These were even better than I hoped. The illustrations are so unique and the plastic center pieces are interesting and easy for little hands to grasp to pull out or put in. I couldn't be happier with this purchase!I had purchased similar blocks for my granddaughter 5 years ago and recently pulled them out for my grandson. He absolutely loved them. Couldn't find them in the store but found them on amazon. Only thing he played with when he opened them on Christmas.Thursday, August 21, 2014

Fisher-Price Apptivity Gym for iPhone & iPod Touch Devices
2) QR Code on back doesn't work. Deadlinks to something on the Fisher-Price mobile site. Maybe it will get fixed. Too easy to just go to the App Store/iTunes and search for "apptivity." There are two apps for the gym. One is titled "Peek 'n Play" the other is "Black & White."
iTunes Links -
Black & White -
Peek 'n Play -
3) Touchscreen works while locked in place. Good to switch between apps, maybe even put on a movie or something else? Can turn sound on or off while in cradle, but cannot simply turn down. The phone isn't too hard to get in there, but definitely takes surgical precision.
4) The toy works as a stand-alone (mirror on back-side of iPhone cradle), but significantly increases in value with the addition of the apps. They were designed for this thing, no doubt about it. The two apps were not an afterthought.
5) For fun, place your kid in it and sit facing them. Who is the creepy-creepster staring at you?! (See pic)The best word I have for this is simple. It's simple to fold, simple to carry, simple to put together, and simple to operate. You don't have to use your iPod/iPhone in it but if you do, just search for the Fisher Price apps in the App Store, pop it in it's secure spot and voila! You can also situate your Apple device so that the baby can't or can press the home button. If you don't want to use that function, just switch it around and use the mirror it comes with. I have twins and I found this is also a good tool for tummy time exercises as they can stretch their necks to look up into the mirror and reach up to get the toys. Good buy! Especially if it's on sale!

This is a very simple design and it can fold so you can take it anywhere, which is great for storage and ease. It's a very light product so anyone can move it. I know this shows a baby on the back but that's not always the case. The little toys that are attached to the apptivity gym has been really amusing for my 1 year old. She would sit there and play with all the toys and stare at them.I think the iPhone portion is just an added plus. You can either put your phone in there, which was pretty easy to fit in or turn it so it faces the mirror. I did find when I initially turned the phone holder over to the mirror, it was a little bit difficult. I also found that even with the mirror, my baby would play with this. It kept her amused since it allows her to tug on the toys attached.
Setup-wise, this was a little bit more difficult to put together. I really had to push some of the legs in and took me a little longer. It is easy to figure out how it goes, it is just that it takes a little bit of strength to make sure it is secured properly. To fold up the gym, it's just done by pressing the button. It was a little sticky at first but has gotten better with each use.
Overall, we do like the apptivity gym and even if you don't have a baby lying on their back, they can still play with it sitting up.

This is a great baby present. The Apptivity Gym works with many iPhones and iTouches but not with the new iPhone 5 because it does not have the new electricity adaptor in it. This means that if mom or dad didn't have an iPhone or didn't have an iPhone prior to the iPhone 5, then the "app" part of the gym would not work. That being said, the gym does not require apps to be used with it, as there is a mirror inserted in the place where an iPhone/iTouch is meant to be inserted. I actually prefer the gym without the iPhone/iTouch and appreciate that without these mobile objects, the gym is quiet. Kids still seem to enjoy the gym and it doesn't make any noise, unlike all the other battery-powered kids' toys that seem to continuously make noise.
This gym is best for kids that are still laying on their backs. It is also fun for kids that can sit up but not very useful for walking children, so it has a limited, but important, lifespan. I highly recommend this toy.

My daughter is 4 months old and received this for Christmas. She loves it! She laid on the floor and played with it for 2 hours Christmas morning! She loves watching the apps on my iPhone or just playing with the toys and looking in the mirror. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!Thursday, July 17, 2014

I just bought these for my friend's two year old. We had them for our kids and we used them in the bathtub and the sandbox. The girls loved to stack them, fill them with water and sand and learn their colors with them. They're construction is superb as well. They outlasted all the other toys we had 25 years ago!My grandson will spend hours making towers or playing with the cups in the bathtub. He loves them so much we had to get a second set to have at his house.Sunday, June 29, 2014

My son loves the rattle and crinkle aspects of the toy, and I like that it's not plastic. But the top ring's seams split open, exposing the stuffing, and so I had to throw it out after just a couple month's of play.Read Best Reviews of Lamaze Rainbow Stacking Rings Developmental Toy Here
I really like these rainbow stacking rings because they are quality made, have terrific textures and colors and are easy for baby to grab, mouth and toss about. We've been playing with this product for about 3 weeks and it doesn't disappoint. The rings stack onto a black and white striped base which has some fun ribbon strips sprouting out the top. Each of these features are interesting and attention grabbing for baby. I love that I don't have to worry about stepping on hard plastic toys or that baby will whack himself in the head with this rings (which he seems to do a lot of lately!). This is a great toy for my little guy, who is currently 7 months old. I suspect it will amuse and delight him for some time to come...especially when we start to really learn colors, size relationships and more. For comparison, I have the fisher price stacking rings, which are a classic toy and fun, too. While we are enjoying the FP rings, I just love the Lamaze stacking rings...worth every penny and I would buy them again.Want Lamaze Rainbow Stacking Rings Developmental Toy Discount?
I bought this toy for our vision impaired baby. The colors are bright and bold and there are different textures. We typically use the rings as individual toys (baby is 3 months old) but anticipate him being able to stack it in the future.Tuesday, June 17, 2014

