back down, he would hurt himself pretty badly. So, I made it a point to supervise him while playing with it and then i found myself not allowing him to do it himself (kinda defeats the purpose). I don't know when I'll take this out of the closet and reintroduce to baby or how he might react to it when he's older. It did serve its purpose when i wanted to entertain my baby when he was younger but then it quickly got akward when I didn't allow him to play with it as much as I was.

The first reviewer was correct, this toy is dangerous. First of all, it makes a hideous, loud cracking noise every time you push the buttons to "pop-up" the teddies. My baby was frightened by the LOUD abrupt snapping/cracking noises. Secondly, fingers and skin will get pinched by the red hats. I would not recommend this to any child, at any age.

I bought this for my son who is three months. He loves it! The bright colors attract his attention, and he loves staring at and talking to his Giraffe. As he gets older, he will be able to pull the legs, arms, and head. I see him using this toy for a long time.

My daughter loves this toy. It is soft and has a friendly face. At this stage she especially enjoys the hoofs they are great to chew and make crinkly noises. The movable legs and neck are hilarious.

Plan Toys Planpreschool Twist N' Match

This is a great concept. Each block can be twisted in the middle so the heart shape twists into an oval, the triangle twists into a rectangle, etc. This provides a fun and challenging way to explore shapes. Even as an adult, it made me see shapes in a new unique way. The cardboard bases are double sides with a small groove to insert the shape pieces. My guess is that they will eventually tear with moderate use, so I would encourage gentle treatment. The blocks seem very sturdy though and the colors are vivid. My 19 month old was frustrated at first trying to twist the blocks but is starting to figure it out. She can insert the block in the groove but it is challenging to pick the right one and she wouldn't be able to twist the blocks to match them. This would be a great product for a family with an 18 month old and a 3 year old as both would enjoy it as it can be adapted for different developmental stages. At eleven bucks at yoyo, I thought it was a good deal. Until my baby grows into It, we will probably just play with twisting the blocks and "talking" about the different shapes and colors. This is a different, fun, and challenging puzzle game!

I bought this for an airplane trip to keep my 21 month old occupied and it worked pretty well. I think its clever how they twist to create different shapes for the puzzles, and it travels well as the blocks are really light and it comes with a little bag. She wasn't as enthralled as I'd hoped she'd be, but it was a good travel toy, we're saving it for our next trip, I think she'll grow into it.

The costume is true to size but also leaves plenty of room for a long sleeve shirt, pants, etc. My 7 month old son doesn't like to overdress (he doesn't like hats, bulky sweatshirts, etc.) but I tell you, when I put this costume on him he laughed and crawled about, not letting me get my hands on him to take it off! Pros:

This item was purchased for my son's 1st birthday by my sister. He loved it immediately as he loves music, and all the little animal noises are really cute. Unfortunately the sound effect button for the percussion noises (bottom left large orange button) didn't work and we couldn't hear any drum noises. I contactly Chicco via e-mail and with only a picture e-mailed to them of the item, they sent me a replacement. Too bad that the replacement also had a percussion button that could barely be heard, so I think it's a manufacturing problem. Now after 4 months of playing with it, I noticed that a couple noises on the joystick aren't working, even though the rest of the item is working (so ostensibly the batteries don't need to be changed). I'm assuming again this is a defect in the manufacturing, but other than that, the toy is great. Lots of great sounds, nice tunes and easy for baby to take from room to room. I'm looking at getting the Chicco guitar next!

My 1 year old and my 6 year old actually fight over this toy! They both love it and it has stayed a winner for the last 6 months. I would buy it again.

Santa got this for my 10-month-old daughter for Christmas. Her brother uses it more right now, though. He's six and it's not broken yet, so I'd say it's pretty durable.

My question is... is it really supposed to be a frog? That's what I thought first until I started paying more attention. The way it wobbles when it moves looks like a crab walking and the green things up top look like crab pincers. It's like Fisher Price bred a frog and a crab and out came this toy.

I give it one star for educational value I guess it takes a bit of thinking about the anatomy of frogs and crabs in order to figure out what it is.

My daughter got this as a gift at birth and it is her favorite toy. I have had not problems with quality. We bring it everywhere to entertain her.

I was very excited to put this toy in my daughter's stocking for Christmas. I thought it would be very intriguing with the colors, small mirrored nose and noise makers. My daughter rarely plays with it. The threading in between two of the strips came undone. I don't think it will affect the safety of the item, but for the price I paid, I expect a better quality.

