My son has been teething since he was 3 months old. With some teething toys he cries after biting them, which tells me they are much too hard for his swollen and sensitive gums. I bought these teethers as I liked that they came with 2, but different Sophie's. The first is for beginning teething...it more hollow, soft and flexible. My son has never cried while chewing this and it is his favorite teether. The second Sophie is for advanced teething. It is harder and less flexible. Love these and prefer them over the Sophie the Giraffe toy which I also own. This just seems easier to grip and munch on, and there is no long leg that can gagg your little one.

IQ Baby Knock-Knock Blocks

I purchased these for the young (under one year) daughter of an acquaintance. They are an unusually good set of blocks, being soft, multicolored, and with varying designs. Some have peek-a-boo windows and doors, and some have rattles inside. The only possible drawback is that the "windows and doors" could become torn lose with extended use, but they are a good value and would be expected to last as a young baby grows. They come in a convenient zippered storage case which has some baby features. I would rate these as a "best buy" for young babies.

These blocks are soft, colourful, with fun flaps and interesting picturesjust the sort of toy every parent thinks their kid would want. So, I bought these blocks when my daughter was 6 months old (she's 2.5 now) and like the previous reviewer's child, she never really liked payed them more than a moments attention. I thought they might be more of a hit with my son (who is now 7 months old), but so far they've been a flop too. It's a shame as before I had kids I bought them for all my friends with babies thinking they'd be great toys.

Our daughters love playing with these blocks, but now that they are teething and chewing on them, the color is coming off on their skin. I wiped drool off a block with a white rag and was surprised the color rubbed right off on it also. We do not want to see our children ingesting dye from their toys.

I purchased these for my 5 month old daughter. They are wonderful. The only problem is they are a little big for small hands to hold on to. Also they could be a little softer. All in all she loves the colors and noises. I feel they are a good value for the price.

We got this as a gift when my son was only a couple months old and he is now 19 months and has always loved it. It plays several different tunes when you press the big sunshine button and all of them are really nice familiar tunes and aren't too short or too long. The keys are nice for chewing on or rattling and they have pictures of baby faces which our son likes (you can put your own pictures in though). About a few months ago it finally stopped working and my husband opened it and found the wires shorted probably from too much drool or something. However, our son loved it so much we decided to buy a replacement here on Amazon. He is so happy now that he has his toy working again! It is perfect size to take in the car to keep him busy or right now we have it in a little toy basket by his potty. He often carries it around the house playing with it though. I really recommend this toy for babies up to toddlers!

My 11 month old son loved this toy when he was about 3 months old. It soothed him when he was grumpy and kept him company during car rides. Today, however, he got his finger stuck under the button. It deformed his nail bed and he was unable to get his finger out without assistance from me. This toy is fine for a younger, not very strong baby, but as soon as he/she gains finger dexterity and strength, they can wedge their finger under the button very easily. Please do not give this toy to your child!!! I threw this right in the trash after the incident. Please, please do not buy this toy. There are many other (safer) baby toy choices.

VTech - Touch & Turn Tunes

I bought this for my daughter when she was about 8 months old. She played with it for a few months mainly because it plays music. She got most of her entertainment from turning it upside down instead of pushing or pulling the animals themselves. It is not very intuitive on how to change the settings on it and it gets very repetitive really fast. Also if you don't turn it off, it will start playing in the middle of the night for no reason whatsoever.

Lamaze Mittens The Kitten Cloth Book

I've never purchased a Lamaze cloth book product before, but the photos of the items available are so colorful, and the cloth books looked well constructed. I'm glad I went ahead and ordered. The colors in person are amazing and draw baby's attention to them. The raised reliefs on certain portions of the photos are an interesting addition and the baby just loves to finger them, as if it is soothing to do so as he watches TV and hugs the cloth book. Yes, very well constructed of a slightly satiny material. Love it, as does the baby! I'll be back to get more.

I like this book, but most important is my son like it very much.

The colors and contrast are very amazing for him.

The different textures are something he likes too.

He is a bit young right now to use it at its 100% but this is what is really good about this book, it is useful from 3 months to more.