Lamaze Play & Grow Stretch the Giraffe Take Along Toy
PLEASE READ!!
I LOVED this giraffe..this thing is the cutest toy ever and I had placed this on my wish list for my baby shower last May. Well..I ended up receiving the giraffe from a good friend of mine for my baby shower like I had wanted. My son had only played with it maybe twice since he's been born, so it's still pretty brand new.
My son is 10 months old now, and we just moved to a new house last week, so I re introduced him to stretch yesterday, (still in super new condition) and he had been sitting in his highchair playing with him, chewing and biting on him as most babies will do with their toys. It's to be expected.
I was upstairs unpacking, my son was in his highchair next to my husband while he washed dishes when my son started choking!!
He was choking on the white stuffing inside the toys foot! He had managed to chew the thing until it became unstitched at the seams and that's when the stuffing began to fill his mouth. He must have swallowed a majority of what he had in his mouth. Needless to say, it was a frightening moment for all of us!!
UGH! I am just so disappointed and now concerned for anyone else's children who may have this toy!
Upon close inspection of this toy after the fact, I noticed that the stitching is very poor. Not nearly strong enough to withstand the mouth of a teething baby! I noted other parts of the giraffes seams and stitching where it has signs of also beginning to become unstitched!
The very worst part is the fact that had my son gone un noticed and not attended to right away, he could have very well choked completely, or the round small plastic squeaker (also inside the same foot he opened) could have also come out and easily become lodged inside his throat! In fact there are multiple "perfectly sized pieces" including a small round ball rattle, a more flat circular shaped rattle and the disc shaped squeaker (the one my son almost managed to get out) inside each foot. Again..they are very poorly secured inside the giraffe and are a major choking hazard! I hate to think of how many babies go to bed with this toy and are possibly left alone with it when they wake up in the morning or after a nap. Parent unsuspecting, because these toys made by learning curve are supposed to be designed with safety in mind. Safety being what Learning Curves number one priority is. I would have never have thought to check those details since I was convinced this toy or any toy designed by a big name baby toy company was undoubtedly safe to let my baby play with.
This toy needs to be recalled ASAP! I have contacted Learning Curve /Lamaze RC2 department regarding this serious issue, and Stretch the Giraffe is on his way back to them for inspection. I have no doubt they will issue a recall. If I were you...and just to warn parents ahead of time..please refrain from buying stretch for now! Or if you have him already, take him away from your baby...especially babies with teeth!
In an effort to make me, the consumer happy, they offered me a new toy and that's on it's way now, but in reality, is that really enough? Or does that make up for the fact that we watched our little son choke and go through that trauma? Imagining the scenario if we had not been right there to help him...would the new toy suffice? It's horrifying imagining the things that COULD have happened and Thank God that didn't.
In addition I am going to be weary of the new toy and I am not even sure he will play with it until I inspect every inch of it, and now I need to sit with him every second while he plays with in fear that some little thing could go wrong in a toy that has been deemed safe from a reputable company I have grown to love and trust. I just believe this is an honest mistake but a serious issue that was grossly overlooked. I know that Learning Curve will do the right thing in the end.
I will never send my son to bed nor leave him to play with ANY toy, stuffed animal, or object ever again for fear that he will wake up, be alone and begin innocently teething while I am still asleep, and something similar to this may happen. It's a good thing that wasn't the case this time.
Please parents...check the babies toys! You just never know!!
Forward this to all your friends who you think may have this toy, may buy it, are expecting a baby, have infants and small children.

Yomiko Yomiko Portuguese Water Dog 10", by Russ
I got this dog as a gift from the love of my life.
Like real dogs, with the Russ Yomiko Portuguese water dog, the eyes can be hard to see through the matching black fur around them. This dog is a sit-up dog, who is very fun to pet and scratch on the head. But she does not lie down like many of the other Russ Yomiko dogs do. Therefore, she is a good desk dog.Very cute and durable. Closest thing to my australian shepherd / poodle I could find. 3 year old has added it to her herd.

