Learning Curve Bob the Builder - 12 in. Soft & Cuddly Nightlight

I bought this doll for my one and a half year old who has discovered Bob the Builder recently. It is the only stuffed Bob I could find and my little guy really likes it. Bob carries a flashlight that is easy to operate even for a toddler, all he has to do is squeeze the sides of the flashlight to make it come on. He likes the soft orange glow of the light and the doll is just the right size for little ones. The only thing I dislike about the light is that it does not have a switch, once you let go of the sides of the flashlight the light goes out. Also, the batteries cannot be replaced once they die, there is no way to get to the batteries without cutting the fabric of the flashlight open(unless there is a trick to it that I haven't figured out yet).

Nonetheless, my son likes his stuffed Bob and takes it out with him quite often.

This toy is absolutely adorable but the name is misleading! He is so cute and soft and has a working flashlight. However, it is called a nightlight but it isn't! You have to be squeezing the flashlight for it to be on. Bought this hoping it would get my son to sleep in his own bed thinking it would light up but it isn't like that at all. It is a great toy but absolutely not a nightlight in any way. Just because it has a light doesnn't make it a NIGHTlight.

My 2 1/2 year old son flipped when he opened this for Christmas! He sleeps with Bob every night and loves that the light is easy enough for him to do by himselfno buttons to mess with, just a gentle squeeze and it lights up. He carries Bob with him everywhere! This was definitely money well spent.

It is a very cute doll my two year old hasn't really taken to yet but I think he will eventually and he does keep him in his crib. I purchased it in June 2007 and gave it to my son as a Birthday gift in August. The flashlight died in about a month's time, give or take. There is no obvious or visible way to replace batteries?? I am also a little worried about the stiching behind Bob's neck as it is not very tightly stiched. I just contacted Ty's Toy Box and am hoping for a response regarding the flashlight...

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Musical Learning Cow

I was very disappointed with this purchase. The polyester fibers are coming out from the toy (through the colorful feet of the cow). I bought this for my 6 months old son months ago but then took it away until he is not putting everything into his mouth and won't eat or inhale these fibers. I never ever had the same problem with any other stuffed animals. I wanted to return this but I had already threw away the packaging when I noticed this problem :(

Packaging states "learn about colors and opposites" and "sing along with fun songs" .....there are exactly two songs on this toy. One song includes counting 1-10 and other song mentions colors and the words "big" and "small". Age rec should be for up to 18mos.

My daughter got this toy for Christmas when she was about two months old. She liked to listen to the songs and the MOOOOO-OOOO sound. Now she is six months old and she has figured out how to rake her fingers across the cow's belly to make it sing. It probably amuses her that I know all the words and can't help but sing along with it. Like all toys, the educational value of this toy depends on how you, as a parent, interact with the toy and your child.

Skip Hop Alphabet Zoo Activity Mirror

Although the item can totally be used alone, we found it was a great addition to the Skip Hop Activity Gym. Its adorable and has great added features other than just the mirror itself. I had to take off one star though because the actual image quality in the mirror itself is pretty distorted. Its actually really common in play mirrors, since they are made of soft materials instead of a true glass mirror (for obvious safety reasons) so I cant entirely fault the maker for this issue, but its still worth noting.

Since the day I opened this it is by far my son's favorite toy. It is also much larger than I expected and I love that it can go on the back of the headrest in the car for road trips.

Got this item for my 3-month to give her something to look at during belly-time. She had been very interested in mirrors lately so this looked great. My baby girl adores this, started reacting to it at about 3.5 months, now is 6 months old and still loves to look at herself. The mirror is not rigid, so sometimes gives a funhouse-esque reflection. I think the baby thinks this is funny, but I wanted to mention it because my mom was disappointed that it wasn't a proper reflection (I think she thinks it will mess up the baby's self-image haha.)

The little attached toys (the bird and the monkey) are very attractive to my baby also, who always tries to grab on to them, but they are stuck on the mirror with what feels like supervelcro it takes significant effort on my part to remove them so she can play with them. On the bright side, this supervelcro they use is not the hook-y kind that can hurt little fingers (or little teeth) so I don't have to worry about that. They are attached with a VERY short string though I'm guessing this is for safety reasons but my baby isn't able to really play with the little attached toys which can be frustrating for her. All these points taken into consideration, she LOVES this toy and so do I!

