I have had this toy for over 8 years and had no problem with it except to replace the batteries, then on day it just quit. My grandchildren were coming the next week and they really enjoyed this toy so I immediately went to the web to see if I could find another one. I found it at Amazon and it is working great and it arrived before the grandchildren.

This is a fun toy. All the kids in the family enjoyed it a great deal. The little saying are infectious even the adults were saying them.

Baby and Toddler Captain Kirk Costume

Last year when my little boy was 22 months old, I dressed him in the Rubie's "Spock" costume, toddler size. It was way too big on him but it was very cute and funny anyway. This year, he is two months shy of his 3rd birthday and I tried the Spock costume on him again and it still fit him. So, I felt safe ordering this Captain Kirk costume in the same size. [Sizing is such a problem with costumes! Especially when ordering online]. The toddler-sized Kirk costume fits well, still a tiny bit too big but pretty dang close to just right. For sizing reference: my boy is now 37" tall and 30 lb. He is in the 37th percentile for weight and the 26th percentile for height.

The costume is slightly better quality than a lot of what I was seeing in the Halloween stores nearby. It is definitely not designed for everyday play but for Halloween events it's fine. Lots of loose threads hanging off everywhere and I know the stitching won't last long. It's kind of a thick combed polyester, not really flannel but very soft. It is one piece that you pull on over the child's head and then the legs have Velcro closures at a few spots along the inseam. I would say it's pretty easy to put on and take off.

It is very very funny and cute to see a small child wearing a Star Trek costume and so much more entertaining than the same old Spiderman and Buzz Lightyear and Winnie the Pooh (yawn!)

This thing started to come apart as soon as I washed it. Luckily I have a sewing machine soo I just reinforced all the stitches but if I had known it was going to fall apart like this I would have just made my own. It would have taken the same amount of time as repairing this one did AND it would have been a better quality fabric. This was made out of thin cheap felt.

Our son wore this costume to a Halloween birthday party and a community fair. He received many compliments. We charged an old flip-style cell phone for him to carry as his communicator. I would recommend having a child wear a t-shirt or shortall under the costume, the closure is a bit rough.

Our 17 month old son (32" tall, 30 lbs) wore the toddler costume, and it was a decent fit, slightly big. We added a toy phaser and black boots to complete the outfit. The costume is a one piece outfit that closed at the top at the back of neck with Velcro, and had Velcro closures through the inseam for easy diaper changes. The material was fairly light, and the cuffs and insignia seemed similar to iron on transfer, not that we were expecting anything sewn on. Quite satisfied for the expense.

Gund Baby 9" Snuffles Pink

I wanted to get a pink snuffles for my newborn daughter... because I had one when I was little in the 80's! Her name was bubble gum, and she was thrown out by my parents due to a flood a couple years ago. I was so excited to find a brand new one on amazon... gund finally came out with pink again! It is super soft and adorable! Now my sweetie has her own bubble gum! (these are hard to find, especially in the large 9" size in pink)

Not complaining, just noting the difference. The plush is different, more washable though. . . I think the 'regular' plush would get goo'ed up quickly and be difficult to clean. . . so this makes sense they altered it a bit for baby.

We first found the Gund Snuffles 23 years ago at Sach's on Union Square. It was adorable. My daughter took it with her everywhere she went (and she's now 24). I was very excited to find it available online and ordered two as gifts. I couldn't believe what came out of the box. The workmanship and materials were so much less than I remember. The kids get a lot of fun out of the pool; they use it almost every day. For the price, it's a great thing for the kids to have in the summer time.

The one thing I found is that the vinyl bottom of the pool can be punctured very easily. Despite taking extra precautions, like using a tarp underneath it, I had 2 holes after the first use. The included patch kit made it easy to fix.

The cleanup process is a bit of a pain, so I found that it's easier to just leave it full until it gets really dirty. I purchased pool treatment (chlorine crystals) to 'shock' the pool when first filled, and then to keep it clean after each use. I purchased a cheap $2 plastic 9x12 sheet to use as a pool cover to keep it covered and clean.