This was my first Lamaze purchase. My book came from the UK and I was amazed how fast I received my book. It was shipped right away with free shipping and I received the book at least two weeks earlier than promised. The kitten's head on the cover is puffy and is the most interesting part of the book because it makes the crinkly sound when touched. The book itself has no words, but each page is very colorful and self explanatory. On each page there is one thing that has a different texture for the baby or child to touch. You have a fish, chair, milk, flower, dog, butterfly, moon, and a ball of yarn with a texture that represents that object. The binding and handle is a soft satin that a young child would enjoy touching. In fact all the pages are very soft to the touch. A very cute book of a curious kitten.

I am throwing my daughter a hot air balloon themed birthday party for her first birthday, and I'm building a miniature hot air balloon for her to sit in and have her pictures made. I bought this hat for her to wear in some of her pictures, and I figured she could also wear it in the winter to keep her head warm. I will list the pros and cons:

Pros:

1. The hat is true to size, which means it can fit a one year old's head or the head of a bigger kid.

2. The hat is well-made and very soft, inside and out. It will also be very warm for winter days.

3. The picture only shows the ear flaps hanging down, but the right ear flap can actually wrap under the chin and button to the other ear flap to create that true pilot look, which will also keep the hat secure on the head and keep the chin warm. There are two size adjustments for this, too.

Cons:

1. The goggles are not the same as the ones in the picture. The ones in the photo are more rectangular shaped, and they look thicker and more padded, and whatever they're made out of looks softer and different than the ones I received. My goggles are oval-shaped, and they look like they're made out of a crappy pleather. The stitching on them isn't the best either. The goggles in the photo also have a bigger nose piece than mine do. My nose piece is literally only a few millimeters wide.

2. The goggles go around the back of the hat with an elastic band (like the one in the photo) and there is a small flap in the back that goes over them, to hold them in place. On this flap is a button. I was happy about this, because I thought the goggles could detach, but then I realized that the button is not functional, so basically the goggles are attached permanently to the hat. I wish I could detach them for wearing, and I'm unsure how I'm supposed to wash the hat if I can't detach the goggles, which are sure to tear up in the washer. I guess I'll have to hand wash it and be very careful with the goggles, especially considering how easily the lenses scratch. The goggles can be pulled down some to go over the eyes, but not in the way that they could if they actually detached; instead they come down at an awkward angle.

3. This hat is made in China and the tag with the care instructions is written in Chinese symbols, so I can't even read anything about it. The only thing written in English is the part that says "made in China".

4. The color of the hat and goggles is also different than the one in the picture. The seller photo shows a lighter brown hat with darker brown goggles. My hat is a chocolate brown with goggles that are the same color.

This hat is so cute! It's very good quality and keeps my babies head warm. Every time my 13 month old wears it we get tons of compliments.

So many big expensive gifts were given to my 2 year old on his birthday, but this was by far his favorite! The goggles actually pull down over his eyes, while staying attached. He is very rough on toys, but this is holding up well, he wears it all around the houses. I am absolutely delighted by it, it has made for some darling pictures!

Chicco Toys Sing Along Airplane

I bought this toy for my one year old twins. I'm hoping they will like it better as they get older. They don't seem to care for it much. It doesn't do a lot. It sings a little song for each place (Europe, Africa, Australia, etc), but that's about it. It has a short string on it to pull it along. The string is far too short. To get the songs to change, you have to push a big button on the top. It's hard for the kids to push the button. I wouldn't recommend a friend buy this toy. There are better options, like the VTech helicopter.

Only plays about three different nursery rhymes. String is too short to pull, I understand its a safety issue, would like for them to consider a different option.

Kids Line Plush Doll

I bought this lion off somebody's registry. It matches the bedding set, as far as colors, theme, etc. The main body of the lion is very soft and could become a favorite friend, if not for the mane. From the picture, the mane looks similar to one of those taggie blankets. It's made with coarse felt with rough stitching instead of ribbons. Also, it arrived in a tight plastic bag, which smashed the mane.

Ketchup Kids Costume - Child Medium

My son wanted to be ketchup for Halloween this year. He normally wears size 5T, but this fit him fine even though it says it's for size 7-10. Even the hat fit well. It's really cute, simple to get on and off and worked well both over his regular clothes and over a jacket. It held up to nearly two full days of parties and trick or treating without damage, which is better than I expected. The only negative was that the padded material is only in the front, the back is a thinner fabric that doesn't stick out, so it isn't clear what the costume is when viewed from behind.