Power Touch Baby Reading System
Buy Power Touch Baby Reading System Now
This is a re-do of my first review (I reviewed it the first day I got it before playing with it much.)and I couldn't figure out how to change teh stars. This product really only deserves 1 or 2 stars.Hi, I reviewed this the day I first bought it, but thought I should post again because I returned it. My son could not get through one page. He loves to touch the pictures in the book, especially with the tactile pages. Whenever he would touch the page, the words to the story stop and respond to what was touched. And if he kept touching it or touched different things..it would just say the first syllable of whatever he touched. So, he wasn't hearing the story, or learning about what he was touching. It was more like a broken record of syllables. It was a good idea...but not a practical buy. We bought the leapfrog little touch system and have been happy with it. It isn't the greatest either, but he can atleast hear the story and it is not too sensitive. Leapfrogs pages are a laminated fabric, even though they feel like paper. They haven't torn yet. Good luck in whatever you decide to do. Spending money on regular ol' books may be your best bet!

I like this PT BABY for my 2 year old better than the regular PT for ages 3-7, which I bought at first. The regular PT has SO many things to do on each page that it is way too distracting and confussing for the younger age range. The books are way stronger and more durable, as they have a thicker stronger plastic coating on them, vs the reg. PT books that bend & tear easily. The worst thing about the PTB is that the books fall off the unit very easy, which is very fustrating for mom and child. I wish the PT Baby had the alphabet on the unit itself like the reg PT does for use without the books.
I would have to say that the BEST books so far of the four that are currently retailing are: "I Know My Letters" and "I Know My Numbers". These two books are MUST haves out of the four. They are very colorful, textured, useful and the most educationl of all the four books out right now.
The carring case for the reg PT will NOT fit the PT Baby, however, the (green&blue) Leapfrog carring case/backpack will. Or, just buy a standard size backpack and use that instead...thats what we did!
But most importantly--this is a nice toy for child AND parent(s) to play together!!!! So enjoy!
***P.S. I hope my review has helped you out as much as other peoples TRU reviews help me with my decisions on toys.***After reading all the reviews that I could find on the PowerTouch Baby and Leap Frog's comparable unit I decided on the Fisher Price version. Boy am I glad that I did. Bear in mind that I have never used the Baby Leap Frog personally and might find it to be equally grand. My daughter received the PT Baby from "Santa" and she has loved it since she first set her fingers on it. She loves anything that makes music and this toy is great for that. She hasn't shown too much interest in the book that came with it yet but that will come. When the book is attached she likes to turn it to the back page and push buttons to hear the songs that are played as a result. I generally keep the book up on the shelves because she is very happy to play with the unit without it. It's great to take on trips in the car because it keeps her entertained "composing songs' without the worry of the book falling out, etc. It is easy for her to carry and she figured out in no time at all how to turn it on and off and adjust the volume. Several people have complained about how sensitive it is to touch, and yes, it is VERY sensitive. I wouldn't expect a 6-12 month old to be able to operate it in the same way that a 2 year old can. But while it may not seem like fun to you, it probably is for your child if they continue to press on the pages to hear the noises that it makes. People want everything to be so "educational" for babies. At this age it is enough for them to be learning about cause and effect! As an educator I can assure you that a six month old is not going to "learn" his alphabet or numbers by pushing pictures on a page and listening to the explanation that follows. While exposure to letters and numbers is benefitial sometimes the child just needs to be able to explore and have fun with the results! I highly recommend this toy for the ages listed on the box. Babies will enjoy the power that they feel from being able to make something respond to their actions while older toddlers can begin to benefit from more deliberate exploration.

I purchased this costume for my 8 year old grandson in a size Medium. It fits just right in the length; a size large would have been too long. My grandson was thrilled when he saw it and wore it for hours on the first day. I convinced him that he needed to put it away or it would be worn out before Halloween. Fun rates a 5-star. The costume is made in China (thumbs down) and has the Star Wars/Lucasfilm trademark. The material is polyester and is thin but is adequate to go over clothing. The bottom hem on the legs has overcast stitching. I had a slight issue with the cape that just hangs in the back and is attached with a velcro square. It looks fine in the picture, but in person it looks dumb. Picture a towel hanging on a hook. So I pinned (to be sewn) the top corners of the cape to the neckline so that it comes over the shoulder and looks much better. The cape itself appears to be a quick cut & dash, no overcast stitching, has scalloped-cut edges to simulate it "waving" (I guess) and doesn't look like it will ravel. It fulfills his need for a Halloween costume. Great vendor to deal with, the mask to the costume got damaged in the packing process and the vendor had a new one out with in the next couple of days, good communication. Costume is good quality. Will definitely use this vendor again.I have got the costume for my 6 y.o. grandson, he loves it, may be I should take a bigger size, but it still OK.Sunday, January 12, 2014

Learning Curve Disney Pooh Waterfall Stackers
Colorful, friendly faces and makes my daughter happy! Will make bath time much more fun for her, she loves Pooh & Friends! These are so cute but the reservoir is so shallow that it can't hold enough water to make the internal parts work. I very slowly drizzle a cup of water over it to make the pooh wheel spin. The Eyore does nothing and the elephant character has water come out it's trunk but this is to subtle to hold my toddlers attention. If the reservoir on top were deeper my son could do it on his own.
