Infantino Vibrating Grape Teether

As a Mom of four, I have tried a great number of different baby products along the way. None of my children will take the water-filled teethers whether kept cold in the fridge or at room temperature, and seem to not understand what the regular textured teethers are for, but since being given this vibrating teether on baby number two I've wondered where it has been all this time! Each child that has tried it loves it! As soon as they figure out how to bite it to make it vibrate, the grumpies go away and they actually break out into a smile! Anything that can turn a fussy, crying, teething baby into a happy, occupied, smiling, teething baby has got this Mom smiling too! This teether is great for infants, but don't get rid of it too soon; I've had toddlers go back to this toy/teether when getting in their back molars after having not used it for several months. The relief it brings to baby's gums and Mommy's ears make this teether worth it at any price!!

I don't know about it for babies, but if you have a sensory child or a child on the autistic spectrum it is a must-have. My son has sensory issues and chewing on this provides a good amount of stimuli for him; he finds it very soothing and it's one of the first things I reach for when it's nap or bed time. His OT recommended it and it's a great purchase. Online it seems to be more expensive than I found it in the store though, weird!

Chicco: Construction Bulldozer and Dump

This set is really cute and my son (just turned 1) loves the little boulders and the truck sounds. I don't love how the dump basket doesn't stay attached at all and the loader/handle comes out quite easily too. It's a really fun 1st truck for little guys, but not durable whatsoever. Too bad I spend way more time putting the pieces back together than he does playing with it.

Fisher-Price Growing Baby Musical Xylo Fish

The Xylofish looks super cute, and I thought it would be a great gift for my daughter who is currently 11 months. However, the three keys are so hard to play. Although the star is a good size for infants to hold, it doesn't do a good of actually striking the xylophone keys. Sound production is poor.

This toy's design is very cute, but the xylophone keys don't make any sound unless you hit them on a very small sweet spot -which is very tricky for our 14 month-old to do! Save your money or buy another music-maker for your child.

I got this toy for my 1 year old b/c she LOVES banging on all the pots and pans in the house! The star shaped wand is easy to grip, but when you hit the fish, nothing happens. You have to hit the little musical "keys" in exactly the right spot to get just a little "ping" and the bottom of the fish (where is rests on the ground) is curved, so when you hit it, it just rocks back and forth b/c it is not stable. Overall, a BIG waste! For the $10, just go to Kmart and buy a junky pot and plastic spoon b/c it will work WAY better than this!

VTech Sing and Discover Story Piano

My son got this for his first birthday, and loves it. It's got lots of different buttons for him to push, two different modes, plus the pages of the book turn, and the buttons correspond to the page. Also, it's got a microphone that really works, and he loves to listen to himself. We've got a couple of VTech toys now, and they've held up great to banging, drooling, chewing, and just generally being beat up.

I would have liked to see a couple of changes to this, although overall it's great. 1. For a piano, I sort of expected to have a full octave of keys. With only 5, it's just a little short. I also expected one of the modes to say the color of the keys when you pressed on them.

I've got two issues with this toy. First, it broke right away. My kids aren't rough, and didn't abuse it, but with in a week or two the microphone shorted out. My second issue is with the music, and this is a pretty big complaint of most VTech toys across the board. The music is BAD. I'm not saying bad quality, I'm talking about playing wrong notes for traditional nursery rhymes. It's so bad that we can't even sing along to some of the tunes. I come from a very musical family, and my husband is a music educator. This drives me BONKERS! VTech would have some knock out products if they could figure out the melody for these nursery rhymes!

My 22 month old son has been playing with this since he was 4 months old. We have a second home and decided to buy a second piano for him to have at each house. My 17 month old absolutely loves watching these DVDs. She has a signing vocabulary of about 40 words. She loves being able to sign her wants and needs. I highly recommend this DVD series for parents of toddlers.

I bought these when my daughter was 7 months old. I was expecting her to sign to communicate but she didn't sign until she was about 11 year old. She was very excited even before the movie started, when she hears the giggles and the logo popping up. When she was about 13 months old, her signing vocabulary increases by 1-2 words per week if I keep showing her the signing and the real subjects.