When product arrived, I saw in the tag that it was made exclusively for Kmart by Totally Ghoul. Price online for Ketchup, Mustard and Hotdog is much higher. At Kmart, these costumes are selling for around $12!

Bought for my Grandson, absolutely love this, has so much fun popping the sticks up. His favorite toy right now.

The toy is well constructed but I was somewhat disappointed with it. The disappointment stems from my misreading of the description of how the toy operates. I thought the people moved up and down as the toy was pushed but they remain stationary. The "pop up action" occurs only when the child holds the people down, then lets go. However, my sixteenmonth old and three-year-old grandsons seem to like the toy.

My 14 month old got this from Santa and he is in love with it. He carries the little people around with him and thinks it is SO funny when they get popped. It seems durable enough, the only concern I have is it looks like the paint isn't that durable.

Muticolored Teething Necklace and Bracelet

This necklace and bracelet set are very nice. The necklace is knotted after every bead and feels very durable. The bracelet looks as pictured, I do have an issue on how it's made though! The bracelet was made with elastic, the beads are not knotted between each bead! The bracelet could easily be broken by a baby due to being made made with elastic. I really wish I had known this, I would have only ordered the necklace and saved myself a little money because I'm sure I will not use it. Shipping took about 4 weeks which is understandable due to the fact it was shipped from Lithuania. If you want fast shipping look elsewhere! My Little guy isn't teething yet so I'm not sure how effective it is yet. I do have him wearing it though. Overal it's a pretty little set!

I purchased this dump truck for my two grandsons for Christmas. Of all the other things they received (and forgot) this is still a favorite. For 2 year old attention spans, this one exceeds the usual time spent with any one toy. They love it.

This truck appeared to be one of the bigger, soft Tonka's I have bought in the past. For the price, I expected it to be much larger, but it fits in my 19month old son's hand! I am dissappointed that I paid so much for it, but I should have read the reviews before jumping the gun on this purchase! Overall the toy is fine, my son enjoys playing with a truck!

*Do not pay more than $5 each for these. I paid 3.99 each for them at Toys R Us and Walmart.

*They are made out of one solid piece of rubber, so the dump truck doesn't dump, the tow truck doesn't tow.

*They roll GREAT, we take them to the park and have a blast racing them down the slide.

*since they're made out of rubber they don't hurt to step on, and don't do much damage when crashed into things!

All in all I would buy these again, but not for the prices listed here on Amazon.

We like:

The variety of toys.

The print of the mat combining real images and illustrations.

You can attach toys to the mat, not just the arcs above the baby.

We don't like that much, but tolerate:

Polyester fabric is too... "slick" so baby can't gain traction during tummy time in order to crawl.

Rings for hanging toys are not enough. Some of the toys would be too high so we got some extra rings and used then to also hang other soft toys we had. You could get the Bright Starts Lots of Links.

I like this little gym, but I do have a few complaints about it. I'll start with what I like.

Pros:

* Very bright and cheerful

* Toys are cute and interesting

* Has a small footprint

* Easy to assemble

* I like the music on the Star

Cons:

* It's smaller than I would have liked

* I was afraid the Star that blinks and plays music would give my daughter a stroke. The blinking light was so fast and crazy it scared her, so when we use it, we lay it face down on the floor, which negates half of its purpose

* The material is very slippery, so when my daughter started rolling, she would slip around and then get caught up on the arms

My biggest complaint is the Star and how fast it blinks. Had I known this before I spent the money on it, I would not have purchased this item.

I really like this play gym so far. We just got it two weeks ago for my daughter who is now 11 weeks old and she seems to like it so far. The toys that come with it are very good, some even labeled in multiple languages (English, Spanish, French) to help when your baby is old enough to identify shapes. The theme of the mat is garden/outdoors but most of the images are based on basic shapes (circle, square and triangle) so your baby can identify them there too. I really like this mat above others I have seen because many of the images are "real life" images that look like photographs rather than the cutesy cartoon drawn images on many mats. This will help my little one connect to how things look in real life as well. The colors on this mat are brighter which I think stimulates better than pastel colors.