My son just loves this pool. It's a great size and durable. I have had inflatable pools before and had problems with those, decided to purchase this snapset pool and really like it. It's easy to set up and store, just folds right up.

I purchased a pool similar to this last summer. Unfortunately, it met the fate of our neighborhood lawn service's weed wacker. Nevertheless, we had so much fun with it, I knew I needed to purchase a new one. We live in a town home community, so I wanted a pool that was compact and not too big. This pool certainly meets that criteria. It's inexpensive, too. You need to have the pool filled almost to the top to really stabilize the sides. Also, if your lawn is naturally at a slant, you can expect the pool water to fill a bit unevenly. The diameter of this pool is great for 2-3 adults or about 4 young children. It's great summer time fun!

This is a great kids pool! It is easy to fill, and is extreemly easy to empty and store. Used it all summer, did not tear or leak. I think this is simly a great product!

The weight of the water inside the pool actually holds up the sides. The sides do not stand up unless the pool is full. I would definitely try it before I threw it away. I have two small children and we have had one every year for the past four summers. lots of fun.

I bought this for my daughter when she was about 8 months old. She played with it for a few months mainly because it plays music. She got most of her entertainment from turning it upside down instead of pushing or pulling the animals themselves. It is not very intuitive on how to change the settings on it and it gets very repetitive really fast. Also if you don't turn it off, it will start playing in the middle of the night for no reason whatsoever.

I bought this costume for my daughter who is 16 months old. Costume is very cute and we got lots of compliments, but it didn't look quite as cute as it did in the picture. The hat sits up a bit high and the bows are a much brighter pink that don't match as well. THe costume fit my daughter very well we got a 12-18 month size, but my daughter is in the 10th percent for weight and 25th percent for height, so I would recommend ordering a bit big. My daugher thinks it is cute and loves to look at the picture of the girl on the package wearing the costume, but she doesn't like to wear it so much. She likes to be a bit more free. The costume is pretty warm, and my daughter wore it just a couple of days ago to a halloween parade and carnival in very warm weather (for Iowa) and I think she was too hot in the costume, but if it gets really cold for Halloween I don't think she will be warm enough, so hopefully it stays fairly nice and doesn't drop below freezing.

This toy was instrumental in helping my son to walk. He pushed this toy all over the house day and night. The toys on it light up and make noises. There's an educational mode and a music mode. My son's favorite part is the phone. He pretends like he's talking to daddy. This toy is very sturdy. My son has pulled himself up on it numerous times and it's never tipped over. I also noticed that it doesn't seem to go too fast. Other walkers I've seen take off and leave the baby to fall on his face. This one is perfect. I recommend it to everyone. My son was walking on his own after 1 month of using this.

This toy is exactly as it says a sit to stand learning walker. It has lots of interactive features and my daughter loves it. The front "face" comes off so she can sit on the floor with it and play....when she is feeling adventurous she pushes it around. It does not have any resistance feature on the wheels (like some other walkers) so she is still learning to push it and control it without falling but I would recommend it and buy it again over other walkers (I have 2 others that don't interest her as much)

UPDATE (2/23): I am upgrading it to 4 stars thanks to one of the comments made to my review. We are currently using it with our second son (11 months) and it works just like new. The play panel still freezes, so we don't really use this feature, hence 4 stars instead of 5.

When I first got this walker for my little one he was 9 months old and just started pulling him self up and walking around the crib. I thought these were signs that he is ready to start walking so I got him this walker. Unfortunately his moves were still very uncoordinated and he kept falling with the walker. At that point the walker was still very unsafe for him so I put it away. I took it out when he was 11 months and to my surprise he did great, no more falling at all. He was able to use it immediately so I believe no walker will work when the baby is not ready yet. I'm giving this walker 3 stars for two reasons. First I think the name is a bit misleading as I don't think this is a good product to learn how to stand up so "Sit-to-Stand Learning" is a bit misleading. I do however think that if a baby learned how to stand up properly this becomes a great walker. The second reason is that the play panel freezes all the time and is very annoying, so we don't even turn it on anymore and use it only as a walker.