Now, she is 16 months old. she can sign baby, music, food, drink, peach, dog, dada mama, hat, music, more, milk, shoes, socks, dirty, nice, please, sorry, etc. It is a lot of fun seeing her signing because she looks so cute and silly!

I ordered this DVD set for my 13 month son at the time. He loves this set. After two days watching first DVD, he started signing for "drink" and "more". I was surprized how quick he picked up. He is now 20 months old and still these are his favorate DVDs. I also bought Wordworld but he prefer to watch signing time. So I ordered signing time practice which teach him ABCs and 123s but he doesn't like to watch it too long. Maybe he is too young for that. Before he started watching this, I let him watch "your baby can read" since he was 3 month old. No, he didn't learn how to read but, he learned all his body parts from that DVDs. I don't play after we got signing time but he still knows all his body parts. Our family was impressed that he knows all his body parts at 8 month. Another DVD he really likes is "Letter factory" but not as much as signing time. Anyways, I would highly recommend this to every mom who wants to communicate with their little one.

I bought these when my daughter was about 4 months. We have only watched the 1st DVD so far, so that is why I have only rated this as 4 stars. My daughter loves watching the other babies' faces, so this signing video definitely keeps her attention, much more so than the animated baby sign flash cards we play with on my iPad from time to time. Your baby will learn the signs faster if you watch the video and sign along with him or her. For instance, during the song about drinking, I always have a glass of water near by and am sure to sign to her that 'mommy is drinking water' while the video is playing the 'drink' song. So yes, you should watch this video with your children so you can lean the signs and use them with baby, I try to avoid using this video as ababy sitter, although it sure is tempting sometimes. If she loves the other DVDs as much as the first, this will be a 5 star product.

UPDATE: It's official these DVDs are awesome! My daughter just turned 7 months old and started signing 'milk' to me this week while she was drinking a bottle. Now I can ask her by signing if she wants milk and if she doesn't she just looks at me, but if she does she signs milk back to me. It is so amazing that she can communicate with me now on some level. She gets really excited now everytime we watch one of the DVDs.

Mary Meyer Cheery Cheeks, Dandy Dog, 12"

I have bought 13 other 14" Mary Meyer Cheery Cheeks stuffed animals and my daughter loves them all. I figured the dog would be a great addition to her collection. However, this dog is about 2" shorter than the rest of the 14" animals and lighter by 4 oz (about 33% less compared to the others). I believe this is an intentional change to the way this line is made, but none of the product info for this toy indicated a change to the specs from the original line. Luckily, the difference was imediately noticable so I can return it and get the correct one some place else. I feel if I am paying the same price as the other 13 animals it should be the same size and weight, especially since the information advertised hasn't been changed. Don't get me wrong though these are great little companions for little ones.

I own another Mary Meyer, the lion, and this Dandy Dog is about two inches smaller then the 14" lion we own and much lighter. I don't know if they are making them cheaper now or the Dandy Dog is just not as full as some of the other, but this is not even comparable to the lion we bought a year and a half ago. Disappointed!

For some young children, it is a security blanket or stuffed animal they carry around with them. For my 2 year old son, it is this Taggies ball that jingles when shaken that is his "security blanket". He sleeps with it,takes it in the car with him, into the grocery store, throws it, kicks it, rolls it down the slide, etc. It washes easily and dries quickly by setting it on a clean, dry surface. We have about 5 taggies balls at homesome are different colors, but have the same concept. That's how much he loves them! My five month old loves this ball! it is one of the few items he can grab and hold. He pulls it toward him by grabbing a tag, then holds it in front of him shaking it, by squashing it between 2 hands. The jingle inside is great and not obnoxious at all. Definitely recommend it. My three year old also likes to throw and catch this ball-very easy for him to catch.

Well, I'm glad this is a ball that might be used later on. At 8 months now, my daughter has continued her love of tags and I've really been wanting to buy a "Taggies" product because I really thought she'd be drawn to them. But the tags aren't like the tags on our shirts/blankets/pillows etc. These are just ribbons folded in half and she really doesn't give two hoots about it. I'm hoping we'll be able to use this as a beginners tossing ball when she's a bit older. She does kind of enjoy sitting in my lap while my husband and I play catch back and forth.