Since my daughter is so small still, I traded out some of the toys that came with it (the teether leaf and some of the hard hanging toys) for some softer toys we already own until she is bigger. I gave it 4 stars only because I am concerned the fabric for the mat may be too slick for my daughter to get enough traction to pull up when in tummy timefurther use may prove this wrong.

I bought this gym for our third baby with a gift card someone gave me because our older Baby Einstein gym was worn out after being LOVED by 2 kids. I am so disappointed we loved the original, but this one has some huge flaws, mainly in the setup. Since the bars do not cross, the gym doesn't just "pop" open when you put it down, so you have to use two hands to set it up (which is not easy to do when you're holding a baby at the same time). It also doesn't lie flat; the edges of the mat curl up against the bars because the clips are so far underneath. Also the toys are huge and made of hard plastic, so they hang down low (even from the top rings, the dog and frog practically hit my baby's head). Lastly, there is no support pillow with this one for tummy time. Unfortunately we washed the mat before we set it up, so there's no way for us to return the gym for a better one.

The product was sent very quickly and arrived in new condition, so I have no issue with the service. However, the costume was VERY cheaply made. The elastic in the waistband failed immediately buy coming detached from the pants and also it was completely stretched out and had no elasticity. The pants were so long they fit my 16 year old son, so they were not "child-size." The headpieces which were a hat and bag-like part were both WAY too small for my 7-year-old daughter, so it was toddler-sized. The image displayed here did not accurately match they item sent at all. We tried to make it work with buying straw and other parts, but we ended up using NO part of this purchase to use as her scarecrow costume. She ended up with her own jeans, her own cowboy hat, her own flannel shirt and brown boots. She had a great time in the costume with our own make-shift supplies, so if I had to do it over I WOULD NOT have purchased this item.

Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow Jumperoo

We are so happy we bought this Discover 'n Grow jumperoo, even though there weren't many reviews available then. We took our 4-month old son to the store and had him try a few, and this one was the obvious winner. We liked it the best for the following reasons:

1 The seat is deeper and does a much better job of supporting him. He has had amazing head control since birth, but in some of the other jumperoos with shallower seats, his body flopped around in them more and I didn't feel like I'd be able to walk more than 2 feet away in case he would fall over and hit his head. We saw support pillows being sold in the stores to address that problem, but why buy something else if you don't have to? The seat on this FP jumperoo is perfect for support and seems to be very comfortable for him--he'll spend up to an hour in it just playing and bouncing away.

2 This jumperoo is much more responsive to movement and is a lot "bouncier" than some of the others we saw. In fact, the jumperoos at our son's day care aren't nearly as springy, and he's very blah about them at day care. But when he's home and gets in this one, he immediately lights up and is all smiles. The bounciness would be something to consider, though, if your baby doesn't have great head and body control yet--I could see how it might be too much for some babies, especially if they aren't all about being on the move all the time. For ours, though, this one is perfect.

3 The toys and bright colors immediately caught his attention at the store and at home they continue to keep him interested. He loves gazing at the light-up keyboard, playing with the monkey and penguin, grabbing the rings, trying to grab the bee and bird, etc. The toys are in a couple of little groupings that almost create little "stations", so when he gets tired of one station, we just turn his seat to the next one and he's happily entertained for another 15-30 minutes. The sounds and music are also great--they respond to his movement, so the more he bounces, the more he hears the music, which in turn makes him excited and he bounces even more!

4 There are 3 levels of height adjustment, so it should last him a long time. We have it on the lowest setting and he's about 26.5 inches tall right now; we have a pillow underneath him because the tips of his toes barely brush the floor, but he won't need the pillow for much longer.

Especially after seeing his reaction to the day care jumperoos, we couldn't be happier with our purchase of this one. If your baby responds well to lots of movement, then you won't go wrong with this one.

I got this for my 6month old...she loves jumping in it and spends more time in it than her playmat or swing. Her favorite first thing was the spinning sphere. The only thing I didn't like was that the sphere is far away on the opposite side of the other 3 features but hopefully she will learn to turn in her seat soon.