I was a little skeptical to buy this because of all the negative reviews this product had about not being durable and the electronics not working properly. In fact, I was so skeptical that I didn't buy it at first. A few days later, still a little sad that I couldn't find anything else, a friend of mine posted a video of her kiddos (she has twins) playing with the same toy I wasn't buying!! She told me that she loved it, her babies loved it and that it was a durable as it could be so I ordered it. It was extremely easy to put together AND the toy came with its own batteries which I thought was absolutely amazing since nothing ever comes with batteries anymore. The electronics worked great until about 2 months later. It started doing all the crazy things that people were talking about. Luckily I remembered that the batteries were originally provided to me by the company and who knows how old those were so I replaced them and the electronics worked great again. Soooo... to all those people that said that the circuit board was crap, check the batteries first and see if that is the problem.

As for durability, my daughter has rammed it into every single piece of wall, furniture and living thing in our house. It has a 90 degree square base with wheels so it is extremely difficult to tip over. In the 3 months my daughter has had it, she has tipped it over 1 time and learned that when you fall, you have to let go of the handle otherwise it comes down with you.

This toy is fun, flashy and gets used in our house every single day. My daughter loves this thing and it was worth every penny of the $35 dollars I spent on it. If your baby is ready to start walking then this toy is absolutely wonderful but please know that if your baby cannot stand on their own, then they are not ready to be walking with this toy so just get it for them to press the buttons since it can be easily removed until they can stand and walk with it.

There are no stoppers or emergency breaks on the wheels so for those who are worried that their little one will push and it will go forward, you're right, it will and it wont stop. That is what it is made for.

I gave the educational value a four because while there are a million things on it that baby can learn from, they probably are not going to because they will be so busy wanting to push a million other buttons.

UPDATE: We have now had this for 6 months and my daughter still loves it. She figured out how to take the face off to play with it by itself and has thrown it on the ground several times. We do not have carpet so the fact that it is still working tells me that it seems to be put together pretty well.

Like another review I have found that the mirror is not in a place that would allow the child to see herself. However that is alright since there are other components to entertain the child. The toys dangle and seem to dance and jingle while the car is moving. This movement always prompts my daughter to "talk" to the characters and keeps her happy for much longer than she would otherwise be. The only complaint I have about this toy is that you need a headrest in order to attach it. But my daughter has loved this toy since she was a month old and still does at four months old.

I bought this a year ago after an unsuccessful attempt with a similar item by Sassy. This is much better! It holds the toys out so that the baby can see and reach them. They dance as the car moves and are very entertaining. Today my 13 month old was actually able to squeeze the sun hard enough to make it play its music for the first time. He was so excited. The velcro is strong enough to withstand tugging from a child but the toys can be taken off to be used separately (in a stroller or a restaurant). As mentioned before, you do need a headrest to attach the toy. All in all I would call this a very good buy.

This product offers a better variety of sizes for the little one to put into order than the little plastic one for smaller children. It also covers all of the colors in the color spectrum with a few more greens and blues for light and dark comparison.

The only drawback is that my little one likes to try to put them on her fingers for rings and sometimes they get stuck.

Over all I am pleased with this product.

My 18 month old loves this as does her 3 year old brother. It's so nice to have more than 5 rings, and because each ring has the same size hole you can stack them any which order you please. I bought this for my daughter to play with as an early Montessori 'job'. So far, it keeps her attention 3-4 times longer than the cheap plastic version that you can buy anywhere. Also, great quality. One thing that is not mentioned though, is that the color is more of a stain on the wood than a paint (it's not glossy). I was expecting more of a finish like Haba, but that's ok!