I was so excited to buy the Phil Harmonic when I was still pregnant and the first stage is really soothing with beautiful music. And I still used it with my baby for the first few months. But then as the stages progressed the less soothing and interesting it became. To be honest the games in the fourth stage don't even make sense! It fact it's really annoying! Rather then let the child explore the sounds and music while pushing and sliding the buttons at a normal pace, the child hears "hit the lit button" over and over and over. Sad to say this one is collecting dust somewhere in my garage.

I bought this product for my granddaughter as she loves lights, sounds, music and shapes. I do not know how children of any age could learn how to use this toy because my daughter-in-law and I both had a very difficult time trying to figure it out. It seems like a great toy, and it does deliver with lights, sounds, and nice renditions of kids songs. It has a nice concept of growing with your child, too, offering new functionalities based on age.

Unfortunately, where it falls very short is the repetitive voice that says to press a button. Most other electronic toys have an automatic shut off, rather than use a voice to remind you to push a button over and over again. It's unfortunate, but it's a significant design flaw that's annoying to parents and kids. Ours is gathering dust.

For its high price, I cannot recommend this item.

I was into this toy more than my kids. I like the music selections for Stage 1. They are so soothing. Neither of my kids got into the games for the older stages (6-18 mo.). However my nephew who is 6 enjoys the older stage games where they build songs with silly sounds.

Tiny Love Frog Kick Mirror

I read such wonderful reviews of this mirror, that I couldn't wait to get it. My baby is only 2 1/2 months old right now, and I find this mirror an irritation. It takes 2 people to get the mirror placed so that the driver can see baby's face (one person in the back seat and the other in the driver seat). The smiley face on the frog takes up valuable space. When trying to get baby's face positioned in mirror, the smiley face frequently cuts straight through baby's face, making her facial expression impossible to see. Hubby and I worked for 20 minutes to adjust this mirror so that Baby's face was visible from the driver's seat. Once the baby's face is visible and the frog's smiley face is around the area of baby's neck, the picture is warped so badly that I feel like I'm watching the movie Alien. I CAN see if baby's head is in the proper position and see if baby is smiling or frowning, making this semi-functional when mirror is placed right. The biggest problem is that when someone sits in the back seat next to baby, they may touch the hand or foot of the frog as they are buckling themselves in. If they do, then it moves the mirror and the quest to get the mirror placed correctly starts all over again. I give this 2 stars because I expect as baby grows, her legs will be long enough to reach frog's belly, and she may find the toy interesting to play with. At that point, I seriously hope I don't need to see her in the mirror anymore.

If you, like i, think there are enough flashing lights and beeping noises in the world already, and thus avoid battery-operated baby toys, this is a wonderful find. No batteries at all. Baby kicks the frog feet, and the little plastic fishies and turtles in the frog's belly slosh around. Simple cause-and-effect. Car rides lately have a lot less screaming and a lot more giggling.

I'm depriving this toy of a star because, as several other reviewer note, the mirror isn't so great. It's not easy to adjust. By dumb luck, ours it positioned so the front seat passenger can look over their shoulder and see the baby. The driver can sit up very straight and lean forward and kinda see the baby's face in a corner of the rear-view mirror, but at that point they wouldn't be able to see the road.

That said, if what you really want is a baby car mirror, just buy a baby car mirror. The Frog Kick Mirror is also a toy, and no matter how well you've adjusted the mirror, the whole point is for the baby to kick it. The mirror won't stay perfectly oriented for long.

Also, your baby has to be big enough to be able to kick the toy for it to be terribly interesting, so it's not really worth purchasing this until your kid's feet are within an inch or so of the seatback.

I bought this hoping I could get the best of both worlds: a great toy for my son to look at and a mirror that would let me see him when I am driving. Well, the first part was right, it's a cute frog. Problem is the mirror is flimsy and really not of good quality. It's distorted and really cheaply made. Buy the Eddie Bauer mirror, it's a better buy.

I bought this for my son to have something to look at for a long car trip. The item pictured on the website and on the box itself is NOT the one that is actually *inside* the box. It looks similar, but the quality is much worse and cheap-looking. The mirror that makes up the "face" of the frog is a total piece of crap I couldn't even see my own face within 10 inches of it, much less my son's on the other side of car. It's a great idea, I just really wish it was the actual item pictured, and not the bad quality of the actual item.