She is 16.5 pounds so i adjusted the springs to level 2...the instructions said their feet should not be flat to the ground in this jumper and on level 2 at 16.5lbs, she has perfect jumps using the balls of her feet. I think this is to avoid their knees dislocating if they land wrong, so make sure your baby's feet are not flat to the ground while they're not jumping.

The other thing i loved is that it's easy to take apart to move from one room to another. She loves this. It's worth the $95 spent and i've compared it to many other jumpers on amazon and compared reviews. This one is great.

This jumperoo is amazing! After 4 months of research on each one I decided to get the rainforest jumperoo but when I went to order it I found this brand-new jumperoo just listed and with no reviews on any web site we decided to be spontaneous and order it for our 4 month old daughter. This is a neutral item even with the butterflies that hold the toys to reach out too since they are more boyish colors. It is bright colored and makes lots of fun music! Unlike most toys I didn't need to keep introducing it! She loved it the second she was in it. She grabbed the toys right away. It took twenty minutes for me and my wife to put it together. Even though we put a pillow under her to make up the height difference its perfect and give us a huge brake!

Purchased this for my daughter at 4.5 months of age. Now at 6 months this is her favorite activity of the day. It was very simple to put together. The base is a nice neutral color that matches well with the rest of our house. I love this model much better than the others available for a number of reasons. The springs are covered with a black and white fabric which is perfect because babies can see high contrast better than any other color. The dangling bird and bee are not so much hanging overhead (as the rainforest model does) and I dont worry about her hitting her head while bouncing. When compared to the Laugh and Learn model, the L&L appears to have a large red arch in the back, and IMO would become difficult when lifting the child out of the seat.

A friend of mine had the Baby Einstain bouncer for her son, and I did not like it at all. The seat was really wide, and my daughter appeared to recline in the seat rather than be supported and use her toes to bounce. She could not reach ANY of the toys. Even though its advertised that you can "hang your own toys" from the bars, the child would not be able to reach them. The springs are VERY short, and provided little to no bounce AT ALL.

I am so happy with this purchase, and my daughter loves it. She will usually jump and play for 30-45 minutes twice a day in it. It provides quick and easy entertainment as well as exercise. The seat is easily removed for machine washing, and the unit is portable, so you can keep your child close by instead of using a doorway jumper. I love this floaty!! My son was 9 mths when I got it (10 mths now) and he loves it too! He likes water, but he gets a little nervous when I walk in the pool with him, gets a little clingy. I bought this for him and now he loves the pool, doesn't even flinch. He sits in it with his legs in the water, and his weight makes some water come up, so hes about waist deep, and theres enough room in their for a toy or two to keep him extra happy. I just push him around in that, making the usual goofy car noises we parents are great at, and he has a ball. Makes swim time so much nicer. Of course you shouldn't ever leave a child alone in it (duh) but its nice to give him a gentle shove and then doggy paddle next to him. He's safe, and I get a little exercise in the mix. Thumbs up for this one!

We bought this for our baby this summer, but had a hard time keeping our 2 year old out of it. It held up to our kids jumping on it and playing on it. The only problem I could come up with is that your baby might be to far from the water to actually enjoy it. You don't really have to worry about them falling in because the float surrounds them. We even put some toys in front of our baby so that he had something to do while in the float.

but still, a leak. For the price though, not too worried about it. A little hard to get the munchkin in, but not a big deal if your child isn't wanting to get in and out a bunch. Good shade.

What a horrible design! The top does not stay up, the front over-inflates so the kid is tilted back and almost sitting in the water. Horrible design! I would NOT recommend this

Lamaze Farm Truck Pull Toy

our son loves this truck, but after only a month the roof has completely separated from the side and the windows are also starting to separate. i wish they would have made the truck a little bit more durable. I have sewn the truck back together, but because of the fabric it is just starting to tear again.

I saw this item and thought it would be perfect for a 1-year-old's birthday! He opened it and the only thing he's played with since then (he's nearly 2) is the pig that comes along with the truck! If you're getting it for a younger child, it's great.

We usually only use it for sleep times in his crib, but when we lay him down, he immediately cuddles up to it.