This toy is not only a household favorite, its also an excellent gift! We purchased this for our second child to replace the M&D stacker that we got for our first child. The M&D paint peeled and chipped after only a few weeks of use. This stacker is STAINED with a natural/non-toxic stain that seems much more durable. So this is a stellar stacker. All of Grimm's wooden toys are hand dyed and made in Germany. The colors practically glow. It makes a nice stacker toy and because the pieces are bigger you can use them as blocks as well.

We've had this phone for years, and my kids have all loved it. It's been one of the most played with toys in our house. The shorts bits of music it plays are actually good. It very easily records a short voice snippet with the push of one button, and then the child can play it back by pushing one other button. And about 10-15 seconds after you close it up, it rings and draws the child's attention back to it! (It only rings once if you keep it closed though!) Very cute!

I have twin grandsons so I got 2 of these for them for christmas, the recording part is great, my son recorded on one and my daughter-in-law recorded on the other, it's great, now they can hear mom and dads voice whenever they want.

I purchased this little horse for my 16 month old after originally seeing it for much more in a catalog. It was very easy to put together. It's very sturdy and a good size for little ones. The little end piece on the seat helps keep tushies on the horse. My son played with a rocking horse without a piece like that and kept sliding off the back of the horse so I was happy to see this feature. This horse is also very stable and doesn't tip too far in either direction. This is important to me as my son is a bit of a stunt rider and really gets into rocking on his horse. Style wise the horse is simple and modern and fits in perfectly with our decor. Beyond being a rocking horse my son also loves to roll his cars under the horse like it's a tunnel. Overall this horse has great play value and is awesome quality for the price.

We finally used our gift card to buy few new toys for our children and the rocking horse was one of our choices. As soon as I opened the box I realized how easy was to assemble it, it took me just a few minutes and how simple and beautiful is the design. My 17 months daughter love it and and I think the price is very reasonable. GREAT TOY !!!

Purchased for my 10 month old and on the box it's listed 10M+ which was perfect. It was pretty easy to set up. Took my husband less than 10 minutes. There are only 6 screws which are connected with an Allen Key. Instructions aren't even needed but included. The stability on this product is great. I was a bit scared that she would fall over but to our surprise she took to it very easily and stayed on. The attached piece on the back also prevents her from sliding off. She just started walking so enjoys the "galloping" motion. The gets on and off by herself but I don't worry since it's pretty low to the floor.

Kids Preferred Amazing Baby Blanket Teether Bear

I cannot for the life of me figure out why companies manufacture anything made of cloth that cannot be immersed in water for cleaning purposes for children. As cute as this teether is and as much as my daughter likes it, what good is it if it cannot be properly washed? The directions on the product say to "surface wipe". That is dumb.

I like this but would have preferred that the company manufacture something that could be immersed in water and properly cleaned.

Once my son started really showing an interest in toys around 2.5 months, I found a hard time finding ones that he could hold onto. He wasn't yet grabbing for things, but would grasp something placed near his hands. In a sitting position, I can place this toy on my son's stomach or in front of him and he can easily grasp one of the bear's limbs and bring it to his mouth. He's 5 months old now and still loves this colorful, crinkly toy. He's still not very adept at reaching for things, so this is still one of his favorites.

I thought my son was teething as early as 3 months. I like when things have 2 purposes so I was stoked when I found this. At 3 months he couldn't grasp anything except his blanket and would find the ribbon or tag each time. I decided I wanted something with ribbons or taggies that was easy for him to hold. I lucked out when I found this bear. He can keep himself entertained on the many toys and doesn't seem to get bored of it. He was screaming to the top of his lungs one night while shopping in Ross. I threw this bear over my left shoulder like a burp cloth and he found his way to the rings that were dangling. I would press the squeak toy every now and then and it would catch his attention and keep him quiet long enough for me to continue shopping.

Elmo's World "Let's Get Clean!" Mini Bath Book

Another time where I blame myself for not reading the fine print the book has fewer pages than I'd hoped but for an infant who really doesn't care, and just likes looking at Elmo, it was fine.