I bought these when my daughter was 7 months old. I was expecting her to sign to communicate but she didn't sign until she was about 11 year old. She was very excited even before the movie started, when she hears the giggles and the logo popping up. When she was about 13 months old, her signing vocabulary increases by 1-2 words per week if I keep showing her the signing and the real subjects.

I ordered this DVD set for my 13 month son at the time. He loves this set. After two days watching first DVD, he started signing for "drink" and "more". I was surprized how quick he picked up. He is now 20 months old and still these are his favorate DVDs. I also bought Wordworld but he prefer to watch signing time. So I ordered signing time practice which teach him ABCs and 123s but he doesn't like to watch it too long. Maybe he is too young for that. Before he started watching this, I let him watch "your baby can read" since he was 3 month old. No, he didn't learn how to read but, he learned all his body parts from that DVDs. I don't play after we got signing time but he still knows all his body parts. Our family was impressed that he knows all his body parts at 8 month. Another DVD he really likes is "Letter factory" but not as much as signing time. Anyways, I would highly recommend this to every mom who wants to communicate with their little one.

I bought these when my daughter was about 4 months. We have only watched the 1st DVD so far, so that is why I have only rated this as 4 stars. My daughter loves watching the other babies' faces, so this signing video definitely keeps her attention, much more so than the animated baby sign flash cards we play with on my iPad from time to time. Your baby will learn the signs faster if you watch the video and sign along with him or her. For instance, during the song about drinking, I always have a glass of water near by and am sure to sign to her that 'mommy is drinking water' while the video is playing the 'drink' song. So yes, you should watch this video with your children so you can lean the signs and use them with baby, I try to avoid using this video as ababy sitter, although it sure is tempting sometimes. If she loves the other DVDs as much as the first, this will be a 5 star product.

UPDATE: It's official these DVDs are awesome! My daughter just turned 7 months old and started signing 'milk' to me this week while she was drinking a bottle. Now I can ask her by signing if she wants milk and if she doesn't she just looks at me, but if she does she signs milk back to me. It is so amazing that she can communicate with me now on some level. She gets really excited now everytime we watch one of the DVDs.

Early Years Squeaky Legs Teddy Toy

This is my 7-month-old daughter's favorite toy. It doesn't look very exciting, but it keeps her busy for long stretches at a time with its silky ears, crinkle paws, rattle tummy, and, especially, squeaky legs. It's great! I want to get another one just in case we lose ours.

I really like this squeaker toy. The particular squeak it makes isn't the hideous high pitched squeak that so many of them make. The squeak is a lower tone and not abrasive at all. I bought 2 of these, one for my daughter and then later, another one for a girlfriends baby shower.

I bought 2 of the same size, in different colors, and the yellow one is true to size, but the red one is HUGE. I saw the label was a sticker (it said 18-24months) but it was covering a 4-6x!! It is huge, but i need it already, so i will not return it...

We purchased this for our 29 month old. Fit was fine. It was red but the color wasn't very bright. It was also two shades of red between the two fabrics (the foam front and the poly back). The hat fit well but did not stay on. She kept tilting her head to see out from under it and then it would fall off.

Cabbage Patch Cuties Cow

I was searching for a cute little doll to get my 12 month old daughter for Christmas and this is perfect! She is on the small side (only 18 lbs. and 29" as of last week) and many of the dolls I've checked in stores are either too long or too heavy for her carry around. This little Cabbage Patch fits the bill! It's very light weight and only 9" long. The little outfit is soft and in my opinion adds to the cuteness factor of the doll. I ended up buying a second doll to give to my niece who is just a few weeks older than my daughter. I only rated this product at 3 stars overall because the price listed is way too high! Even the other dolls I've seen listed at lower prices (the $15 dollar range) end up at $20+ with shipping. I found the same exact doll at Target for $8.99. I love to do my shopping online but I recommend heading out to the stores to make this purchase.