LeapFrog® Brightlings Builders

I bought Brightling Builders (this product) and Brightlings Dancers for my 6-month old daughter. Overall I think the Brightlings collection is pretty cute, but I didn't want to buy the Exploration Station .... just didn't think it has much to do especially since my daughter has similar toys. The Brightling Builders and Brightlings Dancers are much cheaper, but if you want to choose one of these two I would recommend the Builders (see my review of Dancers). The Builders come with 9 pieces overall (3 bases, 3 heads and 3 other pieces) that can be stacked and rattled one of them lights up when pressed and one has a tiny mirror. Personally I think it's a nice alternaive to the common stacker with the rings. Also, the pieces are neither too heavy nor too big for baby's hands to pick up. When stacked (3 pieces on top of each other) they are probably about 6-8 inches tall.

I have a developmentally delayed 2 year old, so I pay a great deal of attention to the educational value of a toy. This one is great. According to my son's physical therapist stacking toys, particularly ones that can be stacked many different ways are important to aid in cognitive development. Plus my son just enjoys stacking them up and knocking them down! They are cute and I don't think it would be possible to break them.

Again these are a PERFECT size for him to grab and manipulate.

I bought this mobile to have one in my child's pack-and-play while I took her to work with me the first three months of her life. I love it! Baby does too! It has three little paper-thin fabric fish with black stripes (young babies love simple black lines) and three stuffed animals a blue whale, a green sea horse, and a purple sextopus well, the octopus has six legs, instead of eight but since baby can't count I don't mind. Worth mentioning there is a huge white tag sticking off the octopus. Nothing a pair of manicure scissors can't remove if you want it gone. The toys detach and though I haven't done that yet you COULD do this later to let baby chew on them as he/she gets older if you desired.

You have the option to play lullaby music and it cycles through Brahm's lullaby and Clair de Lune and another classical piece or more "fun" music like, Sailing, Sailing or Row, Row, Row Your Boat. One thing to note though the "long" play feature plays the lullabies only and lasts about 10 minutes. The "short" play feature plays the fun songs only one. at. a. time. I think this design element is for older babies that can play with the base unit (spin the spinner and push the buttons). You literally push a button and get about 10 seconds of music for "short" play. However, I do think this feature will be more fun for my daughter once she is older.

The two volumes on this mobile are medium and soft which I like. Of course, I always leave it on soft. You can also turn off the rotating movement of the mobile if you want to in order to save batteries though my baby is now 12 weeks and we have used the unit daily for 8 weeks and are still on our original batteries. This turn-off feature will also come in handy for when baby is older and can sit-up to play with the buttons on the base of the unit you can detach the mobile all together and then turn off the "motor" in the base, so it is not wasting battery power spinning nothing when the mobile is not attached.

I do not know why it took baby toy makers soooo long to come up with a floor-based mobile genious idea! As I said, this is great for the pack and play, tummy time, or toss it in the car to take to Grandma's one weekend.

I do have a separate, more permanent mobile attached to my baby's crib in the home, but I LOVE this one because I can spread a blanket on the floor in the den and entertain baby with this mobile. I would not buy this as my primary mobile but it makes a great secondary mobile. If you want a more permanent mobile I recommend the ones that attach to a crib from Tiny Love they play for 20 minutes, have multiple moving parts, and have mesmerized all three of my daughters for hours during infancy! You could however, make this your baby's primary mobile if you wanted to, but I think there are better ones out there. But as a portable one or secondary one THIS is the one to get!

The ONLY con I can come up with this particular mobile is that I wish it played longer than the approximately 10 minutes. Though, pushing a button once every 10 minutes to re-start it isn't TOO big of a hassle.

This is another high quality, durable, highly recommended baby toy from Fisher-Price that will grow with your baby and last several months. At 3 months old, I feel I've already gotten my money's worth and I know we will continue to enjoy it. Don't hesitate to buy.

I bought this item for my 2 month old grandson and here loves it!!! I lay him on the floor on a blanket with the mobile above his head and he loves it! He's a little older now and he reaches for the animals and "talks" to them. Best purchase ever!!!!!

My son Loves this mobile he was 2 months old when he got this for christmas and he has grown to love it more at 3 months old. I love that the mobile actually moves! My son is very active and a mobile that doesn't move does not keep him entertained.

The whole theme is very pretty and colorful. It was easy to put together and easy to use. My only complaint is that the timing for the twirling action of the mobile is too short. It always stops before the music does and my baby is still waiting for it to move.