My son has the full set of Elmo bath books! He loves all of them, Let's Get Clean especially! The story is simple but it makes for good ad-lib! Plus he enjoys pointing at objects and having me tell him the story. We have owned them for about 1 month and no sign of mold on them either!

Sassy First Sounds Book Set and Cube

My daughter is 10 months old and LOVES mommy and daddy's books, however she also loves using her 7 teeth to chew them to bits and create a choking hazard. Enter this adorable set of chew-friendly books to save the day. Despite the set's title, the books do not make sound; I thought they may moo or make music when pressed, but this is not the case. The cube that comes with the book set jingles a bit but that is it.

The cube is a fabric-covered foam block that encases a jingle bell; since it is slightly muffled by the foam it's not annoying to adult ears.

Each book covers a different sound: ma-ma, da-da, and ba-ba. Inside each book shows things that start with that sound.

The drawings are very cute and clear; it is a nice tool to start teaching different animals, concepts and relationships.

The colors are awesome, very bright and stimulating; every page has a contrasting graphic and background color.

I love Sassy toys, they are always so colorful and have held my DD's interest longer than her other toys.

I highly recommend for the smallest bookworm in your life :)

Only gripe: These books have only one center page each and I wish that they had 2 or 3 inside since my daughter loves turning book pages.

I bought this product for my son when he was six months old, he is 8 months now. He has been enjoying looking at the bright pictures and turning the pages of the three books. Also biting them :) They are made of a soft material covered with very thin plastic so they are bendable. The books are one of his favorite toys. It comes with a soft cube with pictures and words on it. I highly recommend.

I bought this for my 7 month old and it is a terrible, potentially harmful toy. She is teething and was immediately drawn to the colorful books, grabbing them, opening them, and, of course, putting them in her mouth. I was shocked to find that the colors ran. The product says paint free, but there is definitely some kind of paint on the books, and it dissolves in your baby's mouth. I do not know what they are made of, but I don't take risks with my baby's health and immediately took the toy away from her.

In addition to this hazard, the toy is not very good for introducing sounds. It has Ma-Ma, Da-Da, and Ba-Ba listed as the M, D, and B sounds. Then a picture of a monkey, a dog, and a sheep. Overall, it is a poorly designed, potentially dangerous baby toy.

I purchased this as my son was turning 6mo, he's now 7months & both the block & books are his favorite toys. The books I read to him at night are cardboard so I don't let him play with them bc he likes to mouth them. But these are great, the material on both is teething friendly, easy to clean, a waterproof... he always grabs these first when I lay out his toys. He even knows how to flip the pages already! & loves looking at the simple bright pictures while acting like he's reading! My family was so impressed he was doing this, I always bring one of these books with when for visiting, he loves them! I did read controversy from a teacher about the word sound examples for the letters not being appropriate for proper pronunciation & she thought the books were bad, many disagreed with her even a PreK teacher on Amazon, I really don't think that's a big deal this young... I think these books are great for under 12months for baby to learn to get familiar with liking books & pictures. After a year or so I would probably encourage more "proper" educational books for pronouncing proper sounds after reading that comment... But for now these are great!

This "guitar" is simply a noise maker. There is no volume control. There is no off button. There are no strings. All kids have to do is hit one of four buttons to start loud, annoying music. It is unreliable. Sometimes the buttons start the music, sometimes they don't. Do not buy this toy.

Little Tikes 2 in 1 Farm Sort and Stack

My twins received this as a gift. They weren't ready for it when they got it and I considered exchanging it because I already had a different shape sorter but my husband talked me into keeping it. I wish that I had exchanged it. My kids are now 15 months old and hardly ever play with it for several reasons. Putting shapes into a horizontal wall is very difficult. Really the only way that they can get the shapes in is to put the toy on its side and this makes the silo part of the toy useless. But the silo part of the toy is almost useless anyway. The center tower part comes off VERY easily and my kids won't and can't keep it in place to stack the hay. I think that they have literally put one of the hay bales on the center pole once.