We purchased this giraffe as an identical back up for my little girl's favorite stuffed animal. Our little girl is just over a year old and likes this giraffe because it is so easy to handle. It has legs, tail and horns that are all easy to grab. It wasn't easy to find this exact stuffed animal, so I was very happy to find it on Amazon. It arrived on time and in a sealed package (within the box). It has been through washer and dryer twice and isn't showing any wear yet.

My daughter doesn't go anywhere without "Ting" (her name for this giraffe.) I have washed it 5 times and it still looks great with no signs of wear or tear... did I mention she takes this everywhere?!

If you've never had a Gund teddy bear, they're great. I bought this for my wife, whose parents gave her a Chaplin bear when she was little, to take with her without having to worry about losing her Chaplin (yes, my wife still has a teddy bear). If you've had a Chaplin, it's not quite as squishy -there's less "beans" inside and more stuffing -but it's still a great teddy bear.

Rhino Toys 4-Inch Oball Rattle (Set of 2)

I bought these for my baby when he was about 3 months old.

They are easy to hold and have the rattles which add some interest.

They are flexible and baby tries to put them in his mouth but they are not too heavy so even at 3 months they weren't too heavy.

I highly recommend these over some of the more interesting balls because they are light and very easy to grasp.

He is now almost 6 months and still loves this ball although he does play with some of the others for longer now that he is more advanced and curious!

Recommended for 2-12 months.

Infantino Activity Stacker

Our twins have had this since they were around 4 months and it has been a highy played with toy, they still play with it now at 12 months. The materials and construction are great, we have had no issues with any of the pieces and I would classify them as having gone through heavy use so far.

This stacker toy is better than most in my opinion because each piece is unique with various shapes, materials, and sizes so kids find every part of this toy interestng as opposed to stacker toys that are simply different sizes of the same shape and material.

Because this toy is primarily soft materials it is safe for young infants. This stacker is also easy to pack and we take it with us on most trips because it fits in any bag and the kids are always happy to play with it.

I highly recommend this Infantino Activity Stacker.

This is literally the first product review I have ever written, but I have had such a great experience that I just had to write a review. I purchased this toy a few months ago for my infant son. He loves it and plays with it every day. Unfortunately, my puppy also loved it, and chewed a couple of the rings. I thought this would be great for my 6 month old who is constantly putting anything and everything in her mouth. It's really neat that there are so many different rings and the base squeaks (she likes that part--instant smile). The colors are vibrant and there are a ton of different textures. But my little one doesn't seem to care too much about it and she's now 9 months old.

Fisher-Price Travel Doodle Pro - Girl

Having 4 children means having 4 of everything, especially these great travel doodlers. These are fantastic to keep in the van to entertain the kids whenever we go anywhere. They are also great to use to teach children how to write. This particular item is more expensive than other doodlers and cheaper made. We owned 3 of the Fisher-Price Travel Doodler Pro doodlers (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0060JVU7M/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B0038Q564I&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0ANAQ0RHB5YY1Q8SKWY9) and needed a 4th, in a different color, for our 4th child. The other (2-handled)

travel pro doodlers are preferred by all of the children over this (1-handle) doodler for several reasons:

1. This doodler has a single small handle on top of the item. The other has 2 larger textured handles, which the children use to stabilize the doodler while they write on their lap.

2. The erasing slider is more difficult to move on this doodler. The slider on the other style moves much easier, which is great for the very young children (my 3-yr old triplets).

3. The back on this doodler is UNFINISHED there are sharp edges everywhere! There is complete flat back on the other doodler, which is much more comfortable for the children (and much safer IMHO).

Bottom line, we love doodlers, but do not recommend this particular travel doodle pro. The double handle travel doodle pro is definitely the way to go. It costs less and is all around a better product.

My baby girl is 18 months now and we got this for her a couple of months ago when we noticed our walls started to to turn into graffiti practice:). She loves it, it's very sturdy and well built-and despite getting thrown on the floor 10 times/day, stepped on etc it's like new. They learn fast how to erase what they doodle, the eraser is easy to use. And yes, it's pink. Recommend.