We purchased this doll for my daughter's Easter basket last year and she loves it. It is the perfect size for a toddler to carry around and cuddle. We also purchased the butterfly and the puppy for my nieces and they love theirs as well. I don't really understand the reviews that complain about the size, it is smaller than a regular Cabbage Patch doll, but that is in the description. It is only about 9" long and in my opinion that is PERFECT for little girls under 3, which is who I was shopping for. The price on Amazon is a bit overpriced though... you can get it in other retail stores for under $10. I even found a coupon online and I only paid around $5 for each one in the end.

This bear is just right! When you first take it out of the package, it will seem that the velcro won't fit, but a little wiggling and it's perfect. I put it through the washer and dryer before using it, and it came out even softer than before. I love it and am considering purchasing another one, but probably a different animal.

The blue bunny has been my son's best sleep aid since he was about six months old. (I wish we'd thought to introduce Bunny sooner!) My son is now almost two, and Bunny is an essential part of sleeping -my son always falls asleep holding him, and he's always overjoyed to see Bunny again when he wakes up. These guys are the ideal size for this, and they wash well! My son's bunny has been washed many, many times in a regular load of laundry -we air-dry, which takes practically no time, since Bunny is so thin. (Bunny has actually gone straight from washer to crib a couple of times, and it's not a big deal.) We've learned the hard way that washability is an essential feature for all these sleep aids. No matter how luxe it is, it must be washed -and not everything stays soft after washing. These bunnies go the distance.

Note that the bunnies currently being sold are a little different from the old version. The first bunny my son received had no rattle in the head and no pacifier holder. I bought one of these new ones to have on hand as a spare and easily removed the rattle from the head so they would be more similar. To my son, they are apparently indistinguishable. The new one seems a little softer to me, but maybe that's just because it's seen a little less action so far. :o)

Pokemon Child's Pikachu Costume

Mask is wonderful and durable but body suit is very thin and tail is glued to back. tail fell off the first time my son wore the costume and you could see right through the body suit.

For $30.oo I would have thought this costume would have made it to Halloween! My son wore it once to a party a couple days before Halloween and the tail ripped off the back just from him sitting down. He loved the costume but I thought it was cheaply made.

Tolo Toys Shape Sorter Play Bench

This is one of my son's favorite toys. He loves hammering on it and is very interested in the concept of getting the shapes into the correct hole.

The string attaching the hammer is so short that it makes the hammer very hard to use, even for daddy. If the string were longer it would probably be a strangulation hazard, but there is no good reason for the hammer to be tied on. (If you're worried about keeping all the parts together there are already 6 shape pieces that could come out and get lost under the furniture.) I cut the string off at both ends to make the toy usable.

We got this for our son's first Christmas when he was 10 months old. At first he just like the shapes when they were out of the table... they rattle. It wasn't until about 14 months old that he started to understand the concept of hitting them through the table with the hammer. Now at 17 months old it is one of his favorites. The string on the hammer could be just a little longer... it has to be lined up just perfect in order to have enough room to hit the shapes. Also the sides could be a little taller so that the shape actually fell through the other side when it is sitting on the floor. Normally my son wants me to hold it while he hits so he can push the shapes all the way through. Overall we really like this toy and I'm always excited to find a basic non-battery skill teaching toy. We recite the colors while playing with this and some of the shapes... although some are hard to really name. Oh and my son thinks any toy you can hit is great... definate bonus.

This toy was given to our little one when he was two and he just loves it. It gives him an outlet to bang on something without destroying it and it really keeps him occupied for a little while. He loves the fact that it looks like a tool bench and that he has his own hammer. That hammer has whacked quite a few thngs around the house, including the cat, and it doesn't hurt anything like the drywall, baseboards, etc. Really a nice toy and one that won't destroy other things in the house. It's easier to use than the wooden ones plus you don't have to worry about splinters. Some of the nuts are harder to get through than the others, but it really makes a nice challenge for him.

This is an excellent and VERY STURDY toy for your child. Highly recommended for age 1.5 2.0 or thereabouts. My twin girls are a little late in developing fine motor skills, and these big sturdy pieces (with interesting rattles inside) have been great for playing while working on some important coordination and manipulation activities.