The only saving grace is that for some strange reason the center yellow pole that the hay bales go on is a favorite toy around here. They walk around with this strange thing and love it.

The toy is cute, but there are much better and more functional shape sorters on the market. I recommend that you look elsewhere.

Kettler Go-Green Trike Without Handle

I was searching for a trike for my 2 year old's birthday. After reading many reviews I finally decided on a Kettler. Their push trikes seemed to be put together more solidly than others and made of better materials. It was a bonus to find the "go-green" Kettler made of recycled materials! The day I ordered it happened to be on sale for $45! What a fantastic deal! When it arrived all that I had to do was push one button and it snapped open, ready to use. The push bar was just as simple to attach. Although we've only used it once, it seems to be very sturdy, it's very light and easy to steer... also my short 2 year old was able to reach the pedals! This was a great buy!

I try to buy Kettler products. They are usually sturdy and well designed. I previously bought Kettler products in Germany and where always satisfied with them. I bought this Go Green bike in May 2009 for my son`s 2nd birthday. He did not want to ride it because he could not push the pedals back then. Fine, we waited for about 8 months for him to jump on it and ride it. The bike sat in the garage for 8 months! Instead of riding this bike, he chose to ride Fisher-Price Rock Roll'N Ride Trike (plastic) given to us by a friend. He loved it. Well, today after 8 months, for the second time after we bought it, he got on the Go Green and rode. Well, poor kid, one rear wheel wobbles, the pedals slip inside the front wheel, and it also tends to fall to one side. It happened three times today already. Our main concern is our son`s safety and we are afraid that he may injure himself when the bike falls. We really expected a higher quality product from Kettler.

I just bought this addorable trike yesterday at Target (for $!) My 23 month old took to peddling imediately and then crashed as he turned the handlebars! The trike went srait over on its side just like that! I was willing to give it the bennefit of the doubt and popped him back on to try again...IT HAS TIPPED OVER REPEATEDLY in the short 24 hrs. that we have had it! He got on the trike by himself this morning and came running in crying and there was the trike, once agin, on it's side! If he hadn't been wearing a helmet on all these occasions this could have hurt his head pretty badly! I am a mom of 4 and am the laid back, not overly concerned about "boo-boos" type, but this little trike is DANGEROUS. I am going to return it to Target today and order one of the (more expensive) trike's with a wider wheel base, preferably one with a brake bar too (like the Kettler Happy Plus Frog Tricycle).

it's a fun first tricycle. Just be sure to closely supervise your toddler, as with any activity (except sleeping) for kids this age, so they don't get in an accident.

The negative reviews complain about how it tips over easily... we never had that problem with out 3 year old daughter because we know that:

1) Any tricycle will tip over if the center of gravity is suddenly shifted. Kids this age do not know about center of gravity so they don't know how to lean into the turn (even a car will flip over if you made a sudden turn at certain speeds and it has four wheels)... so it's important to be right there to guide your child telling them not to go too fast and not to make any sudden turns... even better, why not get the push bar.

2) If we wanted our 3 year-old to play by herself so we can do other grown up stuff, it's not going to be riding the trike as this needs our undivided attention.

I also agree with the slipping wheel complaints. it was a minor irritant at first but it only took a 1.5" screw to fix it by driving it perpendicular into the side of the plastic tire.

So yeah, it's a pretty nice first trike, the folding feature is very convenient for storage. We do use it for Mommy-Daddy-Daughter time, meaning we walk/run along side with her while she rides. She can ride by herself when we feel she's old enough to do so, and maybe on a "big girl" bike.

This trike is perfect for our tiny 22 month old. She is very proud to have her own "bike" and will happily let us push her around the house for long stretches in it. She doesn't pedal on her own yet, but loves to put her feet on the pedals when we push her. The handle for parents is a must, though. I'm not very tall, but bending over to push her before the bar came just about did my back in. I would also recommend getting the seat belt, as the ride is a little rough when you start using it outside.