This is a really nice doodle board that my kids use all the time in the car. I had thought it would be slightly larger than what it actually is, but the kids still love it. Their drawings are improving all the time. I have purchased similar doodle boards before and will continue to purchase them as they go bad. They don't actually break, but after awhile (many months of using)the erasing ability of the slide stops working and the board stays darker and darker until it's really not useable anymore. This is a really good toy for kids who love to draw.

Muticolored Teething Necklace and Bracelet

This necklace and bracelet set are very nice. The necklace is knotted after every bead and feels very durable. The bracelet looks as pictured, I do have an issue on how it's made though! The bracelet was made with elastic, the beads are not knotted between each bead! The bracelet could easily be broken by a baby due to being made made with elastic. I really wish I had known this, I would have only ordered the necklace and saved myself a little money because I'm sure I will not use it. Shipping took about 4 weeks which is understandable due to the fact it was shipped from Lithuania. If you want fast shipping look elsewhere! My Little guy isn't teething yet so I'm not sure how effective it is yet. I do have him wearing it though. Overal it's a pretty little set!

Perfect for a baby's little grip-the legs are the width of a finger-could slip out my finger at night and replace with the chick. My daughter is now two and a half and she takes her two chicks everywhere especially when it's nap time or bedtime. They have held up nicely despite lots of love and are easy to clean (inside a pillow case on delicate in the wash).

I had expected this to be a chick, as in baby chicken, which it turns out not to be. But it is a nice little bird toy nonetheless.

Animal Print Zebra and Leopard Chiffon Tutu for Girls Ages 2-7

Bought this item for my daughter to wear at her birthday party. She absolutely loved it. Was also a very great price!

The size was supper small so for a small I'd say it only fits toddlers. I'm also disappointed in the loose threads in the top colored layer as there was many at the bottom and the top section, although sturdy looking it had Missed sewn section. I would send it back for money back but considering shipping cost the same amount of the product, wasn't even worth it. I'll have to do some sewing to fix it. The 2 underskirts are white with a color over skirt.The picture must be a large or extra large and is darker than the actual product. As i got the small, I figure my 5 year old granddaughter can use it for a doll. I'm very disappointed. Price was fine for 5 bucks but as the shipping was almost 6 bucks, I would not recommend this product. If the shipping was free, yes it would be worth it but its not. Such a disappointment for a Christmas Present.

Jan 2013 update: Well my 5year old Grandbaby opened it and it was so small I dare not try to put it on her. It will be regulated to a stuffed doll or toy for looks unless someone has a baby girl and wants it. Not worth the price at all. Not Even same look as in the picture. Don't buy it.......My daughter called me about the tutu and said it's outside layer is just sheeding strings like crazy. Plain its Bad Product and wont last a week even of costume play.

Haba Clutching Toy Perlina

Haba's Clutching Toy Perlina is the perfect size for tiny hands. It is smaller than many of the clutching toys on the market; the loops on each side of the toy make it easier for little ones to grasp. Further, the colorful beads attract an infant's attention and the various surfaces and shapes provide tactile interest.

The Perlina seems to be very well made; I was unable to stretch or pull the loops on my grandson's toy. The non-toxic dye is fairly colorfast; however, it will become more matte-finished when your little one begins to use this as a teething aid. My grandson loves to gnaw on the blue, flat portion, especially the edges when his gums are sore from teething. The bell does not make a significant amount of noise and appears to be securely fastened in the center of the toy.

Personally, I would use this toy with only one child and would not hand it down to anyone else or donate it to a non-profit. Although the beaded ends and the bell all seem to be securely fastened and unlikely to break loose, I would not take the chance on having the cord on which the beads are strung deteriorate due to storage conditions or break because of use. The parts on this toy are small enough to become choking hazards. It is because of this concern that I rated the Clutching Toy Perlina as a four-star toy and not a five-star toy.

Glad I got this before it could be discontinued. It is very cute. The wooden beads & bell are held on by elastic cords & it seems very durable. I have pulled & pulled & nothing snapped, although at first I was a little leery: If the elastic cord broke there would be around 10 tiny choking hazards all over the place. It's a great toy & my nephew loved it. Havn't had a chance to try it out on our little one yet.