I didn't mind the short tether on the hammer it helps keep them from using the hammer on stuff they shouldn't. :)

It is not a rattle, doesn't crinkle, has only one texture and no sound....I knew all of this before buying it and wanted to give it a try anyway...My daughter likes it but doesn't love it like she loves lamaze toys for example (but those r not organic and have polyester fibers coming out through the pores of the fabric.) She is attracted to the colors and the tentacles are easy to grab, put in her mouth, etc. But after 5 min she is done exploring it. Also, It takes long for the cotton inside to dry after washing and I wonder how sanitary that is. She loves to chew on the tag, I hope the ink is also natural and organic but it doesn't say. But I can always cut it off if it bothers me much.

My daughter likes this toy. It's colorful, soft, and easy for her to chew on the 'legs'. It's also a great size for little people, not so small that it makes me nervous but not so large that it overtakes my little kid.

I bought the Scraptopus for my almost 3 month old daughter, and we both are so happy with it. She seems to love the happy face on it, and the tentacles are easy for her to grab and hold onto. It is super soft, and the loop on the top enables us to attach it to her gym, stoller, car seat, or whatever, by just adding a ring or clip. It's a great size, too large enough to hold her attention, but small enough for her to be able to manipulate. My one suggestion to make it even better would be to put some sort of noise maker inside, such as a chime or rattle. However, it's still a great toy as is!

I really love this sleep sack. It is very sweet, lovely soft colors and the attached toy is a nice design touch. I am happy with the quality and can see this will last through a lot of play. I can't see my 2 year old having any problems using this with her dolls. LANCO Natural Rubber Bath Toy

My son already loved the Fishy Fish Natural Rubber Teether so when he lost it and I bought a replacement I got this one too. The fins are great b/c the get into all the teething spots and I love the cheesy look!

My 9 month old loves his Kissy Fish! He loves to chew on it and I love not worrying about what he's chewing on. It's also a fun toy. He cracks up when I squeeze the fish to suck up the water and then squirt it out.

Spin Ball by Tiny Love

My daughter has had this toy since she was three months old and at six months still loves it. It's easy to clutch and the nubbly outside make it fun to mouth. The picture doesn't do it justice. The colored ball pieces move so that there is always a small part open which reveals a littly guy inside who has a smiley face and rotates. The inside of each part of the ball has a mirror finish which makes it visually quite interesting. When the outide pieces move they make a nice clacking sound and there is a rattle in the guy inside. Stimulates senses of touch, hearing and vision as well as curiousity and problem solving.

I bought my son a light-up phone that makes hundreds of noises and this yesterday. He has hardly touched the phone and can't put this "low-fi" toy down. The "slices" have mirror on the inside, it makes a great clicky noise and a rattle in the middle. He can also grip the slices easily.

So many toys for babies are overstimulating lights, loud noises, battery draining monstrosities. This ball is excellent. It has enough going on to keep our 11 month olds interest moving parts, clacking of pieces, rattling, smiley faces, relections.. but no loud blaring noise, no seizure inducing lights.. nothing to drive Mom and Dad batty. I'm actually ordering a second one for my Brothers 3 month old. Definitely a great toy. It's about the size of a softball, big enough not to loose it, but small enough to be a toy you could throw in your diaper bag. Defintely would reccommend this as a simple, low maintence toy for a baby that's just exploring the world around them.

This toy showed up in the mail yesterday. My 7 month old son just loves it. It is a wonderful toy, with so many features to interest a baby. I found the description difficult to understand, so let me do my best to explain how it works. The crescent sections can freely rotate about the central post, and the inside of each section is a mirror. The sections tend to stack up against one another, leaving one open space (the width of several sections). Then the fun part is sliding the sections across the open space to the other side and hearing the loud "clack" as a section hits the other side of the stack..

Reasons why this toy is good:

It's the right size for a baby to hold and/or bat at on the floor

It has an interesting texture (bumpy)

It's colorful

It has things that rotate (the crescent section)

It has things that spin (the central post)

It is mirrored and reflective

It has a little rattle inside

The crescent shapes make a delightful "clack" as they slide into on another.

Love it.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it is not BPA free.
